Missing files during download

I am trying to download the iPOD NANO software on my PC running Windows ME and I'm getting an Error Starting Program message "The MSIEXE.EXE file is linked to missing export MSI.DLL.-222." I contacted Microsoft and they say it's an issue with the iPOD files. Any suggestions?

Microsoft would say that.
It's more likely that it's because your OS (ME) does not support the use of an iPod.
You should have Windows 2000 with service pack4, or XP with service pack 2.
Ify ou really must use ME, then you'll need something like this.

Hi there Mylenium, is there any way you can help me? My cs6 is doing all kinds weird things lately. The liquifying too stopped working completely, when I try to work with the actions, it starts flickering and changing opacity in color by itself. It starts flickering and is completely out of whack! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still no luck. I tried getting in touch with adobe and no luck with that neither! Is there anyway you might be able to help?

Missing Files During Network Copy?

I have recently copied data files (mostly pdf) from my windows machine to my iMac via my network when I got my new computer.
Tonight, I noticed some files that I viewed the other day on my Mac were mysteriously gone?
Being that, I verified that my old machine still had the original files that were supposedly missing. So, to ensure that I had all my files I zipped the original folder on my old computer and copied back to the Mac to a new directory. When I unzipped on the iMac, the files in question are missing again in the new directory.
What am I doing wrong? I am concerned because I have quite a bit of data that I switched over and I'm not really sure what might be missing.
Any ideas are appreciated.

It appears that if you try to copy directly from My Documents on the Mac, certain files are not copied.
Why some files are copied and other are not I have no clue but I simply logged into my windows machine and copied directly to my Mac and that seemed to work.

I have no previous music, hundreds. after new download I went through retrieval process as instructed but no data in dated libary file. Any suggestions?

Missing Files During Small Interval

I just noticed something... this morning, I happened to be looking at TM as it performed its 2nd backup of the day... it told me that it was copying nearly 8GB of data... this was a bit of a surprise since I was pretty sure that I hadn't changed that much data since the last backup...
So I decided to do a diff between this and the last backup to see what was up... turns out nearly 70 directories in my 'Music' directory were NOT present in the 1st backup of today... I was like HUH? So I went into TM and discovered that they weren't present in the last few backups of yesterday either... for SOME reason, they were removed at 7:34PM but had been in the 6:35PM backup...
This is probably obvious, considering my post here but the files didn't change in that interval... I didn't delete them and I didn't restore them...
Fairly distressing, I'd say?

I'm not sure if it is relevant, but it appears that the name of your computer (as set in System Preferences / Sharing) has an apostrophe in it -- "Justin's Mac Pro".
There is a Knowledge Base Article that says past Time Machine backups may not be visible if your computer name includes any characters outside of the range A-Z, a-z, and 0-9

The fact that you did a manually initiated backup shouldn't have made a difference. But the fact that there was an error detected in a prior backup may have caused Time Machine to mistrust the log of file system changes and do a "deep" look at your file system to determine what really needed to be backed up. Did the backup that returned these files to the Time Machine disk happen to have a very long "preparing" stage?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I downloaded some videos to Premier Elements 13 from an external hard drive but now the external hard drive is damaged. While setting up my new MAC the external hard drive was dropped and I have been told by an outside source they could not retrieve the files. It had 4 years of photos and videos on it. I remembered that I had downloaded some of the videos from the external hard drive (before it was broke) to Adobe Organizer 13 when I installed the Adobe 13 on my MACOS X 10.9.5. I tried to open the videos on the organizer which it shows the video but with a yellow ? and says missing file. Is there anyway I can open these videos?
Any input is greatly appreciated!! I am sick over losing the videos and had a little hope on Adobe Organizer until I was unable to open them. I am thinking it is due to my external hard drive not being plugged in. I thought when I transferred from the external hard drive to Adobe 13 that it would be there without the external hard drive needing to be attached but maybe I did something wrong.

To what did your camera record those photos and videos - camera's internal memory, inserted memory card, other?
Any remote chance that the latter may still exist for you to use to download the camera files to your new external hard drive?

Hi, Hugo,
In similar cases it helped to remove the GarageBand "Preferences" file from the User Library.
Open the folder
your home folder > Library > Preferences
and move the file "com.apple.garageband.plist" to the Desktop.
Then try again to launch GarageBand.

Did you unzip the entire contents of the download zip file onto your hard drive before running the installer? You need to do that.
I have installed it myself and it went in just fine.

Download again, move the existing file out of the applications folder first.

Download has left me with missing files and cannot start iTunes

I was prompted to upgrade iTunes and so I did. The upgrade started when Genuis was still doing it's thing. At the end of the download, I was prompted to restart. I closed what I was working on and restarted. Now, I when I try to start iTunes, I get an error message that says there are missing files and that I should re-install iTunes. If I uninstall, will I lose the music files? I tried to re-download, but this did not fix anything. Any advice?

With that one in that context, I think we should check for malware.
Try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hour on my Lenovo.)
