Missing links in Indesign CS6!

Good morning!
Yesterday, my workmate and I did a .indb file in Indesign CS6. That .indb (book) is made of several .indd files (documents).
So far so good. Then, after it was ready, we linked all images (using the Links panel) to each .indd and then we saved it.
Today, I've tried to move those documents to my computer.
However, the Links panel now shows many missing links in the images, according to the image below:
I can't understand how Indesign CS6 missed links in this case, because we have already linked all images to each document.
Please, I would like to learn more about this process of linking images to documents in Indesign.

inDesign links documents via a file path.
It doesn't actually add the image itself to the document, but rather relays a link to the where file resides on the hard drive.
It then draws a representation of that image in the layout using a proxy thumbnail.
So when it's linked it is actually looking at a file path, say something like
If I move that file to a computer where the my documents folder has a different name say "C:\MyDocuments\Eugene\Images\Eugene1.png"
"C:\MyDocuments\Marcelo\"
Then when I open the file on Marcelo's computer the link would still be
"C:\MyDocuments\Eugene\Images\Eugene1.png"
I need to redirect the link to go to
"C:\MyDocuments\Marcelo\Images\Eugene1.png"
As stated above you should use
File>Package
Zip the folders the computer generates - and then send them to a new computer.
Unzip and work on the file.

Why are missing from the Bridge CS6 menu: Tools the entries?

why are missing for me in the Bridge of CS6 in the menu item Tools, the entries for Fireworks, Photoshop and Illustrator?
Since I installed the Creative Cloud CS6, these entries are missing.

Click edit/preferences/startup scripts and make sure you have at least Bridge and Photoshop checked.

Missing plugins from AE CS6 installation?

Hi all, feel stupid for having to ask but...
I can't seem to find any threads via google regarding this. I went to use the "Time Remapping" plugin in AE CS6 installed on my PC and found it missing (haven't ever used it before). This is the first version I have owned, having only used AE on school computers. My suite is CS6 Production Premium, which I installed with all options included as far as I could tell.
I've checked throughout the effects menus and also tried searching from the Effects & Presets panel. All that's listed under "Time" is:
- CC Force Motion Blur
- CC Time Blend
- CC Time Blend FX
- CC Wide Time
- Echo
- Posterize Time
- Time Difference
- Time Displacement
- Timewarp
I've read dozens of threads/posts mentioning this plugin and no mention of it being a 3rd party paid plugin. Please help me, I feel like the answer's staring me in the face but I'm still missing it. I also wonder if I am missing any other plugins that should be installed.

Missing Tabs Panel/Indesign CS6

Hello. I just upgraded from CS4 to CS6 and resumed working on a book, only to find that there is no Tabs panel to be found anywhere (see attached jpg image). It's usually right under Paragraph in the Type Menu. It's also not in the Windows/Type Menu. I've been searching high and low around the program and on the internet and cannot find any clues. The Tabs instrutional videos on YouTube clearly show CS6 with a Tabs panel available in its traditional spot. I know this is bizarre and it's about to make me freak out because it seems like it should be pretty basic and obvious. Maybe it is and I'm missing a vital piece of info? If you have any ideas i sure would like to hear them...

Before the suggestions get made to re-install, a time consuming p.i.t.a. task for sure, do any users of InDesign 6 HAVE tabs in the drop down window?
Like ej5000 I do not have tabs in my drop down menus either. Steve I've trashed and restored my prefs so many times my head spins. Some afternoons it is literally all I get done. LITERALLY.

Hmmm, nothing else is working. This is so rediculous and it's taking up all my work day. I feel like the only solution is to semi-retire CS6, go back to CS4 and only use CS6 for importing .docx documents and exporting ePubs after I've preped them in CS4.
Peter's suggestion is the only way I am able to view my tabs pane.

MUCH easier and more time efficient than re-installing or needlessly/ceaselessly/endlessly deleting prefs. Since Adobe is constanly monitoring my activity and issuing updates this should get fixed on Adobe's end IMHO.

Missing Sliders in ACR (CS6)

I have Photoshop CS6, and some of the "Basic" Sliders have gone missing in ACR, e.g. the Recovery slider has disappeared. Seems to be something to do with the "Develop Settings" settings on an Image, what's missing isn't always the same, e,g, on one image, RECOVERY disappears after I revert to CAMAERA RAW DEFAULTS for "Develop Settings". I think all the sliders should always be there . . they were before . . . how do I get them all back . . . ? . . .

in the list of icons there is one with a camera. In this panel at the top shows Process and a pop up menu. Currently it states 2012 which is the new process version that works with new sliders.
You can select 2010 inhere to get recovery sliders back.

Missing Image Data in CS6 screen

I'm am sporatically encountering missing image data when opened in the CS6 image screen. Missing data is displayed with transparency grid. The problem occurs opening an existing PSD or when launching CS6 from ACR. Reloading the image may or may not correct the problem. Occurs in both new images processed in CS6 or images originally processed in CS5. Problem occurs in both PSD images or Smart Objects. Also, when enlarging the image view an image that displayed properly at 33% may loose image data in the display at other percentages. It appears to be totally random. The image data is there, its just not displaying. Lost data is in a rectangular section probably 25% of the image.
Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit, 8GB system memory, all current patches
NVidia Gforce 220, 1GB memory, driver current as of March 13, 2012
Images from Canon CR2 files.
Open GL is enabled
16 Bit images, sRGB or Adobe RGB, standard color workspace is Adobe and Canon camera is also set for Adobe RGB
Canon EOS 20D, Canon EOS 5D Mark II
HP with Intel I5 core processor.

I encounter the same problem. I always open my images (TIFF format) from LR4. My findings are as follows:
- the first image opened in PS6b has always this problem. Blocs of data are randomly missing. Zooming in or out restores the image temporary.
- by changing the background layer to a simple layer by double clicking, the problem disappears. More images loaded afterwards, appear normal. Only the image that opens PS6b has the problem.
Windows 7 64 bit, 8 GB RAM
Nvidia Gforce 240 GT 1 gig RAM with latest drivers
As my drivers are current and as everything else in my PS6b workflow works nice and smooth, I suspect "the Cat" and the trial screen to be the culprit.

Missing icons from Photoshop CS6

I don't know if anyone has run into this problem, but there's a discussion going on about it in the Adobe Photoshop forums. Taking it here to see if it's an OS problem or a Photoshop problem.
When saving a file from Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, file icons will not be saved with any format (forget about the alpha channel docs) - png, tif, jpg, psd, etc. I booted from my Lion Installer flash drive, repaired permissions and disk and some icon previews reappeared. Some didn't. No generic icon or anything. My Photoshop prefs are set to save a preview on the icons, as are with the 3 other Mac users who have reported the same problem.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Does anyone have a solution. Adobe seems to be pointing the finger at Apple but, I have to admit, employees at Adobe seem stymied as well.

Ok, this is going to sound dumb, but, I found a work-around (at least on my local mac) for the missing icons & previews.
The bad: I am having is when I save a CS6 .PSD, .TIF, .JPG, .ETC files, I get no icons or previews in finder...
The good: if I rename the file inside a search results window, then a preview & icon is genererated giving me a glimse of what the file contents are.
The bad: the new preview only shows up in the search results window, if I open the enclosing folder, the new preview is gone... where the renaming thing doesn't do anything with the preview or icon...
The sad face: Apple? Adobe? Anyone?
My first copy of PhotoShop was a beta of 1.0 that I got from Nikon way back in the "oh no you can't do that on a Mac" days and have been using Apple products before that... I have never seen such a blant UI issue that has gone on for so long without a fix. Shame, shame, shame...

Missing Plug-ins issue (CS6)

Hi all, I have upgraded from CS5 to CS6 and ever since then, I have had issues with missing plug-ins. Every file I open pops up with a message that it has missing plug-ins and when I want to package the file, it say's that "the document cannot be packaged due to missing plug-ins. Please install or activate these plug-ins: XMPBackEnd7.InDesignPlugin."
I am unsure what to do with this and how to go about activating/installing the correct plug-in for CS6
If anyone coul help me that would be great!

It sounds like you probably had a plugin from XMPie installed in CS5. If you need that functionality you'll need to install in CS6 as well.

Missing Internal Linked Story (CS6)

Hello all!
I have just opened a document in InDesign CS6 which I created myself a few days back. I copied and pasted text from Microsoft Word to Notepad and then into InDesign (I probably didn't need to do the Notepad step but just in case).
The text is divided in small boxes so just importin the Word Document wouldn't have worked for me in this case.
Regardless, now that I have opened this file again, I get some weird link error where it says I am missing story links in each box. Here is the screenshot.
The text is still present and editable and acts just as any text, which is what I expect it to do. However I don't understand the issue with the missing linked story, especially since I didn't even import anything: I copied and pasted the text.
I have no idea of how to solve this, in practice it doesn't affect the document and I can export the file with no issues, but I still would like to know what InDesign is on about.

Edit: Oh nevermind the screenshot didn't load for some reason. It's turned off already. But maybe for some reason it was on when I first made the file *shrug* Although I didn't touch that option at all.
Also if you read that option carefully it says "When placing", and I didn't place anything, I copied and pasted.

Missing file formats after cs6 beta

I have cs5 and don't know if I'm entitled to cs6 as mine is 1 year old. I have reinstalled photoshop because I hoped it would fix some missing file formats and live CS live "...extension could not be loaded". I'm Bavari69 from a previous attempt at installing dds. That's why I ended up with trying to reinstall after cs6 messing things up, but frankly I still have the same program.
I may be wrong but the list of file formats is very short. I'm missing bmp and png among other things.

The brush are not supposed to influence the file formats, only the plug-ins does.
If you had a previous install, and saved presets to their proper location, use edit>Presets>Migrate presets in CS6 to bring them from previous versions.

Missing clipping path files cs6

I have about 65 complicated photos I have outlined in Photoshop CS6. Opened tif file. outlined file, saved path as outline. saved outline path as a clipping path. Saved the file. Went back to use the files and all but one of my files is missing its clipping path.they are all in the same folder. in years of making and saving clipping paths I have never had this happen. Any Ideas? Its about 8 hours of work and I really don't want to be up all night redoing them. Please help.

I just experienced this problem. I have Photoshop cs6, and I send a Photoshop file with a saved clipping path to 2 different people. When both received the file, the clipping path was gone, missing, deleted. My PSD file still has the clipping path.
I archived the PSD file inside a Gzipped Tarball, and send a link to download it.
Is this a bug?

Title Presets missing. Premiere Pro CS6

My title presets are missing in premiere pro, This occurs when I go to create a title and no presets are available. I have downloaded adobe encore CS6 fucntional content and Adobe Prtemire Pro CS6 Functional Content, as suggested by adobe and other forums. I just want title templates/preset to make workflow easier. I hope there is a simpel solution rather than a string of intricate procedures.
