That is because you haven't. This is Metadata only editing. UNtill you output and designate a resoltion and size LR has no way to answer those.

How can I edit lightroom 5 smart previews on mac book pro (mbp) when the lightroom 5 master image files are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp? So far when I try to disconnect the external HD from the mbp, I get the following pop up window: The disk "external hard drive A" couldn't be ejected because "Lightroom" is using it. Quit that application and try to eject this disk again. When I do that and restart Lightroom 5, the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - Select Catalog screen pops up but doesn't list my external hard drive A as a choice.
I've reviewed Adobe's Lightroom Help | Smart Previews Lightroom 5 web page and still haven't been able to figure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.Your internal HDD. by default, is named 'Macintosh HD'. From what information you supplied, it looks like there is already a Lightroom catalog installed on you local (internal) HDD using the standard naming convention Adobe uses as well as a Lightroom catalog on your external drive which you created. To be sure of which catalog Lightroom is loading when it starts up, To do this, start Lightroom as you normally would. After it starts, select the Lightroom menu item, then select the Catalog Preferences item and finally, navigate to the General tab. The Location information will tell you exactly what catalog Lightroom is opening by default. This will likely be the Photography Mac Book Pro Versions catalog on your external HDD. Once that is confirmed, you are ready to proceed. As an additional test/verification, you can shut down Lightroom and, this time, start Lightroom while holding down the ALT/OPTION key. This will cause Lightroom to pause and display a screen which will allow you to chose a different catalog to open. Navigate to the /Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom folder and select the Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat file. When Lightroom comes up, there should be no previews or folders as this catalog should be empty. Now you can be certain which catalog is being used and which catalog has all your data and you are ready to migrate your current catalog. Shut down Lightroom.
To migrate your current catalog, use Finder to locate your Photography Mac Book Pro Versions folder on your external drive. Select the folder and select COPY from the context menu. Next, use Finder to navigate to the /Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom folder on you internal HDD. You can start at the Macintosh HD level and work your way down by opening each level (Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures). Select the /Pictures folder and then select PASTE... from the context menu. When the COPY/PASTE is complete, you should see the following files on the Macintosh HD:

Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions
The Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom folder will contain the empty default catalog the Adobe created when Lightroom was installed and Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions will contain a copy of the catalog you created on your external HDD.
You are almost done now. Make sure your external drive is still attached for this step. Restart Lightroom using the ALT/OPTION key again. When the Select Catalog screen appears, select the Choose a Different Catalog button (lower left side). When you do, a Finder window will open to allow you to navigate to a catalog of your choosing. Navigate to Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions and select the file Photography Mac Book Pro Version.lrcat. This is the copy you just created. Select the Open button and Lightroom should start. You should see all of your previews and settings just as before. Also, in the left hand panel, all of your folder should show up and none of them should be dimmed and none of your previews should display a small exclamation point badge. Either a dimmed folder name or an exclamation point badge indicates that Lightroom can't find the associated image file. If everything looks good, go to the Lightroom menu, select Preferences and then select the General tab. Under Default Catalog, select an option to either load the LAST catalog opened or select the Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions catalog from the drop down. Shut down Lightroom and then restart it normally. This time, when Lightroom starts, you should be viewing the new copy of your catalog. You can confirm this by looking at the General tab on the Catalog Preferences screen (Lightroom/Catalog Preferences menu items). Shut down Lightroom once again and this time, eject your external drive before restarting. This time, your folders in the left hand panel will be dimmed but you should be able to work with your smart previews. If Lightroom should display a Select Catalog screen with the external drive detached, double check your settings as it indicates Lightroom is still looking at the copy of the catalog on the external drive rather than the new copy you made.
Finally, if you are seeing dimmed folders and/or exclamation point badges with the external drive attached, this indicates a problem. You can select any folder and select Update Folder Location from the context menu. This will allow you to navigate to the copy on the external drive and select it. Lightroom will then update the catalog (select to synchronize the content). This will not only clear the dimmed folder problem but also remove the exclamation point badges for all photos in that missing folder. However, it may indicate that not all went well with the copy of the catalog so make sure to verify all went well. You can use the Get Info option on the two folders. You should see the same number of files/folders for both the copy on the internal drive as well as on the external drive but you can't rely on the byte count because of the possibility of differences between the geometry of the two drives. Lightroom not updating main preview with develop changes. Steps taken, please help...
I have CC photographers package with the latest Photoshop and Lightroom (5.7) installed. Starting yesterday when I make changes to the develop sliders the image doesn't change. The filmstrip preview does but the main preview does not. If I switch to a different image and back I can see the changes but I can't edit that way. I purged caches, increased their size, made a new catalog, uninstalled (and left over files) and ran CC cleaner on the registry then rebooted and re installed. I did not uninstall CC or Photoshop. How can I make the slider changes show up in real time again? It isn't that the changes are lagging. I can change a slider and it WILL NOT change the image no matter how long I wait, but if I switch to another photo and back the changes show up immediately. Searching Google yielded only results about smart previews and was not helpful to me. I am not using smart previews and the actual RAW files are on the same machine Thanks everyone!
I don’t know for sure, but if it just started, not when you installed LR 5.7, then something changed on your system. A display-update issue would perhaps be related to video drivers, so did your system’s video drivers get updated, yesterday, or did you install some game that changed something?
About the only thing I can suggest in this regard is to try rolling back your video drivers or installing the latest video drivers from the video-card manufacturer’s site, or if they have a list of older drivers, archived, then try installing the preview version or two back. -

LR 5: Photo edits not showing in main window of Develop module
I just now installed LR5, converting my LR3 catalog to LR5 catalog. Everything seemed to go fine. I picked one photo and converted to the 2012 process. The new sliders appeared.
The problem: Any changes I make are seen only in the Navigator window, not the main window. I figured there had to be a simple fix, but I've scoured the web and can find no one having similar problems. Any ideas?Ok, I feel a wee bit sheepish. I closed LR and reopened. No more problem. I converted another photo and could see the edits in the main window--without restarting LR.

Hi we want to install a local enviroment to test sap netweaver, in particular, sap portals.
We have seen that there are two edition and I have some questions:
1.-What's the diference between the ABAP and JAVA edition of the sneak preview sap netweaver? The abap does not include the portals, true?
2.-is possible to install both, ABAP and JAVA edition of the sneak preview sap netweaver?
3.-Are there installation guides and how-to of the sneak preview sap netweaver?

Best Regards1) The ABAP side is more of the SAP basis platform which R/3 runs on top of. You have ABAP programs, Data Dictionary, Function modules, etc. Portals does NOT run on this side. If you are just looking for portals, then just install the java stack.

Please check your Firefox Installation's version. (can be found by clicking the main menu, either clicking or hovering over the help button, and then clicking about firefox in the sub menu). depending on how long ago you set up sync you may still be using the older sync version. firefox 29 introduced a new (and might i add far less tedious) sync version. see [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync|this Mozilla support article]] for information on upgrading your sync to the new version.

Accessing internal table of main program inside function module...
I have function module say ZFUNC and main program say ZMAIN and internal table defined as IT_TAB inside ZMAIN but not passed as parameter to Function module ZFUNC.
If I want to access the field value of IT_TAB of main program ZMAIN inside ZFUNC during debugging then, I simply put <b>(ZMAIN)IT_TAB-amount</b> in ABAP debugger and then change it when the debugger is inside ZFUNC.
How can I write code to change the value of internal table of main program in function module ZFUNC instead of doing in debugger ? I guess I have to use some field symbols, but not sure. Please suggest.

Rajesh.Yes, you do need to use a field symbol. Say for example, you had a internal table called IMARC in your program and you want to access it later in a funciton module, you would do something like this.

Or if I have made an error I just cannot see.
When previewing template or html pages in IE
it seems to be hit or miss if I see them or not.
All is fine when previewed in Firefox or when published.

I have a alv report which is showing fine but when i try to export it to say excel sheet or do print preview some of the data is missing. Can anyone tell me how to fix this. or at least point to some document that discuss this problem.

Heya - I was sent a form in PDF format that I need to fill out but I'm not sure how I can edit it and save my changes, can anyone tell me?
And does Preview let me add new fields to an existing form? Like say it's a document that was scanned and visually has the fields but no digitally?
Thanks!Preview.app is just that - a viewer. It is not an editor but does have some very limited editing capabilities. Some pdf forms with fill-in spaces will work with Preview and some can be saved with the changes, others not. That depends upon the way the form was written, and has nothing to do with Preview.
If you need to actually edit a pdf, then you need a pdf edtior. I use GhostScript, which is free and quite powerful.

Recently when using FCE 3.0 the "Edit" menu disappeared from the menu bar. I did a complete reinstall following Apple's Troubleshooting Basics for FCE, that is, I removed all traces of the application from all locations. The "Edit" menu is still not there. It should be there between "File" and "View" but, it is missing. When the application starts up, it is seen briefly while the opening splash screen is displayed but when the app. is fully open it is gone. I have tried the reinstall process three times with no luck. I can still use the various functions by using keyboard shortcuts but I am totally baffled by this.
Is there something simple that I am overlooking or is this an indication of a brewing system problem? All of my other applications are fine and I regularly run disk utility and MacJanitor.

Forgive me for pressing the issue but I want to know exactly what is going wrong during the install process to cause this issue. What preparation needs to be done before running the installer besides the usual permissions repair before and after the install is complete. How would you install from the CD?
