Missing mail interface: messages, mailboxes, for all accts

Set up my 2 email accounts per directions, they authenticated just fine. Both are pop mail accts. Email sound goes off, mail icon on home screen shows new mail has arrived. But ... tap the mail icon and only see list of possible acct types to set up. NO mailboxes. NO account list. Sent test emails from computer and they arrived (according to the sound & tracked number icon). But how to get to "check & read email" view such as shown on page 51 of manual?? No messages appear in notifications either. Is there some secret door I have to unlock?

Best to quit using that Mac until you can recover though.

ICal setting default message alarm for all events

I want to change when I get message/alarms for all events (birthdays, etc.) from 2 days before to 4 days before. I find that I can only change this for single events (e.g., a specific person's birthday rather than all persons' birthdays). Is there a way to change the default so that I get my warning alarm message for all events 4 days in advance instead of 2 days?

I miss appointments b/c of this too.
And no, Apple does not read these forums UNLESS you comment on how pathetic and Mickey Mouse certain elements of their software is - like no 'default' setting for alarms in iCal, and not being able to resize windows from all edges (vs. the little annoying corner) etc etc.
I hope they fix it with the new software package in Leopard. I'm somewhat afraid it's going to be 'Leper' at first though. We'll see...

2. You may be able to use the same address by adding a plussed suffix to it, such as [email protected] If that doesn't work, create separate emails.

First thing I would expect is a wrong number. Second might be something at the recipients end.

Missing Feature in Lion: Expose for all Windows

I've written a feedback to apple, that says it all:

which was a very important time saver for me:
Expose for all Windows
I'm missing this feature very much. In Mission Control you only see one window completly of every app, the other window are hidden behind. You can't entirely see, what is in that windows behind. There isn't a text Info when you float the mouse pointer over the window.
In Mac OS X 10.6. (Snow Leopard) I loved this time saving feature. I would be so happy and grateful, if this feature were to resurface in Mac OS X 10.8. (Mountain Lion).
Please let "Expose all Windows" return! :-)

There are two problems:
1. I want to see all windows of all applications at once.
2. Even the windows seperate a little bit, there are (even with only three Windows) most parts of the windows hidden because of the front window shown.

Dear all
Is there any possibility of Posting a messages in portal for all customers and individual customers as well?
We have different list of customers, who will access the portal and do some transactions. we want to post some messages to list of customers and individual users also.

Mail, FaceTime, Messages, ... all crash and preference panes for Internet Accounts and iCloud don't load

I'm on a 27 inch iMac (end 2013) 3,5 Ghz i7. I've upgraded to Yosemite and everything worked... until today.
When I try to launch Mail, Messages, FaceTime, Rapidweaver (and who knows what else): they all crash immediately with this message:

I am the administrator of the iMac, there's a second user (account) that isn't affected (there, everything works). I have no idea what is happening since I haven't made significant changes to my iMac. Please help! I'm compleltely stuck here...

Tell us about the insignificant one then .
Do these include turning Off any Fonts ?
Adding any Fonts that might cause Conflicts ?
The default Font most apps used to need was Helvetivca.
it was used as the font for most window titles and other text items with the windows.
For Messages we know that since Mavericks this has been AppleGothic.
Use the Font Book app to check both (AppleGothic is well down the list).
They should not have Duplicates, they should be Enabled and should Validate (File Menu).

TS2998 mini mac server Mail App keeps freezing for all users.

not an email or password or ISP problem, an issue with the machine.

all was ok until about a month ago when this issue develops.

FWIW I've been struggling with this for a long time across many computers. Almost reliably when I look at my aggregate Inbox I see messages including new messages in my Exchange account's inbox, but when I click on the Exchange Inbox I would see nothing. Then I would have to quit and restart Mail and the box would show up.
Irregularly I would also occasionally get into a situation where all new messages received in the Exchange account would show no content when selected. When this happened in the past I would have to go through a separate webmail interface to read them.
This week I experienced a new wonder where the account was online and appeared to Synchronize OK, but I stopped getting new messages. Reboot, offline/online, disable/enable account: none of these fixed it.
Finally I just found a workaround: by modifying the account to store no messages on the computer, and then restarting mail, it was forced to ask the server for the messages again. Minutes of synching later and I'm back up to speed. I've turned local message storage back on again, because I doubt I can live without it, but it might help solve someone else's problems.

Mail (8.0) preference for all recipients displayed

I've searched online and I've looked over the Mail preferences and view options, but I just can't figure out how to make ALL recipients show in emails that I send and receive.
For example, a friend sends me (and 4 others) an email. When I see it in Mail it shows two of the recipients with a "and 3 more..." link in blue after that. I would rather the email display all of the recipients without having to click to show all. Anyone know how to make that happen? Apple seems to want to default to one line and I would rather default to the full list of email addresses instead.

I would love to set iMessage up on our daughter's ipod. BUT, in the past when ever ANY message was sent to our devises either to each other or from anyone on our contact list ALL our devises got it! We use our phones for business purposes and I would rather our daughter not see these messages or messages from our adult friends who would not monitor what they say in texts.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

Smart mailbox for mails which are not in another smart mailbox

I tried to create a smart mailbox for all the mails which doesn't appear in any other smart mailbox.
I know that I can tell my smart mailbox not to look for mails who are in the inbox or the other default-boxes of the mail program.
But how can I choose a smart Mailbox instead???

There is no time limit in Firefox 4+ versions for the history.<br />
Firefox determines automatically how many pages can be kept without affecting the performance.<br />
You can see the current value via the reads-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_max_pages on the about:config page.

How can I make an incoming folder in mail.app like it is on mac: a virtual folder where all incoming messages from all accounts are displayed?
I have several email accounts and it's very uncomfortable to dig into one account, then back to root^ than to another...

You can't - this is up to Apple to provide a "blended" Inbox mailbox for all accounts and the same for the Drafts, Sent, and Trash mailboxes for all accounts as is available with the Mail.app on a Mac.

Inbox and Drafts show unread message count of all folders within. Can I get the local folders to do this too?

I'm filtering mail into folders in the local folder tree. There may be two or three levels, e.g., Local Folders -> Lists -> OS -> MacOSX. Mail that is unread in the MacOSX folder is counted and displayed when the MacOSX folder is visible. However, keeping the entire tree on display is a nuisance and it is long, so I don't see things ate the bottom. I have to scroll to reveal the rest of the items in the folder tree. For these reasons I'd prefer to have the folder tree in its minimal state.
Is it possible to have the the top level folders display an unread message count for all the enclosed folders?

when I collapse the folder tree of local folders, it shows the unread count for sub folders.
