Hello. I've got a problem with my iPod and I don't know what to do ... Each time I plug my iPod into my pc, it says missing X folder (don't remember the name ... Something in the ipod_control folder ... ) so each time i try to update it, my computer doesn't recognise it, and i can't put anything on it ... Error -48 I think ... Hope somebody will be able to solve my problem.

Take this as a lesson. I strongly recommend that you reconsider your back up policy. You should do regular backups of your PC to external media such as an external hard drive. Your computer or your internal hard drive could fail at any time and you would lose everything you had on it without an external backup. In you current case, you could have restored the previous contents of your iPod from a previous backup stored on an external hard drive.

When you have the iPod connected to iTunes, click on the Video tab once you have selected your iPod in iTunes. Are you only syncing unwatched programs?

When I changed to my new MacBookPro I had to authorize it although I used TimeMachine to transfer my settings and data.

Because once it has charged enough to be powered on as soon as you turn it on it says battery is at 20% and will not charge anymore after that, it just runs for about 5-10 minutes before the battery dies again. The battery cycles discharge/recharge daily and its not on the charger at full charge for more than a couple hours and is never totally dead for more than a couple of hours.

Try a soft reset - press the home and power bottons and keep them pressed until the Apple logo comes on. Then see if you can access Settings.

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Why is the iPod Touch (4th Gen) missing the video setting for TV Out?

Has anyone else noticed that in the iPod Touch (4th Gen) that there isn't a video setting for TV Out? It's not on the new iPhone either. I wanted to attach an AV Composite cord from my iPod to my TV. It won't work because of the missing video setting. You would think that since this is new technology, it would have that setting. After all, my iPod from 2005 has that feature and works just fine with the $39 AV Compostie cable from Apple. I was hoping to display what I have on my iPod Touch to my TV, but discovered that I couldn't. When I called Apple, they thought at first I had a defective cable. But later told me that i OS 5 left out the video out feature as if by mistake. Could anyone elaborate on this issue? I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

I am well aware that setting was on the iPod before iOS 5! My question is why is it missing? Because right now, Apple is selling the AV Composite cable claiming it's compatible with the iPod Touch (4th Gen) and it's not. Thank you!

As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

I have now solved it. I signed out of my iTunes account and then held down both the power buttons until the apple appeared. When I signed back in it started downloading.

If everthing goes as planned, your app date wil be restored to the iPod. To help guard againste a possible mishap. sync (iTunes also creates a backup) the iPod before the udate and caopy the backup file to a save location in case something happens. The backup is located here:
