Missing Content Management for KM in EP 7.0 SP09

Hi All Experts,
I have installed Enterprise Portal Java Web AS 7.0 SP09.
I cannot find some links for KM in it, like "Content Management"
and channels(for sending SMS and E-mails), etc.
I can see only a link i.e. "KM Content" under Content Administration after login as administrator.
Can any body know how we can add these links ? Do we have to install KM separately or is there any role that we have to assign to the user?

Hi,
No need to install KM seperately, you must have Content Manager and Content Admin role.
You can access the KM Content by,
Content Administration -> KM Content.

If you have done this and double checked the entries, you could at least try a server restart.

Missing Content Manager Tab

I'm really new in SAP EP. Now I#m missing the 'ContentManagement' Tab in the Top level Navigation.
Which role I need to see this Tab??

does this happen to others users (administrators) or just you? And,
have your Portal been recently installed, because accordingly to that
screenshot I think you may not have KM totally configured.
Do you have CM repository and Entry point Providers created?

Configuring Content Manager for artesia

Does anyone have experience configuring the WL PS Content Manager to use a 3rd party content management system? Specifically, I'm trying to configure it to work with artesia's TEAMS product.I'd like to know if anyone has done this successfully before and, if so, what updates had to be made to the defualt configuration.Thanks,Don

That's quite the question. Before even attempting to answer, what do you know about OIM? Have you configured any connectors to understand how OIM works and the objects that make up a connector?

Missing content management data after upgrading to 9.2

Hi,
I upgraded an 8.1 SP4 portal domain and application to portal 9.2
My application makes use of the BEA Repository and has a few content types and related content. I am using the default Pointbase database. When I upgraded the domain using the domain upgrade wizard, I chose the wizard to upgrade the database as well as it was Pointbase.
After the upgrade, I noticed that the content is missing from the BEA Repository. In fact I opened up the database using the Pointbase Console and saw that the CM_NODE table does not have any rows at all.
Is there something else that needs to be done to have the CM data upgraded as well?

Do you have a backup copy of the domains 8.1 SP4 PointBase database files that you can share with me?
The data in the CM_NODE table (as well as all other DB tables) should be preserved during upgrade. For CM the following .sql files are executed during DB upgrade so no data loss should occur; $WL_HOME$/portal/db/pointbase/cm9_create_tables.sql

a bit, yeh. I worked on a content management system for a few weeks, that was a web app, and ajax, too, so it was fully buzzword-compliant :-)
but I didn't do an enormous amount of work on it, and left the company very quickly

IPTV Content Manager and Novell 6 Zenworks Dynamic Local User

We are running Cisco IPTV viewer 3.2.24 along with Windows 2000 Professional on Dell260 workstations. We run Novell, version 6 with Zenworks 4 and Dynamic Local User to create a new user on the workstation. Every time a new user is created we have to add the tcp/ip address for the Content Manager. Is there a way to retain the address of the Content Manager for any user that is created on the local workstation so that we don't have to enter the address each time a new user sign-on to the workstation?

Unfortunately, it seems, there is no work-around for this problem in 3.2 version of the IPTV Viewer. The Content Manager address is stored in the registry setting in HKEY_USERS.
The behavior is different for viewer 3.4 where the CM address is stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and is common to all users.
Solution is -
a. Upgrade to IPTV 3.4 or 3.5 Viewer
or
b. Use the Web-based Program Guide
You could also try playing around with setup.ini/iptv.ini {GuideServer= and GuideServerPort= } settings to see if there is any luck to hard-code this information while installing the software.

Missing content for inventory management (cube 0IC_C03)

Hi everybody,
I installed the following BI content for inventory management: Cube 0IC_C03, InfoSource 2LIS_03_BX and transfer rules from data source 2LIS_03_BX to info source 2LIS_03_BX. However, I'm not able to the update rule from info source 2LIS_03_BX to info cube 0IC_C03. I can only find the old update rule 0IC_C032LIS_40_S278 -> 0IC_C03.
I also couldn't find the update rule for material movements from 2LIS_03_BF to infocube 0IC_C03.
How can I find this missing content. We are using BI Content Release 704 Level 1.

Hi Oscar,
unfortunately, I was not able to find a transformation for the datasource migrated to 7.0.
Btw, how do I determine to which version data sources are replicated. I have an underlying ECC6.0 system. When I replicate all data sources for that source system, datasources automatically show up as 7.0. I'm missing the pop-up question whether or not I want to replicate as 3.5 or 7.0.

how do upload the javascript files for the html edge animate banner to work in my Content Management System module. At present, the html cannot function because the reference javascript files are missing.

I am not very sure how the CMS manage their content but basically the javascript files need to be in the same folder as the HTML file for Animate content to play.

Content Management Role missing in EP 7

I have to store some documents in SAP EP KM. I have noticed that Content Management Role missing. We are using EP 7. Its strange. Can you please let me know the reason. Earlier I was using Content Management role for storing documents, Collaboration etc.

Hi,
Go to User Administration -> Identity Management.
Select the user and click the modify button.
Go to the assigned roles tab
search for the Content Manager
Add only pcd:portal_content/specialist/contentmanager/ContentManager role and save.

IMPORT_FUNCTION in content model for Records management

Hello!
I customized my own content model for documents with my own attributes, it works fine, and everything is ok... but when i define property IMPORT_FUNCTION in DMWB for my content model, it has dump with error "DP_ERROR_GENERAL" when i'm trying to save the new created document... Even if i set function without code for attribute IMPORT_FUNCTION, it still has dump... why?
i need to get info about uploaded file, such as path and etc... i have found this information only in this function.

The linkage of module may be very critical. But if you have a requirement for attaching the documents like photo,certificates or other documents related to employee to records management then you can create a radio button to recodrs management screen with help of abap'r and directly attach these documents to respective records management screen.
for linkage it may not feasible or much critical.

Out of the box porlets for Content Management with BEA Portal

I am looking at BEA Portal for a simple Intranet site with some basic content management system capabilities. I would like to implement this without the use of a third party tool and wanted to know if there are any open source or out of the box BEA portlets/web-apps with basic CMS capabilities beyond what has been shown in the Portal tutorials around CMS. From doing the tutorials, I have learned how to manage content, and how to build a site from scratch to access the content using the <cm:> tags. However, without additional third party products such as Documentum or Interwoven, is there any free BEA/open source portlets to:
- Configure exposure of this content in a runtime framework? (ie content manager can expose new content from the repository by a configurable admin GUI, place where this content is on the page)
- Allow for a simple approval workflow where content that gets added to the repository by user A has to be approved by user B before automatically exposing?
Interested to know if custom portal type development is the only way to do these kind of simple functions, or third party product.
