Missing microsoft patches

Looks like since may 8 microsoft patches are not showing correctly in zcc as patched or unpatched, all workstations show zeros for both counts. Other products, adobe, apple etc have released patches since may 8 and patched/unpatched stats are populating in PM. If I look in the debug.log file for a patch released on may 14 (ex KB2829361) the entry is found for MS13-046 KB2829361.pls. The servers are version 11.1a, managed devices range from 10.2.2 up to 11.1a and all have this issue with Microsoft patches. Anyone else seen this behavior ?

Yes, sometimes this happends - looks like it thinks the patch is there
but it's not. Easy workaround though...

  • Missing Baseline Patches

    Hi Guys,
We have just started testing with ZCM Patch Management and experience a problem with our Baselinepatches. We are currenly at ZCM 10.3.2. and clients are Windows XP SP3 and have the Adaptive Agent 10.3.2.41992. What is happening is that we started testing with a small Baseline of 26 Microsoft Critical patches which is applied to a testgroup. These 26 critical Microsoft patches all show as vulnerabilties for these clients.
This testgroup has about 10 clients as members. Of these 26 patches only 13 are being implemented at these clients, the other 13 patches are never installed at these clients.
We have no problems with the Patch Management Process itself. The subscription service is working fine and is scheduled daily. The Discover Applicable Updates Windows-x86-nl-XPsp3 Patch Bundle is working, Patch Managemement is running on the clients and the Clients get the Fingerprints correctly which are being presented in ZCC in the Patches Tab of the Workstation objects.
The 26 mentioned Baseline patches are:
    1. MS 940289 (Dutch) Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1
    2. MS 942288 Windows Installer 4.5 (All Languages)
    3. MS 953331 (Dutch) Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 2 (Rev 2)

    25. MS11-014 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2478960)
    26. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Of these, the following 13 patches are never installed on these clients:
    12. MS10-096 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2423089)
    13. MS10-097 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2443105)

    23. MS11-012 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2479628)
    24. MS11-013 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2478971)
    25. MS11-014 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2478960)
These 13 patches remain visible in ZCC in the Patches tab of the devices with a Green color and the status "Not Patched". I also checked the status of the missing Patches locally on the clients, they are definitive not installed locally. We tried Multiple refreshes of the Adaptive Agent, used the "Recalculate Baseline" option multiple times and tried clean imaging and a clean import in the zone of these clients. Just waiting for a few days to see if the process is running later makes no difference. We also tried the "Update cache" options several times for these 13 patches in ZCC.
I noticed the following things on the clients:
    1. In the "Bundles" option of the properties of the Adaptive Agent on these clients the missing patches are not shown.
    2. I checked the c:\program files\Novell\zenworks\zpm folder on the clients and noticed that for all the 26 Patches the corressponding .PLS files are present. For the 13 Patches that are being installed i also noticed a corresponding .pls_results.txt files which has only one line: SUCCES. For the 13 missing patches no such files exists.
So we do not seem to be able to install these critical Microsoft Patches on the clients. Does anyone has any suggestions we could try?
Thanking you in advance for your suggestions,

  • SRM catalog navigation fails after Microsoft patch KB2416400

After applying Microsoft patch KB2416400, displaying catalogs is failing in IE7 and IE8. Getting the "Navigation to the webpage was canceled"... If you uninstall the patch, it will fix the issue in IE7. I have already reviewed the settings found in OSSN 1511147, which has not solved the issue when the patch is applied. Has anyone else applied this IE security patch and experienced similar results? We are on SRM7.0, SP05 - EP and catalogs both using https. Thanks.

    Hi Kris,
we found a solution. Please look in SAP Note 1456162.
The note was written for IE 8, but it looks that the MS patch KB2416400 provides the same security measure also for IE 7.
IE7 does not allow the dynamic rendering of html by the outbound handler after the patch.
    Cheers,

We have developed an application that uses Weblogic 6.1 and JCOM. This application developed in VC++ uses JCOM's zero client approach to access EJBs deployed on Weblogic. It was working fine.
But, after installing Microsoft patch 'Windows2000-KB835732-x86-ENU.EXE' on PC, our application is not able to connect to JCOM.
Can anybody throw some light on what could have been impacted beacuse of this Microsoft patch.

  • How to find which server is missing a Patch

So I have a SharePoint 2010 Farm with 10 Servers.  I have been put in charge of making sure all the servers are patched and updated.  I love how SharePoint 2010 has the page:
    http://Server:880/_admin/PatchStatus.aspx.
However, looking at this page each server has about 100 patches.  Scrolling through this list is difficult to see if one of the servers is missing a patch or has patches that other servers do not.
Now researching this almost all the answers point to using SCOM.  However, I do not have access to SCOM and our company is cheap and does not want to get it.
Is there a way to export the information on the PatchStatus.aspx page in Central Admin to and excel spreadsheet?
Or does anyone see a script that can be used to find the information I need?
Thank you for any help you can give.
    [email protected]

Unfortunately I can not.  We are on a closed network for our Sharepoint servers.
But its great to hear that I can write a script to read the PatchStatus.aspx page!
Do you have any reference materials I can read to accomplish this goal.   So far I have not been able to find which commands will read the information.

  • How could I know whether Microsoft patch need reboot or not ?

  • Microsoft Patches for Call Manager

    HELP !!
Where do I find the "approved" Microsoft patches for CCM4.x please ?
    Regards
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
You will need a valid CCO account (which I guess you've already got). Then just go to the support section on the Cisco website, choose "download software", then just specify your CCM version etc. and you will see all the patches available.
Cisco guarantees that they will release any critical operating system patch within 24 hours of the Microsoft announcement. Noncritical patches are rolled up into a monthly update.

  • Recent Microsoft Patch

    Hello Everyone,
I believe Microsoft may have released a patch that has knackered my applets database connection.
It was working fine for a long time and the only thing that's changed on the clients machine is that some security patches from Microsoft have been installed. Java still works but the database connection fails.
I am using a JDBC-ODBC bridge from Easysoft and it has been working for well over a year with no problems.
I have taken the problem up with Easysoft and they had the same problem after installing some patches.
They solved it by installing the latest Sun JRE (1.4.2_04) but this didn't work on the clients machine because he already had this version and we tried uninstalling and re-installing but this didn't help!!!
Has anyone got any idea which patch might have caused this problem, (I think it might have come out a few weeks ago) and anyone got any idea how to get it working again?
    Any help is most apprieciated.
    Alastair.

    Hi Duffymo,
    Thanks for your reply.
Whilst it is possible that a Type IV driver may solve this problem, this isn't a viable option for us at the moment as we have over 30 e-commerce websites which have been working for several years, all of which use MS Access databases and the Easysoft JDBC-ODBC Bridge. To change all this when what we have should be working isn't something I can really do at the moment.
The driver we are using is a type III driver which I believe only uses ODBC calls at the server end (which hasn't changed). Is this right?
I'm not 100% sure how the data gets to and from the server
I assume it's like the following. Please let me know if I'm missing something.
    1) the Applet sends/receives data with the Sun JRE (1.4.2_04).
    2) the Sun JRE (1.4.2_04) uses the client side of the JDBC-ODBC Bridge (which is part of the applet code) to communicate with the server side of the JDBC-ODBC Bridge.
    3) the server side JDBC-ODBC Bridge sends/receives data with the Native ODBC manager (MS stuff on the server)
4)the Native ODBC manager sends/receives data with database (MS Access)
The problem would appear to be on the client side (1 & 2) as some machines work fine and only some patched clients seem to have problems.
If the only solution to this kind of problem is to use different databases then what would you suggest as an alternative to MS Access? This is a last resort but still has to be considered.
At Easysoft they installed a later version of the JRE (1.4.2_04) over the top of the one there already (1.4.1... I think) which solved this problem.
But the machine I am trying to get working already had 1.4.2_04 on and un-intalling and re-installing it had no effect.
Have you got any idea why this might happen?
    Alastair.

  • Can't create a WPA2-Enterprise wireless connection; missing Microsoft: PEAP

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise
    Hardware: Lenovo T410S w/Intel 5300 ABGN Wireless
If I try to build the wireless connection manually and choose WPA2-Enterprise, then click next, I get 'An unexpected error occurred.' and no options to configure; just close.
I then tried to create a Preshared Key WPA2 connection. This worked fine. When I go to edit the connection, I have the ability to select the WPA2-Enterprise options, however in the list of Network Authentication methods (under Security Tab), I don't have
the Microsoft: PEAP or SmartCard options. I only have Cisco: LEAP,PEAP,EAP-FAST and Intel: EAP-SIM,EAP-TTLS,EAP-AKA (6 entries).
It's my theory that because the Microsoft options are missing, the wizard gets the unexpected error. I'm wondering how I get the MS ones back.

  • Sales office data missing after patching in CRM

    Hi,
We have CRM 4.0 for internet sales.
Recently, we patched our Development and QA CRM systems from SAPKU40009 to
    SAPKU40016.
Immediately after the patching, we see that the Sales office information in the BP (Sales area- organization tab) is missing.  We have only one Sales org and Dist channel with division not active. All the sales office belong to the same sales org. Nothing has changed w.r.t org model before and after patching and all the org units are checked for determintation.
Everything was working before the patching. Just after patching, we find the sales office information blanked out in the BP and as well as the drop down list is empty.
I can see the sales office table entries for all the BPs in CRMM_BUT_SET0140. But when ichange the BP data (for some other field) and save, the table entries get deleted as i am not able to assign the sales office any more.
We have not buffered the attributes. I tried that also and ran the report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE, but it is of no use.
    Can somebody help?
    Thanks
    Shankar

    Hi ,
    What you can do is,
Create a request for a material whose Sales Area data is missing in
CRM , and perform the request load in transaction:R3AR4.
And please check whether sales area data flows to CRM.
Put a filter in txn:R3AC1, to download single material or material
range. And before performing an initial load in txn:R3AS,please make
sure that sales area data is missing in CRM.Now, perform the initial
load in txn:R3AS.And please check whether sales area data flows to
    CRM.
Check the  filter settings in transaction R3AC1 for
object MATERIAL and please make sure that it would bring down all
the expected materials from R/3 along with the sales area data. I guess there is some
filter setting which is blocking it.
Please check the entries you have maintained in table MVKE - the entries
