Missing IP addresses from access.log

    Hi,
I have a network loadbalancer before 2 DPS instances (v6.3.1) and the network loadbalancer probes the 2 instances every 3 seconds.
In orther to avoid spamming of the access logs I would like to filter every connection from those ip addresses from writing in the access logs.
Is this possible without having to modify the log level, since I need the connection INFO for statistics and/or impact analysis operations.
    regards,

The WAP54G's repeater mode essentially sets up the 2nd access point as an extender of the main (root) access point. Since you will be extending the signal, you will need to configure the same wireless settings on both devices. SSIDs, channels, security settings need to be identical. Do set a STATIC IP address for your APs. If your network allows you to use the default IP (192.168.1.245) of the AP, you may set the 2nd unit to have an IP address like 192.168.1.246. The APs need to be in the same network.
An essential step in setting up the AP to repeater mode is indicating the main AP's wireless MAC address. This will register the main device to the second AP and will get them to communicate. To get this info, you need to:
    1. Login to the main AP's setup page.
    2. Go to Status.
    3. Click on the Wireless subtab.
    4. Retrieve the MAC address indicated.
Register this info unto the 2nd AP and Save Settings. You may need to reboot the devices to get the connection going. Once the devices are in sync, the client devices should be getting IP addresses assigned by the DHCP server (your DSL modem). To confirm that your setup is operational, you should be able to roam on the network in a location you would not have network access to without the AP on wireless repeater mode.

  • E-mail address from ACCESS database

    Hello!
I have created an enrollment form using DW + an Access db.
On this form the user registers his e-mail address and I
would like to know how I can generate a newsletter that will get
this address from the Access database and e-mail to all users
    registered there.
It is like a monthly newsletter.
One additional question, if I may.
The users have filled out a "yes" or "no" question for
receiving the Newsletter, so all of them have a "Yes" or "No" field
under the newsletter heading on the database.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    thanks guys!

How many users do you have on your database?

  • Analytics based on FMS access logs

    Hi,
We are building an analytics application for Flash Media Server located in a content distribution network. We obtain access logs from the FMS server and use the log entries to display metrics.
We would like to know if there is any way to determine the cache status from access logs.
Also, are there any scenarios where a stop event does not follow play event?
When we monitor the logs, the "x-file-name" field sometimes contains two extensions (filename.flv.flv). Is this the expected behavior?
We have also noticed that multiple log entries for a single seek action has been generated. Is this an error with our configuration or is this expected?
    Thanks in advance,
    Keerthana

    Keerthana,
Curious to know if you ever got a workable solution for getting analytics from your media server? Could you share your story?

Is it possible that Apache itself is doing some url rewriting? I would

When I am using the Weblogic Webserver on port 7001 the WebLogicSession isinvisible

When using the apache plugin on Port 80 I get the WebLogicSession in theurl (not

I have enabled cookies in my browser in both cases.
Is there any way to get the sessionid as a cookie again?

  • Getting Client IP address in Webcenter access log files

In addition to Understanding Webcenter Spaces Access Log File
I want to trace the IP address of the client machine from where webcenter spaces is being accessed.
    How to capture this?
    Please help.

You can access one of two server logs:
If you embedded an HTTP Server in front of WebLogic (which is what Oracle recommends), then you have access information in OHS (which is just like Apace).
If you are using a managed server (or even the admin server) in WebLogic, same thing, different name/place (the http access log).
same discussions are going on in other thread -
How to get the IP adress of the user who have accessed Webcenter Spaces ?

I had failed to mention in my previous comments that each time the attempted attacks took place, a blank Adobe PDF page appeared. As you suggested, I disabled the Adobe add-on and have had no further attacks. I am extremely dilligent in keeping my SuperAntiSpyware Pro, AvastAntiVirus 5.0, ThreatFire, Vista Firewall Control, Malewarebytes and Windows Defender up to date. However, after any attack I always run these in safe mode just as a precaution. I had suspected the Adobe drop-in may have been the culprit because of the page that appeared and your suggested fix has in fact fixed it!
Thank you again for your unselfish time in coming to my rescue. "Deaf Dave"

    Hello Deaf Dave.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
Also, it's possible that your system is infected with malware. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs ''in this order''. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that ''not all programs detect the same malware''!

  • Script to pull all connections from one IP out of DPS access logs...

I need an efficient script to pull all of the connections for 2 IP's (or match the first two octets of the IP will cover both addresses also) from multiple DPS access logs out and write them to a file.
The current one-liner I've been using doesn't work well with multiple access log files. So I tried combining multiple logs into one access log, and then trying to parse that large log file (around . The problem is, I am now getting the error: "bash: /usr/bin/egrep: Arg list too long", which is because it takes all of the connection numbers and builds a grep with them.
Here is the one-liner I've been using:
    FILTER='client=192.168.1.1|client=192.168.2.1'; FILE='access.*'; for j in $FILE; do unset CONN; for i in `egrep -h "$FILTER" $j | awk '{print $8}'`; do CONN="$CONN|$i"; done; if [ -n "${CONN+x}" ]; then egrep -h $CONN $j; fi; done | sort -t '/' -k2,2M -k1n
Is there a faster and more efficient way to pull out all of the connections from one or more IP's in access logs? I would think someone out there would have written something to do this?
    Thanks everyone!!!

It could be as simple as
    lgrep -O conn <IP> access
If you have more logs you can cat them and pipe the output to lgrep in a pipeline, like:
    cat access.1 access.2 ... access.n | lgrep -O conn <IP>
Just make sure that the logs are listed in sequence. The script won't produce reliable results if the log is non-sequential.

  • Accessing a user email address from the database

    Hi,
I really need help with the following.
I am adding functionality where users can set reminders that will then be sent to them by email when the reminder is due. I am going to utilise dbms_job to do this. My problem is that I am using apex authentication and users for the rest of the application and I need to retrieve the email address from apex. I cannot use wwv_flow_users as the email will be sent from a job in the database therefore there will be no current logged in user / workspace / session.
There must be some way of accessing an internal apex table / view or something that can tell me what the email addresses of my users are without being signed into an apex session.
Please help, this is quite urgent.
    Thank you in advance.
    Lee

    Hi,
Glad to see that you've found.
However would be very interesting to know how to retrieve user list without being in an Apex workspace.
    i would do as follows:
When the first user of the day log into apex you could update a static table containig the email (taken select into from www_flow_user once a day).
Then via a trigger you could start your batch proc, that needs updated email.
Is not clean at all, but probably if your firm isn't too big this approach could work.
By the way if you find how to retrieve the email not using www_flow_user, would be very nice to know.

How does one remove temporary files from Safari?  A friend logged on to her Facebook account using my iMac running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and Safari 6.1.6.  Now I can't remove her e-mail address from my computer.  When I open Facebook her address shows in the user button.  I do not have a Facebook account.  It was suggested to me that I try clearing temporary files from Safari but I can't find anything that tells me how to do this.  Are temporary files the same as the cache?  It also was suggested that I try clearing Safari cache.  How do I do that?

Check Safari/Preferences/Passwords to see if the Facebook account is there. If so, select it and remove it. If you are still having problems, Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. If that doesn't work, Safari/Reset Safari.

  • My old iphone was stolen. Can I wipe it remotely if I know the IP address from which someone is trying access my accounts?

I was in Europe last week and was pick pocketed and my iphone 3GS.  Now someone is trying to access my gmail account from Romania.  I was notified by google and given an IP address from where the attempt is coming from.  I have since upgraded my phone, and was only using it as an ipod.  For that reason, I didn't have any security settings (no password).  But, there's quite a bit of personal things on there (text, tons of pictures, etc)  Is there any possible way it could be wiped remotely since I know the IP address where it is located?  I also remember setting up a locate my iphone thing some years back, but have never needed to use it (so it seems some of the information needed may not be up to date).  Seems like I'm SOL if I don't have icloud or whatever.

Here is a link that explain you the steps http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2701

Thanks, I appreciate the help.  I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

  • Can no longer access log files from EM(ECM11.1.1.6.0).

Full UI popup error is " Stream closed ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #4"
Of course, I can't see any further errors in the logs,so I'm really at a disadvantage. am currently asking client if he sees anything in the Console for errors.
This was working just fine, no issues accessing logs from EM. No configiration changes were made, there's almost 8gb RAM available on this box(SOA on different BOX). ECM set up is Admin, IPM, UCM on this box.
Is there special memory settings for logs?

log from Admin Console is this:
