Missing Lyrics?

Hi guys, this is my first post because I just got my new iPod Touch. I love it. I really have no complaints because I'm sure all these little bugs will be fixed in due time. It is only the first week of release. =) Anyways, on my friends iPod Classic, he has an option to put lyrics into his iTunes and have the ability to read them on his iPod screen. In prep for getting my own iPod I spent a very very long time putting lyrics onto every song on my playlist. Now that I've put them all onto my new iPod Touch, I can't figure out how to view the lyrics. Did Apple do away with this option or am I just unable to find out how to view them. Thanks in advance.

  • It's now over 6 weeks since I made the mistake of updating my iPad and I am furious and frustrated at the lack of a solution to the problem with ios 5 audio app missing lyrics

It’s now over 6 weeks since I made the mistake of updating my iPad and I am furious and frustrated at the lack of a solution to the problem with ios 5.
I recently updated to ios 5.1 but nothing has been done to rectify the audio app problems ie lyrics no longer shown,
I am extremely disappointed and angrywith those responsible for the iOS 5 update, in regard to the way it hasaffected the music app in my iPad.
I also own an iPhone 4, am an avid Apple fan, and up until now have beenextremely pleased with the devices, and have sung their praises to friends andassociates.
I am a professional musician, and purchased an iPad primarily to use with theperformance of my music.
The changes made to the music app affected my performances over the weekendextremely adversely – limiting my repertoire and causing confusion and delays.
I have spent many hours talking withApple helpline assistants (who, incidentally have been very good and have triedto help), and I have also spent a lot of time on this letter.
I greatly regret updating to iOS 5.
There are two major problems with the music app.
    1. Lyrics no longer displayed
    2. Layout, and appearance and consequently performance have seriouslyregressed.
I have a repertoire of around 500 song backing tracks, organised into about 20playlists, half of which featured lyrics / chords that I have spent monthsrecently entering into iTunes so that they could be used on my iPad.
These were working fine up until the update - now they are gone.
Previously, the app featured large icons for playlist, artists, songs etc. atbottom of page: Now there are small, grey, indistinct barely legible buttons.
Previously, when playlist icon was selected - all the playlists were listedclearly in order on the left hand side in black on white (as in iTunes).
Now they are scattered across the whole page in large squares (displayingnothing if there is no album art).
The identifying wording below eachsquare is now small, grey, indistinct & barely legible.
Previously, when a playlist was selected - the songs were displayed in adescending list in black & white: now they appear as small, grey indistinct & barely legible.
Previously, when a song was selected - it appeared filling the page, and withaudio controls clearly positioned at top of screen. One tap would bring uplyrics.
Now audio controls appear at top once again small, grey, indistinct &barely legible.
A small square representsalbum art which if tapped fills page. A further tap fails to bring up lyrics.

Lyrics aren't supported in the Music app on iOS 5 on the iPad. These are user-to-user forums, they are not monitored by Apple (there are too many forums/threads/messages for that to happen). If you want to leave feedback for Apple then you can do so here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • ITunes library management software suggestions?

I've tried TuneUp but don't necessarily love it. Goal is to add missing lyrics, Artwork, fix artists names, etc.
Any other suggestions out there or is this the best one?

No computer program is perfect, I'll give you that. But I still think iTunes is the best one going, especially considering the price!
I think there's a market that Apple could tap into to have an iTunes Pro, costing around $50 that would have more robust library management tools, to solve the problem you're talking about, also allowing mutiple computers to more easily share and update the same library and stuff like that.
All that said, I think there are some workarounds that might help you:
    1) I'm not sure why you "re-import" your library each time iTunes loses the connection to the files. Isn't it faster just to close iTunes and re-open it. If iTunes sees the files are present at startup the ! will disapear.
    2) Someone on this forum recently suggested a good tip: create an automator action to automatically connect to your network drive when you open iTunes, so you don't have remeber to manually do that tedious step.
    Does any of that help?
    Sara.

  • Lyrics Tab is Missing in iTunes 12

The lyrics tab is missing in iTunes 12.  Many of my podcasts use that to list the tracks for long mixes.  I can open those podcasts in a 3rd party player & access the data still.  Why is it gone now?

exactly! the lyrics tab is one of the most important things for me and i guess anyone who listens to long mixes (as you have already mentioned). my fav tracks from hundreds of mixes are in the lyrics tab.
what third party software are you using to retrieve the data?

iTunes 8 "Lyric" tab under "Get info" is missing....
Now how do I add lyrics to my songs?!
How do I restore the lyric tab? Is it part of iTunes 8 new design?
    Thank you!

Well, it won't show up if it's in WAV format.
WAV format doesn't have tags for lyrics.

  • Missing song lyrics

Song lyrics show in the music app on my iphone 5 with ios7.0.3, but do not show on my ipad (3rd gen) with ios 7.0.3. Why, and how do I get lyrics to show on the ipad?

Well, Apple must think it's a Easter egg, or I'am just slow, but I found it. It's not in the user guide for the ipad but when the song that you have attached lyrics to is playing click on the "now playing" link at the top and you are taken to another page showing a large picture of the album cover. If you click on this album cover the song lyrics appear on the cover!

  • IPod touch 1st gen lyrics missing

I've been manually inputting song lyrics without any problems for about a month now. A couple of days ago, I synced the device, which seemed to happen much more quickly than usual. Today, I noticed that none of lyrics show up on my device. They are visible in iTunes in the Get Info section for each song, but have somehow been wiped off my iPod touch. I just did another sync, but the lyrics won't upload. What can I do to restore them? I know for certain that I haven't changed any of my iTunes settings.

Go to iTunes, and then go to "About iTunes". If you're using version 9.1.1 (11) you may need to download the newest version here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install it. This update won't show up in Software Update, so you'll need to download it directly from the website.

  • What do I do when the song is completely downloaded but the lyrics go missing?

  • Lyrics do not show up on iphone

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1.  I can no longer get the lyrics to display on the iPhone.  I have the option checked on the iPhone to display the lyrics, and I have checked several songs in iTunes to make sure the songs have lyrics.  Is there something else that I am missing?  All of my sonngs are MP3's that I have imported into iTunes.  I checked my wife's iPhone (an iPhone 4 as well) as it has the same issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar issue, some of my lyrics were visible on the iPhone, some were not.
I have found some hints after searching the internet, but not the complete solution, so I thought I just post what I did here.
    I have seen 2 solutions;
    - Convert the songs with lyrics to AAC, either completely or only when transferring to the iPhone.
I want to keep my files in MP3 format, so I did not go that route.
    - I found that the only way the lyrics end up usable on the iPhone is when they are added or altered while the ID3 tag version of the MP3 is 2.3, not 2.4. It may work if the ID3 tag version is older than 2.3, I have not tried.
    So what I did was
    - Convert the ID3 tag version for the MP3 files to 2.3
In iTunes this is done by right-clicking the MP3(s) and choose 'Convert ID3 tags...', then set it to 2.3
    - Add or change the lyrics of the MP3 files, this can be done in iTunes too
    - Sync your iPhone
    - It should work now...
Funny thing is that if you convert the ID3 tags to version 2.4 afterwards, then sync the iPhone, they still show up. I guess it is a weird bug.

  • How to see lyrics for song playing?

I've got lyrics entered in most of the songs in my iTunes library. I notice that on my iPad 1, when I play a song on the iPod app, I see the cover image but no lyrics. A found a web page that said I'd see the lyrics if I tapped the cover image, but that brings up a different thing - a black background with some meta-data on the song. What's the right way to get a lyrics display on the iPad?

  • I'm trying to move a folder full of "web archive" files to my IPad Mini. It says device missing services. Any ideas?

Hey all! Recently got an IPad Mini. Already have a Macbook. I have a folder full of songs(lyrics and chords) on the Mac. The file type inside the folder are all "Web Archive". I am trying to transfer this folder to my Mini, via Bluetooth. It won't allow me to transfer, it says "device missing services"? I have no idea what this means. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

You can't transfer files to another device using bluetooth.
I'm not really sure you can transfer web archives from mac to iOS device using itunes or icloud.  Remember, on an iOS device, any file has to belong to an app.  The device does not have a file system like the mac where you can move files into any folder you want.

  • Can't paste into iTunes lyrics

Up until recently, I have been able to copy lyrics from other sources and then paste them into the lyrics tab of any mp3 file in iTunes. Yesterday, I noticed that that particular functionality is missing. I hit CMD-V in the lyrics tab and nothing happens. Is there a bug in iTunes? Or has iTunes removed this function.I can
Note: I can still add lyrics manually by typing them out. But this is a PITA and frankly doesn't work for me. I am an avid lyric collector. Please help.

Just updated to iTunes 12.0.1 and it's working normally again. It was probably just a bug in the .0 release.
Thank god, if Apple gets any one bit more strict with their anti-piracy paranoia I'll be forced to find a new player. But I don't think they would do this, I've bought albums in the iTunes Store and they come with no lyrics included. Adding them manually from the internet is the only solution.

  • IPhone doesn't display song lyrics

Since last iOS update (4.3.3) my iPhone doesn't  display song lyrics anymore. That is, it displays only when I switch back to the album cover view and back to the lyrics view. When the next song starts, again only album cover art remains visible with the scrolling bar at the top, but lyrics is missing. Tap once to remove scrolling bar at the top, tap again and both scrolling bar and lyrics appear. And so for almost all tracks. Last iOS update to 4.3.4 didn't change anything here. Any ideas?

when ? - maybe with next firmware upgrade? - I don't perceive this as a hardwared issue, but a firmware update issue? would you agree?

  • Zen Vision M - Who whats to see Lyrics when song is playing say "I DO&qu

    I DO

Yea I jumped from my Ipod Nano 4gb to Zen Vision W. Originally I had one of those original Zen Micro Mp3 Players but it didn't really.... excel compared to the Ipod Nano so I jumped to the Apple bandwagon. When the Zen Vision W came out, I thought it was superior and all that but it's missing one main thing, listening to customer demands that will probably help their product. I'm not saying that Creative should listen to ALL of them but whichever seems like the people want more of. Right now, it just seems like they want to make money and screw whatever we really want, now that's Apple for sure. Probably why there are more hackers for the Apple Ipods vs the Creative Zen, duh, superiority and features availability.
I don't know about Creative anymore if this keeps up. I really like my Zen Vision W but like PeeBee had said, we can all whine and complain all we want, we will get nothing but fixes that most of us haven't noticed. I may end up selling my Vision W for a stinken Ipod Video with NAND flash memory and of course the famous, LYRICS feature. lol.
