Missing dependencies to run steam with arch provided versions of libs

Hi everyone.
My system is 64 bit arch.
And i am trying to run via terminal with "STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steam" command.
But this is impossible because i need to install some 32 bit libraries before that. So to find what libraries are needed i used these commands.
cd ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32
$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=".:${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}" ldd $(file *|sed '/ELF/!d;s/:.*//g')|grep 'not found'|sort|uniq
It gave me a lot of libraries to install and i installed most. But i couldn't find these libraries.
    libdbus-glib-1.so.2 => not found
    libnm-glib.so.4 => not found
    libnm-util.so.2 => not found
    libudev.so.0 => not found
    libusb-1.0.so.0 => not found
Where can i find 32 bit versions of these libraries.
Thanks in advance.

How did you install steam and have you read the wiki article?

  • Depreciation Run fails with out providing a proper error

    Hi Experts
I have some where around 14,000 assets in my fixed assets master in SAP B1. Currently it takes 15 hours to run the depreciation. But from December after it runs for 15 hours it shows the status as Posting journal entries but after a while it fails the run saying the depreciation run has been failed and cancelled. But there is no error description. When i check the log file in the %temp% folder also there is no error given.
How can i solve this problem this is critical to our operation, please let me know the settings that i have to check and everything
    Thanks & Regards
    Kanishka Wickrama

    Hi Gordon
When we ran the depreciation in November it  was successful, but in December we added some where around 2,000 more assets. After that only the depreciation started failing again.   So is there any criteria that i have to check in the database.and is there anything that i can do to speed up the depreciation run.
Do you know any other third party add-on that we can use to manage the fixed assets because currently i find it very hard to trouble shoot.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Original file missing after sync-ing folder with PS edit versions

Here's an oddly specific and challenging problem for you, I bet you can't figure it out (I'm trying to pluck your competitive strings).
I just noticed that some of my photos are missing from the library in lightroom, specifically the original versions of photos that have virtual copies edited in photoshop in folders that have since been synchronized.  Weird, and very anoying.  The files are still there (in wondows explorer) but when I try to re-import them lightroom doesn't see them, only the PS edited copies (.tif files).  I told lightroom to allow duplicates and it sees all the photos in the folder except those missing ones.  This does not happen to my PS edited virtual copies in folders that have not been synchronized.  It is not a matter of stacking, or at least Lightroom does not think the PS copies are stacked at all so I can't unstack them.  This is really annoying and I'm hoping someone can help me get them back into lightroom (preferably with the accompanying development settings) and also how to avoid this problem in the future.  If you need any further details or screenshots let me know
PS: I import files from my camcorder using a different program because lightroom does not acknowledge that particular video file format.  That's why I have to synchronize some folders and not others.

The first group are from one of the synchronized folders so only the PS copy shows up in lightroom.  The second group are from a folder than hasn't been synchronized so the PS and original files both show up in lightroom.

  • Running Steam

When running steam, it says: "OpenGL GLX extensions not supported by display".
What can I do to solve this?

How can I make steam work?

    Still doesn't work.
I've tried running `nvidia-xconfig` (which I havn't before), but after that, xorg cannot find the screen.
How can I make sure that the NVIDIA driver is the active GPU driver?
Edit: I ran nvidia-settings and it assured me I was NOT running the nvidia driver. It advised me to run nvidia-xconfig, after which xorg server won't start (i'll try again and get a specific log file)
    Edit 2:

i did a fresh install of arch a few days ago and steam stopped working on the 2nd. i don't know why.
    what i tried so far:
    purge all and reinstall steam
    and
    xset +fp /usr/share/fonts/100dpi/
    in vain.

sry for the hun locale, i'll set it to english if you guys need it. it mostly says "interrupted" and "unsuccesful" at places.

It seems indeed to be the locale. I have set en_DK.UTF-8 and what worked for me was running steam with a different locale, namely en_US.UTF-8.
    LANG=en_US.UTF-8 steam
I got the idea here, but did not want to change my locale permanently.

  • SNP Optimizer run ends with error: Error when determining Customizing data

    Hi All
Can you help please what settings are missing: SNP optimizer run canceled with error "Error when determining Customizing data".
    Thanks
    Best Regards
    Andrey

On integration tab of SNP optimizer profile,
maintain 'regard as customer demand' for both dependent demands and distribution demands for fixed orders.
By default it is 'regard as hard constraint' which should be changed.

  • Usb game controller compatible with arch

I just rediscovered mupen64 and snes9 and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good usb controller that will run easily with arch. I never got mupen64 working well enough in leopard to warrent buying a controller before. I've been looking at
    this:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductRe … 6826127209
    or this:

any other suggestions/confirmation that either of those works well.

I'm using a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad right now and it works perfectly.  I'm not really playing any games on Linux at the moment but I do fancy myself a game programmer so I test the stuff I'm working on with this pad.
I agree with the above posters that "PC" controllers seem to always lack the quality of "console" controllers.  I went to a local Gamestop to buy a "wired" Xbox 360 gamepad but they told me they didn't have any and Microsoft isn't making them anymore.  So, I bought the Logitech gamepad and I'm pleased with it.  It doesn't seem to be of low quality at all.  I am glad in a small way that I bought it instead of the Microsoft gamepad because I prefer not to support Microsoft if I can find a suitable alternative.  Kind of like why I use only Linux .

  • Using different versions of libs with certain programs

This has been something bugging me for a while now in Arch, but up til now not enough to start trying to find a solution.
What is going on is that I have a variety of programs I would like to run from /home/usr_name/software which is the dir where I stick stuff I don't want/need to install. A lot of programs in this category come with their own versions of libs that differ from those I often have installed elsewhere in the usual places. The problem I run into is that Arch always prefers the installed libs over the ones found locally in the programs own dir tree.
Is there something I can do to change this default behavior, or at least something I can add in the terminal each time I run one of these programs to force it to look where I want it to for the local versions of the libs?

Thanks Allan, I'll give that a try in a bit.
Got a little side tracked as the UPS guy showed up with my new graphics tablet shortly after I made that post.
Once I look into it and try it out on a few things I will come back and update how it went and mark this solved.

  • Right-click on a VI with missing dependencies hangs LabVIEW

    Here's the flow:
    1)  Download a VI from the forums that has a missing dependency
    2)  Add the VI to a project
    3)  Right-click on the VI to see if it's set to run-on-open
    4)  Wait a very long time for the dependency load to fail
How do you all handle the forum VIs? Is it as simple as checking the Files view for missing deps - and only RMB if none are missing?
I can't find any of the "silently ignore all" posts/ideas except for opening refs.
When I create new VIs and force a dependency failure, there is not a long delay.

How do you tell if the VI is set to Run When Opened?  If you are opening the properties dialog, the VI still has to load.
    ***Just performed an experiment***
Opening the VI from the project overrides the Run When Opened.  Good thing to know.
But still, when you try to open a VI and there are missing dependencies, you get a dialog that has the Ignore All on it.

  • Overwriting Dev and Stage DB's with Production creates Missing Dependencies

When I refresh my Dev and Stage environments by restoring the DBs with those from Production, I get numerous Missing Dependency errors.
We have lots of custom WSPs, and I think that the cause is that the production WSPs are overwriting those in the other environments without first retracting/deleting them.
Is there a way to restore without creating these errors?
    Thanks,
    Scott

if the custom WSP is deployed as a sandbox solution, then it'll be included in the content database refresh.
the missing dependency stuff is all about finding GUIDs that SharePoint can't resolve... whether that's a web part or a feature.
The retraction/deletion process doesn't actually clean up contents in the content database (web parts in use, etc)... it just handles the synchronous deployment of the feature between servers. So regardless of how a custom WSP is deployed/updated/etc, missing
    dependencies can happen.
The question you need to address, is tracking down the missing dependencies, and determining whether they are still in use in PROD (perhaps the component was removed, but the web part still exists on a page), and if so making sure it's also available in
DEV/TEST... assuming it's necessary... if a web part isn't available in DEV/TEST, maybe it doesn't matter, and maybe the missing dependency isn't an issue.

  • Firefox crashes or runs but with splotches missing color, how do i fix it?

when I start firefox my desktop starts flashing on and off and when it returns there are splotches missing color. firefox then either crashes or runs but with the colors muted and images distorted.

    Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

It's quite simple. When the AUR package was created, the current version of Aptana was 1.0, but the source url links to the latest version. This was all ok until they released version 1.1 because then you suddenly have a completely new file that gets downloaded and because of this is will fail the md5 check.
It's very simple to fix though, in one of two ways. Either just delete the md5sum=() array (changing pkgver=1.0 to pkgver=1.1 would also be a good idea), or download the PKGBUILD and in the same directory as you store it just run makepkg -g and replace the md5sum array with the resulting data (this would be the best way to handle this...).

  • Cisco PacketTracer missing dependencies. [Solved]

    Hi,
So I was going to install packet tracer. I followed the tutorial in the wiki section. <a href="https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PacketTracer">PacketTracer</a> Which seems a little thin I got to the part makepkg. here is the out put of what I did.

  • Setting up Steam on Arch worth the time? Better use Ubuntu/SteamOS?

    Hi,
I'm just wondering whether I want to invest as much time as it seems to cost to get games running on a 64 bit machine with Steam on Arch.
Should I just grudgingly set up a Ubuntu/SteamOS install? Would that actually be a lot easier? Is that actually a thing now?
What's your experience? Is it very much pain on Arch?

Right, I guess I'll be "That Guy:" The only person who can really answer the OP's question is the OP, given the vagaries of personal hardware and software configurations. What works on my machine with my OS configuration may not work on the OP's. Besides, as Awebb mentioned, SteamOS is going to be carefully crafted to work in a particular way, while Arch leaves it all up to the user. All anyone can say---or has said so far---is that it works for them.
The Steam runtime is self-contained; if you're running a 64-bit system then the Arch wiki page on Steam can walk you through installation, which consists of Steam and its dependencies (managed by pacman) and the 32-bit package for your graphics driver. In almost all cases the libraries needed for the games to run, as well as the client itself, are installed to ~/.steam and ~/.local/share/Steam, and Steam handles its own updates without touching the rest of the system. Just install Steam on Arch and give it a go. If it turns out using SteamOS works better, then just follow the wiki page in reverse to uninstall the packages on Arch, and delete the aforementioned directories. It only takes a minute to remove all traces of Steam itself.
Games' data are another matter, though. Some save data to ~/.local/share/*, others to ~/.config/*, others to ~/.*, but every game I've played via Steam saves data to a directory with an obvious name (like the title of the game or name of the publisher).

  • First time with Arch, minimal build: little niggles [solved]

Ok, I've been using *Buntu based Distros for a while now, this is my first time taking the plunge with Arch - chosen because it is a build in what you want distro.
I've wanted a minimal build install for a printserver project, this week I took the plunge with an old laptop.
I have it doing the printserver part, but there are some minor niggles. Let me detail what I have installed and what I want it to be able to do, before I detail these.
    Arch Base install with:
    CUPS
    LXDE
    Leafpad
    Xorg Intel video drivers.
    smartmontools
    firefox
WPA_Supplicant,as this system is to be a wireless printserver.
What I want this system to do:
Run most of the time in shell, no DE running. (This keeps it cool and quiet, as it is in a bedroom)
Only run the DE when startx is called, and have the DE able to be shut down without restarting the server.
serve printjobs from the moment it boots and connects to the wireless.
    What it currently does.
    Boot up, wait for login
When login, require WPA_supplicant, dhcpcd and Cupsd to be initialised before it can serve printjobs.
If DE is required, Xorg must be started in tty1, startlxde ran in tty2, and then manually switch to tty7 for the DE.=
I have a script to call when i login which starts WPA_Supplicant, dhcpcd, and cupsd in that order.
I would really like the interface to have a staticip but i dont know how to do that without the handy graphical tools that ubuntu provides.
Please can you help, at least point me in the right direction with these niggles? I have learned a lot about what is required to get a basic DE up and running, and im sure with your help I will learn more.

Ok, so I've gotten Cups and wicd autostarting, set the static ip from my router because else it wasnt getting DNS etc details and left it asking for that by dhcp.
Still having issues with the DE
    pedro_sland wrote:

I run xfce4 sometimes. I just run startxfce4 and it starts Xorg and displays the DE. I think that startx runs twm which you probably don't want so you might want to take a look at that. startx has a script it runs somewhere (I forget where but the wiki will know). When I'm done with xfce I just log out and it exits.
For me, this isnt working. startlxde on its own just goes to
    [root@yomiko ~]#
in tty1, and leaves me with a blank screen when i switch to tty7
I literally must call Xorg in one tty, startlxde in another and then manually shift to tty7 to see it.
    startx itself:
    -bash: startx: command not found
Even Xorg isnt happy being called on its own, that too goes to a blank screen, though it does at least switch to tty7
With Xorg called in tty1, when i call startlxde in tty2 i get dbug errors from pcmanfm though these seem to be just it informing its detected the HDD partitions.
there is a grumble early on in the process, before the debug errors, saying:
    Importing pynotify failed, notifications disabled.
Finally, I did add the line to .xinitrc the LXDE page in the wiki said to to allow startx to run:
    exec ck-launch-session startlxde
This is the only line in this file.
Currently running as root... I'm not going to complicate matters by adding a user until im sure i got it all running as root, bad practice or not!
Edit: A friend helped me solve it.
The package xorg-xinit held the startx script that was missing. I now get LXDE when i want and only when I want.
