Missing EXPORT option

In iMovie HD 5 there was an option to export the movie back to the camera. In this option was a sub-option to save as a file for importing back to the camera at a later time. This is a great feature because it allowed you to essentially create a Transport Stream that could be played back in VLC or other media players in perfect high quality.
I visited the Apple store in Soho, NYC yesterday to see the new iMovie 6 and noticed this feature isn't there anymore. The option to export back to tape is still there, but not to do it at a later time. I didn't get a chance to play with it all that long as there was a line behind me.
I don't think this was a popular option but it was/is very important to me. Does anyone know if iMovie HD 6 supports this feature.
Thanks!
Andrew
PS: Does anyone have any other suggestoins on how to create a TS file from iMovie?

Where's the Direct Output option you mention?
Matt,
Direct "Export" option (which I believe is still found in FCX/FCP "File" menu) was, as I'm sure you well know, replaced by the "Share" option in the File menu several iMovie upgrade versions ago. Closest current workflow is the Share > QT > Expert > Share > "Movie to DV Stream" > "DV/DVCPRO" option. Believe the main difference between current and former "export" is the current method places the DV/DVCPRO video and DV audio in a ".dv" self-contained file format where the previous one may have placed the A/V data in a ".mov" file container with option for either self-contained or reference file type. (Afraid my memory is a bit weak with regard to this latter point.)
To create a "chapterd" export, you must. of course, "capture" the "shared" timelime immediately following either an "iDVD export" or a "project save" (at least in iMovie HD 6). However, since this "shared" file is "by reference," it should be "saved" immediately as a "self-contained" file to preserve things like currently applied transitions which would be distroyed if/when clips are later removed from the timeline.
In any case, sorry if my previous statement lead you to believe that removal of the "direct export" option was a recent event.

  • Missing export options when exporting Excel from the CRXIR2 CrystalReportVi

    Hi!
    This is an app ported from CR9 to CRXIR2/Net. I print to screen using the CrystalReportViewer in a Windows form. Export button is enabled, but when I click and export to say "Excel", no further dialog is shown. Ie I never get the one wherev you normally would change options like Column widths and page breaks. What have I done wrong?
    Exporting from the Crystal designer app itself works, ie I get the additional dialog.

    OK. I had 11.5.12.1838 installed which is R2 Sp6. Or is it 2A? Your blog says "Check the version. It should be 11.5.12.1838."
    Edit:
    The behaviour is also different. If I run the CR designer and select export, I get a window, much like the one in CR9, ie where I can select destination etc. From the viewer I get a window, much like the ordinary Windows save dialogue and from there I cannot change any options. All I can do is select export type.
    To add insult to injury the dialog defaults to *.rpt, even though I have done a:
    m_Report->ExportOptions->ExportFormatType = CrystalDecisions::Shared::ExportFormatType::PortableDocFormat;
    before passing the report to the viewer.
    To elaborate: This is what I would like to happen:

    Then:
    http://www.pedago.fi/dalton/diverse/export2.png
    But what I get is:

  • Quicktime Export options are missing (only in AME)

    Hey,
    I already searched around for a while and also found another thread in this board, as well some info in the official documentation, saying that AME only installs certain export options, if it's not installed within the proper package of applications (like premiere or after effects).
    Well, I did install it as part of the Master Collection, and also have both Premiere and AFX up and running.
    The Initial install was a horrible procedure, since there was still some photoshop cs6 beta file lurking around and just wouldnt leave, even with the CS cleaner tool.
    When I finally managed to install CS6, everything worked fine, except one major flaw.. When I export a file from premiere as a quicktime, everyhting works as it should. But when I hit "send to AME", the quicktime preset just doesnt make it's way over to the media encoder, but I have only h264 and 4 other formats to choose from. Just no QT available. (I'm on a mac).
    I already tried installing the entire package over the original installation, but it didnt help. I also have CS6 installed on my macbook, where everything works perfectly fine. I compared the media encoder folder on both machines and it's identical in size. In the library I wasn't able to find any media encoder related files.
    Please, does anyone have any Idea how to get QT export in ame up and running again without going through a complete cleansing of my system and reinstall the whole package? I'm in the middle of a project now and would really like to have it working.
    (it worked before in cs5, btw)
    THX

    Just like chfilm I have the same problem with AME CS6 on Mavericks.
    I came here after having resolved another problem, namely because Premiere Pro (PP)
    and AME were not even launching as soon as the Quick Time Bundle Host were being loaded on the splash screen – same thing happened with PP (see screenshot).
    A Forum discussion for that is here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/5521256
    I followed the correct answer suggestion and deleted two files in AME as well as in PP.
    They were called "ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle and ImporterQuicktimeHost.bundle".
    Except, that I didn't have a file called "ImporterQuicktimeHost.bundle" but a plain "ImporterQuickTime.bundle".
    Since the Quicktime Presets in AME are now missing, I think that this problem is related to the problem of this thread.
    Here is what I tried to resolve the case of the missing presets:
    - I tried out the solutions under post #8 (the correct answer)
    - and #25 by leejk of this thread.
    Neither worked for me.
    - I also tried uninstalling the whole adobe suite and used the Adobe Cloud Cleaner Tool and then reinstalled the Adobe Suite.
    Nothing changed.
    - With the newly installed Adobe Suite, I followed post #4 of this thread Uninstalling AME CC
    to make sure, my files weren't corrupted. (If you look into the thread: instead of a version 7.0 I had a version 6.0.)
    Btw: Before uninstalling the whole suite, every application, including PP worked – except of AME.

    Missing all export options in Adobe Premiere (can only export to final cut pro xml). Where are the options?

    There never was a trial version of FCP7. The application was only ever sold as part of the Final Cut Studio suite of applications. You might still find copies on eBay.

  • Missing "bookmarks" option in fixed-layout-epub export panel-?

    Hi everyone, I'm having an issue exporting a fixed layout epub with bookmarks.
    The "Bookmarks" option is not present/visible/showing up in the export options: I only have "none", "file name", "Multi level". But I do have bookmarks in the document.
    I had canceled old bookmarks and recreated them, but nothing changed.
    I really can't figure out the what the problem is!
    Any suggestion will be really appreciated… Thanks.

    I understand that you need the newest version (InDesign CC 2014.1) to accomplish what you want with EPUB.
    But if you have a Creative Cloud subscription, you can download BOTH that version (the current one) AND also install InDesign CC (which came out in 2013), as well as InDesign CS6. All can be installed simultaneously!
    As I described above, I think you unintentionally muffed it by installing a trial on top of your installation. Both should be uninstalled.
    Then with Creative Cloud install the latest version and make sure it's working.
    To download an older version from Creative Cloud, select the Apps menu in the CC application. Scroll down till you see "Filters & Version" In that section, you will see the older versions which you can also install.

  • QT 7 Pro (Windows) missing WMV export option?  It's in QT/Mac...

    Bought QT Pro for my wife's XP computer, so she can convert small .mov files from textbook-bundled CDs to .avi/cinepak or wmv so that powerpoint can import them natively, and she can give them to teaching assistants to use in class sections. The exported file, when properties are viewed, has the exact same specs and codec as an avi file that plays fine within powerpoint. WMV plays them fine standalone.
    Except, using the Window QT 7 pro, the converted .avi files will play within powerpoint (2003). It thinks it can read the avi (powerpoint will import them) and the slide shows the preview, but things just goes blank when you attempt to play. No error messages, no sound, no disk activity.
    If I put the original .mov on my Mac, and export it with QT Pro, I have WMV 9 audio and video export formats available. QT Pro 7 Windows, has only mp4 (no formats of which are readable natively in powerpoint) and other non-useful formats, not including WMV9. It's just not there. avi w/cinepak/InterVideo etc. also fail to be properly formatted- they don't play in powerpoint.
    What gives? The Windows version of QT Pro can't export to WMV format, the only one that goes natively into powerpoint?
    The mp4 might be playable if I update to the latest directX, but you can't count on everyone having that, while WMV just works. And the Mac version actually works?
    Granted powerpoint isn't the best thing but it is clear to me that the QT-exported avi is not properly formatted. And wy is there no WMV option- it's not ghosted as if the file was wont bit depth or or something for the format, it's just not an option when exporting from the Windows version of QT Pro.
    If I wanted to et her up with ffmpegX and make this complicated, I could have. Buying the QT Pro was supposed to make it easy.
    Thoughts?

    sorry for typos, to make it clear, .avi files converted by QT 7 Pro Windows from .mov do NOT play in Powerpoint 2003, although they do import. The video codec and audio are same settings as .avi files that DO import (and were not converted by QT).
    Performing a conversion to WMV9 format on my Mac QT Pro 7 imports fine into Windows powerpoint. There is not a WMV export option on the Windows QT pro.
    I'd prefer to have WMV export but would settle for .avi it it would import and play as I need it to.
    The converted .avi file plays fine in Windows Media Player under XP. Just not in Powerpoint.
    Office and XP updates are very recent, within 2 months for sure.
    Thanks for help.

  • Export options in Voyager

    I created Voyager documents for my cubes. The tool is great in terms of its ability to report data from the multiple measures and dimensions. When it comes to Export options - The export to excel is pretty clean, but it doesn't carry the formatting to the exported file. This feature is something that our users really felt was missing. Can this feature be released as a patch or part of a service pack release? Also, the export doesn't carry the title of the report to excel or PDF (print to PDF - Data).
    Thanks in Advance!!
    Harish

    To confirm:  Column formatting like display -> Name:Caption ..  .. is not being exported to excel
    please refer to Note # 1345585
    this behaviour will be enhanced in XI3.0 Sp3 - due end 2009.

  • Export Options not displaying in Object Style Options panel

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create an object style for decorative images as artefacts and set that style for export to PDF, but in the Object Style Options panel the Export Options settings (which I've seen before, bottom left of the panel) are not displayed. Can anyone tell me how I can make them visible? I'm on InDesign CS6.
    Thanks, Ally

    Hi changilainen2,
    Yes, we are following Adobe Forum!!!
    Thanks for your inputs. Actually while implementing this feature we were bit confused if it is of more importance to have these options in the Object Styles. That's why you are finding it missing from there.
    But feedback from you and some other folks, made us realize that we should have it in object styles too.
    Thanks we'll try incorporating this in the feature.

  • Universal Highest Quality Export Option?

    I am looking for a universal export option on my iMovie HD movies and iPhoto slide shows. It needs to be the highest quality that Apple TV can take while also being compatible with my iPhone. I've tried the "To AppleTV" option but that one is not compatible with the iPhone. I only want to encode once and not keep two or three different formats of my projects. TV shows and movies I get from the iTunes store are great quality on my TV and also sync to my iPhone. Why can I not accomplish the same? What am I missing? Please help.

    Can't be done. You'll want to have two exports.
    The iPhone doesn't have any "HD" options and the Apple TV does (720).
    Some (most HD versions) you buy at the iTunes Store actually download two different files (one smaller version for the iPhone and iPod). The smaller version is the one that can sync to the iPhone.
    Look here for some clues:

  • Slideshow Export options and AppleTV

    Slideshow options seem a nice way to create a quick video of still/video clips (eg for an AppleTV), but unless I'm missing something Export options seem rather limited.
    There isn't enough control over encoding parameters.
    My first attempt exporting a mix of photos and video clips (30fps source) using the AppleTV setting failed to sync to AppleTV.
    Inspecting the file, resolution was 720p but the reported fps was 28fps. That is too high for AppleTV which officially only handles 24fps at 720p but will usually cope with 25fps. Bitrate was also fairly high, nearly 5Mbps the quoted AppleTV limit for h264.
    Now I'm not wild about changing fps for video conversion anyway, but I would like to compare the 720p output vs the '540p' option we often opt for to maintain fps with 30fps source material.
    Custom dropdown gives very little in the way of options I can see, and codecs are limited to h264/MPEG4 - people might in some circumstances want to export at full quality to add to projects in other apps with greater editing control.
    Any idea if you can export with more customisation of parameters?

    Aperture 3.0.3 has an option for iPod size through HD 1080p
    As has iPhoto 09
    as well as a Custom Export feature, which allows you to choose the Codec
    It allows you to choose between 2: Mpeg 4 and h.264. iPhoto can export to anything that QuickTime will support: including - and by no means limited it to - Apple Intermediate, HDV, DV, uncompressed and so on. There are 50 or so codecs I can choose from with iPhoto.
    Uploaded with Skitch!
    /Frame Rate/Width/Height
    As can iPhoto.
    As I said, this is odd. You would expect Aperture to have the more options.
    Regards
    TD

  • Need help setting export options

    I'm working on replacing our old RDC component with the new Java SDK.
    I purchased Crystal Reports 2008 and downloaded the SDK.  Now I'm trying to run a simple example exporting a report to word.  I've built it off of the other export examples I've seen on the site.  None of them seem to give me an up to date example of how to set export options though.
    Exporting seems to work when I export using this:
    ByteArrayInputStream byteArrayInputStream = (ByteArrayInputStream) report.getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.MSWord);
    But not when I do this:
    ExportOptions opt = new ExportOptions();
    opt.setExportFormatType(ReportExportFormat.MSWord);
    RTFWordExportFormatOptions myOptions = new RTFWordExportFormatOptions();
    opt.setFormatOptions(myOptions);
    ByteArrayInputStream byteArrayInputStream = (ByteArrayInputStream) report.getPrintOutputController().export(opt);
    Is there something I'm missing?  I want to be able to explicitly set my export options - especially for other export formats like excel.

    Unfortunately I must still be doing something wrong.  The csv is exported but it comes back with gibberish characters in the file instead of what is in my Crystal.  PDF comes back fine but the other export formats (xls, doc, csv, etc.) all come back with gibberish characters.
    Here is an example of the csv export code I'm using::
    ExportOptions opt = new ExportOptions();
    CharacterSeparatedValuesExportFormatOptions csvOptions = new CharacterSeparatedValuesExportFormatOptions();
    csvOptions.setSeparator(",");
    csvOptions.setDelimiter("\"");
    opt.setExportFormatType(ReportExportFormat.characterSeparatedValues);
    opt.setFormatOptions(csvOptions);
    ByteArrayInputStream byteArrayInputStream = (ByteArrayInputStream) report.getPrintOutputController().export(opt);
    I don't believe I can use ReportExportControl - it doesn't seem to be a part of the SDK I downloaded(but maybe I'm missing something) - I need the SDK version for Crystal Reports 2008.
    I do have Microsoft Office 2003.  Maybe this is causing issues?

  • Updated CC to 2014 lost printer export option unless choose non-2014 CC version-any thoughts?

      Hello,
    After updating to new CC 2014 version noticed it opened on my # 1 monitor instead of #2 Cintiq tablet.Upon going to send image to Canon export module through Photoshop,I noticed it was missing(print module).
    Windows program window shows(#1) Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)  and (#2) Adobe Photoshop CC 2014
      I went back to original CC version(#1) and it opened on correct monitors and Canon driver is where it should be.Tried dropping export file into 2014 vers. (#2)but didn't help.
      I have been able to set .tiffs to Photoshop CC(#1) as default,but jpegs will only open on CC 2014 (#2).
    "Original" vers. (#1) shows following in system info;
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.2.1 (14.2.1 20140207.r.570 2014/02/07:23:00:00) x64
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
    Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
    I hope I don't have to open CC 2014 to use the new tools then open the older version to get to my printer export plug-in.

    I do not know what you mean by printer export option or print module.  I do not have a cintiq Display I have two displays and a Wacom intuos Pro.and have a Epson printer not a cannon printer.  I keep my Photoshop Paletts on my 720P size display and Photoshop main window on my 1080p size display. I run windows 7 Pro. I have no Problem with CC 2014 menu File>Print (Ctrl P).  Look at my 1080P size screen capture. View screen capture in a new tab an scale to actual pixels.  The site scales image poorly. Do you have the correct device drivers installed on you windows 7 system for your printer?

  • BUG: LR2.6 export options gone win7

    LR 2.6 64bit under 64bit win7 pro all the export options, like burn to disk, are missing.
    The only export option still there is files to disk

    I have both "Export to DNG" and  "For E-Mail"  in my Lighroom Presets. "Full Size Jpeg" is my own User preset. I'm not sure  the "Export To Disk"
    has ever worked in Lr 2.X. Since exporting to the Pictures Library and using the Windows 7 "burn" function is relatively easy, personally I don't consider it a big deal. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

    you can export only Projects, not Events.
    click in your Project Window to 'open' any project, then you're export options are blacked.
