  • Is anybody have problem after upgrading mountain lion to 10.8.2?

I have a macbook pro with 16 meg ram
I have a new problem since I upgrade to mountain lion 10.8.2 :   My computer freeze  and the only way to make it works is to reboot.
Is someone have this same problem?
    Any information about that?
    Thanks
    Pierre

I'm a similar issue, but mine freezes up on almost any program and can't really see a constant reason why. I'm going to try the combo updates as sig suggested to see if that helps.

  • Slow than walk after upgrading mountain lion on my macbook pro

when using leopard, it all works well. but last few days, I have to develop with xcode, and the new version requires me to upgrade the os to moutain lion. then I spent 158 hkd in your app store download the lion. after upgrading, all the things become worse. Previously, even when I open a vm running windows XP, the programs in mac os running with no problem. but now i just browse the internet in chrome, it would stuck and i can't click anything. this circumstance appears several times! and when i watch some online videos(no other apps running at the time), i found it like powerpoint! and the boot time of my macbook pro never took more than 30 seconds before but now 3 minutes! maybe not enough. all the things become slowly and slowly and slowly. your moutain lion os really *****!
my macbook pro is with i5 CPU and 4GB memory.
is there anyway i could optimize it, just run a bit faster!

Consider doing a Permissions Repair using Disc Utility... Followed by a Restart.
    Verify or Repair Disk Permissions

    Also.. You could try this...
    Go here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1581
and Download and Install the Combo Update.
It is Safe to Install over existing.
After a Successful Install be sure to Restart your computer.

My imac 2009 has been upgrading 3 days ago to OSX 10.8.3. And since when I select Mail the window is openning and immediadtly shut down.
I tried to re install la version of mountain lion and deled "folder" in Bibliotheue/maildata. But no resuslt.
Apparently I am not alone with this trouble.
    Thanks to help me

Write down all account information or take screen shots. You'll need to reenter the information later. Quit Mail. Hold down the option key while using the Finder "Go to Folder" command and type ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail. Move the entire container, not just the contents, to the desktop. Open Mail to see if it works. Reset all account information and test. If no change, put the container back. If Mail works properly, delete the container. You may/will lose some emails if you end up deleting the container.

  • Safari won't open after upgrading Mountain Lion

The dialog box states 'Safari quit unexpectedly'. Restarting in regular and safe mode doesn't help.
It seems this is a common problem from the blogs... Any suggestions?

  • Missing Help after Upgrading to Mountain Lion

I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion (10.8.2) yesterday, on my Mac Pro.
Since then, every time I try to access help, it tells me:
The selected topic is currently unavailable
Make sure you’re connected to the Internet. For help connecting, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Network, and click “Assist me.”
If you’re connected to the Internet, and the content still doesn’t appear, try again later.
My Mac Pro is connected to the Internet.  I've tried again later a number of times yesterday and again today.
This has occurred for quite a few topics, such as Notes, Finder, etc.
What must I do to get Help content for Mountain Lion?
    Thanks!

I looked on my Snow Leopard system, and found the Mac Help in:
    /Library/Documentation/Help/MacHelp.help/Contents/Resources/English.lproj
There are several directories under there that hold the individual documentation pages, such as pgs, pgs2.
There are no pgs* folders in that directory on my upgraded Mountain Lion system.
Does that mean that the documentation did not get installed during the installation?  If so, is there a way to install Help after the fact, or do I have to reinstall Mountain Lion?
Or, is the documentation installed elsewhere for Mountain Lion?

  • Ive just upgraded my late 2009 macbook, and things are not working properly. First of all, when I started the computer first time after installing Mountain Lion, some message advised me that some files were impossible to install.

Ive just upgraded my late 2009 macbook, and things are not working properly. First of all, when I started the computer first time after installing Mountain Lion, some message advised me that some files were impossible to install. Once I wrote my password, and for now on, everytime I start the session, another window advise me that "Java SE 6" is missing, due that, the computer can't run some "CS5Service Manager". If I try to install it, the download ends with an error. If finally, you skip the istallation, you arrive to the dock, but the menu bar at the top of the screen doesn't show up.
In addition, my trackpad doesn't works either. I can move the arrow but i can't click anywhere, probably because the option of clicking by touching is disabeled and I can't performance a regular click.
I'll be very glad if someone know what the heck is happening with my computer. Anyway, I'm going to the genius bar next Saturday. Thx!

iPhoto, imovie missing after reinstalled mountain lion!

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718:
Restoring iLife applications after Internet Restore of OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion
If you erase install OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion on a new Mac that shipped with OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion installed, you can download iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand from the Mac App Store.
After installation, start (up) from OS X.
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

  • TS3147 After installing Mountain Lion, I tried to scan from my Canon MX870 and received the message: "MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. A report will be sent to Apple,"

After installing Mountain Lion, I tried to scan from my Canon MX870 and received the message: "MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. A report will be sent to Apple,"  This problem happened right after I installed Mountain Lion. I then downloaded Canon's upgraded software and drivers for the MX 870 and the problem was resolved. Now one month later, the problem has returned.

Solved problem with original Canon software.  When I downloaded Canon software upgraded for OS X 10.8, I got all by Navigator Ex. Noticed that on Canon's site, the upgraded version is 3.1; my app was 2.1. Upgraded to 3.1 for Nav. Ex, and it works.
You should still use Image Capture IMHO.  If it was my gear, that's what I would do.  No need to worry about software upgrades.

  • I am having mail problems after installing Mountain Lion

The mail doesn't work properly and the cursor freezes up and I get the color wheel whenever I start typing and have to wait for it to catch up.  All this started after downloading the wonderful upgrade Mountain Lion.  Is there a way to go back.  I was happier then.

Looks like the Silicon Image drivers were moved to the incompatible software folder during install/upgrade.
Downloaded latest drivers, errored out of install claiming that the drivers were from an unknown author!!!
Emailed their tech support this evening describing problem.

  • I lost the capability of using Outlook 2011 Smart Folders after my Mountain Lion 10.8.2 install

After my OS 10.8.2 upgrade from Lion 10.7.5, I noticed an immediate problem with Outlook 2011 attached to our Exchange Server. 1) I rebuild My Identity two times using the Microsoft Database Utility Program, 2) I re-Indexed my whole Hard Drive Volume using Spotlight's Privacy Feature (actually inputing the volume in the Privacy screen, then immediately removing it to start the indexing which took 24 hrs.), and 3) I removed and added back the Outlook .plist files located in both Preference Folders (Home-User) and System.
All email Smart Searches stop at the date 10/5/12 the day I finished my Mountain Lion Install. I cannot add Outlook Smart Folders as well. Is there a Mountain Lion/Outlook .plist file that was stepped on or should I export my Identity file  and create a New Identity and re-import my information. It seems that that has been tried on the Microsoft Mac discussion boards and it has been ineffective at solving the functionality of Outlook 2011 after a Mountain Lion Install.
Interestingly, I have an an older mid 2009 iMac, a late 2009 Mac Mini and a mid 2010 MBP iCore7 home computers running Outlook after a Mountain Lion Install and the program works great!!! However, I only have Mail coming into the InBox on the Exchange Server and do not download any mail to the Computer Inboxes. I download emails from the Exchange Server to the Computer (Late 2009 Mac Mini) office and the Rules to move mail to  "on my computer folders" work nicely. The Smart Folders in which I want to filter and view 0 Day or 1 Day old (Yesterday) emails does not function and seem to stop functioning the day I installed OS 10.8.2.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ~DDAM

  • Does anyone have an email client that is working with Mountain Lion? I'm giving up on Mail after installing Mountain Lion

    Hi
I give up.  I just cannot see my exchange inbox in Mail after installing Mountain Lion.  My mail is not being deleted.  Its still in my inbox I just can't see it. I've tried everything suggested on the forums and nothing is working for me.
My productivity has completely stalled and I really need to move to an email client that is going to work seamlessly with Mountain Lion.
    Any recommendations?

I have the same problem. Upgraded to ML, and my Mac Mail suddenly can't communicate with Gmail's SMTP server.
I have been having the SAME problem with ALL my Gmail accounts with Mail.app - It is very annoying, especially when you have clients and other important email to respond to.  So you're definitely NOT alone in this department.
Might have to go back to Thunderbird or something until this gets fixed, which is going to really suck because I have 5000+ emails along with all my Email Folders in Mail not too mention the Rules I have had setup for years!
AND with the RSS Feeds NOT working in BOTH Mail and Safari!  That was a HUGE MISTAKE and defintely a STEP BACKWARDS on whoever's idea that was for sure!
