Missing functionality of file conversion by right click in windows

Previously I was able to right click on a file on the desktop of folder which would bring up a window which had "conver to pdf" and other pdf options.  Due to a crash, I had to reinstall Acrobat Pro 8 but the ability to right click on a file and convert to pdf is no longer available in the right click menu.  I have reinstalled Acrobat and updated but to no avail.  I am using XP and Office 2207.  I have no problems converting from within the application such as Word or in Acrobat but would like the convenience of being able to convert by right clicking a file.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
Stan

I checked the preferences and document settings and there wasn't anything that could be configured there.  Thanks any way.

Select the file with one click, then go to File in the menu bar and select Compress...
By the way Niel's post says control - click. This means click with the control key held down. It produces the same result as going to File in the menu bar and selecting Compress...

  • Yahoo mail won't download .bmp files when you right click, it saves as html.

I use yahoo mail and a lot of my groups send pictures imbedded. I can right click and save image with .jpg files, but .bmp files save web pages instead of bitmap. I can use Internet Explorer and save image (as .bmp files) when I right click.
I'm using Windows XP if that makes a difference.

go mail.yahoo.com as the login entrance for yahoo mail.

  • How do I simulate a right-click in Windows when connected with Remote Desktop 8.0 for Mac OS X?

When connecting to a remote Windows 7 OS from Mac OS X 10.8.5 with Microsoft Remote Desktop 8.0.24091, I'm not able to simulate a right-click with the Apple magic mouse.
On an older version Microsoft Remote Desktop Client version 2.1.1, I can hold down shift+ctl on the Mac and click the magic mouse to simulate a right-click in Windows.  With this new version RDP 8.0, I can't find any way to simulate a right-click,
other than to select "Swap mouse buttons" under settings, and then every click is a right-click and then I'm no longer able to left-click (which is even worse).  I've tried several key combinations and nothing seems to work.  Am I missing
something simple here with the new RDP 8.0 application, or is the right-click simulation not (yet) functional?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

In order to make use of the right-click inside an open session you have three options:
Standard PC two button USB mouse
Apple Magic Mouse: To enable right-click, clickSystem Preferences in the dock, click Mouse, and then enable Secondary click.
Apple Magic Trackpad or MacBook Trackpad: To enable right-click, click System Preferences in the dock, click Mouse, and then enable Secondary click.

There's no "New File" shortcut in Finder on Macs, so you have to launch the application you want (eg TextEdit), create your document, and save it there. There are workarounds using Terminal (the touch command), AppleScript/Automator, and using third-party launch programs like Quicksilver, but natively, it can't be done.

  • HT3986 How do I right click on Windows installed using Bootcamp?

How do I right click on Windows installed using Bootcamp?

It should work the same way it does in OSX, but for it to work correctly, you need to install the Boot Camp drivers in Windows. You can do this by using the Boot Camp Assistant in OSX, then creating the "Windows support software (drivers)" package. Follow the instructions there, then use the resulting thumbdrive to install the drivers and apps into Windows. Then you should be able to two-finger-click the touchpad or right-click your mighty mouse or other two-button-enabled mouse.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4407 for more info on this.
Caveat: I've done this, and I've found that the two-finger-click in Windows is iffy. That is, it frequently triggers a left-click function instead of right-click. :-/

  • How do I install right click to windows running on mac

Look in Control Panel -> System -> Boot Camp -> Track Pad tab.

  • When downloading a file, if I right-click and select new the submenu is not displayed

I have Firefox 12 installed; running XP SP3. Options/General/Always ask me where to save files is selected. If I download a file and select save file, I will get a save file to dialog. If I right-click in the dialog and select new, there is no submenu displayed. As a consequence, I cannot create a new folder in which to save the selected file. New will simply try to create a shortcut.

That Save As dialog that you see is part of Windows Explorer, including the contextual menu including "New". So, this sounds more like you may have a problem at a more fundamental operating system level, because Firefox (as far as I know) doesn't do anything, or even can, modify the content of the context menus of an Explorer window.
Could you provide a screenshot of what you see to make sure we're talking about the same thing here? Thanks!

  • "Combine supported files in Acrobat" right-click funtion is slow or locks up system since upgrade to Office 2013

I have several admins who have for years combined quantities of large Word documents into a single PDF by highlighting them, right-clicking, and selecting "Combine supported files in Acrobat."  Until recently, they were all using Office 2010 Pro Plus and a variety of versions of Acrobat - Standard 9, Professional 9, Standard 10.  They said it was quick and painless.  We've recently deployed Office 2013 Pro Plus, and they are complaining that doing the same thing they've always done is either completing but yeilding only the first document in the resulting PDF or rendering their systems unresponsive.  I have reproduced their issues and have found some evidence online of Possible incompatibilities between Office programs and the Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin add-in, however Adobe's list of Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications indicates that Office 2013 supports PDFMaker versions as old as Acrobat 6, and we are not that outdated.  Any suggestions?  This is crippling their productivity.
    Thanks!
    Carrie

Only the updated Acrobat XI supports Office 2013. The updates are necessary to address the changes to OFFICE introduced after Acrobat XI was released (OFFICE 2013 is more recent than the original AA XI release). No other versions of Acrobat can be used with OFFICE 2013 other than printing to the Adobe PDF printer.

  • Right Click in Windows Vista (Bootcamp)

the two finger tapping works GREAT in OSX, but can I do something similar while running vista?
The two finger gesturing seems to work nice for scrolling, what about the right click?
Or Is there atleast a 3rd party program that will allow me to map the right click button to something on the keyboard? I only need it for certain applications that require right click functions.
Also im aware a external mouse is a very good option, but i'm mostly concerned about portability and I dont like the idea of bringing a mouse with me.

I just found the double finger + Mouse Click function works as right click
however id still like to know if anyone knows of a good right click mapping application (for Windows)

  • Right-click on windows 8.1 with update (problems)

    Hi guys.
I have a strange problem on Windows 8.1 with update.
If I right click on a file the Menu opens and closes in same second.
It does not happen if I click on folders.
Even if I sign out from Windows it's the same.
    Any hints?

Ok, the link that you have provided did not help me very much.
I needed to delete my profile on this machine, but after that I got stucked with error:
You've been signed in with a temporary profile.
You can't access your files, and files created in this profile will be deleted when you sign out.
To fix this, sign out and try signing in later. Please see the event log for more details or contact your system administrator.
    I've used this solution:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/38817-you-ve-been-signed-temporary-profile-fix.html, which partly solved my problem (temporary profile error dissappeared), but ran into new problems, for example when I search and click for region settings I recieve
    this error in printscreen:
Although I have managed that settings thru Control Panel/Region, but recieving upper error a little bit concerns me. Any hints?
    With best regards

  • Need to Disable Right Click FF10+ windows

Need to at least remove the save as feature but ideally disable right click all together.

You can't hide the right-click context menu, but you can hide items in the right-click context menu via an extension like the Menu Editor or via code in the userChrome.css file in the chrome folder.

its really what the title says. i have installed windows xp home ed. and the right click doesnt work could anyone help.
    thanks,

I believe there is no second button under the trackpad button, so what you'll have to do is set it up to allow for you to control+click to substitute as a right click. OR you can use a usb or bluetooth mouse when you use windows.
Here is a website that explains what to do, I noticed it also has the file you need available for download.
