Missing files to open my Photoshop CS5.1. Need to reinstall and do not know how. Help please.

I cannot open Photoshop CS5.1
Message says that I need to reinstall but I do not know how. Can someone help me please?

If you have the discs and serial number that came with CS5, you place the disc in your drive and run the installer program. Enter the serial number if asked.

  • Installing Photoshop CS5 on new Win8.1 - serial number not accepted. Help please!

    Hello everybody,
I just wanted to install Photoshop CS5 on my Windows 8.1 64bit machine, which also happenes to be a new machine. The serial number provided in my Adobe account is not accepted by the installer! The information I could gather from the "support" area points me to a problem which is caused by not properly uninstalling the previous install, am I right? I did not know this. Also, I am no native speaker and feel a little lost on this.
Please help, I need to use my copy of PS CS5, thanks!

  • My mac keeps telling me to open "Adobe Photoshop CS5" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime?

    Hi,
My mac keeps telling me to open “Adobe Photoshop CS5” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime? I have already done this several times. I recently foolishly updated to yosemite and now this error message keeps popping up! Any idea what to do?

and - check with Adobe - would strongly suspect you need to upgrade CS. Strongly consider Creative Cloud, access to the entire TypeKit alone is amazing.

  • Photoshop CS5 running on Win-8 and its not behaving well

Just loaded up Photoshop CS5.1 onto a new computer running Windows 8 (non-touchscreen desktop) and everything seemed fine until I selected part of an image to start transforming it.  The image went black and only flicked into view now and then but impossible to work on it at all.  Same thing happens on any other select and modify command.  Anyone have an idea or work-around on this?

    That's a known bug in Win8.
Set the GPU advanced mode to "Basic" for the time being.
Also check with your GPU maker for updated drivers.

I had to uninstall my photoshop elements as I deleted a texture and now I am trying to reinstall its just comes up saying that the wizard is saying that it was interrupted and its not installing pls help

Reneeb41086198 without a specific error I would recommend reviewing Troubleshoot installation | Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements | Windows which discusses common installation troubleshooting processes.
You may also want to consider evaluating Photoshop Elements 13 from Picture editor, edit pictures | Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 as it was designed to install and function under Windows 8.1.  Windows 8.1 was not available when Photoshop Elements 9 was released.

  • Nikon D750 NEF files doesnt open in Photoshop CS5.1 or in camera raw.

    Is CS5 to old?
I have installed CameraRaw_8_7 but it didn't help.
If CS5 is to old, what is the best way to upgrade?

ACR 8.7 requires at least CS6 to run.
I do not see your camera in the list of supported camera models yet.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
However, it is supported by the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.7RC (beta).  You need to look for, download, install and run that Adobe DNG Converter 8.7RC (beta) on each batch of raw NEF files to convert them to raw DNGs you can then open with CS5 and any version of ACR 6.x.

  • Please help with "You can't open the application NovamediaDiskSupressor because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." I have seen other responses on this but am not a techie and would not know how to start with that solution.

Please help with the message I am receving on startup ""You can't open the application NovamediaDiskSupressor because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
I have read some of the replies in the Apple Support Communities, but as I am no techie, I would have no idea how I would implement that solution.
Please help with what I need to type, how, where, etc.
    Many thanks

I am afraid there is no solution.
PowerPC refers to the processing chip used by Apple before they transferred to Intel chips. They are very different, and applications written only for PPC Macs cannot work on a Mac running Lion.
You could contact the developers to see if they have an updated version in the pipeline.

  • Cannot save any file opened in Photoshop CS5

Hi all, looking for some help...
    I've got a 27-inch Imac running:
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB
Storage: 1TB HD with 920 BG free
The problem is (thus far) exclusively with Photoshop CS5. I have the latest patch installed (12.0.4). No matter what file I open in Photoshop, I can't save. When I try to save, I get the following error:
This error occurs regardless of file type chosen, whether I 'save' or save-as' and both if I start a new file or if I try to alter an existing file. I have run disk permissions and disk repair on my mac with no luck thus far. I have googled this issue, and found lots of discussions with a similar issue involving the Photoshop preferences file. So, I deleted my preferences file and started over, no luck there. I have gone through and manually checked for locked files—the files are not locked. I have tried saving in as many locations as I can think of, still no luck.
This is a legit, updated copy of Photoshop CS5 on a relatively new computer with ample space... and it worked yesterday afternoon! I am wondering if uninstalling and re-installing Photoshop is the answer, but I thought I'd try here first.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Lindsay
PS: I have read this thread: "Could not save because write access was not granted." Unfortunately it doesn't help me, because I can't save-as either, and I am not working off a server.

Thanks Zeno -- you are the first person ever to answer my question "how big" with a precise amount.
I have never actually heard of an "exabyte" before and am blown away by its size of a billion gigabytes... there are a number of other interesting size limits according to the text towards the bottom of the Adobe tech note http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404439.html for which you sent me the link, but which I have never before been able to get from Adobe tech support.
An exabyte seemed so big that I needed to confirm it before I could believe it. From various sources including Wikipedia I was able to confirm that...
1 Exabyte = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 Bytes = 1018 bytes = 1 billion gigabytes = 1 million terabytes. There's an interesting table of all the names of different data sizes, from kilobyte to yottabyte, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exabyte
So if 4 exabytes is the max. size of a PSB file, I think it will just about be big enough for my puny little 16Gb file.
Thanks again for solving my problem.

I am not able to open my Photoshop CS5 files due to the following warning, "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered". Please help!

That could be caused by truly damaged file/s.

How did you create or get the file/s?

  • Aperture 3 edits are not applied when opening in Photoshop CS5.

I have Photoshop CS5 selected as external editor.  I apply some edits in Aperture 3 and then open in Photoshop cs5 to do heavier work, but aperture 3 edits are not applied.  I get a new image from Master.  How do I get the edited image to open in Photoshop CS5?  I would rather do the cropping and simpler edits in Aperture, then if needed open the edited file into CS5.  I can open the file, but it is missing all of my edits.  I have basically a raw master file that I have to start with, but don't have the advantage of the raw file.

I'm right clicking on the photo and selecting -> edit with Edit with Adobe Photoshop CS5.  The photo opens in Adobe, but it doesn't have any of the Aperture edits applied to it.  I would have to start from scratch doing these in photoshop.  I want to be able to do the Raw adjustments in Aperture and then open into Photoshop.
To test I applied a crop in Aperture and then opened that file in Photoshop.  The full size image opens in Photoshop.

  • Bridge CS4 won't open to Photoshop CS5 out of Camera Raw?

I use Bridge CS4 because I prefer it to bridge CS5 but when I edit images in ACR in bridge cs4 and click 'Open Image' I want it to open automatically in PS CS5 and instead it opens always into PS CS4.  In preferences>file type associations, everything is set to CS5 so I don't know how to direct opening images from ACR to open in photoshop CS5 not CS4.  I've had it working on a different system but I don't remember what I did to get it to work.

Uh huh...and why would you expect CS5 to open the image from Bridge CS4? You haven't stated why you are trying to use Bridge CS4, but as you've found out, that is not an optimal solution....(BTW, troubleshooting 101 dictates that you at least mention what platform and OS you are using).

  • Images opened in Photoshop CS5 has a blue-tinted grayscale

I was using Photoshop CS5 (64-bit) fine yesterday but today each image I open shows a loss of colour, everything looks like a blue tinted grayscale.
The same with RAW files oipened in ACR and all files opened in Bridge.
When I open a JPEG version in Microsoft Image Viewer the colour is fine.
In Windows, the thumbnails look fine with full colour in the folders.
The loss of colour only happens when the image files are opened in Photoshop, Bridge and ACR.
Anyone out there who can help?
    Many thanks.

Many thanks to Silkrooster, Alec Molloy & Chris Cox, for all your help and time.
Just for info - the Huey Pro calibrator has worked well with this monitor (Dell U2410) for at least a couple of years now.
I tried old profiles created previously using the HueyPRO but they did not work, so I deleted them from the System32/spool/drivers/color folder.
Then a new HueyPRO-created monitor profile did not work, so I deleted that as well.
Then at start up, the HueyPRO seemed to auto-create its own monitor profile which it named:  "hueyPRO Dell U2410 F525MOA70DKL.icc"
But that gave the same loss of colour when opening files in Photoshop
So I think Chris is exactly right - the problem must be with the HueyPRO "cigar" hardware, or with its software, so I may well have been bothering you all unnecessarily.
I'll try getting a new hueyPRO - but not too common in the shops here in central Africa.
In the meantime, I've uninstalled HueyPRO and I'm using a reference image to calibrate using the NVIDEA Control Panel (I'm working on a commission for two photo calendars at the moment and so have to keep it going....).
Any recommendations on a better calibrator (but a non-too technical one!)??

  • How do you tell which files are open in bridge cs5?

In adobe bridge for CS2, open files in Photoshop show an icon in the lower right corner of the bridge thumnail. This is really helpful in sorting if you have a lot of files open. I can't figure out how to tell in bridge CS5 which files are open in photoshop. Is there a menu option that controls this??

Thanks for the reply. This is a useful feature but not quite what I need.
I am sorting through 2000 wedding photos. I have maybe 10 versions of the same shot open at a time. I edit, save, and close 2-3 of them. In CS2, I would go back to bridge and I could see the 7 files still open. I could quickly highlight and delete them. I'm trying to find a way to do something similar in CS5 bridge. Right now, I take the ones I'm going to delete and stack them all. But when I go back to bridge to delete them, I have to look at file numbers to see which ones are in the stack that I want to delete. This really slows my work flow. Any suggestions? Can I delete them directly from Photoshop?

In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?
    thx for any input
