Missing emails on iOS 8 - but only on iPad Air! Why?

Why don't some emails arrive on iOS 8 on iPad but they do arrive on iOS 8 on iPhone 5 and Mavericks on my MacBookPro?
Recent "absent" emails are from bona-fide senders (Apple & FileMaker etc).
All help gratefully received please!

Are you sure you don't see them when you swipe to the left?
I actually had only one icon showing on the second page .... and then all of the rest showed up on pages 3, 4, etc.

You should have received an email from Apple with the receipts for the iPad and your AppleCare. AppleCare is not on your iPad... if you have a problem with your iPad that you cannot repair yourself, then you would contact AppleCare for help.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

delete mailbox - how else do you propose to do that. Unless by "deleting mailbox" you mean something else.

Yes, there are two utilities that I use to perform this task, SuperCrazyAwesome’s iPhone Backup Extractor which is a free utility, and addPod’s Juice Phone, also free. Neither solution will work if you have encrypted your backup files. Both allow you to access the backed up data as if the iPhone was connected to your Mac.

Imap email on iOS device but on on osx device

I've recently noticed that emails are coming though to my ios devices but not always to my Macs.
Is there any reason why this would be?
All accounts are setup as IMAP accounts, I can view the emails on the server (and the ios devices), so why aren't they displaying on my Macs?
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Sorry I hadn't updated that in a while. I am completely up to date on all pieces of equipment. IOS6 & OSX 10.8.2.
I had a play around with the mail server last night and if I restart the mail server it seems to re-serve the emails.
Obviously its completely impractical to restart the server every time i need to get new email.
I've opened the "Activity Monitor" in mail and that just seems to be fetching headers, updating cache, fetching new mail, connecting to server and syncing with server. These just seem to be trying to do something but not doing a lot.
I've tried taking all accounts offline and then putting them online again, no change
I've tried sychronizing all accounts, no change
I've tried removing the caches, no change
One of the reasons i noticed it was because i went from receiving 100's of emails a day to probably around 10!
I have 7 imap accounts setup.

My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.

Well, well, well, right before somenone could answer me. I found the answer just here in the forum. I really love it!!!
Seems to be a incompatibility with the file created on Folder Lock installation: "windrvnt.sys." In this case, it is just uninstall Folder Lock and tah dah! Everything works perfectly.
Here comes my request: Hey, developers you all could give a try in resolve this issue, huh? At least give a try...It'll be very nice have the two programs properly installed in anybody's (who wants it) system.
Thanks, anyway for this space to research, change some infos even undirectly. If it was not this forum and all the debate in here maybe I'll be in the dark search for the resolution of it.
