Missing "Get" Button - Win7 64-bit, iTunes Trailers section

I've tried posting this issue in the QuickTime forum without any luck, so figured I'd give it a shot here. I'm using the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime on Windows 7 64-bit. The "Get" button has disappeard from the Movie Trailers section of iTunes. Normally I'd avoid this section altogether, but I was forced to it by the dreaded "Error 47" at trailers.apple.com.
This seems to be a 64-bit specific issue, as it does not occur on any of my 32-bit machines (XP / Win7).
Any ideas?

Not an Apple engineer myself, so I'm not privy to the precise whys and wherefores of why it's like that, I'm afraid. But if you removed the 32-bit componentry, iTunes wouldn't run on any Windows system (32-bit or 64-bit).
Might be best to check in at the iTunes for Mac community for details on to what extent iTunes for Mac is still 32-bit (if at all) for any of the newer Mac OSes. Here's a link through to them:

Any other suggestions out there folks?

On Oracle Metalink site, there are many documents which says that Oracle 32 bit software works on 32 bits OS and 64 bits software works on 64 bits OS. Official support is only in those combination....
So there is no good way to help you in your case-XE is 32 bit application with hard codded compiled libraries which most of them would not work on 64 bit OS.

  • ITunes 10.5 update Win7 32 bit Error 5?

    iTunes 10.5 update Win7 32 bit Error 5?

Changing the localization option simply changes the labels and folders iTunes will use for new content. Existing connect properly connected to the library should remain connected. If you've got files that are missing in action, ie. display with an exclamation mark, then they need to be relinked to the library before they can be transferred to your devices.
The default location for a Movie or TV Show also varies according to whether or not the library is in the new "iTunes Media Organisation" layout. Movies used to be lumped into a single folder, but now each get their own. I have a script called FindTracks that can search a media folder in either new or old layout and attempts to reconnect missing items. It currently assumes the US naming for Movies and TV Shows, though I guess I could tweak it for the alternate names if it would be useful. How many files are you trying to reconnect?

  • ITunes Win7 64-bit won't open older library

Updated iTunes on Win7, 64-bit laptop and it now won't open ... posts an error message of "can't open library file created with older version". I performed the upgrade on my XP-Pro 32-bit laptop with no issues, and a clean upgrade/update of my iPhone. Can't get it to work on the Win7 64-bit machine and, yes, I did indeed download the correct version of iTunes for Win7, 64-bit. I'm thinking the older version on the Win7 machine was not kept up and got too old to upgrade ... is that a possibility?

Just tried this after itunes crashed consistently - wouldn't open.
NOW I can sign the license agreement but get the message : "The iTunes library .itl file cannot be found or created. The default locatioin for this file is in the iTunes folder in the Music folder.
I can do a search for the most recently saved .itl iTunes library (from 10/18, sigh). But I can't figure out where to put that once I find it.
    Any help? Thanks!

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Windows 7, 64 bit, iTunes 10.3. Nothing works anymore! I keep getting error 7, 14001 along with a side by side app error. I've tried wiping out all apple programs and re-installing a 100 times, nothing works. I've been messing with this 2 weeks!

I've searched the net , and I've noticed a lot of people seem to b having this same problem. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm out of options and getting rather annoyed with apple. Please help me!  I think I've given all the info needed about my operating system. Windows 7, 64 bit, iTunes 10.3. I've erased everything re-installed it, no joy; removed again and downloaded QuickTime and iTunes separately, no good; I've removed and re-installed numerous different ways, numerous times and nothing works. All of the apple programs that are installed with iTunes have this same error.  Ive been messing with this for over 2 weeks! Any help would be appreciated, especially if it works!!!!

ATA bus error means that data corruption occurred during transmission over ATA bus (SATA or PATA). This type of errors can be indicated by
ICRC or ABRT error as described in the section called “ATA/ATAPI device error (non-NCQ / non-CHECK CONDITION)”.
Controller-specific error completion with error information indicating transmission error.

Unknown/random errors, timeouts and all sorts of weirdities.
As described above, transmission errors can cause wide variety of symptoms ranging from device ICRC error to random device lockup, and, for many cases, there is no way to tell if an error condition is due to transmission error or not; therefore, it's necessary to employ some kind of heuristic when dealing with errors and timeouts. For example, encountering repetitive ABRT errors for known supported command is likely to indicate ATA bus error.
Once it's determined that ATA bus errors have possibly occurred, lowering ATA bus transmission speed is one of actions which may alleviate the problem.
I'd also add; make sure you have good backups when ATA errors are frequent

When I connect my iPod Touch to the computer and try to sync with iTunes, I keep getting the message that I have to uninstall the 32 bit iTunes and install the 64 bit iTunes. We've already done this and it won't recognize either the iPod or the iPad. HELP, please!!!

honestly on a Windows I do not know how, there are programs that you can download that will tell you, and there are unix scripts that can tell you. to find out how, you might want to talk to somebody who owns a windows and is proficient in using it.

It says it has successfully downloaded and installed, but when I try to connect my new iPhone 6 to iTunes i get an error message 'need to install new software' but i thought i had! Please help me as i have had to connect my phone to someone else's mac and therefor don't have my music etc on my phone HELP!  I have had IT support at work trying to figure it out and no one can!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    HI daddio,
Ok some things first I need to know...Did you use Microsoft cleanup utility to clean up all those uninstalls you have done?
I hate Norton and anyone who reads my posts will know that. I have seen way too many infected PC's by Norton users. Did you try the EWIDO and AdAware scan? I see you said you read lots of posts. That is helping folks remove the malware in order to get iTunes and quicktime back to health.
