Missing iTunes Songs after using iCloud

Since using iTunes Match I have 500+ songs that won't upload to iCloud and won't play on my laptop -- error messages for both attempts. These songs do play on my iPod. They do not appear on my iPad or iPhone. Using  Windows 8. Songs were uploaded, not purchased.

I found the very useful hint from Taleswapper that, when there are NO photos in the CAMERA ROLL on the iPhone, iphone doesn´t NOT appear in Windows Explorer.
Furthermore,
I checked the solutions described in the same link
https://discussions.apple.com/message/17480607#17480607
I already re-installed itunes, but problem remains, and
I have Windows Home Premium SP 1 and neither Windows 7 N nor KN. So, the following link is not applicable

Is there anyone who can help to solve the problem that iphone is not shown in Windows Explorer when there are no photos in camera roll?

  • I have mulitple copies appearing on my ipad after using icloud and itunes match, how do I get only 1 copy to appear?

I am new to the Ipad, I just got the Ipad with retina display in and only have a 16gb memory. I wanted to use Icloud for my music and other items, but when I started using Icloud and Itunes match, my Ipad has up to 3 of the same song listed on the song list. and will repeat when I am listening to my music. I was wondering how I can get those multiple copies go away to just 1.

  • How do I get iTunes songs off the iCloud back onto my computer, preferably without changing the purchase date to today's date?

Trying to download previously purchased iTunes songs that are firmly embedded in the iCloud. At one point these songs were all on my computer. Then I idiotically joined iCloud. All the songs were sucked off and into iCloud. iCloud couldn't provide more than twenty seconds of any song without freezing whatever device, Macbook Pro, iPhone 4s, ipods, or breaking up the playback into fits and starts and finally silence, ever, no matter if the connection was cable or wireless.
I have ever update on every device, I have the max. RAM, excess disk/flash space. The problem is the difficulty of downloading. Oddly the download to my ancient PC went almost without a hitch, it is with Apple devices that the trouble lies.
About 2/3 of the songs have successfully downloaded to my computer. However the purchase date, which I used frequently as a search/sort function, have on many of the songs been switched to today's date, or the date of the latest download instead of my original purchase date.
Many songs downloaded, many remain in the cloud with the 'cloud' icon beside them.
Clicking on the "download all" icon doesn't download them all.
They begin to download and then stop/freeze.
I'm reduced to manually scrolling to each song and clicking on the 'cloud' to download, this works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. The whole thing usually crashes after a while.
This is where I am now, at the iTunes store on the "Purchased" page with all my songs in a list with "downloaded" or a "cloud icon" in the far right column, frozen once again.
I really would like to maintain the original purchased date(the day when I purchased the song from iTunes) but I'm to the point where I'd just be happy to get them downloaded onto the Macbook Pro, and hopefully never deal with the cloud again for the rest of my life.
Lastly, if anyone can recommend an alternative music site to iTunes it would be welcome.
    Thank you.

I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places.  I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file.  There must be something else that's missing.  My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive.  If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess.  I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={  Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period.  I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive.  Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me).  As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"

  • Can't buy songs after using Coke bottle voucher!!

A few weeks ago I used some of those freesong vouchers from the coke bottles to get some songs from iTunes. After I used the last one and bought a song, it still said "1 Song" at the top right next to my itunes id, in the iTunes shop. So I thought maybe I had not looked, and actually had one more. Yesterday I tried buying a song, but all it said was that my song credit had expired, and that I had to click ok to refresh and try again. I tried again a few more times, but realised it was not doing anything. I want to be able to buy songs again. Please someone help!

Thank you for your reply. Seems I forgot the obvious attempt at solving the problem, which was to log out and back into the store. It occured to me when I clicked on your link. On that page there were several links to "View my account information". All I had to do was click one and sign in. It works now.

  • My Dell laptop hard drive crashed after using iCloud photo sharing

Has anyone had PC problems after beginning to use iCloud? I seem to have problems with shared photos on iPhone & PC and with contacts for automobile Bluetooth.

I solved my own question. So for anyone else who has this problem, here's what to do.
    1. Plug in your iPhone. Sync it with the computer.
    2. Click on your phone in the sidebar and click on your phone's music tab on the top right.
    3. Select that you'd like to sync music from this library.
    4. Select what you want to sync. Yes, it will delete the current music off of the phone but if you've imported that into your new library, then you'll just put it right back on. Your phone currently thinks it's supposed to sync with the hard drive that doesn't exist, so that's the problem.
    5. Press apply, then press sync (lower right).
    6. It should sync everything....I hope....That's what it looks like it's doing.
    7. Never accidentally unplug your phone during an update again.
    8. Hope to whatever god you pray to that your hard drive doesn't crash again.
    9. Enjoy your day

  • Pse help with syncing and nonpurchased music from itunes to iphone using icloud

Pse excuse myself for being such a noob. I am trying to sync music from which i have ripped from cd's to itunes using icloud. When i go into the purchased section there is no music to sync obviously as i havent purchased any music only ripped cd's. I beleive that this is where the music has to go to in terms of syncing to iphone. Is this correct or am i way off pse help guys.

it says that I gotta reset my iPhone to Factory Settings. Which means I will lose all my apps, contacts and stuff.
Why would you lose anything? Your contacts will be in whatever desktop program you have chosen to sync your contacts with, your Apps should be in your iTunes Library, and everything else should be on your computer too (assuming you've been syncing/backing up as designed).
Are you trying to sync music from a different computer than you normally use?

  • How do I switch from syncing with iTunes to syncing using iCloud without getting duplicate Ono

      Hi
I have been syncing my IPad  to my mac using iTunes. I would like to start using the cloud to sync my
Contacts, calendar and a small amount of documents. I'm not so concerned with my pictures, video's or
music. they not as time sensitive and can stay with iTunes.
Do I need to do anything besides disabling those sync functions in iTunes and enable themin iCloud?
I don't want to get a duplicate contact list or calendar. Which are the two main things I need to keep more
    Current.
Would I be better off staying with iTunes?  I'm on the same wifi network most of the time.  My
reasoning behind changing sync methods is the fact that iTunes only syncs when I charge my IPad
and I need  A more current sync than once every day or so. (Especially for my calendar.)
I'm sure the info is buried out here somewhere but I have vision problems which make combing
through the vast amount of info out here a little difficult for me.
Any thoughts, advise or input would be appreciated.
       Ron

No help? I can't be the only one that backs up to iCloud and buys right from the iPad that then wants to sych with their desktop.
    BTW, it's not jailbroken.

  • What happens when i connect to itunes when ive used icloud since i first got my device?

Ive always used icloud but now i have ran out of storage i want to back up my devices using itunes, what will happen when i connect my device to itunes for ythe first time? I am using Windows 8.1 and have 3 apple devices (Ipod touch 5, ipad 2, an a ipad mini original)
    Thanks in advance!

Yes - if you try to sync, then it will tell you that it is a new device and everything will be erased. When you sync, you are syncing with the data in the actual iTunes Library. You select which Apps, Music, Movies, TV, Photos, Books, etc. that you want to sync to your device in the Device Profile tabs that will display in iTunes when you hook up your device. Whatever you have selected will sync to your device.
If you have your Contacts, Notes, Calendars, etc. already checked to sync with iCloud (not backup, but the items that are tuned on under Settings>iCloud on both your device and your computer), then those will not get replaced.
If everything on your device is purchased from the iTunes Store, you can download it all to your computer by going to the appropriate tab in the iTunes Store, click on Purchased under the Quick Links section to the right, and then download anything that has a cloud next to it.

  • Is it possible to sort songs after using iTunes Match?

When I used iTunes to sync my songs previously, everything's fine because I can do all in iTunes then press sync.
But with the use of iTunes Match, everything seems automatically done through the "cloud".
I can't even rearrange the order of my songs, like sorted by artists or names of the songs.
It's pretty a mess when viewing my playlist, the songs are disordered.
Is it the fact that we can't sort songs?
    Thanks.

I didn't say "re-create" I said "restore from a backup." Restoring from a backup will place all the files just as they were right back where they need to be. This includes the .itl, .itdb ad .xml files iTunes needs to recognize that the files on the internal HDD are the same as the files in the cloud.
You do have a backup, don't you? If you don't then I strongly recommend you start backing up immediately.
If all else fails you can email iTunes Store support and ask them to reset your iTunes Match DB on the server. This will require your iTunes to go through the entire scan, match and upload process as if it were the first time.

  • Another case of "missing" iTunes songs, internal drive, iTunes 8 & 9

I have searched the forums for several hours, pouring over post after post on this subject, but have not seen an answer or workable solution to this exact problem.
I have been using iTunes since version 1, and have a little over 14,000 songs in my library, on my boot drive, mostly ones I have ripped from my own CDs. All of a sudden, maybe 3-4 months ago, starting in version 8, now version 9, on certain songs I am repeatedly getting the exclamation point & the message: "The song ____ could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?". I can manually point iTunes to the song, all of which reside on my boot drive in the iTunes Music folder, but often the songs seem to "disappear" from iTunes again later on. This is a tedious process, although usually there are multiple songs on the same album. Right now I have about 100 "missing" songs. I doubt I have moved or changed folder names for more than a few, if any of them.
Many, but not all of the affected songs have a period in the song/group/album names, such as R.E.M., Mr. Tambourine Man, or Charlatans U.K. while others may have a colon (:), a dash , a number (1), or ampersand (&). All these songs were able to be found under earlier versions of iTunes, but something changed in later versions of 8 & now 9, or elsewhere.
Is there a way to permanently fix this issue, without having to reimport all my songs? I have many, many years worth of iTunes playlists, albums, playlist for my iPod, etc. so any "solution" that means I loose all this work is a non-starter.
    Thanks!

Another point - after the mass Import, the song names displayed in iTunes are the same as the contents of my new library location excepting there are duplicates and the the tracks are "unlocateable" for playing.

  • *Problems uninstalling itunes/quicktime after using windows install cleanup

I was having problems installing itunes/quicktime 7.6. Everytime I tried to install it it would say that it does not have a valid digital signiture. So one of the suggestions I saw on this forum was to install windows install cleanup and use it on itunes and quicktime. So I did but all it did is mess up my old itunes/quicktime. Now when I go to try and uninstall itunes and quicktime from the add and remove programs in the control pannel it does not even show itunes or quicktime in my program list. Any suggestions??

Ok, Update. I was able to remove itunes and quicktime manually after going into my windows task manager and to the processes tab and ended all processes involving itunes, apple, or quicktime. So now when I install itunes/quicktimes via apples site when it gets to the end it just disapears and nothing happens. I searched to see if it installed anything and it didn't, didn't even give me any reasons why. Can anyone help me with this?? It would help me a ton!

  • I can i tell that my itunes match worked and itunes songs are in iCloud

Itunes is on a Windows PC running Windows 7

I think they were trying to ask, do do they tell if their songs are in the cloud in windows 7.
Easiest way is to enable iTunes Match on you're iPod, iPhone or iPad in the settings then turn show all music to on in the music settings also and it will show you all songs in the cloud.
Or no the PC/iTunes in the music section, right click on the column titles up the top ie where it says song name, artist etc and enable the cloud or cloud status field and it will tell you if a song has been matched or uploaded to iCloud.
Ones that say matched or uploaded are in iCloud, ones that say waiting or nothing or something else aren't in the cloud.
Right click on a song that says matched or uploaded and pick delete. If is in the cloud a extra tick box shows up that says something like 'also delete from iCloud'. If it has that option when you attempt to delete a song from iTunes then it means the song is on your PC and also iCloud.
If you pick to delete the song but don't tick delete from cloud it will delete from the PC and leave it in iCloud.
If you also tick the box it's deleted everywhere.

  • Losing I-tune purchased songs AFTER  using "system restore"

I beg someone to help me. I will get to the point asap, but please be patient with my ramblings since the problem eventually gets to I-tunes.
1-I constantly get this message when launchig yahoo messenger or watching DVD on computer or wanting to listen to my I-tunes purchased/downloaded songs" "The computer's audio output is already in use by another application". Sometimes, I get a message which states that my audio configutation is not correct. This just happened recently. ANYWAY.
2-I decided to do system restore....and restored my system to an earlier version. THIS WAS great.....my audio configuration went back to normal. NOW, THE MAIN POINT:
3-After doing a system restore...I totally lose my I-tunes registration. Even though I restored back to an earlier time...I should still BE able to log back into my i-tunes and store and EXPECT to find my songs. But..boom the songs are gone..it is as if I-tunes never recognized me as a user/purchaser. AND yes, I restored my computer to an earlier time BEFORE I purchased songs from I-tunes. But I do not see how this can be an issue..since....I have alread purchased the songs..and I-tunes or Apple.com has me in their system.
So, my need is: getting my songs back, even though I did a system restore to an earlier date. Yes, I can use system restore again and go back to my recent restore point when I had I-tunes and I can find my songs..but....then...MY AUDIO configuration problem exits, again.
    sorry for rambling.
Any help...would be be more than appreciated.
    thank you
