Missing Multimedia Video Controller

In the last few days I reinstalled my comupter and now the multimedia video controller driver is missing. I have made a recovery disc before reinstalling, but it is not working now. Are there any drivers I can download online from the site or somewhere else? Please respond ASAP if you have any suggestions or answers. Thank you!

  • Re: Qosmio G20 - multimedia video controller installation

    Hi friends
    I have tried to install my Qosmio G20 Windows XP (MCE) with PCI device ..
    PCI multimedia video controller.
    USB device.
    I installed it manually and mapped the driver path to "C:/ tools cd "
    It gives me an reply that the no driver is found for the device and get finished..
    So what I am suppose to do now and make it work...
    tanx in advance

    If you ran Toshiba Recovery, then the drivers should be in C:\TOSAPINS
    But running recovery should install all the required drivers automatically.
    I am guessing that its the TV Tuner, so go to the Toshiba website and install the TV Tuner Driver.
    If that doesnt work, tell us the VEN and DEV numbers
    For XP: Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager.
    For Vista: Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager.
    Right-Click on the Unknown Device, and select "Properties".
    Go to the "Details" Tab, select "Device Instance ID" or "Hardware Ids" in the dropdown list.
    You will see something like PCI\VEN_????
    The VEN_ number is the Vendor or Manufacturer. For example:
    8086 = Intel
    10EC = Realtek
    168C = Atheros
    14E4 = Broadcom
    1022 = AMD
    1106 = VIA
    11AB = Marvell Yukon

  • Qosmio F20-136 multimedia video controller not working

    In control panel hardware- multi media video controller has the yellow question mark. Also in MCE i get a message saying TV tuner hardware or drivers not working.
    I have reinstalled from the recovery disks and installed all updates to MCE 2005 including net.1.1 sp1 and rollup. In control panel hardware there is no entry for TV tuner.
    In tools the tv tuner driver is shown as installed.
    Any advice would be welcome.\ This is a new machine just purchased so it may be a hardware problem

    Hi
    As far as I know you will not find any tuner entries in the control panel.
    In the control panel you can find the graphic card option like nView desktop manager of nVidia Geforce.
    The TV tuner driver is important to receive the signals in MCE
    However, if the yellow exclamation mark appears in the device manager so I assume the driver fails or is wrong. You should try updating it. Please note that on the driver page you will find driver for WinXP and for WinXP MCE.

  • Multimedia Audio Controller, and Video Controller(VGA compatible) are missing on Windows XP(32Bit) SP3

    Hi.
    My Desktop Computer(Intel P 4, 512MB of RAM, and Graphics Card  with 256MB of RAM)
    Also, My Desktop Computer with P 4 doesn't have any access internet since there is no network adapter is installed. As a result, I would not be able to run the pc scan utility, or  Reader a web-based applet that identifies my GPU or Audio controller
    and finds the latest graphics driver for my GPU, and Audio.
    I have two Windows XP installations:
    Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is old and it seems it infected by some viruses.
    I have installed another fresh clean Windows XP(32Bit) SP3. However, I have two devices not detected well by Windows XP.
    First of all, when saying that I have multi-operationgs systems, I mean there are two operating systems installed on my PC(SP2, SP3) both are 32Bit. The first Windows SP2(NOT installed by me) has all multimedia audio card installed well,
    and has SCSI and RAID Host Controller shown the device manager. However, only the VGA is not installed on Windows SP2. However, the second one Windows SP3(Installed by me) has VGA not installed, Multimedia audio NOT installed, and there is no SCSI and RAID
    Host Controller in device manager.
    First:  Yes, my motherboard has integrated video, and integrated audio card
    According to the screen shots above, then
    The vendor ID of Multimedia Audio Controller  is 8086 and the device ID is
    24D5.
    The vendor ID of Video Controller  is 8086 and the device ID is
    2572.
    I AM EXPECTING THAT KNOWING THE VENDOR ID AND THE DEVICE ID WILL LET ME QUICKLY FIND THE APPROPRIATE  DRIVER. HOWEVER, I COULDN'T FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER.
    Thus, could you please help me to find them?
    I have tried installing a soundMAX card  driver, however, I found this error.
    I have checked the other Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is oder installed, and it seems it infected by some viruses.
    However, the Multimedia Audio on that Windows is installed well. As here: I only posted these screen shots to show what kind of device is Multimedia Audio Card

  • Missing Driver For Video Controller

    my laptop's model no. is toshiba satellite pro l510. I have windows 7 installed in my laptop . my videos on my laptop was working fine till yesterday but sudeenly my vlc crashed and other video players were also crashing so i tried to update the display driver but couldn't so i unistalled it . But now i'm trying to reinstall it but the driver is not installing . also in the device manager i am unable to find the display adapter icon. and i'm getting a yellow colour icon in my other devices option in the device manager saying video controller (vga compatible)when i'm double clicking it , it says "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
    To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver" i'm not able to find the right drivers for my laptop . alll the drivers i've downloaded are not installing or hasn't heldped. plzz help..

    The CRC mismatch error means a system file or a registry entry doesnt match what windows or the driver is expecting. In some cases a simple chkdsk or a registry cleaner will solve the problem and in some cases a full restore is needed. Click the start button.Right click my computer.Select Properties -> Tools -> Check Now -> Start -> Schedule Disk Check -> Next Boot -> Restart PC I would also advise running a registry cleaner like ccleaner to check for errors.http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Regsitry Tab -> Scan For Issues -> Wait until done -> Fix Selected Issues. While you are in there you should go ahead and run the regular cleaner to, but thats up to you.Cleaner -> Run Cleaner

  • Soundblaster Live! Platinum, Windows XP SP2 & "Multimedia Audio Controller" w/Yellow Question M

    I am setting up a brand new PC, but using some old trusted parts, like my SB Li've! Platinum, with the Li've Dri've.
    In the past, setting up with Windows XP w/SP never resulted in any problems. I would have the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe file on CD and once I booted to the Windows Desktop, I could browse the CD, install the drivers without incident.
    Enter Windows XP w/SP2 ... this is a fresh install with SP2 slipstreamed into the install media. This comes direct from Microsoft via MSDN Download, and is not a home grown piece of install media.
    When the installation completes, I have sound, but I also have the following:
    In the Device Manager, under Other Devices, I have an entry for:Multimedia Audio Controller (yellow question mark)
    I also have under Sound, video and game controllers, entries for:Creative SB Li've! (WDM)Creative SBLi've! Gameport
    When I launch the programs in the Sound Blaster Li've! group, I get the following:
    a) Audio HQ"Cannot initialize audio dri've. Reinstall audio driver.
    b) Creative Sound Mixer"CeDevcon.dll has returned an error. Mixer will now exit.
    c) Creative Restore Defaults"There were some errors encountered while restorine your soundcard's settings. Some settings could not be restored.

  • Multimedia Audio Controller Er

    For some reason after I formatted my hard dri've, the sound card isn't recognized. There is no little speaker in the system tray and no sound options at all. I don't have the driver cd. The model number is sb0220. It is a Sound Blaster Li've 5. Digital. What do i do to get rid of the error and have sound? Thank you.

    I realize that this is an old post but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction... I was trying to clean up my add/remove programs and i had meant to hit the one above but some how i got rid of the Multimedia Audio Controller ... I have SoundBlaster Audigy 2. this card was installed because the computer had come with a sound card built in on the motherboard and kid broke off the end of the plug in the headset/speaker thingie.
    I cannot find my disks (we moved since I instlaled and cant find a blessed thing). How do I get this device working again... Right now its showing up under other devices with big ? ... says Multimedia Audio Controller.
    On my add/remove list it shows the CREATIVE MEDIASOURCE (which was RIGHT below the accidentally removed item) and then much further down I see that SOUND BLASET AUDIGY 2 is still installled. In my Device Manager I have listed the following (Somebelong to that sound card on the motherboard I am sure)
    Audio Codecs
    Intel(r)8280BA/BAM AC97 Controller
    Legacy Audio Drivers
    Legacy Videio Capture Devces
    Media Control Devices
    Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device
    Video Codec
    PLEASE tell me how to get this Multimedia Audio Controller reinstalled so I can again use my SB Audigy 2 card (since I cant use the other with that darn plug stuck inside). I have tried to upgrade the SB Audigy 2 drivers but that didnt seem to work.
    I would be most grateful to whomever may be able to help me with this problem!

    When i ran a  troubleshooter, to see if there were any files I should install, i got an error message:

    In device manager, below the sound video and game controlers tab, it says Anvsoft virtual sound device.

  • Feature Request: Option to Not Autohide Video Controller

    Curently, when you enable the built in video controller it will auto-hide when the cursor is not over the movie. I'd like to request you make the autohide feature a checkbox option in the Video properties area and have the video controller stay on the screen as the default behavior. Here's why.
    When students come to a sheet with an enbedded video, they have no idea it's a video unless they accidentially move the cursor over the video area. It would be great to have the video controller always visible to let users know there is a video on the sheet, and would save developers some time from having to add instructions on the sheet to play the video. I'd like to remove any/all confusion the students might have in using content built by ROME.
    Thanks.
    David Egbert

    Thanks David! This is now added to the feature request list.

  • Vga video controller

    I "lost" the VGA Video Controller for my HP DC5800 small factor computer. Tried the download sites, but nothing works. Please advise if anyone has a site where I can download this. Thanks

    Hi:
    Below is the link to the support and driver page for your PC.
    You will have to know if you have the onboard Intel graphics or one of the optional graphics cards in order to install the correct graphics driver as well as the operating system you are using.
    If you are running windows 7 and have the onboard Intel graphics, manually install the Windows Vista driver.

  • Video Controller Failure.

    After a couple of months of kernel panics, freezing, etc., a Hardware Test finally produced the sad conclusion that the NVIDIA 8600M GT video controller in my MBP had failed. This is the well documented fault that has been occurring since 2007/2008. My MBP is now just a month short of its fifth birthday so I do not believe I am going to get a free ride. I have contacted my local Apple Reseller in the UK and they advised me a replacement logic board would cost around UK500 pounds. The gentleman also added that this is the last year that parts for this model will available due to its age. I was thinking of a replacement this year as my daughter has been pining for mine for some time.
    Here is the question: does anyone know the cost of a replacement logic board in the US? I shall be there later this year.
    Anyone's thoughts of whether this repair is worthwhile or not would be appreciated. I feel the laptop, given a trouble free run, is good speed and software wise for some time to come. I have just fitted a 1TB hard drive and upgraded to 4MB RAM.
    An unfortunate year for me, I have just had to replace the HD in the family iMac 27 and now this. The first hardware failures on my Macs since I started using them 1986. A good run for my money I feel!!
    Advice please.
    TY

    Too late to help you unfortunately but under European law, Apple must replace faulty hardware components until 6 years after purchase.
