Missing Media files And How To replace them

I have moved a number of media files in the Motion project I'm working on. These media Files have simply been moved into another directory. I need to relink them up with the files but when I try and go to the button that says : "replace media file" I press it and nothing happens.
W.. isn't there supposed to be a window that pops up or somthing?
How else can I re-link these media files into my project without completley replacing them and redoing the trim fade placement etc.?

Have you tried the "Reconnect Media" command in the File menu? That should help you reconnect every media file in the project, instead of doing them one by one using the replace media button in the inspector.

hello, it sounds like the library is damaged.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Missing domain files and how do I find them?

Two related questions and I will try to be brief. both are related.
1. If I have several iWeb projects, I create a folder in each client's folder where I store their domain.sites2 file. When I set up a new project for a new client I usually have to move the previous project (that is automatically launched in iWeb)into a temporary place until a newly launched and created iWeb project is created. Then I move the previous domain file back to its client folder before I begin work on the second one. I am sure there is an easier way to do this, but this works for me. So question one is is this the way to do this?
2. When I did that today (launched iWeb, found client #1's project still showing there, closed iWeb, moved #1 to temp, relaunched iWeb and got "create a new domain?" which I said yes to, then told it where to save it to). However what was showing now in iWeb was a project I had worked on a long time ago, not a new blank slate. So I tried to find where that very old project was located to delete it completely so iWeb will start anew, and spotlight can not seem to find the domain.site file of that project. I have tried spotlight "domain.sites2, site, site2, domain" and all the rest of my clients projects are listed, just not this old one, yet it must be here somewhere or why else would iWeb automatically call it up?
Anyway I can do a more in depth search for this file?
I tried working a bit on the new project using the old file that appears in iWeb, but I don't know where it is saved to move it incase I want to start on another new project.

I found the answer finally to both questions on a post dated today from "Ethmoid". It reads:
"You need to go to your Home User Library and not your System Library - (note the difference), then Application Support/iWeb - open the iWeb application and your domain.sites files for the sites you have created should be there."
I will use this location now to move files instead of the way I was doing them before within their own folders. much safer this way.

I have this problem. I have some .class that must be
packaged some way to deploy in the application user's directory. At some point of the execution the application will ask to create some object define in one of that classes I mentioned. So how can I package those classes, in a jar file or in a zip file? And most important will it work out ?!.

HT203167 I found my media files. How do I get them back into my itunes library. I have tried :add to library" and copy & paste but that didn't work.

I found my itunes songs marked with an exclamation point in the media file. How do I move them back into the libary? I have tried copying and pasting but that didn't work. When I hit control, then click, there is no option "Put back" as suggeseted in the apple supoort article.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

If you have the original media files you can do the following ... Select a clip that has a missing media file from your timeline. Control Click and choose Reveal in Event Browser. The event the clip is in and the clip icon should appear in the event browser. If you had previously selected only a section of the clip a yellow border will show the part of the clip you had used. Be careful not to run your cursor over that clip so as not to change the yellow border. Go to the File/Import ... File menu selection and point to the location of the original clip. Import the clip. The icon in the event browser and the associated clip on your timeline should fill in with the clip you just imported. If you had applied effects to the clip on the timeline they should still be there, and you can verify that by clicking on the timeline clip and looking at the Video tab under the Inspector window. This method works well for me in generic cases ... not sure if you have a different iMovie-related issue coming into play. Best wishes.

What are LRPREV files, and how do I open them?

I uploaded some pictures onto my laptop from my phone. They seem to have disappeared completely, as they are no longer on my phone, in any of my laptop folders (i've checked several times) or my laptop recycling bin. Having said that, many LRPREV files have appeared in a couple of my folders, which I had not seen before. Putting 2 and 2 together, it seems like the photos from the phone may have unintentionally been converted into this file type.
My main problem is that I can't open them, so I can't see them to find out. What are LRPREV files and how can I open them? Otherwise, would I be able to convert them into a file type which I should be able to view?
I would also be grateful if anyone had any suggestions of where my photos may have gone to.

I am no expert but have had LR since LR3. Did you import the photos into your LR catalog? It sounds like you have at least viewed the photos using LR or they would not show up in your LRPREV files. LRPREV files are those that have been at least looked at in LR because LR automatically makes previews (thumbnails) of photos you have actually added to a catalog or at least attempted to import. When you upload photos from your phone what folder do you send them to? Why are the original files no longer on your phone, do you automatically delete photos after you import them? You shouldn't do that until you at least confirm you can see them on your computer and have backed them up to at least a second, preferably offline, location. I would open your LR catalog and look for for a line in your navigation module indicating recent imports? I probably haven't helped you much.

I am trying to remove files to get my computer to run better. In the storage summery it shows a category OTHER. What are these file and how can I remove them. I went through my downloads and documents and copied them and then removed them. What else could they be??

They are files that cannot be put in the other categories. They are documents, email, cache, temp, OS files, etc.

What is an .acv file and how do you use it in PS?

I downloaded a PDF about using curve adjustments to compensate for evaluating prints under 3500K SoLux halogen lighting relative to using a monitor calibrated to 5000K for editing. (by John Paul Caponigro). Along with the download came a file named "correctforhalogen.acv" but there is no mention of it in the PDF.
I know this file has something to do with doing a quick curves adjustment for color correction, but it doesn't appear to be an actions file. Does anyone know what .acv files are exactly and how you implement them in PS? Thanks.

That did the trick, once I figured out the missing step. For other folks interested, to use an .acv file to adjust a curve:
Open the Curves Adjustment Panel > Panel Options drop-down menu > Load Curves Preset... > find & select the .acv file (on hard drive) in the "LOAD" window > click LOAD. The adjustment in the .acv file will be applied to the image and appear in the curves graph of the Curves Adjustment Panel. Slick.
Apparently, moving the .acv file to the "Curves" folder in the "Presets" folder allows this curve adjustment to be a permanent preset choice. It can then be found under the Curves Panel preset drop-down menu. Just look for the original .acv file's name in the list.

I'm in prepress, working mainly with Quark XPress for advertising files and with Word, Photoshop, everything, for many years. My older computer is the workhorse with Quark 6.5 and CS4 and OSX 10.4.11. Everything is set up for me to produce PDF x1a files by printing .ps files from Quark and Word, and InDesign.
My newer computer, OSX 10.9.4, must now be used to a greater extent. So I have Quark 9 and 10 and now Creative Suite for the Cloud. But I don't have any Adobe PDF printer which I select when I print .ps files and place into my Distiller Watched Folder. I by pass selecting the Adobe PDF printer in Word and just print straight to .ps. The .ps file just sits in the Watched Folder and no longer flows into Distiller, processed and out. Is this the way of the future? I just want a smooth, fast flow for PDF's. I want them to be PDF x1a compliant for hi-quality printing.
Thought you might help to give me info as to how one uses Distiller (or not) with the new operating system and latest programs. Can't seem to find any info as of yet by searching the Adobe FAQ's and the Internet in general.

False positive critical alert from OEM: number of missing media files is 7

Hi all,
We were a bit stunned here as we got a page from OEM that the number of missing media files is 7! We ran the query only to find that there are none missing. One of the SR. DBA's said he thought he remembered seeing this months ago and it cleared itself soon after.
SELECT COUNT(FILE#)
FROM V$DATAFILE_HEADER
WHERE RECOVER ='YES'
OR ERROR IS NOT NULL;
After running that to verify the count is 0 (no missing files or corrupt files) I then looked in OEM at the alert and clicked the hyperlink to the graph that shows a spike to 7 then immediately went away so I assume this is some but in 10.2.0.4?

Missing Media File Count metric represents the count of missing media files.
You can remove it from monitoring template if don't need.
