I know it's not the same but there are some level of alternatives in the app store, and even web based apps like http://ipadstopwatch.com which provides a free online stopwatch and timer.

iCloud space is for backup only.
You need more local storage; free up space on iPad:
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not needed to free up space on iPad.

VMs management in iPad app missing ?

I successfully installed vCMA appliance and vSphere client app into my iPad2.
Everuthyng is working fine, but I see that in the iPad app is not possible to manage
the virtual machines (start, stop, pause, stand by, manage snapshots, etc.), while
instead this is described in the vcma user's guide. I can only see info and performance.
Maybe I'm missing some steps to enable this also from iPad ? Does anybody
know how to addd this ?

What vsphere client app?
To use this product you goto the web url and login to your vcenter with it. After you set it up on the console see what IP you gave it and try to get to it from your iPad assuming its on the same network. http:///vim
You should try to goto this url from your pc first and see if it’s a issue with the iPad.
You can also look at my post here. http://communities.vmware.com/message/1368655#1368655 about security access for the vcma. The vCMA has no way to connect securely from outside your firewall at this time and I posted a way to publish it securely using cisco ASA.

I kind of ran into the same issue when I checked my purchased apps on my iPad in the iTunes store. A bunch were not there. I then looked at iTunes on my computer and again, a bunch were missing. I realized I had not synched in quite a while. Once I synched everything was ok. As the poster above said, iTunes knows you have already purchased them so you can redownload for free. However, be aware that when you do red own load you will be asked to pay again, just say ok and the next popup will say that you have already purchased the app.
Lesson I learned - synch more often. Boy, I can't wait for IOS5......

How do I turn off the Genius for iPad App Store. Its recomendations are very poor.

I don't believe there's a way to "turn it off", per se. Can you not just not tap the Genius button? Unless I'm missing something, that's the only way you see Genius recommendations in the iPad's App Store app.
BTW, questions about the iPad will generally get the quickest and most applicable responses if posted in the iPad forums.

Missing iPad

Missing: iPad (first generation3G and WifI 64G), March 16 2011 on flight 1560 from Dallas to Newark,black case. My iPad was in airplane mode when I closed it and put it in my back pack upon arriving to Newark. Somewhere between disembarking plane and getting on tram, it disappeared from my backpack. I tried the Find function but since I didn't have a chance to take it out of airplane mode....no good. I finally cancelled data service today because I was hoping it would be returned. Lost and Founds and airline at both airports have my info but nothing. I am putting this out there just in case someone found it and thinks to look here.Reward if found.
BTW: since it is in airplane mode and password protected, no one can get in, right?

Leaving it in airplane mode really makes no more difference than, say, leaving it OFF before it goes missing. The Fine Me app doesn't work unless and until the u it pops up on the net somewhere, always assuming that the feature had been turned on in Settings.
How secure it is will, of course, depend mostly on what you mean by "password protected", on how strong the password is, how good the new owner is at getting around that sort of thing, and etc. My own expectation would have been that at some point that goombah's going to figure out how to get out of Airplane and to start trying to use the iPad online and, and at point, the app can go to work.

Can't download purchased iPad apps

I have searched these boards, Google, other boards, and have tried all of their suggestions but have had no resolution. I have 11 iPad apps that cannot download in iTunes. Everytime I open iTunes, they all try to download and fail instantly and I'm met with the error in the picture:
I've shutdown my virus protection software, accelerators, etc... I've tried the Parental Control trick, renaming the roaming folder to old and copying the preferences, command prompts, and I've been having this issue before and after updating iTunes. It's just these though, I have been able to download new purchases since this and did two today with no problem!
If there's any other method that I've missed that can be provided, it would be greatly appreciated!

My name is Michelle. I have a basic question. My ipad recently came up missing on January 22, 2013. Its been a major issue because i am so attached to it. I carry it around in my purse and put it to great use. I was wondering if there was a way to track its location with GPS, or possibly see its where-abouts via the internet. I know there has been one purchase made on my account that wasn't me on January 28, 2013 for $1.00. I never setup the find my ipad app or went through the setup process however i was thinking maybe there was a way to track it by its serial number? Ive seen the police do it. If theres any information you could help me with concerning this isssue i would greatly appreciate it.

Unless you activated Find My iPad/Phone, there's no way.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

IPad app screen dimensions

This is my first shot at creating an iPad app with FlashBuilder. Only one puzzling thing so far, and I can't see anything about it:
My iPad app in landscape is 748 high, not 768 - hence, it has white bands top and bottom. I'm using the Flex 4.5.1 SDK. Portrait is 1004 high, same bands. My run configurations do in fact say that the "Usable" landscape is 1024x748 - there is only one config for iPad and it's not editable. Obviously, though, the device itself doesn't agree and seems to be looking for 1024x768. Why is this?
Do I have to update my run configurations to include an iPad2 profile, or switch to SDK 4.6?
Note: My main file does begin with the [SWF(width="1024", height="768"] statement, and is set to FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE.

I guess it wasn't such a simple question -- no answer after 3 days. Happily I found the solution. So for the sake of concluding this: I upgraded the ActonScript Compiler to SDK 4.6. Now fills the iPad screen.
A further note: anyone who encounters this same issue and upgrades to SDK 4.6 may find that upon publishing, there is a warning that some AIR SDK libraries are required. The warnng contains a link to a page with very clear instructions about how to download the missing iOS configuration libraries and manually install them (without completely reinstalling FlashBuilder).

no they are already in mp3 format I just tried that home sharing today because I couldnt find any other reason why they werent syncing. here is an example of a sync I just tried. I made an mp4 concert into an mp3 it came out perfect on my computer.. then I tried to sync it to my ipad with no luck, other than it going on my computer, it did not show up anywhere on my ipad in any area of the music sections etc playlists, songs, albums etc. Its just not there but remains on my computer. thats why I tried the home share today to see if that would help. Either I am really missing something or there is something wrong with this ipad. Did you ever have any trouble like this, does anyone? and what is something good to try? thank you again for answering! I appreciate it.

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Your favorite iPad app

If you had to recommend only one iPad app to a friend, family member of colleague at work, which one would it be and why?
My favorite app, so far, is Nasdaq OMX's Qfolio HD app. (There's one for the iPhone, but it is poor and very basic and not worth the time to download.) If you like tracking stocks and following the market, this Qfolio HD is informative and fun to watch. You can set up a portfolio and watch lists and see the stocks updated and trades being made.
Upsides are:
+ Screens well laid out (beautiful screens)
+ Easy to add and remove items from the portfolio and watch list
+ Lots of good information on each screen
+ Fast real-time updating on a good connection
+ Free
Some downsides to the app are:
* You cannot add funds to the portfolio or watch list
* Missing the DJIA and S&P ticker information.
* Limited to one portfolio and one watch list
* You cannot re-sort items in the portfolio or watch list (at least I can't find a way to do it). A real pain if you want to keep one stock (or group of stocks) at the top of the list as you add and delete stocks.
CNBC has a good app for the iPhone (CNBC RT) complete with alerts, but they have not ported it so it can take advantage of the iPad.
I was wondering what other favorite apps are out there for the iPad.

Fonts on desktop app but not on ipad app

There is a font called Chalkboard SE on the iPhone/iPad Keynote app but in the Work Desktop app the font is only called Chalkboard not with the SE on the end.
Once I transfer my presentation to the iPhone it say the font is missing (the Chalkboard one I used on my desktop) and it replacces it with Chalkduster although the iPad app have Chalkboard SE - that is the same as just Chalkboard.
I can't go and change all the fonts to SE on the iPhone (to small of a work space) I will change the fonts to SE if I can just get it on the Keynote desktop app.
I have looked ALL over for the font but NO luck
Please advice or help anyone.

I'm want to create an app from my folio.
I downloaded the Guide to publishing iPad Apps (may 5, 2013 v26)
On page 14 I'm missing the next step (5), what kind of Type I have to select:
And on page 16 after step 14, what kind of security I have to choose.
Can anybody help me with this steps?

For the first one, it looks like you're creating a development certificate, so you have the right option selected. For the second one, you turned on a setting in the previous panel that exposes these options. Just use the defaults--2048 and RSA.
