Missing Data Cleanse package option in Data services Repository Manager

Hello, I am trying to create a repository for data cleansing package repository in database using Repository Manager, but the drop down list box is not giving an option "Data Cleansing" to create repository. Only three values are available (Local,CEntral, and Profile).
Using Data Services 3.0 Version. Any help or any workarounds creating a repository with our Repository Manager.
Thanks,
Kiran

We searched log files and found no errors.
We then decided to attempt re-creating the local repository.  We checked the Show Details box.
The local repository was reported has having been successfully created.  This was the result we had before.
We then checked for canned functions and the list matched to those of our Oracle and SQL Server local repositories.
So, best guess is that something went wrong on the initial local repository creation that was either not reported or reported, but we missed.

  • Missing Data Services Guides?

I want to develop an adapter for BusinessObjects, and have been reading the Integrator's Guide, where two pieces of documentation are mentioned that I cannot find anywhere.  The Data Services Management Console: Administrator Guide and the Data Services Reference Guide.
Any thoughts on where these documents might be located?  I have the Technical Manual, Designer Guide, Tutorial, and Integrators Guide, but feel like the other two aforementioned guides might be of some utility to me as well.
    Thanks

  • Best Practices in Data Services Application Management

    Hi,
Any best practices in the below items
    1. How do we make data services application 100% available. Do we have any other options other than adding nodes.
    2. What are the steps we should follow during server failure and DB failure. Is there any order should be followed to start the servevices.
    3. how to aviod application service down/Failure issues.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    1. How do we make data services application 100% available. Do we have any other options other than adding nodes.
Server group options is available, Regarding 100% available it's based on Hardware and OS capability.
if Hardware and OS supports,  BODS also will support ( BODS will switch over one system to other when main  system is going down )
    2. What are the steps we should follow during server failure and DB failure. Is there any order should be followed to start the servevices.
    Please see above answer.

  • BO Data Services Change Management with SAP Charm Functionality

    HI Gurus,
We have been tasked with automating the Change Management activity for Business objects data Services. The same is currently performed as a manual task which could be prone to errors. We have researched all over the place and we have not been able to find any documentation on in order to carry out this activty through Solution Manager ChaRm functionality.
So, Can SAP Solution manager perform the LCM (Life Cycle management) for Business objects Data Services via means of it CHaRm functionality?
Right now we know that the components for BO are present on Solution manager within the SMSY transaction. We have also been able to create the complete landscape within the same and create a project template for it.
Now the challenge is how do we configure ChaRm in order to move the DI code from one repository to the next?
here are the requirements we are trying to implement:
    1. Create a full landscape for Business Objects Data Services within SMSY in Solution manager
    2. Create Project template for Business objects Data Services
    3. Create RFC connections to Database and BODS Client Servers
    4. Configure Charm in order to automate Change Management for Data Service
    Please advice.

  • Data Services repository tables and views: ALVW_MAPPING is empty

    Hello.
I need to read via SQL (from inside a DataServices job) the name of target table used in the dataflow of a job.
My problem is that the metadata repository view ALVW_MAPPING is empty, as the tables underneath AL_COLMAP and AL_COLMAP_TEXT are empty. Some other tables, for instance AL_INDEX and AL_COLUMN, are not empty.
Can anyone help me with a solution or an explanation to this? Thank you in advance.

AL_INDEX and AL_COLMAP store metadata of tables that you import in Datastore
AL_COLMAP and AL_COLMAP_TEXT table store column mapping information that use in Dataflow, this data is usually populated when you save Dataflow, check if the "automatically calculate column mapping" option is checked in the Tools-> Options window in Designer
if you are not seeing any data in these 2 tables, then go to Designer, select Datastore tab in object library right in the Datastore workspace select Repository menu option and select Calculate Usage Dependency once that completes do select Calculate Column Mapping from the same menu, once that completes check if you see data in these 2 tables

  • Creating Repositories using MS SQL Server DataBase in Data Service Reposito

    HI All,
I installed BODS and I am trying to create repository using Data Service Repository Manager but I am getting the following error message :
Cannot open connection to the repository.  The error message from the underlying DBMS is <ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <localhost> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.>. Notify Customer Support.>. (BODI-20006)
An error occurred during creation of the local repository. (BODI-300054)
While installing BODS i used the option to create DB .... Before that even I had Microsoft SQL server installed for MDM which was working fine (Able to Log on and so on)...
Do I need to install Oracle in order to create repositories? How to proceed further please suggest.
    many Thanks
    Rajeev.

    Hi!
What version of SQL Server are you using for the repositories? Maybe the error is because DS can not create repositories in SQL Server 2008. You can read and write data with SQL2008, but you need to create the repositories in SQL2005 or another RDBMS. I'm not sure when DS is going to be able to create them in SQL2008.
I hope this could help you. Greetings!
    See you

  • Using variables within the definition of ExcelWorkbook in the Data Services 4.2

    Hi Together
We have installed the Datas Services 4.2 with a matching SAP BO 4.1 Installation
The Repositories are hosted on a MS SQL Server 2012R2.
The System is a Windows 2012 R2 Server
Within a Repository I try to define an ExcelWorkbook.
Within this Definition I need a
    Format name,
the Directory where the Excelfile is in the File System,
    the name from the ExcelFile.
To define the Access method I will use the Namend Range.
Is it possible to use for the Namend Range a defined variable with a namend Range.
I’ve tried a lot notations, but I am not able to use that Variable.
What is a possible Solution ?

    Hello Friend,
You indicate to go to the Central Management Console (http://server/BOE/CMC), click the Data Services option.
Select the Configure a new Data Services Repository, complete all fields and click Test Connection. If everything is ok and return success message, click save.
The repository created will appear in your repositories list, then right click it and select the User Security option. Make sure that the Data Services Administrator Users group is present and with Full Control access. To ensure that your user has access, you can also add it through the Add Principals option. Select the desired user, pass to the other side and click the Add option and Assign Security and include Full Control permission and apply.
In version 4.2 the ability to create access groups within the Central Repository was added.
To create and manage such groups need access SAP Data Services Management Console:
    http://server/DataServices/launch/launch.do
Once you have successfully logged on, click the Administrator button.
On the left side there are some options, espanda the Central Repositories option and if you have properly created the Central Repository it will appear in the list.
Click User and Groups note that by default comes a set created (digroup), select the User tab and click the option later add.
Then enter the information which user, group, status and description and apply the changes.
Made these procedures you can enable your central repository through the DS Designer and create new groups.
    Hope this helps.

If I truncate this table and re-run the DS job, it will not populate the VALUE and DF_NAME fields.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? The target source is BW.
Seems like a bug to me.

  • Data Services - Open hub read - No Open Hub DTP error

    Hi,
I have created a open hub destination in BW (7.0 SP21), created transformation, DTP and process chain. In Data Services (3.2) I have created flow, job etc. and every thing seems to be as expected. However when I start the job in DS it terminates with an error:
1136     5624     BIW-230334     13-11-2009 12:28:22     Process Chain <ZTEST2> of Open Hub destination <ZTEST> at SAP system <.......> no more contains Open Hub DTP. Please reimport the Open Hub destination to execute the appropriate Process Chain.
I've tried re-activating everything in BW and also re-importing the OHD in BW, but nothing works. I've even tried to re-create everything from scratch. The process chain I've created do indeed contain an Open Hub DTP.
One addtional question: I've activated the process chain, but do I also need to schedule it in BW (like you do with e.g. process chains for time points to be used in Broadcasting)? Note, I've tried both scheduling/no scheduling and does not work either way.
    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jacob

You must implement following SAP Notes in SAP systems in order to make Data Services Open Hub functionality work correctly:
SAP Note  1270828 : (Open Hub Process chain is not imported into Data Services repository).
SAP Note  1294774:  (Open Hub import failed - when you call the module RSB_API_OHS_DEST_SETPARAMS, th system tries to open a GUI)
SAP Note 1330568 version 3: (This note has fixed "Process Chain <ZTEST2> of Open Hub destination <ZTEST> at SAP system <.......> no more contains Open Hub DTP. Please reimport the Open Hub destination to execute the appropriate Process Chain").
SAP Note 1079698 - 70SP16 (Enable check box "Automatically Repeat Red Requests in Process Chain" in the DTP Execute)
SAP Note 1346049:  (Error 028(OSOH): Request <n> cannot be locked.)
SAP Note 1338465 #with 1293589 as pre-requisite: (The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records.)
SAP Note 1342955: (0 data records transferred)

  • Post Installation steps of SAP Data services

    Hi,
Could someone provide screenshots/steps  of the post installation of SAP Data services on Unix.
    Thanks,
    Rajiv

    Hi Rajiv,
Once DS is installed you need to do few more things to make the system ready to use
    Configuring repositories
Create a database for the repository on your database server (take assistance from DBA)
Create the repository in the database with the Repository Manager.
Register the repository in the CMC with the Data Services application(here you have to give database details which you have given for creating repository (refer point a &b)
Assign user access to the repository with the Data Services application.
    Configuring users and groups
Log into the CMC Use Admin credentials
Create user accounts and assign them to Data Services user groups with the Users and Groups application.
Assign repository access to your users and groups with the Data Services application
    Configuring Job and Access Servers
Add and configure Job Servers with the Server Manager
    Add the Job Server configuration
Associate local and profiler repositories with the Job Server
Add and configure Access Servers with the Server Manager
restart the Data Services service and verify that the Job and Access Servers are running
Deploying web applications (BODS automatically installed web app if not you need  to manually deploy
    Configuring profiler repository connectivity
Login to the Central Management Console (CMC) and register the local repository and select the repository  connection type on the Data Services Repository Properties screen
Register the profiler repository and select the connection type to also TNS-less or DSN-less.
