Missing Main/Navigator Toolbar JDEV 904

I would like to know how to reset the look and feel of the Main/Navigator toolbars within JDEV 904. When I select View -> Toolbars - the toolbar is displayed, but only as a bar of one pixel height :(
I have tried to resize/drag n drop/open/close/minimise/maximise this "single pixel bar" - but with no success.
Can someone provide me some pointers on resetting the JDEV gui environment please.
thanks
Miles.

Hi Miles,
This is a known issue with JDeveloper 9.0.5 or earlier when you've terminated JDeveloper forcibly (e.g. killed the process by ctrl-c, task manager or a forced shutdown in Windows) while it's exiting. The cause of the problem is that the ide.properties file in your system directory has been corrupted.
To resolve it, copy ${jdev.home}/jdev/multi/system/ide.properties to ${jdev.home}/jdev/system9.0.4.x.x/
This issue is resolved in 10.1.3 (toolbar items are defined in extension manifests, which not written during termination of the ide).
Thanks,
Brian

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":

  • The search function is missing from my navigation toolbar

I have the navigation toolbar checked under the View menu. It shows the regular stuff but to the right of the URL site name it shows a Wikipedia search function. I don't know where that came from but I want my general search function back.

There are two ways I'm aware of where toolbar icons disappear.
One is where you make the window narrower (icons drop off as the window gets too narrow to display them).
If that's not it then it sounds like the toolbar has been customized to remove it. In that case just use View -> Customize Toolbar... and drag whatever icons you like back into the toolbar (or drag off icons you no longer want).

I customize the navigation toolbar to include a flexible space at the end of the URL field. The purpose is to ensude that all the standard buttons are avaialble to the right of that field. I hit DONE and there is no change to the toolbar other then the 'X" ( stop this site) is missing and not accessible. The "x" become accessible only if I move it to the left of the URL. I simply have no menu bar, navigation toolbar and address bar. I've tried all the usual procedures but I can't get those back.

After upgrading to FF 20.0 some of the icons (not Favicons) to the right of the Search Box on the Navigation toolbar keep disappearing. The icons are Springpad Clipper extension, Evernote, Ghostery, Greasemonkey, Pocket. Each time I start FF some (or all) of them are missing. I tried a "Reset Firefox". The first time after the reset, after syncing, all the icons appeared. The second time (now) the Springpad icon has disappeared.

  • How can I get the 'recent pages' feature back in the navigation toolbar Firefox 4.x?

I use Firefox 3.6.17, Dutch version. At home i've updated to firefox 4. But I miss in this version one of the nicest features (i think): In the navigation toolbar on the left side (in version 3.x), you can browse back and forward and also there is a small arrow that shows the pages that you have visited (I don’t know the name in English, but in Dutch it is called recente pagina’s, literally translated recent pages). In version 4.x this little arrow has disappeared.
How can I get it back in version 4.x?

Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.
Or install this extension to get the old "drop-marker" button restored. <br />

    Hi Peter,
I'm using IE8 to view the help as this is our target but I've also tested with Firefox 3.6.8. The behaviour remains the same in all cases.
In addition I have tested the same System Administrator help module:
    while resident on my C:\
while resident on a shared networked drive (inside and outside of my network domain); and
while hosted on a SharePoint server.
I spotted this problem while testing our upgrade from RH7 to RH9 but I've since tested earlier versions of the deliverables and found that the problem was there when we were using RH7; we simply missed it .
Here is the help prior to clicking on the hyperlinked text to the unreferenced-topic:
Here is the target topic with the navigation pane collapsed and clicking the index button to demonstrate that nothing happens:
On clicking "Home" in the breadcrumb trail (top right of prev. topic), the topic is displayed but the helpset does not refresh nor is there a "Show" link to open the pane, as one gets when directly opening the Home page by double-clicking:
    Any help appreciated.
