Missing integration with Learning Solution in Predefined Performance Apprai

Hi
We have recently transported Predefined Performance Management to our
production system. The integration scenario with SAP Learning solution
and SAP Compensation were checked while configuring Predefined
Performance Appraisal Templates.
The integration with Learning Solution is reflected in our DEV server;
when adding an action in the Competency and Development goal in an
employee document a "Mandatory Assignment" option pops up which brings
the course catalog defined in the Training and Event Module.
The same was transported to the QAS; but the "Mandatory Assignment"
option is not popped up while adding an action in the Competency and
Development goal.
Please advice on the corrective action on the missing option "Mandatory
Assignment" when adding action in Competency and Development Goals.

we also offer an option for those customers that run only SAP BUsinessObjects without any SAP applications - it is called remote support component. see here : http://service.sap.com/rsc
The support for Solution Manager started with SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP3 but all the items listed below is part of the 4.0 release

we are running Crystal Reports 2008 with SAP CRM 6.0.
To boost productivity or Report writeing we need especially access to:
- Function Modules
- the CRM Business Objects Repository (Transaction SW01).
What kind of SAP/CRM ( or SAP / ERP ) Objects can be accessed with the Integration for
SAP Solutions ?
The BO Documentation [BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions User's Guide|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP2/en/xi31_sp2_bip_sap_user_en.pdf] does not give a clue if this is possible.
However, Ingo Hilgefort stated in his book that it is at least possible to access ABAP Functions, SAP Querries and SAP InfoSets.
What is the minimum product portfolio and the necessary Version - Can I install the following products stand alone ?

Tomcat / Jaco
or
Must I need at minimum BO Edge and must install the CMS Server ?

please correct me if i am wrong, as i know sharepoint may not have the integration to MDM using OOB feature.

Solution Manager Integration with Tivoli and TSRM

SAP Business One is Netweaver application. Application like SRM, CRM which sits on ABAP as well as in Java stack also, are part of netweaver.
Access control is web based application which can integrates with applications which sits on ABAP & Java both.
As per your clients requirement you can deploy Access Control.

Integration with Lotus Notes 8.5 - Room Reservation System to Add Approval Steps

I have implemented several LiveCycle Forms with Some Workflow all
based on XML and .NET. All working fine.
Now, I have a new project (yet to be approved) which is to add
Workflow and Approval Steps for Lotus Notes Room Reservation System.
The current system on Lotus Notes, is out-of-the-box from Lotus, and
it is working very well, and it has great repeat option to setup the
required schedule to make the needed room reservation system.
The user now requested to add some new features like add 2 more
approval steps, and some new fields.
I can modify the application in Lotus Notes, but this will creat a new
problem. If there is new version coming for this system from Lotus
Notes, then I will have to sync the modifications I did, and it will
be a problem.

I have developed several programs in the past, I was able to connect
to Lotus Notes Database from .NET.
My plan is to develop the new Form in Adobe LC Desinger, with all the
new required features, and connect to what ever existing functions/
data to Lotus Notes (in both directions).
The only thing I need help for is how to capture the Repeating
Calendar Entry. I think this will take some effort. Becuase, once I
capture all input parameters, I have to call a Web Service (in .NET)
to get a list of Free Rooms to choose from.
Here are my questions:
1. Do you have any feedback on the above ?
2. Any one has done any work to capture a repeating calendar entry in
a PDF Form ?

A project specific iview maybe if you are using SAP Portal? I have not tried it myself, so I cannot elaborate on the topic.
But project specific documents (if they are being uploaded to MOSS and only web-linked in SolMan) should just be locked/read only and can be access controlled using MOSS security as well. So I wonder why the complication of providing it to everyone on a Portal link, when the webfront end for MOSS should provide you the link and the content can be controlled using MOSS security
Also apart from MOSS is it possibel to use TREX as an search engine.
This would be a possible disadvantage, but you are not missing out on much, because MOSS's context based search is actually better, and i ssay this from personal experience.

I am not aware of any customer who has integrated SABA Centra with SAP Learning Solution. However there are several implementations of SAP Learning Solution integrated with Adobe Connect. Studying the documentation of this integration and talking to the consultants who have done such implementation might give you an idea of the skills required and the time taken. A good amount of documentation is available from the [book on SAP Enterprise Learning|http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-Enterprise-Learning.html] You may want to talk to the product owner Srinivasa Raghavachar to get his thoughts and additional documentation.
If possible ask your customer if they are willing to consider using Adobe Connect, which is part of SAP Enterprise Learning.

Solution Manager Integration with Maximo

Hi All,
I believe all you know what is Maximo. Those who do not know, I would like to take an opportunity to brief them about the same.
Maximo is a ticketing tool from IBM. This tool is basically used to record and keep track of all change requests taking place in SAP landscape.
Having explained in brief above about Maximo, may somebody please tell me if this can be integrated with Solution Manager?
Has anybody done it before? If so, may you please share your experience with me?

Performance problem with Integration with COGNOS and Bex

I have a performance problem with some of my queries when integrating with the COGNOS
My query is simple which gets the data for the date interval : "
From Date: 20070101
To date:20070829
When executing the query in the Bex it takes 2mins but when it is executed in the COGNOS it takes almost 10mins and above..
Any where can we debug the report how the data is sending to the cognos. Like debugging the OLEDB ..
and how to increase the performance.. of the query in the Cognos ..

Please check the following CA Unicenter config files on the SunMC server:
- is the Event Adapter (ea-start) running ?, without these daemon no event forwarding is done the CA Unicenter nor discover from Ca unicenter is working.
How to debug:
- run ea-start in debug mode:
# /opt/SUNWsymon/SunMC-TNG/sbin/ea-start -d9
- check if the Event Adaptor is been setup,
# /var/opt/SUNWsymon/SunMC-TNG/cfg_sunmctotng
- check the CA log file
# /var/opt/SUNWsymon/SunMC-TNG/SunMCToTngAdaptorMain.log

BI Publisher Performance integrated with OBIEE 11g

Has anyone seen issues around the performance of rendering the BI Publisher frame when it is integrated with an OBIEE dashboard (11g)?
If I create a simple BI Publisher off a simple data model (Select 1 from dual). I open the BIP report within the BI Publisher environment (XmlpServer) and it opens in seconds.
When I open this same report within the OBIEE Web Catalog or place it on a dashboard page I have seen it take upwards of 40-50 seconds to render the frame then the report. The time seems to me more around rendering the frame.
Usually when you initiate your first session you see the longest rendering time, subsequent runs of the report are lower but still higher then the few seconds it takes in the BIP environment.
Has anyone else seen this issue, we opened a ticket with Oracle and it seems they are leaning toward creating a BUG around this. Just wanted to see what others were experiencing and if they identified the source of the issue. Thanks.

The FMW security model in BI Publisher means it is integrated into OBIEE - I believe it's the default. If you're using authenticating and authorising via weblogic then I can't think of a good reason to use BI Server authentication in publisher, you should be using FMW security.
In answer to your question tThere was no bug raised. The work around for us was using document 1338007.1. In your case that doesn't seem necessary since you're using OVD already.
Edit - should just add that if your OVD authentication is set up in the repository then you need to shift that to the weblogic server security model and remove any authentication logic from the repository. After that the FMW security model for publisher should work.

ECM integration with Performance Management

I am trying to integrate the Appraisals with ECM. The required configuration is done in SPRO. The problem which I face is that the number assigned to the appraisal template is different in the development box and in the quality box. I tried to configure external number range for appraisal template but the system still automatically asigns the internal number.
Has any one of you successfully done the ECM integration with Performance Manageemnt? How did you go about the different number issue?

Could not get the number range working. Transported the templates instead.
