Missing media from itunes purchases

I'm not sure what to do here. I have two Apple IDs and I can't remember one of them. If I search for it it only gives me the option of changing my password for the current one I do remember. I'm missing 8 seasons of a show that was linked to my Apple TV but now I don't see it there and its not on my Macbook. Any suggestions?

Select an item in iTunes: Get Info > File (tab or button)
does indicate under what ID a purchase was made.
Checking for possibly an app, movie that shows up, or podcast that was purchased/downloaded using the other ID
is a convenient place to look.

  • Missing media from iTunes libarey and iPod

I went to get a song off my iPod to listen to and notice it wasn't there. Went back to my iTunes libarey and the songs wasn't there either. I'm missing about 100 to 150 songs.  How can I get them back beacuae those songs wasn't free. Please help.

Legally no since you are only allowed one download of music and it is your responsibility to backup the music.  However, sometimes Itunes will allow a redownload at no additional cost if you explain what happens.  To contact iTunes go the the following and select the appropriate topic:

  • Burned CDs from iTunes purchases play in some stereo units and not others

My car stereo has no problems playing CDs I've recently burned from itunes purchases. My wife's car stereo can't! She doesn't have an ipod dock in her 9 year old car so it's CDs or nothing. Anyone have any ideas why the discs won't play in her car but do play on every other CD player (including my PC) that we own?
Her car stereo has no issues playing other CDs, including CDs I've burned from itunes which were originally uploaded from CDs by me.
It seems to be the most recent three purchases from itunes that are the problem. Do I need to convert the AAC files back to MP3 before burning or some other clever cheat?
    Thnx in advance

Thnx for the comments Chris CA.
Yes, Audio CD is selected when I burn the CDs.

  • Cannot check for available downloads nor download media from iTunes store.

Here's what I can do: 1) I can access the internet. 2) I can access and purchase media from the iTunes store. 3) I can stream radio through iTunes. 4) I can download podcasts.
Here's what I can't do: 1) I cannot check for available downloads. 2) I cannot download purchased media. I receive the following message in a pop up window. "Unable to Check for Available Downloads. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
I have tried all of the following troubleshooting guides recommended by iTunes support without success:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
iTunes for Windows: iTunes Store Connection Troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1527
iTunes for Windows: Connection Issues when using Internet Filters, Accelerators, or Firewalls
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1379
I have also removed my router out of the equation and connected directly to my cable modem so port forwarding is not an issue either. The only idea I have left is to call my ISP. Seems like a long shot. I know it is going to be something obvious.

I just realized that I posted this in the wrong forum. If you are an administrator and want to move it, please feel free. Sorry.

  • Missing episodes from iTunes.

Has anyone noticed missing episodes on iTunes? I purchased a season pass for "Please Like Me" and episode 4 is missing.

Whether iTunes has synced all six episodes to your Apple TV or is planning on streaming them, all six episodes should appear on your TV. (When iTunes is running on your Mac, otherwise +only synced+ items appear on your Apple TV.) Do you have "Show only the synced items on my Apple TV" selected in iTunes, under the Summary tab?
Although I don't have a definitive answer, what I'd try is:
    1) Quit and restart iTunes. Ensure that your Apple TV can see iTunes, perhaps by downloading some podcast to your Mac and verifying that you can see it on your Apple TV.
    2) In iTunes, switch to Custom Sync and then go to the TV Shows tab and sync All Episodes of just that one show. Remember to press the Sync button.
    3) Try restarting the Apple TV by holding both the Menu and Down arrow buttons for several seconds (six?).
    4) Try playing the troublesome episodes in iTunes. Ensure that they're marked as Not New (right click the episodes and select "Mark as Not New" from the context menu).
    Good luck!

  • Re-downloading missing music from iTunes

After losing an external HD a year or so ago with my itunes purchased items on - when the new itunes feature of re-downloading previously purchased items was launched, I thought, great I can get all my old stuff back.
However, when using the feature, I find that that my iTunes Music DB still has the items listed in its database (although with the exclamation mark saying that it cant locate the item) so it does not show them as missing items.
On my iPad all is fine and I downloaded my 900 odd missing items.
How do I(if I can) get these items back on my back?
My only idea is to manually remove the exclaimed items from ITunes then try the featrure again from my mac.
    Any other ideas?
    Many Thanks

  • Missing or Lost iTunes Purchase Downloads

I was in the iTunes store a couple of days ago and purchased two songs to download. The downloads weren't completed as there was an error message saying "internet connection" was lost. I tried it again but the same message appeared.
This isn't necessarily a problem because I would be able to locate the purchased items from my list and try again. However after I logged out and then logged back in those purchased items have gone missing. I do have a list of all my purchases from iTunes but the last two songs I purchased aren't there and I know I have been charged for them because they have been charged against my iTunes account. They are definitely not in my iTunes Library, so where are they?
I checked my iTunes purchase history and I have an order reference as proof of purchase with the date and time of purchase. So how can I find out how to get those songs back without having to pay for them again or who would I report the problem to? Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Look under the Store menu in iTunes for the "Check for available downloads" command and run that. You may find the tracks there to be downloaded.
If not, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department from their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • Remove missing music from iTunes database

I have  been converting my music from one format to another and (because I don't know how to replace the original version rather than just creating a new copy) deleting the old version.  Doing so leaves me with two references in iTunes to the relevant music, one copy of which refers to a now missing track.
How can I rebuild the database so that the duplicate and now missing tracks are deleted but the data for the new versions including last played time is untouched?
I presume I can rebuild the database by deleting all music from iTunes but not the disk and then adding my iTunes folder again but I also presume that this will delete all the last played times and ratings.

you might find this script useful:
    Super Remove Dead Tracks
Surveys iTunes for tracks whose files are no longer available (so-called "dead" tracks, as indicated by a "!" next to their names) and removes them. Progress is breezily indicated every 500 tracks while iTunes is the frontmost app.

  • Can I batch download missing tracks from iTunes Match?

For some reason thousands of my tracks have gone missing in iTunes. No idea what can have happened, unless it was a consequence of messing with TuneSpan...! The exclamation mark icon appears next to the missing tracks. I can play them and download them if I go through a series of clicks so I could download tham all one at a time (indeed I started to do so) but to complete this job is going to take hours and risk giving me repetitive strain injury. Is there a way to get iTunes to download all the missing ytracks from Match?

Thanks. This will save me one click per item, but I still have to click each one individually a couple of times (ie to make it 'play' in order to get rid of the and then press Escape to dismiss the dialog box that comes up about searching for other missing files. (If I select multiple items and control-click for the contextual amenu, Download does not appear – only when I have gone through all of the above to turn into the iCloud download icon.)

  • Making MP3 CDs from iTunes purchases.

My car can read MP3 CDs and I don't recall having this issue with the old iTunes software but it could be coincidence.
Anyway over the past several months I've been using XM since my MacBook Pro with Retina display doesn't have a CD Burner on it. Well a buddy of mine gave me his old super drive so I decided to burn an MP3 CD but I was greeted with the message, "MP3s can only be added to MP3 CDs" or something along those lines. I noticed that it was my iTunes purchased songs wouldn't convert to be added to the CD.
What's the easiest way to fix this problem?

An "MP3 CD" is really nothing more than a data CD. There's nothing special about it except that all the files on it are MP3s. Tracks purchased from the iTunes Store are not .mp3 files; they are AAC files with an extension of .m4a.
You can cross convert an AAC file to MP3, but you should be aware that you will be losing quality that may affect what you hear. Before you do this check the manual for the head unit in the car and see if it also reads AAC files. If it does you'll be able to burn a data CD with the iTunes Store purchases, no problem.
To convert AAC to MP3, in iTunes 11, open iTunes prefs > General and click Import Settings. Change the import settings to what you want them to be. OK out of the dialogs. Find the tracks you wish to convert in the iTunes Library, highlight them, right-click (or Control+click) and choose "create MP3 version." This will create a new tracks that can now be burned to an "mp3 cd."

  • Missing song from itunes cd

I purchased a cd from itunes and after 15 songs were downloaded it said i had netework problems and stopped downloading. I could still access music store however.

Under "advanced" in iTunes, did you try "check for purchased music" to see if the rest of your download re-starts? Welcome to discussions!

  • Song titles mixed up when downloading from iTunes purchased

I had to do an iPod restore and download some of my songs from my Purchased section on the iTunes store, however there is one album - Richard Smith's "Soulidified" - whose songs somehow got mixed up between the time I originally purchased one of the songs a few years ago and now. As such, I now have the wrong song in my Purchases library with the correct title. Can somebody direct me to how I can get this fixed because I am not paying for another track over something that I did not cause.

Can anyone help me with this?

  • AppleTV is not playing media from iTunes

I have a 500GB+ iTunes library on a FireWire external. I have always been able to pull up my TV Shows, Movies etc from either of my AppleTVs. I have a 2nd Gen in my living room and a 3rd Gen in my bedroom.
Suddenly, over a week ago, both decided that they did not want to play any of my videos from iTunes any more.
I can navigate to Computers, select either Movies or TV Shows, navigate the full list in either... but when you press play, you get this...
The TV will sit and spin for hours upon hours.
Here is what I have done to try to resolve this issue...
Restored both AppleTVs to factory settings, updated to the latest available OS.
Logged out of Home Sharing on my iMac and back in.
Moved my AppleTVs to 5GHz WiFi
    Rebooted my iMac
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm going mad!

I have a very similar issue with a comparable time frame.  Mine eventually tells me that the computer is not authorized, although it is.  I can still watch content streaming from Apple's servers, but not streaming from my hard drive.  I'm on a Windows computer hosting the library, and had issues with jerky video for a week prior to this new issue.  I have rebooted the computer multiple times to no avail, and have even tried running iTunes with an administrator account.
