Welcome to the "Skype no longer works on XP" "bug". If you go to 7.6 or 7.7(just tested this morning), it will eat up all the system resources until no programs can function properly. Activating Importing Contacts into new Skype ID

Hi,
I just set up a new Skype ID as the old one didn't really reflect my business anymore. So I backed up my contacts and then imported them into my new Skype which seemed to work but now all my contacts show as not accepted.
I have tried selecting them and re-requesting from the menu but this doesn't work, they are simply not seeing these requests, and it is not because they have ignored the first attempt, they are just not getting them at all.
I have tried deleting the contacts and resubmitting a request but again, no luck.
How do I get over this block where Skype believes it has sent a request but it hasn't?
I am runing the latest version of Skype and these people are all approved contacts in my old account and in the main, do want to be in my new account.
I have even asked some to request me under my new ID but their requests don't seem to get to me either, it seems that all the people I imported from my old ID have been blocked (even though they do not appear in the block list).

Calendar and Contact tab missing

Hi, I am trying to Sync my contacts and calendars to my 5g iPod but the Calendar and Contact tabs are missing.
I'm using iTunes version 6.0.1 (3)
and also version 1.0 of the iPod video software.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry about me not making it more clear, I was in a hurry. but the tabs are missing from the iPod settings menu in iTunes. (iTunes-->preferences-->iPod)
I've tried re-installing iTunes many times. Nothing has ever changed though. I've also tried reformatted my mac since then and it's the same problem everytime.
Hopefully that information helps.

"Contacts" Tab missing when syncing iPod in iTunes 7

My mother just upgraded to iTunes 7
when she did so, she can not sync her contacts or calendar. With my machine, when you hook up your iPod, you get the new iPod Summary tab, Music Tab, Podcast Tab, & Contacts Tab in iTunes 7. With my mother, she doesnt have a "Contacts" tab.
Her information is:
iPod software version: 3.1.1
iTunes: 7.0
OS X: 10.3.9
Processor: G5

Trouble importing contacts from a tab-delimited file into Contacts on 10.9.5

I am having Trouble importing contacts from a tab-delimited file into Contacts on MacBook Pro, OS 10.9.5, Intel 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo., 400GB drive, 4GB memory DDR3
So far I have:
- Followed closely the help screen in Contacts app
- Modified my source document meticulously - first in MS Word, then copied and tweaked in Apple's "Text Edit" app
- The problem arises when I go to access the document for import. Specifically, the target document, and all others in that file, are "greyed out" and thus can't be "opened" to facilitate the import process
- Tried changing the extension of the document name to ".txt", ".rtf", and ".rtd". No change or improvement.
- Searched Apple.com/help and found nothing relevant
Can anyone offer some advice or tell me what I may be overlooking in this process?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

But I don't need to use GUI upload because my functionality does not require to fetch data from presentation server.
Moreover, the split command advised by you contains separate fields...f1, f2, f3... and I cannot use it because I have 164 fields. I will have to split into 164 fields and assign the values back to 164 fields in the work area/header line.
Moreover I have about 10 such work areas. so the effort would be ten times the above effort! I want to avoid this! Please help!
I would be very grateful if you could provide an alternative solution.

5gen Nano iTunes 10.1.0.54 device page missing "Contacts" tab?

Been having major issues trying to sync Outlook 2010 calendar to 5gen Nano. New version of iTunes does not have the "Contacts" tab at the top bar when you click on the iPod icon, under "Devices" on left side vertical bar. Is this a reason I cannot sync my Outlook calendar? Is Outlook 2010 to new for iTunes 10.1.0.54 running on Windows Vista Home SP2?

OK. This is how I fixed it.
It seems that CoreAudioToolbox.dll 7.9.4.0 is broken. there are numerous topics on the subject on this forum. Version 7.9.3.0 works and is available in the Safari download at time of posting. Who knows how long it will remain so.
Download the Safari installer from the Apple site.
Stop iTunes if it is running.
Likewise QuickTime.
Navigate to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\ folder. (You need an account with administration priviliges.)
Rename the errant CoreAudioToolbox.dll
Use a utilty such as 7Zip to extract the SafariSetup.exe archive.
Go to the resultant SafariSetup folder and select the AppleApplicationSupport archive and extract using 7Zip.
Go to the resultant AppleApplicationSetup folder and find the AppleApplicationSupport.cab (cabinent) file. Open the file in 7Zip and look for CoreAudioToolbox.dll and extract the file.
Copy it to the location of the original file.
Relaunch iTunes and sync as 128 kbps AAC is now well.
WinRar or WinZip etc. should work just as well. However I used 7Zip.

UCCX9 unable to import contacts in outbound compaign

UCCX 9.
When I try to import contacts in outbound compaign I have the following window. And Indicator "Status: Ready" whirls all the time and nothing else happens.

I've already tried spaces after coma, another field arrangements and... and... all in vane.
Does any one know what's wrong?

Microsoft Office is not a problem, you have the license key for it so it's just a matter of getting it installed and using the old key.
If you have a newer OS X verison that won't run the older Office version, then usually there is a upgrade fee to install the newer, more compatible Office version.
You can't use the old verison copied to the new drive, it's copy protected and you won't get all the parts anyway.

I assume you already have the drive in the machine.
Install/upgrade RAM or storage drive in Mac's
Connect the computer via Ethernet cable to the router.
Hold the command option r keys down and boot the computer up.
Open Disk Utility and select your disk0 drive on the left and click Partition.
Choose Partition Layout 1, click the box and click Option: GUID Format: OS X Extended Journaled Name: MacintoshHD click Apply.
Click on Erase tab move slider one spot to the right (Zero) click Erase and go take a rest and let it complete.
If the Zero fails the drive is bad, return it.
Once completed check #4 is correct as shown.
Quit Disk Utiltiy and choose install OS X. If there is no place to install it, quit and do #4.
Install OS X onto the MacintoshHD partition with your AppleID and password. Quit and reboot.
Setup your machine. Upgrade to a later OS X verison in AppStore if you had it.
Use a SATA to USB adapter to your old drive.
Select the drive and Finder > Get Info and at the bottom select "Ignore Permissions on this volume"
Copy your files over and avoid any corruption areas.

Cannot Import Contacts

Hi, I recently made a switch from BB to iPhone5s. But i'am having problem with importing contacts from BB to iPhone. I have saved my contacts in my PC (not mac) connected to itunes. But once itunes is connected with the phone, the side tab is missing (pic attached) from where normally contacts can be retrieved. I tried from multiple PCs but problem persists.

This is real shortcoming with the Contacts application. Apple should spend more time and resources ensuring their core applications function correctly. Here's the convoluted solution from Apple support regarding this problem, I found in another thread:

Same problem. Importing contacts lets them flash into the contacts app, and then they disappear within a few seconds to match the empty icloud website. btw. I'm in Mountain Lion on one of my macs, where Address Book is now Contacts
Spent 2 hours with apple support today with senior support person, and the following procedure fixed it for me
1. disconnect from internet (switch off wifi, or unplug ethernet cable)
2. in Contacts application, import all contacts
3. in System Preferences/icloud untick contacts
4.    when prompted to delete or keep, choose keep (moves contacts to "on my mac")
        confirm that the contacts are now on your mac
5. in System Preferences/icloud tick contacts
6.    when prompted to replace or merge, choose merge
7. connect to internet
8. in Contacts application, drag all contacts from "on my mac" to "icloud"
9. in Contacts application, drag all groups (one by one) into "icloud"
        confirm that all your contacts have been moved over and the groups are all ok
10. delete all the contacts in "on my mac"
11. in Contacts/preferences select default addressbook = "icloud"
12. sigh with relief
Come on, Apple, you have to do better than this.

I can't import contacts from Outlook to Address Book

I've tried to do the research before asking this question, but I can't get this to work. How do you import contacts from Microsoft Outlook to Address book? When I try to export from Outlook, the only option I have is .csv file, it doesn't give me an option to export as a vcard. I've exported to a .csv file and tried importing this into Address Book as a text file, and it opens up a window called Text File Import. When I click OK nothing happens. I'm new to the Mac world so I don't know what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

One way if you are still accessing an email account with Outlook is the following:
In Contacts, click the contact you want to send as a vCard or select all to send all, and then on the Actions menu, click Forward as vCard.
All contacts will be added to a new message created as separate vCard attachments. Send the message to an email account you are accessing with the Mail.app on the Mac.
Create a folder on the Mac desktop or in your location of choice and save all vCard attachments received via email to this folder.
Launch Address Book and at the menu bar, go to File > Import and select vCards navigating to the folder that contains the vCard files sent from Outlook.

As I read this thread, I can see where the solution for Heather would qork for exporting maiboxes and contacts from Outlook (windows version) and then into apple mail or entourage. I have a tougher problem.
My wife is upgrading from an old Imac (OS 9.1.2) using Outlook Express5.0 to a MacBook. She has years of email and contacts on her old client.
I am familiar with exporting and importing, but I don't even see a choice for exporting messages on the Outlook Express client.
Can anyone help here? Geez, Apple should be at fault here for building such a reliable machine that we didn't' have to upgrade earlier. Just kidding.

Don't have Import contacts choice

Hello!
I have problem with Skype to connect with Facebook. I didn't had that problem before, I had all Facebook contact in Skype and had notifications from Facebook, I don't know what happened. I have tried to add Facebook again but I can't because I don't have IMPORT CONTACTS choice. I have tried so many different things but I can't understand why I don't have this choice. Also Skype home isn't help me to get contact with Facebook at all, and if I login with Facebook to Skype, it does not change anything also. Could somebody help me with that problem.

It is in Library menu from HISTORY > SHOW ALL HISTORY(in win xp) :

I have a new MacBook Pro and I followed these instructions, downlonading and installing the new Flash plugin. But when I looked in "/Library/Internet Plugins" there was no folder called "Disabled Plugins".
However, I did see two versions of Flash:
_Flash Player.plugin with old date
Flash Player.plugin with todays date
I deleted _Flash Player.plugin and this fixed the problem.
