Except EXTERNAL-RHEL4-10gR2-DVD2-Linux-v2.0.zip, registered red hat web site and download never comes....?? Is there other URL file or ftp side?

When I try downloading EXTERNAL-RHEL4-10gR2-DVD2-Linux-v2.0.zip ,
I have to go to the below:
4) Select "Channels" from the toolbar at the top of the page.
5) Select "Easy ISOs" and then click "view the complete list of
software channels with ISO"
6) Choose "Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS x86, AMD64, EM64T, & Itanium"
7) Select the appropriate "Binary Disc's" for your Red Hat solution and
architecture
8) Use whichever tool you are comfortable with to burn the ISO images
to a CD
But still i do not see the EXTERNAL-RHEL4-10gR2-DVD2-Linux-v2.0.zip
Can you please advise on

b. if not atleast which of the CDs from the channels on redhat.com I need to be downloading

"Missing external function lvanlys.dll" when running EXE

Windows 7 x32, LV2009SP1 / LVRuntime 2009
I am trying to build an EXE from a customer's code. They use the analysis library (NI_AALBase.lvlib).
It runs fine on my dev machine. When I build the EXE and pass it to a target machine with LVRuntime on it, I get the error:
Missing external function lvanlys.dll: Mean_head:C NI_AALBase.lvlib:Mean.vi.
I explicitly added the lvanlys library to the project. I added the library as a source file in the build. Finally I added the DLL itself to the project and as a source for the build.
Always the same error. The DLL is located in the data folder after the build. I tried to move it into the same folder as the EXE, and into the system32 folder. Nope.
I just changed the DLL's extension to dllx and tried again, and I get the same error, so it looks like it can't find it.
Do I need to register this DLL or something? Does it need a support file?

DOWNLOADING 10GR2 FOR LINUX-86-64BIT FAILS AT 33% CONSISTENTLY

Trying to download 10gR2 for Linux-86-64bit, however, download process fails at
33% consistently with error message "server connection reset"!
I had two colleages try that from their own PCs and got the same error. I was able to download the companion file which is close in size (700MB) to the core 10gR2 zip file.
Any help is appreciated.

ABS: kernel 2.6.17 and linux-r1000(103).zip

I've been trying to rebuild kernel using abs (I need Minix FS support built-in). But I got the error message about the file missed:

I've checked the ftp-server manually and noticed that there is no this file...
I've commented the appropriate lines in PKGBUILD:

and their MD5 sums. And the tried to build and got this error:

No, the simplest way is to comment out the related lines in the build() function as well i.e. the last 4 lines.

Javax.sound missing with Fedora Core 3 linux's java compiler?

I'm running Fedora core 3, and I did a complete install(selected all the packeges). I have the java compiler that FC3 installed. I can compile most things, but I seem to be missing the sound package/folder.
This leads to an error when I try to import the sound libraries.

results in the error "The import javax.sound cannot be resolved"
I am trying to run a code snippet from javaAlmanac, and of course it won't work. Today, a friend of mine had the exact same problem on a windows machine using JDK 1.5.
I'm going to test this code out on a windows machine also.
Are there issues with the FC3 java compiler?
Has anyone else run into and solved this issue?
I'm considering copying the sound folder from some other Java installation, anyone try this?

I'm pretty new at this myself. I've also installed Fedora Core 3 on an AMD 64. When I do the same uname - a I get:

Maybe you didn't install as 64 bit ?
I've also successfully installed Jave Runtime Environment. java -version gets me:

Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_08-b03, mixed mode)
I'd suggest installing 32 bit. I can't tell the difference when I run programmes that use 64 or 32 bits - it will be just as good.

when trying to connect with SqlPlus 3.3 (oracle 7) on windows XP to a RDBMS 10gR2 (10.2.0.4) on Linux in WmWare, the window with SqlPlus 3.3 simply disappears...
Does anybody know what is happening?

Roberto.Oracle 7 was DEsupported before XP was a gleam in Bill Gates' eye. Even if you could get it started (on a platform for which it was designed) it won't connect to Oracle 10 databases.

Missing external compliler support libraries

I'm trying to use Measurement Studio 8.1.2 for Visual Studio 6.0 to import a CVI project so I can use a partner's C++ DLLs.
As an starting point I'm tyring to use the File->New to open the Measurement Studio Wizzard to convert and existing CVI project into a Visual C++ project using one of the CVI sample projects (tankdemo.prj). But it fails with "The specified CVI installation is missing the external compiler support libraries in the extlib folder".
Using explorer, the three files cvirt.lib, cvisupp.lib, and cviwinmain.lib are in cvi/extlib/ for all my CVI installations, although for 8.5 they are in cvi85/extlib/msvc/
How to fix? My compiler compatability is set for Visual Studio and I've CVI 5.5, 6.0, 8.01, and 8.5 installed on this computer. Haven't yest upgraded to 8.5.1.

Well, the easiest way is if you have Visual Studio 2005, you can run through the CVI wizard, and then look at what include directories and libs were used. For example, if I run the VS 2005 wizard on the tank demo, the Additional Include Directories option under C/C++ in the project properties dialog, is set to

Now, the above settings are from my Vista machine. Instead of ProgramData, you should use C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\...
Also, you need to be using the _NI_mswin32_ preprocessor define. I don't think the VS 6 wizard automatically added it. This is mentioned in the Required Preprocessor Definitions help topic in the LabWindows/CVI Help.
Also, if I remember correctly, the VS 6 wizard added the toolbox.h and toolbox.c file which actually doesn't need to be added so you can delete those from the project.
Additionally, we moved the location of analysis.h which was an intentional change. The reason for it has to do with properly supporting
UAC under Vista. The analysis library had to be installed to a different
location, since in some cases those files need to modified by CVI,
post-installation.

Missing external display 1920x1080 resolution, only shows 1680x1050... Please HELP !

When connecting my Macbook Air (mid 2011) to an external LG 22" Display (M2241A) which supports a native resolution of 1920x1080, the closest setting available in the display preferences is 1680x1050, and aspect ratio is really distorted at this size. I use an Apple mini-display-port to HDMI, and HDMI cable to connect the Monitor.
What can I do to correct this problem ? How do I make the 1920x1080 available and get rid of the distortion ?

Thanks for your quick answer, but... When I use the 1080p resolution, I need to use Underscan, and the colors change, the fonts get all blurry and overall definition goes really bad. Really seems like a TV setting.
Maybe okay to watch a movie, but not to work in Photoshop and get design work done properly.
The external display only has HDMI + VGA inputs.
So I guess the next step is to try finding a different connector (mini-display to VGA) But I am now in Chile, Patagonia, and believe me, this will be quite a challenge to find !!! Also, no way to buy at Apple online store and get it shipped here in Chile... :-(((

I cannot boot my system after upgrading and reboot. Here's what I've done so far:

Removing Time Machine backups for (missing) external hard drive

My Time Machine was backing up everything, including external hard drives.
One of the external drives (ORIGDRIVE) started hardware failures. I added a new external drive (NEWDRIVE) and used Finder to copy files over (some via RAID and some from the Time Machine copy a month before the problems cropped up).
Then I ejected and unplugged ORIGDRIVE and shipped it back to the manufacturer.
The problem is that the Time Machine still has all those copies from ORIGDRIVE eating up disk space, but I want to keep a year's worth of monthlies for all the other drives (just in case another drive fails soon).
Since ORIGDRIVE is not mounted, Time Machine doesn't show me those files so I can use the "Delete All Backups of" option within the GUI.
If I try renaming NEWDRIVE to ORIGDRIVE, what I get instead is ORIGDRIVE 1 .
We're talking dozens of TB here, so reformatting the Time Machine volume and starting over maxes out the system and leaves me flying without a complete backup for most of a week, something I'd rather avoid.
Suggestions?

How can I search for files on an external file server (using Linux)?

The configuration is that the mac min is connected (with other Windows XP computers) in an ethernet network. The file server is the only one running Linux. The mini mac has no problems to connect to the server and read the files, write files and create folders etc. But, because the file server is quite big, there are a lot of files and folders (size estimate in total some 350 GB). In a finder window I tried to seach a file name, but the mac does not give any result. The mouse cursor does not visibly change into occupied or so. Searching for a file on the mac is no problem as we know.
Any help or hint what kind of program / setting needs to be used to do this would be appreciated.

Use the Find command (menu Edit) and in criteria at the right side is a plus sign to add another criteria and set it to your custom wishes.
make a choice in results and you should be OK

Missing external libraries on deployment

I have created a Web project under IBM Rational Application Developer 7 and a EAR project that deploys that web application under WebSphere v6.1.
When I publish the web application on WebSphere, the external libraries are not found or not published with it. I have included the external libraries into the main Web project, but still it is not taken into account.
Anyone know what the cause of this could be?
In order to run my program I have to create the WAR file with Maven og install it manually on WebSphere. This has become tedious and wastes alot of time.

The application probably thinks it's a camera drive. Post a screen shot if the root level of the partition. Look for folders with names like Private.

Missing external hard drive

Hi. I've been using my external HD for the last few days but since this morning it doesn't show up on my macbook pro. Not on finder nor on the desktop. Neither on Disk Utility. It's not a problem of showing the hard drive, it's more like the computer can't read it. All the preferences are set to show the icon on desktop and on finder. Then... I plug the same HD on my imac and it works out just fine, which means to me that there isn't a problem with the HD! I don't know what to try anymore. Please help. Tks!!

Is it a USB-powered drive? If so, can you hear it making a faint clicking or whirring sound when plugged in?
If so, it isn't getting enough power from the USB port.

Missing external partition

I have an external drive which has two partitions, both showing up in the finder when it is turned on. While trying to open a file from one of the partitions I thought I saw a puff like a cloud emanating from where the cursor was and when I returned to the finder, that particular partition was no longer showing. Both partitions are still visible on the desktop however.
Any ideas on how I can get the partition to show in the finder again?

If you mean the Finder window sidebar, Finder->Preferences->Sidebar->toggle the various settings. Alternatively, drag the Desktop icon back into the sidebar (that's a WAG, since I've turned off the sidebar in Finder windows).
