(missing) media multicam clip

I created this multicam clip. I am editing using proxy media. I did change some names to the media. My media and projects are on an external HD. I went to hook it up this morning and I got this? Does it have to do with relinking? I'm so lost. It looks like the project is in tact  but the Referenced Events is saying "1 clip in use" and 1 clip missing. I click modify but the volume that is connected is the one I used.

It looks like there's an audio file called julian that's missing or damaged. Is it in the multicam clip?

  • Multicam clip displays as missing

I duplicated my event/project to an external drive, but when I work from the external drive my multicam clip lists as missing.  I fixed this once, but I can't remember how.
    Help please

Did you remember to check the option to duplcate relevant Events when you duplicated the project?
If not, the media won't be on the new drive.

  • When reopen Premier Pro CC, get message "missing media for these clips".  I haven't moved files or anything.  Please help.

When reopen a project in Premier Pro, I get the error message "missing media for these clips" and a listing of every file in the project.
When try to view, just get thumbnails with question marks.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

Is the media on an external drive?

  • Missing media for 17 clips when I open a project.

I'm a brand new user. I'm using Classroom In A Book as my tutorial. When I open a project, I'm missing media for 17 clips. Nothing I've tried finds them.

Thanks! I did finally find them. Now I don't know what to do with them. I
assume I'm supposed to link them to the lesson I'm working on, but I see
nothing that will let me do that.

  • IMovie won't export "missing media" and now won't import archived footage either?

    Hello,
I made a movie in iMovie 10.0.3, and tried to export it to "file". It came up fine in the Theatre, but when I exported it to "file" a message about "missing media" came up, and when I tried to play it (tried to burn it to DVD), a further message about "quicktime not recognising the format" came up. It was saved as an mp4 file. I thought I would try and delete all the original footage and reimport it from the external HDD (where it was saved as archived footage), however when I plug the HDD in, the previously imported clips don't come up. I've emptied the trash to try and help (clutching at straws!), and was wondering if anyone could offer advice on how to a. export the movie successfully or b. reimport the clips so I can make the movie again (long and tedious, but possibly the only way?).
    Thanks in advance.
ps this is my first time posting, so please be gentle with a newbie!

Found the solution myself! All I needed to do was turn off the Time Machine. I have no idea why it does that. Finally, I can use iMovie again! Apple should really fix that though.

  • I get "Modified File" message with AVCHD clips after making Multicam clip?

First off, this is only happening to some of the AVCHD clips, and typically not the same ones each time. I've tried trashing the files and re-importing because some clips imported as camera files. There is no DCIM folder in the footage folder. I've re-linked, restared, thrown out ALL the footage, the events, the projects and stared from scratch. The fresh import seemed a-ok this morning until I made the multicam clip.
I selected "create optimized media" and "create proxy media" when I imported. I'm currently transcoding today's offensive clip again, as fcpx seems to think that is possible. Perhaps that will fix it this time, but I've been stuck in a continual cycle of the clips working and then disappearing and being replaced by various red error mesages for the last few days so I'd like to figure out what is wrong with my workflow.
I tried archiving the AVCHD files before importing to the event, but fcpx can't see the files on the computer, so I have to use the version on my external drive. I'm also bringing in AVCHD files from an SD card, but so far today those ones have been fine. The multicam contains a sound file and footage from four cameras: a canon DSLR, a Panasonic GH2, and two Sonycams that create AVCHD files.

There's no automatic way to do this.  You'll have to Match Frame the clips into the Source Monitor, find the In/Out timecodes, then load the new clip with audio and go to those same timecodes to set In/Out points. and add just the audio to the sequence.

  • How do i reimport missing media

While importing media files to FC, some of the files did not import correctly. How can I re-import only those files? Is there a way to batch import the missing media files if I select them?

Improted from where? Camera? Try the reimport from camera function. Yes you can import multiple clips selectively.

  • Tagging/Favorite certain angle of Multicam Clip?

Is there a way to TAG or FAVORITE a certain angle of a multiclip?  It appears that all tagging and favoriting will apply to multiclip as a whole, with no indication of which angle the tag was intended to apply to.
I want to mark certain sections of certain angles of a multiclip to favorite so I remember to use them in the edit, but there doesn't seem to be a way.
Sadly, when you multiclip two clips it doesn't seem to take the tagging/favoriting with it, so i can't tag previous to making the multicam clip because all that stuff disappears.
I sort of found a workaround for the favoriting part.  I simply make a favorite in the multiclip then rename "Favorite" to include the angle number I am referring to.
But I can't do that same workaround for tagging.
    Am I missing something?

You coulld use markers and make notes.

  • How do I reconnect missing media files?

I have imported an iMovie project but the links to the Media files are broken.  How do I recconect in FCPX

If you have the original media files you can do the following ...  Select a clip that has a missing media file from your timeline.  Control Click and choose Reveal in Event Browser.  The event the clip is in and the clip icon should appear in the event browser.  If you had previously selected only a section of the clip a yellow border will show the part of the clip you had used.  Be careful not to run your cursor over that clip so as not to change the yellow border.  Go to the File/Import ... File menu selection and point to the location of the original clip. Import the clip.  The icon in the event browser and the associated clip on your timeline should fill in with the clip you just imported.  If you had applied effects to the clip on the timeline they should still be there, and you can verify that by clicking on the timeline clip and looking at the Video tab under the Inspector window.  This method works well for me in generic cases ... not sure if you have a different iMovie-related issue coming into play.  Best wishes.

  • "Missing media" error trying to share new trailer

My daughter is using iMovie for the first time on a new Macbook Air running OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 and iMovie 10.0.1.  She imported the video clips from her iTouch to her iMovie library and used some of those to create a Trailer.  She used the default music from the trailer template and only the video clips she imported from the iTouch to the Air's local hard drive.  In "Library" view the trailer is visible and looks fine.
However, trying to share or export the movie in any form (Theater, Email, Quicktime) generates the following error message, "[TRAILER NAME]" has missing media.  If you click Continue, your project will be exported without these clips."  The one time I tried to export it looked like only the first video clip she used was converting - the entire rest of the trailer was gone...but it's still working in Library view.
I cannot figure out the source of this problem, nor can I discover the answer in the forums.  (I can't even see which media the app says are missing??)  I've seen advice on delete/reinstall but was concerned that the trailer might vanish if I exit the app.
Thanks in advance for any assistance on a fix.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Yes -- when I wrote "in library view" it referred to within the iMovie app, where you toggle between "Library" and "Theater".
OK, so I found the Movies folder and the iMovie library folder inside -- thank you.  The "original media" sub-folder seems to contain all 50-odd .mov files that were imported from the iTouch (though, curiously, about half show the deafult QT thumbnail icon - playing any of those replaces it with an image).
The folder also contains a subfolder with the name of her project; in that there is a single file called "CurrentVersion.imovieevent" that I assume is what the app is playing in the library/project view.  But no other clues as to why the Share contines to return the missing media error...
To make matters more complicated, she subsequently created a second Trailor and that all seems to be working perfectly.  I have no idea what's different about the newer project, but maybe just the first (and, imho, much better) trailor isn't going to work...beginner's (bad) luck?  :::sigh:::

  • Link Media loses clip markers CC (2014)?

Not sure if latest update has anything to do with this, but when I re-imported a clip to my Premiere CC (2014) project, I lost my clip markers.  (I had to move the media to a new drive.)  Link Media re-imports the clips just fine, but all the markers are gone.  This happens whether I link to the missing media at the startup screen, or whether I do it clip by clip, or whether I use Replace Footage.
I'm on a Mac (as you can see).  Anyone have any thoughts?

I am having the same problem; both Premiere and Audition are CC 2014 versions. The clip is output as a.wav file to an Adobe Audition Interchange folder, but isn't opening Audition. Doing it outside the dynamic link all works of course but not as it did with CS6. I am calling the video clips from an external drive; I am wondering if I need to have all the working files within the same folder on the same drive? I shouldn't have to, of course, but maybe this is a bug that has crept into this version.

  • Missing Media - Old Thumbnail Cache?

    Hi Gang
Somehow I have the missing media warning, but in actuality, the clips play and export just fine. I think I may have confused FCP after a backed up all my media with Super Duper to another drive
I remember reading somehere, it was suggested to trash the old Thumbnail Cache Files? (since I assume the warning is in error?)
    http://www.locationstudio.net/missing-media.jpg
    Any suggestions?

You can trash the thumbnail cache but chances are that FCP has lost track of the footage and is now just referencing the render files. If you trashed those using Render Manager, you would likely have to reconnect to get the timeline to playback. Probably not a bad idea if you want to re-establish the connections to you clips for the future.

  • How do I re-enable a Multicam clip

I had a multicam clip already created and have edited it into many sequences. I loaded it into my source monitor and accidently unchecked the enable option. Now that same sequence is no longer a mutlicam clip and when I load it into the source montior, my system crashes. Help, is there any way to make it back in to a multicam clip?

Funny because in my timeline, the original multicam clip still showed green, and right clicking it revealed Premiere still considered it as multicam media. But the same clip in the project window did not have a multicam icon. The audio info column still indicated that it was mutlichannel mapped to 2 stereo tho as well! There's no way for me to reenable multicam except from the source window, but loading it there crashed my system.
So I've re-nested the sequence, and enabled multicam in that new nest, and it seems that all the occurances of the old multicam clip are now linked to the new multicam enabled nest! I dont understand it but i guess it works.

  • Modified Files on FCPX... Random files in event folder(that I used to make a multicam clip) become modified and unusable. Is there anything i can do to prevent this?

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, every time I create a multicam clip on FCPX, random files(that were used to make the multicam clip) become modified and unusable(in High Quality). Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
I've tried transcoding, creating proxy media, creating optimized media, plus I've tried none of the above. Thing is, no matter what I do, it still happens(to random files) "after" I make the multicam clip. Is there a setting or something that was accidentally enabled by me or the upgrade?
BTW: Everything seems to work fine when 'playback' is set to proxy. The problem is when I'm ready to export and switch 'playback' to High Quality.

I had this same issue! But fixed it by going into the finder, finding the event, and delted the files out of the "High Quality Media." My project then refreshed to normal and no red modified file slides. The cool part: I din't even shut fcpx down to mess with the files in the finder. It all worked like a charm.
    Good luck!

  • "Missing media usage rights" files won't sync?

Hi. I am trying to sync sound files to my Clip+. Most sync OK, but some (many) will not. The result is the same whether using Windows Explorer to drag and drop the files, or using Windows Media Player to sync them. (I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows Media Player 12.) I believe the problem is related to usage rights. In Windows Media Player, when I view a sync report, right-click on a problem file anc select Propertes, under the Media Usage Rights tab this message appears; "This file is missing media usage rights". Files which have synced successfully show "This file is not protected". Windows Explorer cannot identify the problem files. It simply shows that no files are protected. MediaMonkey is also unable to identify these files when an appropriate script is run. I am able to overcome the issue by using Tunebite to copy the file, but Tunebite's auto-search for DRM-protected files is also unable to identify the problem files. Does anyone know of a way that I can automatically identify the problem files so that I can place them in one folder and quickly run Tunebite on them to fix the problem? I would very much like to avoid having to manually select each file. (I believe I mentioned that there are LOTS of them!) Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Unfortunately, however, none of them work for me. No matter what method I use in Windows Explorer, even after a reboot of the computer with Windows Media Player not started, the transfer of the problem files fails. From my research it does seem to me that the problem lies with the media usage rights. Whenever a file displays the message "This file is missing media usage rights" it won't sync/copy. I have seen suggestions that this message can occur following a change of CPU. I have definitely changed computers since these files were originally created so that might be related to the problem. The actions I have seen recommended as possible solutions haven't worked for me. The only thing that has worked has been to use Tunebite (which can legally remove protection by copying the original file). After running Tunebite on a problem file the media usage rights message reads "This file is not protected" and I can sync it correctly with the Clip+. Unfortunately - unless anyone has any other suggestions - I may have to run Tunebite on all my music files. That will be pretty fiddly and time consuming if I am to preserve my setup. If anyone has any other thoughts please post them. Thank you.
