Missing Library Albums

The "Library Albums" component (with star ratings etc.) does not appear on my Library Inspector tab. I downloaded A3 about 3 weeks ago, and it has never appeared. Am I missing something or misreading the documentation?

This might either be a problem of a corrupted Library or of your preference settings.
To help to locate the problem, you might try the following:
Try, if you see the "Library Albums" when you create a new, empty Aperture Library:
- In Apterture Choose File > Switch to Library > Other
- In the dialog that appears, click "Create New"
- In the next dialog, enter a new name for the Library in the "Save As" field, choose a location, then click Create
To open the new library, again go to  Choose File > Switch to Library
-If the new Library has the correct structure, then probably your old Aperture Library has been corrupted.
You could either try to fix it with the usual trouble shooting measures (repair or rebuild the library) or simply try to import your old library completely into the new library (only if it is a managed library - I am not sure, if you safely can import a referenced library without relocating the master).
-if the new Library does not have the correct structure, then it might be a Lion or Aperture problem, look for "delete user preferences" in the trouble shooting basics: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805

  • Missing Library Albums and Built in Smart Albums

    Hi,
In AP3 I am missing the built in "Library Albums" with the associated smart albums (★★★★★,Rejected etc). I did a search and someone solved the problem by deleting the BuiltinSmartAlbums.plist located at user/library/application support/aperture and then restarting Aperture.
My problem is I cannot locate the plist file. It's confusing, as I can create a new library and the Built in library and associated smart albums are available. However, I would like the option in my existing library.
Does anyone have an idea how I can recover the built in Album/smart albums?
    Thanks

Well, they aren't in the libraries that are "split" from another, so I guess that is how you wound up in this situation.
You can simply remake them, takes only a few minutes and put them in your own folder (but then you might have problems with sorting).
How about just importing your entire current lib into a clean new lib that has the albums?

  • Why did they change itunes. i do not like it. miss the album scroll

why did they change itunes. i do not like it. miss the album scroll and ablum cover in bootom corner.

I love the new version of Grid view but some of the other changes feel like they still need some fine tuning. And I miss cover flow even if I didn't use it that often...
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl+B to turn on the menu bar
Ctrl+S to turn on the sidebar (your device should be listed here as before)
Ctrl+/ to turn on the status bar
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
Should you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • The missing library problem.

I understand that there's already a lot of threads about the sudden disappearance of iTunes libraries, however I'm typing this up because I'd like to point out in a bit more detail what I'm seeing happening to my computer, and maybe have a collective of what's going on. This issue has happened to me five times in the last two months since I've updated to iTunes 11. After searching on google I know the missing library problem has existed since the early 2000s; why this glitch has yet to be fixed 13 years later is beyond me. I have personally never had this problem until updating to 11, and seeing the many other threads on here this appears to me to be an issue with this version of the software more than it has been in previous versions.
Before I continue, I have tried the following to fix it:
Simply readded my whole library. It was only wiped again a few weeks later.
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. That didn't work either, so it's not just an updating problem.
    What I haven't tried
Changing where on my computer iTunes is installed. I have no idea where on the computer might be better or if it will change anything. I have iTunes installed on its default location on my local C: disk.
Importing the music directly from my iPod into iTunes. Can this be done? If so, how? Not everything on my iTunes is a store purchase, most of it is imported CDs and also amazon purchases too. So I don't know if the transfer purchases option works. While this wouldn't fix this current issue, I would like to know how to do this if possible since it would just be a quick fix whenever this happens.
    What is happening:
So each time this has happened, what occurs is that like many other people, one day I open my iTunes and everything is in order. Then the next, for no reason, all of my libraries are gone but the music is still on my computer, organized in their files the way iTunes had them done so upon importing. I can't use the .itl files in the "previous libraries" folder because they have also been re-written. Upon opening them, even if their last save was on a day I know everything was in working order, opening them does nothing but give me the same blank default page.
What isn't mentioned in a lot of the posts regarding this issue, is the sudden crop of temporary files in the iTunes folder.
The ones that have cropped up for me personally are the following:
    iT 1.tmp
    iT 2.tmp
    iT 3.tmp
    iT 4.tmp
    Temp file 1.tmp
    Temp file 2. tmp
Those were not there the last time I used iTunes, and they're never there on the days I've used it before and it has worked correctly. However every time my library is wiped, these files suddenly appear without fail, every time. I can't open them, I can't do anything with them except delete them. I believe I remember reading somewhere that this might be an issue regarding with how the program is saving the progress of your library changing, and that the temp files are there until it can "officially" save what has happened to your library. While I didn't change anything in my library in the last couple of weeks, I'm assuming this also counts things like play count.
    My own personal opinion
Seeing just how many threads with this issue are popping up, this leads me to believe that this isn't just a problem with my personal computer or my personal install of iTunes 11. These temp files also lead me to believe that as well. In other words, whatever glitch has existed with iTunes since the early 2000s is for some reason running rampant in version 11.
    TL;DR:
Please developers, actually look at this library glitch within the program itself. It can't just be an individual user's problem because way too many people are experiencing it.

No worries. You've probably run into one the other threads I've posted to but I'll add my thoughts here anyway...
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied and renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

  • Library Albums Object

I've been using Aperture on and off since version 2 but today stumbled across something I haven't really noticed before.
In the Aperture 3 Library tab there is an area called LIBRARY & ALBUMS where you store your folder and projects etc. Under this there is a special folder called "Library Albums" with a disclosure triangle that contains some default Smart Albums.
What is the difference between creating a Smart Album in the "Library Albums" folder compared to creating it under the LIBRARY & ALBUMS folder at the top level ?
Is the special "Library Albums" just a way to keep the area tidy ?

No difference, its just a housekeeping thing.
I created a folder Local which I put in the *Library Albums* folder to hold smart albums I create that apply to the whole library such as Today for images imported today, B&W for images I've converted to black and white, *External Edited* for images I've edit with a plugin or external editor, etc.

  • Missing library imath/engines/lvmath

Hi all, so i am trying to run an older .vi (several of them actually) not sure which version they were created in. My guess would be 8.2 or 8.5. I am using 2010 and there seems to be a missing library imath/engines/lvmath
included in this is a bunch of MC_(somthing) type vi's
also having the same problem with some excel vi's
    thoughts?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That looks like the code was using MathScript. In current versions of LabVIEW MathScript is an add-on. That you have to buy. So, you can:
Rewrite the code to not use MathScript
    Buy MathScript
Use an alternative. Scilab might work for you.
P.S. When you try to close the VI LabVIEW will ask you if you want to save the file. If you click on the link that says "Describe changes" (or something like that), it will tell you the version of LabVIEW used to write the VI originally.

  • How do I burn photos from an iPhoto library album to a CD disk as jpegs?

How do I burn photos from an iPhoto library album to a CD disk as jpeg files? I'm wanting to burn the iPhoto library exactly as it appears in the "album", so they appear as jpegs, so you can't tell that the files have been edited in iPhoto. (I have edited some of the photos in iPhoto.)
I tried this using the "share/burn" menu option, however, it included the original files, which defeats the purpose of editing them.
    Any suggestions?

Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pics to a folder on the desktop. Burn that to CD with the Finder.

  • How do I delete photos in the 'photo library' album?

I synced photos from my computer onto my iphone and they automatically went into their own album 'Photo Library'. I want to delete the photos from this album and the album itself. I cannot seem to figure out how to do it!! I'm sure it's simple. If anyone knows how please reply!!

Photo library album can be deleted
1/ create new folder on your pc desktop and call it empty
2/ open itunes and attach your iphone
    3/ select the photo tab
4/ click on the sync photo option and select search folder
5/ select the empty folder from your desktop
    6/ click sync iphone
this should remove the photo library album and just leave your camera roll pictures left on your phone

  • After update to yosemite screensaver doesn't find aperture library albums

After I updated to Yosemite the screensaver doesn't seem able to find aperture library albums.
When I select an aperture library album (last 3 months) the screensaver is initially able to find this album. After a while and for sure after a restart, it uses the default  'National Geographic'.
It looks like it takes a long time for the screensaver to open the selected album and then it finally takes the default folder.
    Does anybody have an idea?

Screen Saver changes on it’s own
Another workaround is to delete the pictures in the National Geographic folder and add your picture there. Hard drive level Library/ScreenSavers.

  • Script to find missing library references

When readline5 came out I decided to write a quick shell script to find any binary that references readline4.  Then I generalized it:
    #!/bin/bash
    # 2004/08/22 K. Piche Find missing library references.
    ifs=$IFS
    IFS=':'
    libdirs="/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/X11R6/lib:/opt/gnome/lib:/opt/qt/lib:/opt/mozilla/lib/mozilla-1.7:/opt/kde/lib"
    extras=
    # Check ELF binaries in the PATH and specified dir trees.
    for tree in $PATH $libdirs $extras
    do
    echo DIR $tree
    # Get list of files in tree.
    files=$(find $tree -type f)
    IFS=$ifs
    for i in $files
    do
    if [ `file $i | grep -c 'ELF'` -ne 0 ]; then
    # Is an ELF binary.
    if [ `ldd $i 2>/dev/null | grep -c 'not found'` -ne 0 ]; then
    # Missing lib.
    echo "$i:"
    ldd $i 2>/dev/null | grep 'not found'
    fi
    fi
    done
    done
    exit
I successfully used it to find readline4 usage by guile and jack, and other older library references in other packages.  Hope the devs or somebody finds it useful.  And yeah it could pull the lib dirs from ld.so.conf or search the whole system but it is quick and dirty...
PS. Without the /dev/null redirects ldd reports tons of libraries without the exec bit set.  Take it out if you want to see that stuff.

  • RE: Missing Library Items CS6

    Hello Everyone.
I am Downloading the Missing Library from this Link, Is this  the correct Link ?
    http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/using/download-library-content.html
After I Downloaded the Zip Folder, Where Do I need to copy paste the Items ?
I looked under Adobe/ Adobe Encore CS6, but  I Dont see any folder called Library.
Please let me know where I have to copy paste the files
    Thanks.

    >Where Do I need to copy paste the Items ?
It tells you at that link
Depending upon your operating system, copy the Library, main, Styles, and Template folders from the folder containing the extracted library content to the appropriate location:
    Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\
    You will then have
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\\Library
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\\Library\Corporate
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\\Library\Education
...and so on for all of the folders

  • IPhone Delete Photo Library Album

Since my upgrade to iOS 5, there has been a new album in the photos app called Photo Library. This album is an exact copy of an album called "iPhone" that I created in iPhoto on my Mac. Any photos on my Mac that I want on the iPhone, I simply drag to the "iPhone" album and then sync with iTunes. If I turn sync photos OFF in iTunes, I get the warning that all synced photos will be lost on the iPhone, which I accept. After the sync, both the iPhone album AND the Photo Library album are gone from my iPhone. I then turn sync photos ON and sync. BOTH albums come back. I've copied the iPhone album to a new album, deleted iPhone album, re sync and both the new album AND the Photo Library album are back on the iPhone. If I add a photo to the new album on my iMac, then sync with iTunes, the new photo is added to both the new album AND the Photo Library Album. Should I export all my photos then create a new iPhoto library, import the photos back in?

"On the iPhone, every time I take a new photo, the new photo is added to the camera roll, not the Photo Library album."
That is correct.  Camera Roll is where ALL pics taken with iphone are stored.  You should be importing these to your computer regularly as you would with any other digital camera.  You can then organize on your computer and sync them to your iphone, where they will be in photo library.
"The Photo Library album on the iPhone contains 17 photos which are the exact same as the new album (Rich) on my iPhone. During the sync process in iTunes, I check only the album Rich to sync."
    Absokutely correct.
Again. All SYNCED ( from your computer) photos will be in photo library.  If you were to sync 10 albums with 10 pics each, then there would be 100 photos in Photo Library.

I bought an album on my iPhone and it never transferred to my iTunes account. It has disappeared now and I'm not allowed to buy it again. How can I find my missing music album or have the option to purchase it again?

    Hello bubblegirl2,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your purchased album.
First, I recommend trying to download the album from you list of past purchases.  Use the steps in the section titled "Download previous purchases on Mac or PC > iTunes Store" in the following article:
    Download past purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you have tried those steps and still do not see the album, it may be that the album is hidden.  Follow the steps below in iTunes on your computer to check if it is hidden and unhide it:
    To unhide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign in.
Choose Store > View My Account. (You may be asked to enter your password again).
On your Account Information summary, scroll down to the "iTunes in the Cloud" section and click Manage.
Choose a content type by clicking Music, TV shows, Apps, or Books from the top.
Click the Unhide button next to the item you would like to restore.
Note: If the item you are unhiding is not already downloaded on your computer locally, it will begin downloading automatically.
iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
