Missing gaps in grid mode?

When I scroll up and down all the previews are there. then I stop dragging the bar and quite a few of the image previews (small..or bigger) just dissapear and leave a grey gap! :-/ anyone?
turned filter off etc... not seen this before this morning!...
help! need images for a job :(
they are still in finder though.. but I cant loose the settings for them!

Right, investigating further, the image is missing from the film reel at the bottom, there is a blank there with file info (file name) and this CAN be selected. Double clicking shows the image in Loupe mode. I had an error: "error in changing modes" and the image does not show in Develop, Print or Web.
I'm trying to remove but not delete the file, reimporting doesn not work, LR says the file is still there so won't import.
LR tells me the file is not in it's library when searching for it, but won't let me import again, saying it is in the library.
Definitely a bug.

Lightroom 5.2RC Screen Flicker in Library Grid Mode

Having a screen flicker problem since 5.cRC came out, but only in Library/Grid mode when scrolling or selecting from the grid. But only when there are more images than can fit on one page in the grid.

I've been having the exact same problem with Lightroom 5.2. I also have an Nvidia card, a GeForce GT 610, and driver version 327.23. One additional part of the problem is that I can hear almost constant disk access when in grid view mode in the library module. That seems to be related to Lightroom refreshing the display as I scroll down through the images. On newly imported images, it takes about two seconds for each thumbnail to just display the keyword symbol in the lower right corner. After the first time scrolling through all the images, it goes a bit faster. Even then, CPU usage goes up to 80% just by selecting a new group of files.
It almost seems like something is making it take a long time to build each thumbnail and sync all the information that's associated with that thumbnail before it will let you do any other work with it. I don't think it's really associated with the dislay driver. I never had this problem with LR 4.4, it's just since I upgraded. I also never had an ealier version of LR 5; I went right to 5.2 from 4.4.

Keeping a 2nd monitor in Grid mode

Hello,
I'm trying to keep a 2nd monitor locked into grid mode? For example when editing; monitor 1 is in Loupe mode, 2nd in Grid mode when I do a find the monitors will switch modes? So the 2nd goes from grid to loupe and the main monitor goes to grid mode.

I guess it's a bug.
(In case you wonder about my setup: my second monitor is smaller and I prefer to use it for tool panels etc. It would also be ideal to carry the Lightroom grid view by default for quick navigation, while working on the individual images on the first monitor. Not too far-fetched a setup, I guess.)
No it's by design. The grid on the second monitor is actually a vertically stretched version of the filmstrip. So, you can forget any ideas about being able to edit multiple images on the second monitor.

Resizing Album Art in Grid Mode

I don't know why they changed this but there used to be a little scroll bar at the bottom of grid mode and you could resize the album art in grid mode. Now it only comes in one size no matter how many albums you have. Is there anyway to change it? Has apple fixed this? Thanks

If i change my display profile in the system preferences to the default, they disappear.
But that can’t be the solution.

ITunes in Grid mode crushingly slow in Mavericks

How do I set my secondary monitor to automatically default to grid mode?

I'm using Lightroom 3.2 and everytime I open the app to either import photos or work on the ones I already have imported it defaults to grid mode on primary monitor and full mode on my secondary.
Is there a way to tell Lightroom to do the opposite. Have the secondary monitor default to grid mode and the main window default to full mode. This would make it more intuitive and more efficient when switching between library and develope modes.

Modification date instead of Capture date in Grid mode

I've noticed that in Grid mode (expanded cell information) Lightroom show Modification date instead of Capture date. How can I correct this?

You are certainly right. One thing that is interesting is that when LR (when the import was made, few years from now, I don't know which version I was running, probably 4, but it might have been 5 already. Now I use 5.6) imported the IMG_8491.JPG picture, it seems to me that it created a folder 20051107, using the EXIF:DateTime (which is there 2005:11:07 10:36:30) or the XMP:ModifyDate (which holds the same value)
But when it shows in the cell what I ask (Capture date), LR seems to show file system's last-modification date
To correct this, as you suggest, I just have to add a Capture Date. I don't know if pyexiftoolgui allows me to do that

Apple loops shrinks creating a gap when Flex mode is on

I've notice this happens me always with any apple loop.
when drag to the arrange window, it behaves at it should, (say, 8 beats, occupy 2 measures and loop correctly),
after flex is applied on that same track/loop, it shortens and doesn't loop correctly leaving a gap at the end as you can see in the bottom screen I've sent.
I would like to preserve the length of the loop, after applying Flex mode too.
This is happening independently if I import loop tempo or not, and in two other machines at the studio.
What can cause this?
Can you please tell me what prefs I have to turn on or off, so the loop behaves has it should.

From what I understand, the product team is collecting feedback on the limitations of Live View for FG layouts and improving experience on that front. It would help if you could provide a list of limitations with the current workflow.

Lightroom Library Grid Mode - Uncommanded Ratings Changes and System Crash

I have Lightroom 5. When I am in Library Mode and Grid view with a rating filter set, I get the following:
On multiple occasions, when the mouse is in the vicinity of the "set Rating" stars, the existing ratings of photos in the grid start changing one after the other for no reason (no mouse clicks).
When I try to use the Undo command to restore the correct prior rating,. Lightroom ALWAYS crashes and shutsdown.
Has anyone seen this before?

Are you using a Bluetooth mouse? My Apple Magic Mouse sometimes scrolls by itself for a few instants after I click on something. By that I mean that if I move it sideways or up and down, without having my fingers on its top, it acts as if I had swiped my finger on its active surface. If this happens while your cursor is on or near the ratings field, it may act as if you were changing the rating on purpose? Of course, this is just a guess, as you did not state your OS or hardware.

Exchange 2013 - Attachments in *.EML files missing in non-cached mode

Our client recently upgraded from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. Since the migration they have had issues with an archiving system they use. Bascially the archiving system creates .eml files of journaled emails.
The issue our client has is when Outlook is running in non-cached exchange mode any attachments within these .eml files are missing when the eml file is opened. If they change to cached mode the attachments show up fine.
It's almost identical to the following issue I found while browsing the net:

Aside from the Exchange version this is exactly what is happening for our client. Is anyone aware of whether the same issue fixed in Rollup update 5 for Exch 2010 SP1 is still present in Exchange 2013?
Our client has already said they don't want everyone using cached exchange so I can't tell them that. Is there a way to manually fix the issue or are we going to have to move back to Exchange 2010 while a patch is sent out? Does anyone know exactly what
the issue is?

I know there was this issue with Exchange 2010, but haven't noticed the same issue in Exchange 2013. The suggestion would be to keep Exchange fully updated - It seems you have done so.

Properties panel missing things in css mode (CS4)

Hi - I'm doing a tutorial in css with a Dreamweaver CS4 pre-designed layout. I want to make a nav bar by using an unordered list and hyperlinking the words in the list.
My properties panel (bottom of the window) in css mode does not show a box for links or a gizmo for making lists, indents, etc.Shouldn't those be available?
Do I have to use the menus at the top? Do I switch to <>HTML to get the features that are missing in css mode?

"Recovery" missing from RAW editing mode in PSE12?

I had just discovered the brilliant Camera RAW editing mode (for photos in other formats) in PSE 10. When I tried it in PSE 12 I noticed the "recovery" slider, which is essential to getting the best exposure results, is no longer there.
What am I missing? Is there something else I should be doing to compensate for overexposure (as indicated by the red when the alert is turned on)? I had some success adjusting the "white" slider-- is that my only option now?

The whole raw engine got a serious overhaul and has been greatly improved from what you're used to in PSE 10. I'd suggest googling for a tutorial on how to use the new process, but if you really want to go back to the old version, in the Calibrate tab just choose the older version:

I have a simple SQL question on how to find gaps. I have a Table : GLHDR_M, with ACCID as the key field having Account Ids starting from 'A1000001' to 'A3999999' but having gaps inbetween. I want to reallocate the missing Ids to the newly created ones. How can I find the missing Ids with a simple SQL statement?

Missing Dock after Sleep Mode

Hi everyone,
Lately, I have been watching a lot of DVDs before i sleep and I would usually fall asleep before the end of the movie. This would result in me waking up in the morning with the computer in sleep mode.
Reinitiating the computer results in the dock being completely missing. At first I thought it was just a 'one-time' thing, but I decided to let it happen a few more nights in a row just to see if this would be a reoccuring problem.
Unfortunately, it has and i have noticed that everytime i keep the computer awake for it to fall asleep by itself, waking up the computer in the morning results in the dock being missing.
I have tried system preferences and everything you can imagine, but the only solution to this problem is to reboot the computer.
Can someone please explain to me why this problem occurs and what needs to be done to rectify this?
Also, out of curiosity, is it bad for the computer to be always on sleep mode? Would it be better if i just turned it off completely before going to bed?

I would trash the dock preference file (com.apple.dock.plist) and restart.
In answer to your question, I am of the school that believes turning electronics on and off repeatedly shorten the time to failure. I always sleep my iMacs and only turn them off when i am away for a few days.
