Missing files when updating the new itunes
I updated itunes and when i tried to start it, it said that itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes
Perform a Thorough & Complete Uninstall and Reinstall of iTunes/QuickTime

If you want to guarantee a successful upgrade and be proactive about minimizing potential install issues, do the following:
1. Completely Backup your music and iTunes library files.
2. Virus check / spyware scan your machine.
3. Completely remove / uninstall the current version of iTunes and QuickTime from your system.....
3a. – Do a Stepwise clean uninstallation of iTunes
3b. - Then download and install the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility
.....And make sure iTunes is really gone.
4. Delete the contents of your temp folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp
5. Reboot the PC
6. Turn off all security software such as Norton, McAfee, SpySweepers, any TSRs, etc. (exit via the system tray)
7. Start with the QuickTime standalone installer run from the PC (not directly from on-line)
8. Reboot the PC
9. Turn off all security software such as Norton, McAfee, SpySweepers, any TSRs, etc. (exit via the system tray)
10. First completely download, then run the latest iTunes Installer from your PC
11. Reboot the PC
The majority of problems out there on the discussion boards are caused by viruses or other system corruption — sometimes self-inflicted by the user (i.e. - people who turn off necessary Windows services) — or out of date drivers. You may want to consider this if your PC falls into one of these categories.

When installing the new iTunes software, the message : "the older version of apple software update cannot be removed." What should I do? I tried deleting files related through control panel or the manual way, but it doesn't work. Am I missing something?
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

The computer insnt letting me update the new itunes. So i deleted it all and now it ses when i try to download a new one that it cant delet the old itunes ... what could i do
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

If you created/burned Recovery Media boot from it to restore the original OS with all drivers/software. If you don't have Recovery Media you can order from HP for a small fee. I have a problem when updated the new release of iphoto version(11 jun 2012). After that I cannot open any photo libraries and program is error. I must to force quit iphoto window. There are any fixed bug update.
If you have no photos:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library' and start.

Where is the iPad App file sharing in the new itunes?
I exported a file from ArtRage App. One is supposed to go to iPad Tab, then Apps Section, and scroll to the bottom and find the file. But I just updated to the new iTunes and I don't see a way get the file anywhere within it. What should I do to get the file in the New itunes? the only help information I can find is from the last version. ...I should not have updated...

Then select the iPad on that left-hand sidebar, and on the right-hand side of iTunes select the Apps tab and scroll down it, and you should see the file sharing section - select that app on the left-hand side of that section

I just downloaded the "new itunes". I have a lot of duplicate songs but the "answer" I found about how to do this starts with "
Choose File > Display Duplicates to show duplicate items..." There is no FILE in the new software. How can I do this?The show duplicates feature is now under the View menu. Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Or use my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background.

When downloading the new itunes, my computer stuck at half way point.
When i downloaded the new itunes softwear today, it only installed half of the softwear. now i have lost the itunes logo on my desktop, cant sync my iphone or ipad. it tells me i now need to reinstall itunes! does that mean i will lose all my music that i already have on my computer?

I just updated the new iTunes and now all my playlists are gone!! What the heck?!
All my playlist are gone from itunes with the new update. If I click on "sync" it asks me to erase all my music and videos... Is there a way to avoid doing this? Thanks.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
In the unlikely event that your media has been wiped from your computer see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

When attempting to download the new version of itunes I was able to complete the download without a problem but cannot open the icon when everthing is done. I unistalled everything and reinstalled, I followed all the trouble-shooting guides, I attempted to download an older version and nothing is working. Prior to attempting to download this "new and improved version of itunes" everything was working fine. Unfortunately I had to update when I got a new iPhone and wanted to sync it to my old library and needed an updated version of itunes.
Restart Computer.
Refer steps here to delete SC file(s):
Win7/Vista http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
WinXP http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1776
Then proceed to repair your QuickTime. START > CONTROL PANEL
WinXP - Add n Remove Programs
Win7/Vista - Programs n Features
highlight QUICKTIME and click CHANGE then REPAIR
