Missing controls in Develop module - crop etc

They were there a couple of days ago but for the last few sessions the group of controls (including crop etc) that sit under the main image in the Develop module have gone missing.
I've been playing with the 'view' options without success and it seems that they are not coming back of their own volition.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Scott Hortop

Thanks - I tried options on the view menu but missed the obvious one at the top.

  • Develop Module - Cropping

I have an image in LR and want to crop it to 7 by 5. The problem is that when I click the crop icon, and then select 5 by 7, I cannot get the correct orientation as I'm going to 7 by 5, not 5 by 7.
I tried rotating the image, but that does not work.
I'm sure there is an easy solution, but I cannot find it. :-)
    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for sharing this tip. I've been bashing my head against this brick wall for about a week now, and couldn't find anything in the docs or knowledgebase.
Is this documented anywhere other than here? I can't recall this particular interface mechanic being used in any of the other Adobe products' interface. It makes me wonder what other tools I'm missing.
    Thanks again.

  • Corrupted Lightroom (Can't access Basic controls in Develop module.) Do I need to delete and reinstall and, if so, how to do it without involving Creative Cloud swamp?

I am running on a McBook Pro, and suddenly cannot see or access the Basic options. Have I pushed the wrong button or has Lightroom gotten corrupted by my visit to Hawaii?
My thought is that the program has been corrupted; normally I woiuld simply delete it and reinstall, but Adobe seems to want me to jump through the Creative Cloud hoops, which I tried once and quit almost immediately.
Is there something that I ought to do to regain control ofmy life, or at least Lightroom?

That's odd - remember it is "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom."
On a MacBook, show the Launchpad (4-finger pinch on the trackpad) and type "Lightroom" in the search bar to find the app... Pin it to the dock when it's open so you can easily find it in the future (right click the dock icon, Options > Keep in Dock).

  • The main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window.  How do I recover them?

The main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window.  How do I recover them?  I'm working with Lightroom 5.3.  The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc.  I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back.  I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).

Right-click on any other item Tone Curve for ex., and check on "Basic" if that's what you are missing.
If you miss the complete Develop module right-click any other item  Library for ex and put a check on Develop

  • Lens correction feature completely missing from Develop Module

The lens correction feature has gone missing from the Development Module.  It was missing before I upgraded to 5.6 and is still missing.  Previously, it was present, so I am wondering if I did anything to hide or remove it?

Right-click on one of the other section headings, such as Tone Curve, Basic, etc. Make sure there is a checkmark in lens corrections. This is how you control which develop features you want displayed on your system. Sometimes features disappear mysteriously.

  • I have lost Basic adjustments in develop module LR5.6.  I would love to find them again

My Basic adjustments have gone missing from the develop module of my lightroom 5.  I have just downloaded 5.6 and they are no longer with me in my favored form  Can I have suggestions please?

control or right click on any of the section headers left of the text. You'll get a popup panel where you can select what you will see. Make sure there is a checkmark next to "Basic"

  • Develop module sliders for overall exposure, contrast, saturation etc. are gone.

The Develop module used to have sliders for overall exposure, contrast, saturation as well as highlights, whites, blacks, shadows, vibrance, clarity etc. Now these functions are only to be found in Library Quick Develop as left/right buttons. I miss the sliders in Develop. There are similar sliders there, but only relating to specific colors, not the overall image. How do I get the sliders back?

Right-click (Ctrl-click on Mac) on any panel group tab e.g Detail, Lens Correction etc and make sure all are checked (see image below).

  • Basic panel disappeared from Develop module.  LR 5.7 Mac OS 10.10.1 Tried control clicking headers of panels that are still there.  Do not get a pop up list.  Can't find way to restore.  What should I do?

Basic panel in the Develop model no longer appears.  Started this afternoon.  Been using LR 5 since it came out.  No problem before today.  Searched forums and did the control click on develop module headers.  Check list doesn't appear.  What do I do next?  I did a Time machine restore but nothing changed.

I have now tried control click, command click, option click and combinations of these on 2 computers running the same lightroom versions, same Mac OS with the same result. No list of develop headers, no way to check/ uncheck.
LR on my MacBook has all the panels.  On my iMac Basic and Split Toning are missing.
The only result of clicking is collapsing or expanding the individual sliders under the headers.
My only thought now is to find the preference files for LR and delete them and see if the missing panels return.  Any other suggestions?

  • All panels are missing from development module

Can anyone help me.  I have been using lightroom for some time.  Then today for some reason, not only did my basic panel disappear but also every other panel under the development module disappeared so I can't even right click on on say, the "Tone Curve" or "Lens Correction" to bring back the basic panel because every panel is missing.  Can anyone help me?  I have uninstalled lightroom and re-installed but still nothing.  I have no idea how to fix this issue.

In develop, press Ctrl+1 (Cmd+1 on Mac) for the basic panel. Then right-click (control+click) to choose others.
    Or use the Window menu.

  • Basic settings tab missing from Develop module

I recently bought lightroom 4 after using the free 30 day trial, and i have no basic settings on my mac, can't find them anywhere? My tabs go from histogram to colour curve. Where are they?
    Very confused..

No need to be confused, you've probably inadvertently hidden it. The thing is that in every Module, all the individual panels in each of the left and right-hand columns can be optionally shown or hidden under user control (there are few minor exceptions such as the Navigator, but by and large this control is available throughtout Lightroom).
So to bring up the options for each column (in your case the right-hand column of the Develop Module), simply right-click (ctrl-click on Mac) on ANY of the headers that are showing in that column and you'll see a pop-up context menu like the attached screenshot. Here you can see that I've previously hidden the Basic panel, so all I need to do is click on the Basic line and it's restored. Conversely, I can use this method to hide a panel.

  • Just updated to LR5.4 on my mac and the Detail Panel in the Develop module is missing. How to fix?

How do you fix the missing Detail panel in the Develop module? I just updated on the Mac to LR 5.4.

  • Quick Develop Module Missing in LR5?

    Hello,
I am using LR5 and my Quick Develop Module is missing. My photos are online and so this is not the problem. I rebooted but still no Quick Develop Module. I can use the other modules. Please help?

Quick Develop is in the Library Module, not the Develop Module (where it has always been).
If you don't see it in the Library Module, then you need to right-click on any right-panel header (like Keyword List) and select Quick Develop

  • Missing Navigator when in Develop module

When I change from Library to develop module, the left side of the screen is blank. The right side of the screen is fine; Histogram etc. I am new to lightroom. I had no problems yesterday, but today I want to pull my hair out.

The panels can be set to be open or closed or Auto Open and Close in each Module.
So, you have the Library Module set to have your left panel open, but your Develop Module set to have it closed.
Click on the small arrow in the middle on the left side, and the panel will appear.  Right Click on it to set options on how your want it to appear.    Use F7 to show the left panel, F8 to show the right, F6, the film strip, F5. the Module picker.  Use Tab to hide the left and right panels, and Shift-Tab to hide all panels.
In each Module you can use Shift-? to show many, but not all, shortcuts for the Module.

  • DSL/ Col Adj/ B&W section missing in Develop module

    Hi there,
I'm probably being an idiot here (usually the case) but I seem to have lost the DSL/ Col Adj/ B&W section down the right hand side in the develop module. Running top to bottom I have:
    Basic
    Tone Curve
    Split Toning
    Detail
    Lens Corrections
    Effects
    Camera Callibration
I've definitely used it before but it just seems to have vanished! Is there an option I've turned off in one of the menus?
    Any help greatly appreciated!
    Many thanks!

    Hey presto!
Thanks Rikk, that's done the trick! I'm just getting to grips with Lightroom and am following all the various instruction videos... just couldn't find one that solved that problem!
Thanks so much for your help.
