Missing message: Selection completed

Hi,
I'm loading from the source system, but it does not send a message over to the BW system telling that the selection has ended. I have check the job in the source system and it's completed but while on the bw side, it's still waiting for a selection completed message to complete the whole data load.
Does anyone has clue what is this happening? It works fine in the Development and Quality System, but this problems occurs in the production system.
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
CK

Hi CK Tan,
Please check the Idoc status of ARFCSTATE at job details in the source system side.
If ARFCSTATE  = RECORDED is that packet is arrived in the bw System
If ARFCSTATE  = CPICERR that data packet was not arrived in the system.
For every data packet it will genera the result of ARFCSTATE at job details...
By seeing the job details you can analyze weather your data has uploaded successfully in to BW system or not..

  • Missing messages: Selection completed

    Hi
We are extracting data from R/3 to BW using custom extractor which is used function module.  Data is coming to BW and we could see same number of records as R/3 in PSA .The problem is in the detail tab of RSMO under extraction missing messages “Missing messages: Selection Completed” shows yellow and the extractor job in R/3 side shows active and we could see in SM51 it’s running and accessing ROIS table. When we go and check in ROIS table we didn’t see our Info source over there. Is this the problem? Don’t know how it related to Missing messages issue.
Note: We checked RFC Connection, short dumps, TRFC logs, ALE Management, system logs and all.
    Appreciate help.
    Thanks

  • Error when extracting data from ETL - Missing messages and missing InfoIdoc

    Hi All,
We are using BW 3.0 and extracting data from other source systems through Informatica Powercenter (ETL). The system is working fine but when we try to extract data on 31st Dec , we get the following error. Only this load gives the error and all the other load to other data targets are going fine. All the data are one-to-one mapped from ETL to BW.
Error messages from Monitor -Status tab:-
       "InfoIdocs missing; external system
Diagnosis :- InfoIDocs are missing. The IDocs are created in BW with non-SAP systems as source
systems that transfer the data and metadata to BW using BAPIs. Since the IDocs are missing, a
short dump in BW probably occurred.
System response:  No selection information arrived from the source system"
Error messages from Monitor -Details tab:-
Missing message: Number of sent records,   Missing message: Selection completed
    Highly appretiate your suggestions.

    Hi Rathy Moorthy,
Thank you very much for your reply. The source system connections are OK and we are able to load data to other Data targets from ETL, we have issue only with this this particular load. The load extracts data and I have loaded the data from ETL to PSA and have checked the data content and it is correct. But when I update the same data to the target I get this error. I have also tried to update from PSA to target and also directly from ETL to target.
    Appretiate your suggestions.

  • Unable to perform the request error while selecting completed tasks in UWL

    Hi,
When user is selecting the Completed Task in the UWL, the below error is displaying
error: Unable to perform the request. Try again and if the problem persists, inform your system administrator.
While selecting completed tasks in the drop down, it is showing "Completed Tasks(30)". But after selecting "Completed Tasks(30)" from the drop down, the above error message is getting.
    How can we resolve this??
Note: We are using EP 7.0 SP 17. When I checked in sdn, I found that there is a problem with completed tasks earlier to sp14. But in SP14, this issue was fixed. But why we are facing this issue?

  • R/3 extraction - Missing Messages:No data from Update rules

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I'm into the process of R/3 extraction into BW for 0PUR_O01 . The Datasource we r using is 2LIS_02_ITM. The Sceduled infopackage still runs for over 12 hrs. We are getting the typical Missing Messages error. Its in the yellow status with one out of 3 data packets showing Everythin OK.While the other two are "Warning Received".
PSA and Transfer rules have all the records . But Update rules show 11339 --> 0 records. Please suggest what has to be done to move forward. We have checked and there is no dump in ST22. Also its shows 11339 to 0 in start routine of Update rules. I m giving out all possible hints so that it might help giving in a wide variety of suggestions . Please do suggest a way forward.

    Hi,
Try if this works for you.
In this case you can execute the LUWs to get the missing data into BW. Here is the procedure.
    1. Go to manage data target  Monitor OR directly go to Monitor for request that failed
    2. Select: Environment  Transact RFC  In the Data Warehouse
    3. Enter the selection criteria Date and User TCODE and execute
    4. Select EDIT  Execute LUW
This will restart the loading process only for the data package that failed because of space issues or some server problems thereby avoiding the necessity of reloading the entire request.
    Hope this info helps you.

  • Message selection

    guys,
i have a query, i have to develop an application for a bank where the requirement is such that i need to send messages to several subscribers, but not all the messages be sent to all subscribers. What i mean to say is, messages are to be sent to a particular subscriber based upon the criteria set by the subscriber. this criteria is set by the subscriber and is based on his requirement. as far as i know, message selection can be done through message selectors only. how could message be sent to a particular subscriber based upon what he wants to receive depending upon what content is being sent in the message, can somebody help me out in resolving this issue, or tell me if i am wrong anywhere in the concept of message selector. thanks in advance for your kind help
    james

    Paul,
Please read on for my comments .....
First off. JMS does not specifically state aproperty
value needs to be a String. A property value can be
any one of the JMS primitive types. In my 1stexample
BVAL would clearly have been a float, something far
more efficient than a Java string. That's absolutely correct.
I fail to see why a dictionary containingkey/value
data is any different to an XML document containing
elements, attributes and respective values. As far as the data being published is concered, what
    you
are saying is correct. If a piece of information can
    be
represented by an xml, it can be represented by a
    Dictionary
as well. In other words, the dictionary approach works
perfectly well for the publisher side of the
    application.
However, how does one set a message selector on a JMS
    consumer
based on what's inside the dictionary object? A JMS
    vendor is
only expected to look into message properties while
    checking
for message selection and not inside an Object
    property.
Of course, a JMS Provider is free to come up with
    proprietary
methods that allow consumers to specify selection
    criterion
based on what's coming in a Dictionary Object.
    However, XML
and XPath is a standard that fits the bill perfectly
    and hence
is an obvious choice. This is exactly what Fiorano
    did.
As a subscriber in both scenarios you need
to have an understanding of what it is you arelooking
for. Agreed. However, the publisher should not be forced to
    know
what are all the consumers looking for. The fact that
    a publisher
sets message properties in outgoing message requires
    it to
be aware of the fact that interested consumers will be
    looking
out for this particular property. A change in
    consumer's selector
requires an appropriate change in the publisher.
    Hence, a publisher
and a subscriber are not completely de-coupled from
    each other.
As I have stated many times before the common
denominator between a subscriber and a publisher isa
queue or topic, the 2 remain decoupled. The above is fine as long as there are no message
    selection
rules on the consumer. See note above.
JMS selectors work out well only where this setof
message selectors on a topic is finite and is not
    expected to grow in future.
This I suspect is a result of poor implementation. This has nothing to with implementation. Consider an
    ever
growing consumer list where each consumer has a
    different
type of selector involving a different property name.
    I
have already stated an example of such a requirement
    in
my earlier post. How do you propose to build such a
    system
    with standard JMS selectors?
    Guneet,
The last thing I want to do is help you, the other people at Fiorano or the people at Modena fix up your product.
Performance tells all and therefore implementation clearly does have something to do with it. Unfortunately for legal reasons we can no longer talk about performance comparisons.
I respectfully suggest that this thread end here.

    Paul Brant

  • IMAP message list and search missing messages

I access an IMAP server from my MacBook and iPad. When I look in folders on the server other than the inbox, the MacBook shows all the messages but the iPad is missing many. When I compare the two, the iPad has all, one-for-one, for the past four days or so. Before that, the list on the iPad is spotty. I have touched the update and download more messages buttons.
Searching on the iPad also misses messages, but different ones. I can search on the iPad for messages I see on the Mac, and sometimes find them, although they don't show up in the message list (for example, the message from about five days ago, immediately before the last message which shows up consistently on both the Mac and iPad). In other cases, I can do a search on the Mac and iPad, and the Mac will show more hits from the search than the iPad.
So, mail on the iPad, at least with an IMAP server, is unreliable. Is this well-known? Will this improve on iOS 4.2?
    Thanks for your help,
    ==Leonard

I did an experiment with the IMAP server I have which stores the mail in mbox format in the home directory of the Linux server I have a login to. I can drag messages in any order I want from the inbox to a folder, and can verify that in the mbox file, they are stored in the order I dragged them in. Yes, those messages are shown in the iPad message list in chronological order, regardless of the order I dragged them into the folder.
But, earlier messages are not shown in the iPad message list in the order they are in the mbox file or chronological order. Well, they are in chronological order, but with big time gaps. For example, the iPad shows a message from April 6 followed by April 1. But, I can see on my Mac that I have many messages between April 1 and 6. They do not appear on the iPad.
Ah, I think I see something. Some of the messages in this mailbox are log files with timestamps at the beginning of the line. The iPad mail program appears to be taking the time from the first line in the body of the message rather than the timestamp in the mail message envelope.
No, it just got stranger. I selected another mailbox, and then went back to the mailbox with the log files I was looking at before and the order of messages has changed! Now there are messages from May where there were messages from April. Still might be the timestamps in the body of the message because those are the first messages shown in the list after the last non-log-file messages.
Now there are messages missing between April 30 and May 4, where I can see that the messages exist by looking in the Mac mail program. I can see that all the missing messages on the iPad are the ones for which the body starts with a timestamp.
Perhaps the iPad has trouble with an IMAP server using mbox format.
Another complication in my case is that the messages in the mbox file are not stored in the order they were received. I suspect this is because I copied them there, using Apple Mail, from previously being stored on my Mac. That is, I had all my mail On My Mac, and then selected all the messages in the folder and dragged them to the IMAP server folder. That put them into the mbox file in an unusual order. But, on the Mac, they show chronologically, regardless of the order stored in the file.
The iPad also does this, for recent messages (which don't contain those log files with timestamps), but the timestamps in the body of the message may be confusing it.

  • How to reinsert missing messages

    Greetings,
I use a PowerBook Pro (Intel) running OS 10.4.9. I also use dot Mac and have my e-mail set as IMAP. About a week ago, there was some issue with dot Mac that resulted in some missing e-mail.
I have a backup, but I do not use the Apple backup software; instead, I just copy my entire user folder to my external LaCie drive. I have located my mail folder and found the missing messages. When I click on one of them, the mail application opens so I can read it, but I cannot save it into a folder within Mail. I can copy the missing e-mails to the folder location on the hard drive, but the mail does not show up, and I cannot use import because it says the file type is not recognized.
How can I get my e-mail back into the Mail program? Please Help!
Power Book Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hello Ricky & Judy.
You can restore those messages by importing the mailboxes from the backup. Problem is, Mail cannot import cached server-stored *.imapmbox mailboxes directly; only locally stored *.mbox mailboxes.
However, if Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Keep copies of messages for offline viewing is set to All messages and their attachments (the default setting), then Mail 2.x caches server-stored mailboxes using the exact same format it uses for locally stored mailboxes, except the suffix of the mailbox folder in the filesystem is .imapmbox instead of .mbox.
Hence, if Keep copies of messages for offline viewing was set to All messages and their attachments throughout the lifetime of the mailboxes (or since before the last rebuild), *.imapmbox mailboxes can be imported back into Mail as if they were locally stored mailboxes by just renaming them so that the suffix is .mbox instead of .imapmbox — note that this wasn’t the case in Mail 1.x; that version used entirely different formats for *.mbox and *.imapmbox mailboxes.
Note also that, after doing File > Import Mailboxes and choosing Mail for Mac OS X, Mail wants you to select the folder that contains the mailboxes to be imported (i.e. the folder where the *.mbox folders to be imported reside), not the *.mbox folders themselves nor the Messages folders within them. If you select the wrong folder, Mail says “No valid Mail for Mac OS X files were found” because it cannot find any *.mbox folders within the folder you’re selecting.

  • Missing Messages during Dataloading

    Hi all,
We are currently loading up the production system in preparation for Go Live. We noticed that our delta extractions were not getting activated in the PSA as there were missing messages. On further investigation, we realised that all our loadings were missing a subsequent update message. Pls refer to the attached screenshot. This is happening for three of our ODSes, ZO_SALES, ZO_DELIV, ZO_BILLG, loaded from standard extractors 2LIS_11_VAITM, 2LIS_12_VCITM and 2LIS_13_VDITM respectively. There are no error messages and the overall status of the loading is green, hence we did not realise this until almost all our data was loaded and we started doing our deltas.
Also, for our delta from 2LIS_12_VCITM to ZO_DELIV, we've had to manually change the status to green before we can proceed. It looks as though all the data is extracted, the only thing missing is once again the messages. Please see the attached screenshots on the second page.
Has anybody encountered this before? Any idea what is causing the messages not to come? It is only these 3 ODSes that are facing these issues, thanks.
    Kanan.

    Hi Kanan,
    >>We are currently loading up the production system in preparation for Go Live. We noticed that our delta extractions were not getting activated in the PSA as there were missing messages.<<
<i> If the extraction terminates due to an unhamdled exception then u will be "missing messages". Check for any shortdumps in ST22.
    </i>
    >>"Also, for our delta from 2LIS_12_VCITM to ZO_DELIV, we've had to manually change the status to green before we can proceed. It looks as though all the data is extracted, the only thing missing is once again the messages. Please see the attached screenshots on the second page."<<
<i>How do you say that extraction completed? did you check the extraction job in R3 and it was complete?? if not, you might be missing some data!</i>

    Hi,
    Transact RFC error
tRFC Error - status running Yellow for long time (Transact RFC will be enabled in Status tab in RSMO).
Step 1:  Goto Details, Status get the IDoc number, and go to BD87 in R/3,place the cursor in the RED IDoc entroes in tRFC
queue thats under outbound processing and click on display the IDOC which is on the menu bar.
Step 2: In the next screen click on Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call)
place the cursor on the particular Transaction ID and go to EDIT in the menu bar --> press 'Execute LUW'
(Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call) ---> select the TrasnID ---> EDIT ---> Execute LUW)
Rather than going to SM58 and executing LUW directly it is safer to go through BD87 giving the IDOC name as it will take you
to the particular TRFC request for that Idoc.
    OR
Go into the JOB Overview of the Load there you should be able to find the Data Package ID.
(For this in RSMO Screen> Environment> there is a option for Job overview.)
This Data Package TID is  Transaction ID in SM58.
    OR
SM58 > Give * / user name or background  (Aleremote) user name and execute. It will show you all the pending TRFC with
    Transaction ID.
In the Status Text column you can see two status
    Transation Recorded and Transaction Executing
Don't disturb, if the status is second one Transaction Executing. If the status is first one (Transation Recorded) manually
    execute the "Execute LUWs"
    OR
Directly go to SM58 > Give * / user name or background  (Aleremote) user name and execute. It will show TRFCs to be executed
for that user. Find the particular TRFC (SM37 > Req name > TID from data packet with sysfail).select the TrasnID (SM58) --->
    EDIT ---> Execute LUW
    Thanks,

  • Errors Occured or missing messages

I have a cube which has a red request 'Errors occured or Missing Messages' any ideas to resolve this one?

Did the request turn RED on its own due to timeout settings or did you manually turn it red ? Missing messages usually indicate that there is a process still running and the completion message is not returned by the system.
In the details tab, check the status of each package. Also you can find where the process is stuck...is it in transfer rules / update rules or post processing...
If the request turned red due to timeout setting, then just repeat the delta and you delete the failed reqeust from the cube.
    Good luck!

  • I have a blank screen that says "no message selected" on mail

when i try to get my mail the screen is empty except for a message in the middle "no message selected".  everything seems frozen becuse if i tap "all mailboxes"  nothing happens.  i can not get off the screen unless  i go back to may screen with all the icons on it.  mail was working fine a few hrs ago

Try closing the Mail app completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • The message not completely displayed in validation

    Hi,
I have created a new step in validation; this is when the post document without entering Reference key 1 (XREF1) will pop up this error message
in the message i have given " Select a valid value into the field &" and in message variable given BESG-XREF1.
but when the trying to post with no value in reference key 1, i am getting only the message "Select a valid value into the field"
and the character '&' is not replaced by field BSEG-XREF1.
what could be the reason for it.
    thanks in advance,
    Shwetha

    Dear,
    This is correct.
& is variable. BSEG-XREF1 is used as variable, if this field is blank then message will be displayed as & only.
For e.g if validation is set for company code and business are. Company code ABCD one thousand can not post business are other that 1000. And I have written a message Company Code & is not allowed to use business area & if business area is other than 1000 for company code ABCD.
    In variables.
    1. BSEG-BUKRS
    2. BSEG-GSBER
Now when company code ABCD use business are 3000 then message will be displayed
Company Code ABCD is not allowed to use business area 3000.
In your case BSEG-XREF1 is blank so system is showing no value (&)
Your message should be Select a valid value into the reference field
