Missing drivers after reformat

Hello,
I recently formatted my entire laptop's hard drive. I attempted to use HP's recovery manager through windows and using the "f11" key on start up. I tried a full factory restoration aswell as a the minimal software recovery options. The manager would format the drive fine, but once it attempted to install files it would encounter problems. I could never get a complete install. I burned a Windows 7 Home Prem disc. I formatted the entire hard drive, and removed the recovery partition to avoid a pesky dual boot option upon power up.
Windows was unable to find a vast majority of my PC's drivers. I bought my PC while on vacation in Australia, and brought it home to Canada. HP in North America doesnt support my laptop, luckily I could find "most" of the drivers on HP Australia's site. My problem is that I am still unable to locate drivers for 2 hardware components. Please refer to the photos for additional information. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Ken.

Hi:
Go to your notebook's support and driver page (since you told us everything except the model #), download and install the Realtek Card Reader driver (under the storage driver section), and the Broadcom Bluetooth software and driver (under the networking section).

  • Various missing drivers after re-installing Win7 64 bit on hp pavilion dv7-6111eo

    Aloha
First off... I'm no techy, geek or nerd... And I mean those words in the best way, to those who are.
In this case You need to see me like a kid in kindergarden, being taken by the hand, and being shown what to do, down the the last detail. Sad but true.
Without me knowing why, I experienced missing several DLL-files, and often got error messages about those.
A pain in the neck, so I re-installed Windows 7 64 bit, as I didn't want to mess with those DLLs missing.
After that re-installing, I couldn't get internet-connection to my router. Luckily I have a 10+ year old stationary, where I after some time found the driver I needed, so that works now.
But now it seems there's several other drivers missing/not been installed.
I got a little info, from another post, what to provide with info, and hope that will be enough. if not, then please let me know the additional info that may be needed, and where I can find those on my PC, so I can provide these.
    Missing drivers:
    Network Controller;
    Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008B&SUBSYS_53158086&REV_34
    SM Bus Controller;
    Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C22&SUBSYS_1659103C&REV_05
    Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller;
    Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_0194&SUBSYS_1659103C&REV_04
I have 4 USB-ports, but only one will work, the others don't respond, and I need all four running at the same time. Plus I'd like to have everything in order after I had to re-install Win 7.
I thank You in advance for any and every help I can get. Just have in mind, that I need the things carved into paper.

  • Missing drivers after upgrade to Win 7 in HP pavilion dv9500

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 32 bit and everything works except from 2 base system devices listed in device manager that need work. What should I do?

I have the same problem with you but I found out once you upgrade your pc to windows 7 there's always an issue. You'll try calling HP Tech, and they will refer you to PC techinician nearest to you because they said there's something wrong with you HD blah blah or your sound card is gone...need a new one. Well I nearly believe them until I stumbled what's causing my problem and I fixed it myself. Now I have no problem with my sounds missing or audio device missing. My Laptop has voice now non-stop.
The problem that cause wasn't about the hard drive or the sound card but it is about the CONFIGURATION OF YOUR PARENTAL ACCOUNT CONTROL IN WHERE YOUR AUDIO SOUNDS HAS TO BE USE. AFTER I SET MINE TO WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE RIGHT OPTION, SINCE THEN I HAVE NO MORE PROBLEMS ABOUT MY SOUNDS OR AUDIO DEVICE MISSING OR NO AUDIO DEVICE INSTALLED.
SOLUTION; Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts and Family Satefy. Click Parental Control. In the box at the LEFT SIDE you will see GAMING RATING SYSTEMS. Click Gaming Rating System and click administrator box Yes(if come out). In the box you will see some LOGO ICONS for you to choose in which gaming rating you want to use your sounds. This is where you must configure your computer what rating is compatible to use to run sounds in your Windows 7 from Windows Vista or Xp.
The previous option in my Laptop was in the 3rd option ESRB. Then I move it to the 2nd option that the LOGO is written in Chinese Language( Computer Software Rating Regulation). I click OK and then Restart. Since then I have no missing audio or missing sounds problems.
    I hope that helps.

  • Missing drivers after fresh installation of window 7 the base system device missing.

missing driver on  HP pavilion dv4 the base system device drive,as a result of these i cant access sound on system.

    Hi:
The base system device is most likely your card reader.
Missing audio is related to something else.
On the bottom of your PC on the sticker with the serial number, please post your p/n.
That will identify the specific model of your dv4 and I can send you the link to the drivers.
The p/n should be arranged similar to this:  AF846AW#ABA

  • Missing drivers after installing Win7

    Hallo
On my just new macbookpro, i installed an original Win7 home premium 32bit.
All seemed to go right, Windows is working ok, but most drivers are missing!
How to pick them up from internet if you cant't be connected to??
Where can i find them (the right ones)
    thanks

Below is reproduced a procedure the BC Install Manual suggests. The Windows install DVD can do the same sort of thing if it is the Windows drivers that are missing.
You can find the entire PDF document here:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup10.6.pdf
If You Have Problems Installing the Device Drivers
If it appears that the Boot Camp drivers weren’t successfully installed, try repairing them.
    To repair Boot Camp drivers:
1 Start up your computer in Windows.
2 Insert your Mac OS X installation disc.
3 If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorer and double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
4 Click Repair and follow the onscreen instructions. If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows
    Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
If you need to reinstall specific drivers, you can install one driver at a time. For example, if your built-in iSight camera isn’t working, you can reinstall just the iSight driver.
Individual drivers are in the Drivers folder on the Mac OS X installation disc.
    To reinstall a specific driver:
1 Insert your Mac OS X installation disc. 2 Quit AutoRun if it opens. 3 Using Windows Explorer, locate the driver that you want to reinstall. 4 Open the driver to start the installation.

Genius bar recently reformatted my Macbook Pro (Needed to get a new logic board installed) and I no longer have Pages on it. Any way I can get this back without paying for it?

  • Two missing drivers after instal

    Hi
I recently had to complete a fresh OS instal following the PCI card which ceased to want to be recognised by Windows.
That cured the problem but am left now with two devices not being recognies by the syste. One is SM Bus Controller and the other just states Unknown device.
I also note that it is only seeing one of the hard drives now and none of the ThinkPad short cut buttons work.
However, the lap top is funcioning normally.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this, have I missed a step somewhere.
    Thanks in advance,
    Liam
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It sounds like it may be your Intel Remote Systems Management, if I'm correct then try rebooting into your BIOS menu and find the Intel SM manager menu and disable it at the low BIOS level.
At next boot, the devices should be hidden from the OS and the new hardware detected issue / devmgmt.msc unknown devices should be gone.
Don't just sit there, take a second and use the Kudo's button to compliment the people who help you.

  • After-reformat drivers problem

Hi, I just reformatted my desktop and under device manager there are a few missing drivers, such as video controller, sm bus, ethernet, etc. I downloaded the drivers from the lenovo site and installed them, but the device manager still shows the unrecognized hardware...anybody know a fix?

download the ethernet files from the below given link
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67073
download and install the package afterwards download the system update function that should help you get all your drivers
if you still have problems with your pc you may want to get the pc doctor diagnostics available for your system
    Cheers and regards,

  • I can't go on OSX anymore, and I'm missing drivers.

I was installing Windows 7 Ultimate through Bootcamp. It went well, I had to reformat the Bootcamp partition since it said it wasn't NTFS, it was all okay.
Then, I noticed I was missing drivers, that I left on OSX.
Sad part is, I can't get on OSX, it won't let me. Only Windows.
Basically, I'm screwed with Windows Basic themes. Again.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
To start into Mac OS X, press X key while your Mac is starting, or press Option key and choose Macintosh HD. If you want to start always into OS X, open System Preferences > Startup Disk and select Macintosh HD.
On Mountain Lion, you have to download the Boot Camp drivers:
    1. Open Boot Camp Assistant and mark the option to download the Windows support software.
    2. It will ask you to burn them into a DVD or USB drive, so do that.
    3. When the Boot Camp drivers are on the DVD or USB, press Option key while your Mac is starting and select Windows to start into Windows.
    4. Install the Boot Camp drivers. Everything should work fine after that

  • After reformat everything went downhill.

    Late 2011 Macbook pro
my HD only shows 370 gigs avail of the 500g hdd also failing to download and install OS back. It gets to just over 25% of the download then time doubles and shortly after that It says cannot download. I have tried on 2 different internet connections.
So I ran into an issue w/ parallels and some other software and had a nightmare sorting it all out. So I did a boot into disk utility and whipped everything clear, reformat everything to factory, removed bootcamp ect. Left w/ the recovery partiton and the macHD that is all.  Now unless I did something wrong I seem to be missing a big chunk of space into a vast void.  100gigs seem to be gone.   I have looked at the partitions to make sure nothing was missed, I even reformat everything again.
Anyways I figured well let me get the os back on here and go from there. So I start to install OS back on. When I first start the download everything seems okay, says it will take 25 mins (50 meg connection at home). When I get to 25% (just guessing), the time goes up to 1 hour, then to 3... I figured okay no big deal. Now around 35% It stops and says it cannot download.
I have to now start over. I did, and bam samething... Well thinking maybe its my connection, I take a buddies place and try on his internet.. Same thing......
Now im several hours into this and still not able to get my OS back on.
So I guess 2 major questions, well 3.
    1. I dont remember if this Macbook came w/ a restore disk ( I norm keep everything in the box, no disk)
    2. The Hdd reading only 370 gigs, is this normal? Seems like I lost 100 gigs somewhere.  I do know when I was using bootcamp It said I had 80 something gigs partioned for that, then I removed/ reformat that partion, didnt see my "Macintosh HD" go up any.
    3. If not able to download this and keeps failing (trying again this morning) what options do I have?

After spending all morning working on this I cant get it to load from any connection. I made an apt w/ the Genius bar. I ahve never worked w/ them before so I dont know what to really expect. I have a bad feeling they are going to pitch buying the recovery thumbdrive off them. 70 bucks I dont have atm

  • T500 Windows 7 Wifi Connectivity/Missing Drivers

A few days ago, my T500 (Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit) crashed and went through a startup recovery process. When it was finally logged into Windows, I was unable to detect or connect to any wireless networks and Google Chrome (my primary browser) was gone.  After I couldn't find any restore points when running Windows Restore, I decided to just manually restore the missing components. I was able to connect to the internet via ethernet and reinstall Chrome (albeit missing all of my bookmarks and plugins), but still had issues with the wireless connection. Windows Network Diagnostics returned "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter," but was unable to troubleshoot the issue.
Windows Device Mangager showed no missing network adapter drivers, but under "Other devices" each of the four items were missing drivers:
    Base System Device (x2)
    PCI Serial Port
    PCI Simple Communications Controller
I've downloaded a number of drivers, (including several variants of Inter AMT and the Multi Card Reader, as suggested by similar threads), but none have addressed the four missing drivers. All attempts to update the drivers were unsuccessful.
Could the missing "Other devices" drivers be causing my wifi issues?
Are there drivers I can update them with?
Is an updated driver available for the wireless network adapter (currently 12.4.1.4; none of the downloads have updated it)?
Is it possible to recover my data from the old installation of Chrome without any backups or restore points? (obviously I should have been backing up my data)
    Thanks.
Lenovo T500, Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit; upgraded from Vista Ultimate 32-bit), T9600(2.8GHz), 4GB RAM, 256MB ATI Radeon HD3650, Intel 802.11agn wireless (Intel Wifi Link 5100)

I ran sfc /verifyonly and sfc /scannow; it said there some corrupt files and to check CBS.log. The file was fairly long, and I couldn't really discern any relevant information from it. Ctrl-F didn't find anything related to the driver. I don't know what, if anything, was fixed, but the driver issues still remain.
I've tried to manually delete the old 12.4.1.4 drivers with no sucess. Even as an administrator in safe mode, I still couldn't modify anything. SYSTEM and TrustedInstaller are listed as having full control over the files, and there was no option to change the permission settings (check boxes were grayed out).
Is there anyway to modify those permissions so I can delete the old drivers? Would it helpt to reinstall 12.4.1.4? I've looked for a download online but haven't found anything yet. The only other solution I can think of is reinstalling Windows 7. Does that sound like the right course of action? The wireless card and the other drivers haven't had any issues up until now. It seems like some system files were corrupted when it went through the startup repair that started all of this.
    Thanks
