Missing deleted messages

I have been unable to locate email's recently deleted from my "Mail" inbox. They don't appear in the Trash...where did they go.

Check the setting in Mail > Preferences > Accounts tab > Highlight the accout on the left > Mailbox behaviors tab > check "move deleted messages to the trash mailbox".

If I delete one of my duplicate ICloud accounts, will I loose all my mail? I was searching for where I was getting the deleted mail and unchecked the store deleted messages on the server. That made changes to my account and now under accounts in mail I have the same account twice. I do not want to loose my mail and am affraid to delete one of the accounts.

Im trying to avoid a reinstall so am hoping there is a supporting file I have missed that can be trashed. I have also just tried trashing the ~/library/mail folder but there is no change to the check box behaviour.

I have the same problem. Thankfully one which was missing came back. I printed it out and made a PDF of it since it was an important one I'd been looking for.
I have three icloud email accounts which folders for each one. Now they mostly come up in my inbox instead of the correct folder and they won't move to the correct one.
Come on Apple, fix this.

"Missing fonts" message when the fonts are *not* missing

I get the "Missing fonts" message fairly often for fonts that are not really missing. Then I have to specify the fonts that I used to create a given document, which are installed on my Windows XP system and have never left.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there any way to stop it from recurring? It happens every so often, not every time I open a document but every once in a while. It involves a particular set of fonts (Geometric).
Any suggestions? Thanks.

No. They're scattered through all of the Adobe application folders. Do a search for AdobeFnt*.lst (using the *) and it should find them all. They get rebuilt automatically as required after deletion. Don't delete any file ending in .db.

G/L account is missing (1) -[message 131-46]

Hello,
I have created a new company and have all the master data uploaded. I have also set all the accounts on G/L determination. When i try to create a A/R Invoice from the SBO client application i get the error "G/L account is missing (1) -[message 131-46]". I am unable to understand which G/L is missing.
If I try to upload same A/R Invoice through DIAPI i get a different error message "No item cost was found [INV1.WhsCode][line: 1]"
I am running SBO2005 SP01 PL29

I am not sure 100% what the issue is, but if you get the error "G/L account is missing (1)", one thing you should check for is a missing account in the item definition, in the supplier definition or in the GL Account determination.
The issue occurs because there were no accounts defined when trying to add a marketing document. The document is added as a draft document, accounts were then set up and then the draft document was finally attempted to be added but the draft was not connected to the stock account. It is recommended to first define accounts, to delete the original draft document and create a new marketing document draft.

Missing File Messages / iWeb adding -1 to files names

I am trying to create a website using iWeb '09 but I am have an issue with missing file messages. I created the site without an issue. Opened it up the following day and immediately received missing file messages for almost all pages on the site. iWeb appends a -1 to valid file names ex: IMG_12345 -> iWeb message = missing file IMG_12345-1. I am also receiving the missing file messages with the template images which are not being used on the website (dragged and dropped my images over template images).
I tried to delete the pages then recreate them but that didn't work either. I also deleted the com.apple.iWeb.plist file (emptied trash) then restarted, held shift while rebooting, changed template to a different template then changed it back...nothing is working.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Another thing I noticed; I have two "domain.sites2" files, one in Users >> Folder >> Application Support >> iWeb and the other is in a personal directory. They are both modified today two hours apart. I just opened and closed iWeb and the file in the application support directory shows a modification not the one in the personal directory.
The first five or so times I opened iWeb I had to acknowledge the iWeb welcome screen before it wouldn't come back. It seems that my iWeb may be corrupted and have to be reinstalled?

Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
It's ok to do this even though v10.7.5 is already installed. The combo replaces any missing system files.
Restart your Mac after the combo installed then try Safari.
If that doens't help, try repairing permissions.
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Repair Disk Permissions
You should see: Repair Permissions Complete when it's finished.
Then try Safari.

Mac mail automatically deletes messages from two weeks prior

I'm using Mac Mail on 10.6.8 - snow leopard. I use this program for my work emails and mail will automatically delete messages in my Inbox that are two weeks old. The email account is IMAP. I have looked in the "Account Preferences/ Advanced" and can not find a setting to correct this. What am I missing?

Are you sure it's Mail that's doing this? It could be on the other end (the server end).
Mac Mail has a preference for "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message", but there's no choice for 2 weeks, so I doubt that's it.

Deleting Messages from Server Using Different Computers

I access my mail from a number of different computers and devices and I would like to be able to delete a message from the server when I delete it from any of the computers/devices so that when I check my mail from a different computer/device, the previously deleted message is no longer there.
As it is now, the only option I seem to have is to remove the message from the server after I have retrieved my mail. As a result, I have to maintain one master computer for my mail and only when I delete messages from that computer are they deleted from the server.
So, is there a way to delete a message from the server after I have deleted it from any of my computers or devices?
BTW, I am using a POP account.

I'm using Imap (1and1.com) I have noticed that when email gets automatically deleted off my sever it's later missing from Mail. I cannot find any setting in Mail to keep all my email or a setting on my server to keep my mail. I often have to refernce back to business emails.

Apple mail won't stop deleting messages from Gmail server

Hello everyone:
For a long time I had my mail set up to delete messages from the gmail server, but recently I changed my mind. I tried changing the settings to remove copy after a month and nothing happened, i.e. immediately deleted messages from server. Now I've tried changing it to never remove a copy and it is still doing it. What am I missing?

I should say: it does leave a copy in "all mail" but deletes it from the inbox section so they are unavailable on my iPhone as soon as my laptop grabs it....

Selectively deleting messages with POP.

Hi All,
So I've yet to figure out how to get IMAP working my Yahoo email because I've got a @pacbell.net domain name... So I'm using POP for now.
On my last "smart" device, the Palm 650, using POP, you could choose to delete messages that you've downloaded 1) on the device 2) on the server or 3) on both. I haven't figured out how to do it on the iPhone.
Am I missing something or is that feature missing?

PTBoater, thanks for the note. It looks like the "when removed from inbox" option would do what I want, but it doesn't seem to work for me...
Is there some trick to using this feature? Messages deleted, another POP access initiated from the iPhone, time waited, no server deletion...
In fact, that setting doesn't appear to persist - after setting it, going back in to ensure it's set, waiting 10 mins, the setting goes back to "never"...

Deleteing messages with status 003 in persistence layer

my XI DB is getting bigger and i have found that after running the report RSXMB_SHOW_STATUS , it has Message Status:      003 Number:          5.400.374 messages in DB .. my question is how can i delete theese messages from XI ? what need to be done after delting theese from DB ? will reorg is sufficint ?
apprciate your urgent sujestion in deleteing status 003 (5.400.374) messages permently from the DB ( please see the extract from the report also)

POP Servers and deleting messages

I created an account to retrieve my messages from my ISP thru POP, but when I delete them thru Mail, they remain on the server. Is there a setting that I'm missing to keep it synchronized? Thanks.

You can't synchronize mailboxes on the server with a POP type account but you can select when to delete messages from the server when downloaded by the Mail.app.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Advanced tab for the account preferences, select "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message:" and your choices below are:
Right Away
After one day
After one week
After one month
When moved from Inbox
I have it set to Right Away for my POP type accounts.
There is also a "Remove now" button which removes all available messages from the server.

How can I set up a new account without auto deleting messages on the server?

Ive got accounts on COMCAST.NET (are those imap accounts?) and when I created a user account on Thunderbird for one of them the autocreate process immedaitely started downloading messages from my server before I was able to set the "keep messages on server" flag. (Its been a few months, forgive me if I am not using the exact right option text but you get the idea.)
How can I create a Thunderbird account that will download all the message on my server (comcast.net) and leave them all there?
That's the only thing keeping me from switching to Thunderbird. Please help - comcast's online web client is not the most bug free thing in the world.
(Note, I am setting up a new win7 system, had been using OE 6 on winXP. I assume I am better off trying this than running OE in XP in a virtual window - and even if I moved my old message bases from XP I still need to create an account that won't immediately start downloading/deleting messages from my server before I can configure it not to.)

Comcast only offers POP accounts, and one way to set up the account and enter all the settings before it connects to the mail server, might be to do it Offline:

Why are deleted messages not going to deleted folder

In Account settings > server settings I have set it to move deleted messages to a particular folder but thunderbird appears to be permanently deleting messages as I can't find them anywhere.
This is with an IMAP account.

What messages? iMessages? Mail?
