Missing iView?

Dear experts,
recently I have installed SAP GUI 7.1 and the addition Front End for it. When I try to execute a Query in the Query Designer I get the foll. error message:
"Portal runtime error.
Fehler aufgetreten bei der Verarbeitung eines Request für :
iView : pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/Roles/com.sap.ip.bi.bi_showcase/com.sap.ip.bi.allbi/com.sap.ib.bi.businessexplorer/com.sap.ip.bi.bex_broadcaster

Exception id: 08:46_11/05/07_0007_2541950

When I logon myself into the portal then by clicking on almost every menu item I get the message that iView is not installed.
How can it be installed or how can my problem be solved in other way?
Thank you!

Joe,
The better way to do this task is run the BI template in the Portal. To be eligible to this, you most to have installed the Portal+BI. This is the better way because there are so many steps to do. I can describe all steps to do here, but you will have a hard work at your hands.
Go through this URL:
http://<portal server>:<port number>/nwa
Log in as Administrator and go to "Deploy and Change" and choose the scenario BI-Java and click "execute template"
There are 18 steps to complete the post installation configuration. Execute all!
If you have some mistake, let me know!

Luciano

  • Query Designer, Execute fails with missing iView (Portal Runtime Error)

    Hi,
I have followed all steps to integrate Sap NetWeaver 2004s BI into EP. Checks done so far indicate that all is well between the EP and BI.  From within the EP, I can execute the Bex Web Analyser iView and from there I can execute a query on the BI backend.  From the BI backend, executing the function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST returns the 'BI test service' success message.  SSO is working fine as no user/passwords were prompted for. From the trace file, I can see no errors appear but I do see authentication success messages.  So far, so good
But, when I execute a query from within the Query Designer, it calls the browser and then errors with the following error:
    <b><i>Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    iView not found: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex.
    Exception id: 10:06_03/03/06_0012_26285450
See the details for the exception ID in the log file</i></b>
Looking at the trace file, all it tells me is the same, that this iView is not found.
If I logon to the portal and have a look at the iViews within the 'platform-add-ons/bi' folder, I can see the following 4 iViews:
    BEx Broadcaster (com.sap.ip.bi.bexbroadcaster)
    BEx Portfolio (com.sap.ip.bi.bexportfolio)
    BEx Web Analyser (com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer)
    My Portfolio (com.sap.ip.bi.myportfolio)
I cannot find the missing iView (com.sap.ip.bi.bex).
    Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ashish,
Thanks for the suggestions.  Here is what happened:
    1. I have run the deploy and change template again (BIPostInstall).  Step 10 failed but I am not too concerned as it does appear that SSO is working both directions.  Also, step 13 failed which is the 'Configure Repository Manager'.  The error I got here was USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "" not found.  I am not sure where it is getting the blank userid from.
    2. The 'com.sap.ip.bi.business_explorer_showcase' role suggestion looked very promising.   I found some doco on it and it does mention this role and when assigned, then you see the Business Explorer tab.  I assigned it to all users and to all groups.  When I went back into the portal, sure enough, the Business Explorer tab was visible.  From within there, I could run query which all worked fine.
BUT, when executing a query from within the BEx Query Designer, I still got the same error:
    <i><b>Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    iView not found: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex.
    Exception id: 11:25_05/03/06_0003_26285450
See the details for the exception ID in the log file</b></i>
Do you know if this is an actual iView that should exist in the portal content ?  If you have this working, can you see this iView in the portal?
    3. I had a look at this note (872043) but I could not get the sap download manager to work to get the zip files attached to the note download.  If you have it still, could you email it to me ([email protected]) and I will try that. Did you apply the zip file?
I can't find any further trace information on why this missing iView error is happening.  I've amended the severity level on the areas which a SAP note detailed but the only information I get is that a missing iView was called.
Function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST still works fine and I can execute a query from the Web BEx Analyser iView.
I just can't execute a query from the BEx query designer due to the missing iView.
I don't know whether it is a communication problem even though SSO both directions seem to work OR whether I do have some content missing from my portal.

  • Missing iView for Business Events in MSS 1.31

    Hi,
We made an upgrade from ERP 4.7 to ECC 6.0, and we can't find the iView "Business Events". Do you know if this service still valid in the version 1.31 of MSS?. In the previous version the tecnical name of the service was com.sap.pct.hcm.eeprofileeventdetails.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Carlos.

    Hi Carlos
I think this is now part of the SAP Learning Solution - at least delivered iviews in MSS require
Learning Solution infotypes to be populated
The equivalent in ERP2005 would be
    com.sap.pct.erp.mss.personneldev_trainingactivities

  • Missing iviews for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation

Hi,  We are implementing "Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation" in R/3 version 5(mySAP ERP). At present we have the following Business packs in our Enterprise Portal Server. 60.1.5 and 60.1.1(mySAP ERP 2004). We uploaded both the BP's in our test environment to make sure we get all the iveiws that we need.
SAP presentation has all the iviews, But we are unable to locate/identify under MSS the iviews for "Web Based Detail Planning for Line Managers",  "Detail Planning:  Detail Costs per Cost Object" and so forth for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation component.
We researched other BP's such as 50.4.5 and 50.3.9 but in vain.
We truly appreciate if some can guide us to get these iviews.

Finally I got the answer and thought I can share this with you all.....
For Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation, SAP has not delivered mss iViews, but SAP has realized the detail planning pages for the line manager and the personnel cost planner by using the Business Server Page (BSP) "hrhcp_planning".
You can find the description of it's usage in the online documentation under the following path:
Human Resources>Personnel Management>Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation-->Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation Flow -->Creating Personnel Cost Plans
--> Providing Detail Planning for Line Managers
--> Detail Planning by Line Managers
--> Detail Planning by the Personnel Cost Planner
If you wish to use the detail planning page in an mss environment, you can integrate the BSP as an external service into the manager's portal. Otherwise, you can also use it, by providing the URL to the managers.

  • Runtime error saying missing iview after deployment

    Hi all gurus!
A very irritating problem is annoying the hell out of me. The background: as an experiment I downloaded and took a copy for safety reasons of the com.portal.navigation.toolarea file. I then edited the jsp file in one of the copies and deployed the result into the portal and emediately got a runtime error. Not very clever to edit the SAP standard file but as I mentioned I took a copy for precaution and deployed that one back into the portal. But now for the problem: I still get the same runtime error!
The error message is as follows:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop/frameworkPages/frameworkpage/com.sap.portal.toolAreaiView
    Component Name : null
Page could not create the iView.
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
It seems like some connections have been broken. What do I have to do in order to restore everything? I have checked at the repository at the portal server itself and the folder with the original content is to be found there, that is the jsp-file is the unedited one.
Any ideas? I think it's just some standard procedure I have to do but I don't know what to be honest.
    Best regards
    Benny Lange

    Hi,
As you have the original backed up par file do the following:
    1. Goto Administration Console and undeploy the project
    System Administration-> Support-> Portal Runtime-> Administration Console
    2. Do the offline undeploy as suggested below.
    3. Copy the backed up par file into folder ..\usr\sap\<SID>\<JC-->\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
    4. Restart your server
    5. After restart, check in folder ..\usr\sap\<SID>\<JC-->\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
You should see that your par file is renamed to par.bak
    Offline undeployment:
Here is the way you can undeploy your par file manually:
    Remove your par.bak files from:
    ..\usr\sap\<SID>\<JC-->\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
    and
    ..\usr\sap\<SID>\<JC-->\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\temp
Mostly the par.bak will be present either in pcd or temp folders but not in both.
    ex: C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd

  • How to get ratings from iView Media Pro?

    Hi...
I'm wanting to move from iView Media Pro to iPhoto because:
    1) iPhoto's better and nicer editing features
    2) IPhoto is significantly faster on my quad with my raw files
    3) Better integration with other iLife apps
I'll very much miss iView's nicer organization and other features. I'm hoping I won't miss them so bad. I might though. For a year I've been manually using Photoshop elements to edit and importing into iPhoto whenever I wanted to use the other iLife apps. I'm tired of doing that. Also, iPhoto is so much faster now (it didn't used to be.)
But I have two problems I'm working through...
    (1) I loose all my precious iView ratings when importing to iPhoto. I tried "Synch Annotations" in iView, but iPhoto still didn't read the ratings. Worse...
    (2) iPhoto's image date is the last modified date of the file! And after using "Sych Annotations" all my modified dates are now today! I found and installed PhotoToolCM. This lets me change the file's creation and modified date to the capture date (alas, I have to go through each folder of files manually and "Select All" to do this. I'm willing to do this.)
    Any solution to (1)?
    Thanks,
    Erik
    Quad   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Try the steps below:
Sync music files using Windows Media Player.
With a memory card inserted, and your phone showing the home screen, connect a  USB data cable to your phone and your computer. Your phone should show in the status bar.
Note: Your phone supports Microsoft® Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, and Apple® Macintosh®. Other operating systems may not be compatible.
Drag down the notification bar. Tap USB connected to select the connection. Tap Mount to connect your memory card to your computer. You can't use the files on your memory card while it is connected. On your computer, open Windows Media Player. On the "Sync" tab, select "More Options". Under "Device", select your phone Select "Properties", check the "Create folder hierarchy on device" box, and click "OK".
Drag your music files over to the "Sync List" and press "Start Sync".

  • BW and EP Integration using SNEAK ABAP & JAVA

    Hi,
    I have NetWeaver 2004s - ABAP (SP6) installed along with NetWeaver 2004 - JAVA (SP15).
Is it possible to execute a BI query in the web browser using these sneak versions.
I get an error that an iView is missing - com.sap.ip.bi.bex
I have read a few postings about this error and the conclusion I have come to is that I need NetWeaver 2004s (JAVA) for this to work as this iView is available in SP6 of NetWeaver 2004s (JAVA).
    Is that right ?
If so, do I have to wait for a sneak version of NetWeaver 2004s (JAVA) or is it possible to patch/upgrade sneak 2004 NetWeaver (JAVA) to include this missing iView ?
    Thanks.

<i>Is it possible to execute a BI query in the web browser using these sneak versions</i>
yes possible, but not using new features of 2004s ABAP .
    (new report desinger, etc)
NW2004s JAVA is available for download.

  • Reg. UWL Configuration

    Hi Friends,
I am trying to configure UWL in Portal 7.0. I am following a document which says that i have to register the systems in System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist Administration. But I dont see any such link under System Configuration instead, there is Universal Worklist & Workflow folder under which i have the link 'workflow'. And i dont have a UWL Administration link under this as mentioned in the document.
    What could be wrong?
    Regards,
    Nathan.

    Hi Nathan
Hmm, looks like you're missing something . There should be two options under System admin -> System Config -> Universal Worklist & Workflow - one called "Universal Worklist - Administration", the other called "Workflow".
Please check you have all the system admin roles assigned to your user and that there are no .err files under your \usr\sap\SID...
The Details link for the missing iView shows pcd:portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role/com.sap.portal.system_administration/com.sap.portal.system_admin_ws/com.sap.portal.system_configuration/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.UWLWorkflow/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.uwl_administration_page/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.uwl_webflow_type_admin in case you want to check the PCD...

  • OBN not working for POWL's

    Hi All,
We have recently installed the buyer business pack and the POWL lists are working but none of the Object based Navigation links are.
    For example:
In the Purchasing POWL if you select a purchase requisition nothing happens in the portal.  I have set up debugging in the backend and I can see that the feeder class is being hit and data is being retreived but it doesn't seem to have an effect.
    Feeder class: CL_MMPUR_UI_FEEDER_PR
    Method:  IF_POWL_FEEDER~HANDLE_ACTION
E_PORTAL_ACTIONS is populated with the following data.
    PORTAL_PATH
    PORTAL_NAV_MODE
    BO_SYSTEM                                             SAP_ERP_Procurement
    BO_NAME                                             purchaserequisition
    BO_OP_NAME                                             dsppurreq
    BO_RESOLVE_MODE
    CS_EVENT_NAMESPACE
    CS_EVENT
    PARAMETERS                                             Standard Table[3x2(16)]
    LAUNCHER_PARAMETERS                                             Standard Table[0x2(16)]
    FIRE_WDEVENT
    ADD_WDEVENT_DATA
    PORTAL_WIN_FEATURES
    PORTAL_TARGET_TITLE
A target iView is in the portal with dsppurreq obn (this is in the same role and on the same page as POWL that is trying to call it so it shouldn't be a roles issue.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Simon,
We were able to resolve our issue. We found that it was one of two issues. Either a missing object or a missing iView. How to troubleshoot is below.
One, first determine if the iView that is being used to link to the Object is both present and also added to the Role under the "Navigation" area. If you look in the Navigation folder and see broken links, then you must reinstall the relevant BP which would be BP for Buyer or BP for SRM.
Secondly, once you found the iView and it is referenced on the Role correctly go to the iViews properties and check the parameter for OBN which will be "com.sap.portal.objectbasednavigation.ImplementedOperations".
There you should see the path linking to the object that is erroring out for example SAP_ERP_Procurement/purchaserequisition/dsppurreq
Once you see the OBN path you can track it back to the actual object through Business Objects folder path. In this case, it would be Business Objects -> ERP Common Parts -> Requisitioning -> Purchase Requisitioning -> Display
Note, that when you highlight Purchase Requisitioning in the quick info you will see SAP_ERP_Procurement.purchaserequisition which is the first part of the OBN path. When you click on "Display" in quick info you see the remainder of the link under  description "dsppurreq".
If you track back to this objects folder, and you are unable to find the object (this was our problem), then you must reinstall the latest Business Package which will contain the needed objects. For those objects with "SAP_ERP_Procurement" then you need to reinstall the BP for ERP Common Parts. If the OBN path begins with SAP_SRM then you must reinstall the BP for SRM.
I hope this helps... this was a frustrating issue for us.

    Alex,
I'd be curious to know what SAP says.  We have the same problem.  Not sure how/if we broke it, but we can no longer create iviews using the wizard.  I opened an OSS msg a while ago, but did not get much assistance.
We have recently upgraded to 2004s and it did not resolve the issue as I hoped it would.
If SAP provides a solution for you, please post it.

  • Missing MSS iViews in Federated Portal Network

Hello, portal gurus, we have a FPN related issue that hope some of you can help.
We have two portal systems that we set up as a Federated Portal
Network. One producer portal, verision is 7.0, SP11, and one
consumer portal, version is 7.0 SP13. We installed the ESS and MSS business
packages in the producer portal. Those business packages came with the SAP NetWeaver
2005 installation, and they are working ok on the producer portal.
In addition, we were able to do the remote role assignment in the
consumer portal successfully. The problem is that some of the MSS
links and iViews that are shown up ok in the producer portal are missing from the consumer portal.
Have anyone experienced the same issue? Is it because the dismatch of the SP level causing the issue? Are there any fixes to this issu?
Thanks a lot for any input!
    Jane

    Hi Jane,
PCD content and KM content are two different things and they have different transport mechanism.
If you want to transport PCD content to another portal go to System Administration/Transport/Transport Package/Export. In PCD tree in any place create transport package and add to it objects which you need (folders, roles, worksets, iviews and so on) and save transport package file localy on your computer or server. After that go to the system where you want to locate your content. Go to System Administration/Transport/Transport Package/Import If you save tranport file localy on your computer chose client and upload tranport file.
KM transport very clear describe here How to Export KM Contents by ICE protocol using Offline Channel Beside this way you can transport KM content use program Portal Drive (very useful program especially when you need quickly transport some KM files from one portal to another).

  • Personal Information iViews missing in Business Package for E.S.S.

    Hi all,
we have imported the business package for Employee Self-Service (ERP2005, Release 1.0 for nw2004s) in our portal. The iViews for the application 'Personal Information' (like 'Address', 'Bank Information',...) are language dependent and in the portal content all languages are visible -except Finland. According to the online documentation it should be there but it isn't.
Does anyone know why it is missing??
    Thanks in advance
    Karsten

    Ajendla,
The personal information Iview has Personal data, address, Familymemebers/dependents, and bank details serivces. So you have to configure the corresponding infotypes 0002, 0006, 0021, 0009 and their subtypes in the  IMG activity under "employee-selfservice. Sorry, I cannot give the exact path, coz I am not infront of the SAP system now.
Any way, hope this helps. If it does award points.
