Missing Feature - (Implementation) Service Orchestration

Oracle basis its 'mediation' on the 'Routing Service', in which one can filter, transform, route messages from a service consumer (business service client) to a service provider (actual service implementation, off the ESB).
Note: Even if the Routing Service routes to two of more service providers, it always assumes that the input to these service providers is the input to the main Routing Service.
In a scenario where there are two or more service providers, how does one call the second service provider with/based on data from the response of the call to the first service provider?
Does anyone currently see a way of doing this? (And please don't suggest BPEL; BPEL as the name suggests orchestrates my business services (exposed on the ESB) and not my service providers))

I haven't tried this, so I can not guarantee it would work, but have you considered using the 'response forward' pattern and chaining routing services?
e.g.
Routing service A invokes service 1
Routing service A invokes routing service B with the response from service 1
Routing service B uses it's routing rules to decide if service 2 should be invoked.
A sample response forward project can be found in the ESB samples zip file on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/index.html.
I believe this would work for you under the following conditions:
(1) One way method invocation (you are not expecting a response from routing service A)
(2) Routing rule for routing service B can be based on data in request to and response from invocation of service 1 and is not dependent on data that only exists in original request to routing service A.

Missing shared feature Reporting Services Sharepoint

We have all 64bit servers with Windows Server 2012 Standard Evaluation
In our SP Farm we decided to have 1 WFE Server, 1 App Server & 1 Sql Server
In Sql Server we installed "en_sql_server_2012_enterprise_edition_with_service_pack_2_x86_dvd"
With that we got the following version installed
Now when we are trying to install SSRS on our App Server we could not see the following Shared Features
- Reporting Services Sharepoint
- Reporting Services Add-in for Sharepoint products
Please suggest me what am i missing or where i was wrong?

Hi Naveen,
From the image in your post, it seems that there may be something wrong with your setup file of SQL server 2012.
Please make sure that you are installing SQL server with the intact setup file.
And the installation of SQL will also be affected by the viruses in your system.
So please make sure that there is no viruses in your App server.
As this issue is regarding to SQL server installation, I recommend you to post the question in SQL forum:

List of missing features in CC 2014 for film editors

hello everyone,
I was thinking about some features I miss in CC 2014 (and I really was hoping they will be there, because the most of them are just basics...) and made a list which I want to send (again...) to Adobe as feature request. Premiere improved a lot in last years, but there are still some basic functions which you absolutely need as a professional editor, which still aren`t implemented. What do you think about the list? or maybe did I overlook some of the new features in CC 2014? Just so you know, I`m using Premiere mostly for editing movies (shorts, but will edit my first feature film this year), also promotional films, but much more less. So my biggest concern right now is if Premiere is the right choice for editing a feature, which of course means a lot of material, probably Red Raw.
so here`s what I totally miss in Premiere:
1. auto sync/auto merge: synching by timecode or waveform all of the video and audio clips in the bin/in the timeline at once and not one after another. and merging them all at once, not one after another. it works of course, but it takes ages!
2. merged clips should be more flexible,
- it should be possible to use the option "interpret footage" on merged clips, sometimes you have to modify them after they were merged and you`re already editing for a long time.
- replacing raw footage should also replace the footage in the (already merged and edited in a timeline) merged clips
3. the aaf export is much too simple, there are a lot of options I miss there. it is great solve in Avid and in automatic duck in Final Cut, something like that would be great
4. the possibility to change color space in the project and play out. yes, this option is available in After Effects, but you can`t always use it, because there is some footage you can`t import in AE (like titles!)
5. .. which leads me to the last point: it should be possible to export the titles from Premiere with an alpha channel (I`m using the titles as the subtitles)
bugs that need to be fix:
- audio dropouts!

Another missing feature, automatically filling in formulas when a new row is created. For instance, say you have 3 columns, 1 + 2 = 3. In Office 2004, when I add a new row, that formula is automatically inserted. It's just one of those nice little time saving features that would be nice.

Missing Features, Bugs, and Wish List for Apple Engineers

I LOVE my iPhone. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. The interface is awesome. Great job Apple, but there are missing features and bugs that all of us want updated or wish were added. I know they were probably already thought of by Apple, but in an effort to make the phone perfect removed to make it more stable. Now that it is out lets make it perfect.
This thread will hopefully give you guys guidance from the early adopters who share your love for the phone (and others who want to chime in). I want to separate the list into a few categories and hope everyone will add to this thread with their ideas:
1) BUGS/CHANGES TO EXISTING APPS:
- Period should be in alphabet keyboard (make space smaller) or when you go to symbol keyboard and hit period it should automatically go back to the alphabet keyboard (unless you double click the symbol button which means stay there like caps lock)
- Individual delete (like Mail) of all lists (eg. call list, bookmarks list, history etc.
- Multiple item in a List delete (see below for how to select). This is also so un-Mac like to not be able to select multiple items to delete. It is all or none for clear/delete on the iPhone.
- Implement double finger slide...in maps double finger tap zooms out so the OS recognizes this, why don't you use a double finger drag to mean "select". There is no way to select some words in a sentence or a group of items. This could be how. eg. In a list (eg Mail) double finger slide over items you want to select (instead of singer finger drag which moves the list) then one finger slide to the right to delete the selected items from the list.
- Copy and paste. Since there are no menus this would require a gesture (ala newton)
- when you tap the battery icon it should bring up a battery status dialog (ala wifi join dialog where the screen dims): present charge, big battery icon (like the charging one), time left. In addition, instead of giving battery usage details only after a full charge, give it at any point.
- Since you know that nights and weekends are at set times (and not variable like it was on Sprint where I came from)...the phone usage details should be broken down into: peak minutes used and N+W minutes used (not hard to figure out since you know the time and dates of calls)
- Be able to change font/background etc in Notes app
- faster way to get to favorites in the killer phone app after turning on phone. Just seems like it takes too many taps to get there to make a call on a phone.
2) WISH LIST FOR NEW APPS (apps that can be added with existing hardware, see #3 for other wishes)
- iChat (obvious and probably almost done)
- VOIP (probably not going to happen, and wouldn't work in Europe where I would need it most gven network speeds there)
- Flight tracker widget
- Exchange support (probably in the works)
- Push email from gmail and .Mac (probably in the works)
- Bluetooth sync
- DUN (probably not going to happen since AT+T does not want it)
- Data/File storage with sync
- TODO APP that syncs to to do in iCal
- Ringtones, definitely from songs from iPod side (obvious and coming soon I am sure)
-Search function like spotlight. Global would be awesome, but even just in contacts
3) FUTURE HARDWARE RELATED WISHES (stuff we wish could be in hardware version 1 but know require a version 2):
- GPS
- 3G
- LED that changes color and/or pulses (like MacBooks sleep light) that indicates things (eg charge status, Voice mail status, roaming status etc) without turning on the phone
- Move camera to front to allow video conferencing (I doubt Steve would allow since it would mess up the clean front look)
Well I could go on and will add to this thread later, but I need to go to work to show everyone (and sell more apple stuff since many of my colleagues have been converted to macs). Now, all you pioneers, start adding things to help our beloved phone become better!

I agree with your post! I'm amazed by the simplicity, the screen, and the apps on the iPhone. They all have worked wonderfully for me, with just a few crashes while surfing or loading big email images. (I heard that shutting down the phone and restarting helps that.)
The single flaw for me is that the phone app itself should be primary, with more options (quicker access, unique ringtones, voicedial?) and ease of use. The other applications are so elegant, but I need my phone to be very accessible and practical too.
My wish list:
1) Make it fewer taps to get to the point where you can make a phone call. How about the main button can be programmed to take you wherever you want. I'd choose to go to Phone Favorites, so I could speed dial right away.
2) Be able to set a preference as to what app you're in when you wake up the phone. I'd choose phone keypad, some might choose iCal, etc.
3) Add the period and comma symbols to the alpha keyboard.
4) Allow different ringtones for specific caller ID's.
5) Copy and paste.
V2) With new hardware, add a "back" button to return to prev. screen. It could be small, on the side near volume?

Missing features in Audition CS5.5

Ok, I have been playing around intensively with Audition CS5.5 for a few weeks now. Aside from the thing that SES to SESX import did not work natively (thanks Todd, for giving me the link, although I do think that it should have been included in the software in the first place), there are some other things that bug me.
Here's my top 4 (in order of personal importance):
1. GROUP CLIPS
This feature is missing. If you're working on a mix, you need to be able to move parts quickly, not risking screwing up parts that are OK. Manually selecting all clips and then moving them is timewise not very efficient. IMHO, we really shouldn't have to wait until CS6 for this feature to return...
2. LAYOUT
I keep hitting the vertical zoom sign whenever I want to zoom in horizontally. I use horizontal zooming much more than vertical. Of course you can use the + or - signs on the keyboard, but I find myself hitting the on-screen button time and again. In Au 3 they were in the "correct" position. And there's no way of adjusting the workspace so that I can place the buttons where I like them to be. I am so used to this on-screen layout, that I think it will take a long time to adjust to this.
3. CLIP TIME STRETCH
You can't drag clips to stretch them to a desired length. You do have an improved dialog for Strecth and Pitch (which I like), but you can't do it visually on the timeline.
4. PRE-LISTEN TRACKS
I Au 3 you could quickly sort through multiple effect tracks by pre-listening them using Auto-play in the import dialog to find that right type of swoosh you need from your sound collection. Now you can't, or you have to rely on Adobe Bridge.
I know that the Adobe Bug Report / Feature Request form is the best way to submit these (and I frequently use that), but I'm also curious if other sound editors deal with the same problems.

I believe no one has responded to the original post because all of these topics have been discussed in other threads since Audition CS 5.5 was released. We absolutely appreciate knowing which missing features are most important to our users so that we can place priority toward implementing them. While I can't divulge what features will be in Audition CS 6 at this time, I think it's safe to say that most of these requests will be satisfied.
Regarding the layout of the Zoom buttons, it is possible to display these buttons both within the standard Editor panel (the default view) and as a separate panel which can be positioned as you like. Click Window > Zoom in the menu bar to open this panel.

It is sometimes difficult to keep buts and missing features apart; if posting please try to keep to the 'missing features' subject. While I can, I will edit this first post rather than adding extra posts as I add extra comments.
BT Cloud is a new service (or a new interface to an old service) so has many missing features; with luck if we record these the team will try to get them added at some point. I have found them very responsive on the issues with speed (even though they haven't yet managed to resolve them), and I hope they will be equally responsive here.

You will have to disregard my previous comments. It seems that when I tried to use the BT Cloud app for the first time it had not set up fully. There was no access to the help pages.
A section by section read through the instructions shows that most features in my listing are there. Even a pause feature, and of course, being able to quit the app..
For every day use the app seems to be fully effective.
Other users with more advanced demands may find some problems.
The demands on the Windows 7 operating system are low, using little processing time and only a minor RAM usage.

Here is my shortlist:
1. Copy/Cut and paste - sadly still missing...
2. Landscape view for keyboard - SMS and Email - still missing...!
3. AM/PM indicator missing from "unlock" screen (in 12 hour clock) - BUG
... What's wrong with Apple these days - all of these issues (listed above) could have been easily implemented in version 2.2 and were frequently requested by all iPhone users since version 1.0 and yet Apple have ignored all of them...

These features may or may not be that difficult to include, but what made you "fork out huge amounts to pay for a 'top of the range' iPhone" in the first place?
As already provided, Apple has what is called their own "allocation of resources and prioritization", and if what is included doesn't meet your needs or wants, you should not have purchased an iPhone in the first place, or continue to keep using the iPhone if Apple doesn't include the features you need or want in a time table that meets your expectations, since there are plenty of cheap $100 phones that meet your needs or wants, you have a wide range of other phones to choose from which are less expensive, so that is exactly what you should do. No point in continuing to use a device that does not meet your needs or wants. Use one of the many less expensive devices you have to choose from that meets your needs or wants and move on.

Missing Features (why I won't yet recommend FiOS TV)

I wanted to post here in hopes that Verizon hears my complaints and does something about it. I don't know if there is a bug / feature reporting tool they have publicly available, so I'm using this forum.
Overall, we love everything about Verizon. Great service and support, great internet speeds and up-time, super sharp TV picture, responsive modern UI! Love it.
I would recommend everything to my friends and family except the TV service, and this is because the DVR is missing some basic functionality. Here are the things I want to see fixed added before I'm willing to recommend Verizon TV to others (DirectTVs DVR is better in this regard, but unfortunately we can't get a signal at our new place)
Missing features:
1) Extend an active recording
-- This is a deal breaker if you are a sports fan. Once a recording has started, there is no way to extend it. I've seen post saying "just subscribe to the series with a custom end time", and "just record the show after it". These are lame work arounds. This is pretty basic functionality. A better work around would be for Verizon to allow me to set a custom stop time when I start a single recording. Why isn't this an option??? It's clearly able to handle setting a custom end time when setting up series recordings, how is this different?
2) Can not pause an on-demand show
-- I can not see paying for any on-demand shows without this functionality. Have you ever watched a movie straight through without needing to pause the DVD? With TV shows, if you watch it live they show enough commercials to fit in a quick bathroom break or make popcorn, whatever. With on-demand, there are less commercials (this is good), and that makes it harder to take a quick break... Further, if you have kids... you NEED a way to pause to, um, deal with the kids on occasion. I can understand wanting to disable FFwd (to disable skipping commercials), or Rwnd (to disable someone trying to play a pay movie multiple times), but Pause??? come on... Add the ability to pause, and it may be enough for me to cancel my Netflix subscription, and give my money to the Verizon on-demand service instead...
I'd love to hear from a Verizon employee on at least #1. This is my number one complaint. I'm a sports fan and this is killing me... Is there an ETA on fixing this? Some where better for me to voice my concern? Like I said, #1 really prevents me from recommending Verizon TV to anyone. I love everything else, so missing this one this is a real shame.

1. This is upcomming. When looking at the guide it gives a basic description, but if you hit info it gives a more detailed description. actors and dates are something in the works.   As for the wrong show, this may or may not be a Verizon issue. Sometimes Verizon's guide is just wrong. But more often than not, it is a problem with the channel not verizon. If the channel said they would have show "a" on and that is what verizon put on their guide, then the channel had a change or problem with the show at the last minute, it would not have been communicated to Verizon so they were expecting to show "a" but ended up broadcasting show "b". I live in an area where fios tv is not available yet and I have Direct TV. Same thing happens there. We notice it especially on cartoon network ourselves, I record pokemon for my nephew and about half the time they will have "the adventures of flapjack" instead. Its not a problem with Directv's guide, its a problem with cartoon network in my case. This is not to say that the problem you are seeing is not a verizon issue in some cases. but in a lot of cases, its a problem with the channel itself and there is nothing verizon can do in those instances
2. There are several movie channels included in the base packages. I.E. AMC, TCM, Bravo, etc.   Things like showtime, IFC, Encore and such will always be extra.
3. Content on the movie packages is in no way controled by Verizon. This complaint needs to be sent to those channels themselves. Verizon has no say in the content on the channels.

Missing features in iphone 4

Dear Gentlemen,
I live in Saudi Arabia, and I bought an iphone device from there with the 4.2 Version software.
I was surprised that a lot of the iphone features were disabled, such as facetime and internet tethering. Anyhow, I have a US itunes account, and I thought that when I update the device with software to 4.3 all the missing features would be enabled (including the new features of the personal hotspot, etc...)
but unfortunately non of the disabled features were enabled, nor that the new features offered by apple were installed.
Please help me solve this issue, knowing that I don't want to jailbreak my device.

i suggeste make this feature available in a new software update ..
there is also some specefications ..here on the site about asha 200 that dosen't exist

Hi, i have seen that the 200 in the FM recording FAQ here on the forums is supposed to support FM recording in Egypt. As this is a user to user forum, you may contact Nokia in your country directly by clicking the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page, and assist you with your requirement as they may have got something wrong. You can also use the link to suggest new services of features that you desire.
Please note that if you bought your 200 from another country and it was their country's model, then you may have the FM recording functionality disabled as it is not allowed in their country.

Missing features in Safari Windows

I was intrigued by the 1.6 performance increase over firefox, but unfortunately have been disappointed by missing features I have grown to love in firefox.
Here are the things I wish Safari supported:
1) google suggestions in the google search box
2) the ability to close a tab by clicking my mouse wheel
3) support crtl + ent and crtl + alt + ent to automatically changing wikipedia to http://www.wikipedia.com as an example
4) when I highlight the url it doesn't highlight the entire url; instead it places the cursor in the url where I clicked
5) And the big one is the ability to restore my session.
I am still impressed how fast safari is compared to firefox, which is definitely noticable, but without my favorite features I don't see using safari.
Are these features present in Safari and I am just missing them? Perhaps there is a roadmap to implement these features? I hope so.

Pages' Missing Features

I think there's still a number of features that make Pages for iPad inferior to using a word processor (say, OpenOffice) on a netbook, which is disappointing because I'd really love to get rid of my netbook and just use my iPad and external keyboard.
Key missing features: word count (I know you've heard that before); command-i/u/b for italics, underline, and bold; some way to resize text on the screen without changing the font, ala OpenOffice showing the document at 150% or whatever. (Documents 2 Go does this with pinch-and-zoom and reflow. Pages does not reflow the text to fit the screen when you zoom in, so you can't actually work with it.)
Another important feature I'd like to see, that both Documents 2 Go and QuickOffice have, is integration with document syncing services like DropBox. That's actually a huge thing; on my netbook, dropbox syncs my files every time I save automatically, without me having to think about it, while currently on pages I have to drag the files onto my computer with iTunes, which is night and day in terms of ease-of-use.
Finally, if you could include OpenOffice open document compatibility, that would be amazing.
Right now, Pages still has a superior writing experience to Documents 2 Go and QuickOffice, despite D2G's latest update. If you included the above features you would kill the competition completely and make it so that the iPad could be a real word processing replacement device.

Where are the many missing features in Numbers found?

The more that I use Numbers the less likely that I will ever go through the motions of trying to get Numbers to do enough of the things that have to be done in order for my income tax program to work. Like in another post I have some of my smaller tax forms to say that they are too big to be imported. There seems to be too many missing features to do a useful job.
This leaves trying to use Numbers to handle new small, small, small spreadsheets. At the present times I have little problem setting up a format for a cell providing the formatting is available. In Excel the easiest way to copy a format to a new cell is to use format painter. Many time copy/paste will work. But copy/paste will move the formula also. I have not been able to find a way to do this with Numbers.
So far the sliders feature is the one feature that interests me enough to try to use Numbers in the real work handling portion of my business. Many things I want to do either I can't find out how to do them or there are too many added keystrokes needed compared to Excel to make me want to do a spreadsheet in Numbers.
Since the majority of my spreadsheets do not use a header row or header column I have to get that turned off. Tax sheets have a lot of blank spaces to start things out & normally will be different than the next sheet.
I used a lot of cell/range names as well as individual cells. I use 450+ cell names in my main Form 1040, A,B,D,NE,IA page. That still leaves me needing to know the row/column designation most of the time. I cannot find where that information is displayed in Numbers.
I keep looking, but generally do not find the needed feature that I need. Many like the cell designation is so basic. Being able to use the arrow keys to move to a cell for inclusion in a formula is another one that I am unable to do. Using the help files do not come close to answering any question that I have with Numbers. Where is the Numbers, "Missing Manual?" I need what I don't have & may not be made at the current time.
Like Pages 1.0, Numbers 1.0 doesn’t seem ready for prime time use. There are too many missing features be a very complete spreadsheet. Some I probably can’t find, some probably are not there.
I need help.

In the meanwhile, you can continue to use these features by accessing the previous versions of the iWork applications which remain installed on your Mac. The previous versions can be found in Applications > iWork ’09.Reverting documents created in the new iWork for Mac applications to the previous version’s file formatNew or existing documents you open in the new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote use the new unified file format. These files can’t be opened in the previous versions of the iWork applications. To revert the document file format to the previous version, you can do one of the following:
Documents that you haven't edited can be reverted to the iWork ’09 version by selecting File > Revert To.
If you have edited the document and want to preserve the edits, you can save it as an iWork ’09 document by selecting File > Export To, then choosing Pages ’09, Numbers ’09, or Keynote ’09.

Best practice for implementing services

I am doing some testing with implementing webservices and i am wondering what it the best way...
First some background about the project. The idea is that the user interfaces uses webservices for almost everything. The complete datalayer is created somewhere else and i just use those services. For example i have a WSDL that holds the UserServices. It describes the service for creating,updating,deleting, getUserByCompany, getUserByKey and some other stuff.
As far as i can see, i have 2 options in JDev
1) Create a datacontrol based upon the WSDL. This way i can easily drag&drop the services and use the databindings.
I'm afraid that this approach is not that flexibel. It isn't realy easy to update the DC once the WSDL has been changed.
I have a popup to edit/create a user. It also does not seem easy to implement this because when i open the popup for create, my input fields should be bound to the parameters for the createService but when i open the popup to edit a user, those fields should be bound to the editService instead. This does not look easy...
Also, the table that lists the users depends on the role of the user. When an admin request the page with the user table, he must see all the users but when another user request the page, he can only see the users from his company so we have 2 services for this: getUsers (gets all the users) and getUsersByCompany so here also, my table can be bound to 2 services... Does not seem to be easy to implement.
2) The second way of implementing services is using a proxy. This seems way more flexible. I just creates a java interface to call the service. This way i can create my own pojo's and create a DC from that.
This way i can create a function getUsers(String company). When i drop that to my page, i can bind the company parameter to a backing bean. THis way i can write some logic in the pojo based upon the value. If company is null i return the result of the getUser service, else i use the getUsersByCompany service instead.
It's also very easy to regenerate the proxy if the wsdl has been changed. Somethign that isn't possible with the first way.
What do you do when you use webservices this way? If their any difference in performance?

You got it basically right.
With the proxy approach you write get code that wraps your calls to the Web service - and this allows you to do various modifications on how the service is called, what to do with the results etc.
