Missing Navigation, Toolbar & Skin

Hi,
I've seen several write-ups regarding this issue, but yet to
find a resolution.
I have generated FlashHelp using RoboHelp x5 and saved to it
a server. Calling it directly from a mapped drive\path on the
server brings up the entire system perfectly. When the page is
called from a virtual directory only the default topic displays.
The other frames that contain the skin, toolbar and navigation show
only an outline which states "click or hit enter to activate".
Clicking or hitting enter only makes the outline of the frame
disappear -- leaving just the default topic information.
I saw technical note: c165998e dated: 03-04-2005 (which is
the version of RoboHelp I am using), but there is no resolution.
Only that it is being looked at. Being from 2 years ago, I was
hoping to find an answer....
I have tried several fixes that were suggested elsewhere:
Adding FlashPlayer to Servers, adding the MIME filetype .fhs to
iis, changing the wf_startpage.js (var
gsActiveSkinFileName="hwcskincurved.fhs" to "...
hwcskinsurved.xml")
Any help/guideance is GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Dawn

Thought I'd post the answer to my question. Yes, the fix was
right in front of my face. The more I thought about it, the more I
realized this couldn't be a RoboHelp issue because it worked
correctly calling the path. The answer did lie in adding the .fhs
mime to iis. Unfortunately the first try didn't work, but on a
second attempt it came up perfectly.
On a side note, thank you to Rick Stone & Peter Grainge
for all the great information, tips/tricks, and everything else you
both have contributed! It has been very helpful!

Just changed my Windows XP PC on which I have been running Firefox for years, for a new PC with Windows 7 Pro.
Installed Firefox on the new PCbut the Navigation Tool Bar looks different (dull grey instead of light) & 'Reload, Stop Reload etc. items are missing.

  • Navigation toolbar is missing scroll feature since updating to 8.0.1 Please help.

I have read through the forums and learned quite a bit about customizing ff.I need an answer to this small yet annoying issue of the missing scroll on my navigation toolbar,drop-down.

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":
    * Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Missing Main/Navigator Toolbar JDEV 904

I would like to know how to reset the look and feel of the Main/Navigator toolbars within JDEV 904. When I select View -> Toolbars - the toolbar is displayed, but only as a bar of one pixel height :(
I have tried to resize/drag n drop/open/close/minimise/maximise this "single pixel bar" - but with no success.
Can someone provide me some pointers on resetting the JDEV gui environment please.
    thanks
    Miles.

    Hi Miles,
This is a known issue with JDeveloper 9.0.5 or earlier when you've terminated JDeveloper forcibly (e.g. killed the process by ctrl-c, task manager or a forced shutdown in Windows) while it's exiting. The cause of the problem is that the ide.properties file in your system directory has been corrupted.
To resolve it, copy ${jdev.home}/jdev/multi/system/ide.properties to ${jdev.home}/jdev/system9.0.4.x.x/
This issue is resolved in 10.1.3 (toolbar items are defined in extension manifests, which not written during termination of the ide).
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • The search function is missing from my navigation toolbar

I have the navigation toolbar checked under the View menu. It shows the regular stuff but to the right of the URL site name it shows a Wikipedia search function. I don't know where that came from but I want my general search function back.

There are two ways I'm aware of where toolbar icons disappear.
One is where you make the window narrower (icons drop off as the window gets too narrow to display them).
If that's not it then it sounds like the toolbar has been customized to remove it. In that case just use View -> Customize Toolbar... and drag whatever icons you like back into the toolbar (or drag off icons you no longer want).

  • Missing Images in Skin

    Hello all,
I am not quite sure if this is the right category, but searching for skin showed the most threads in this one.
I have a skin deployed as jar into an application. The skin is applied correctly to the JSF page and its components, except some images are missing. Checking in the Application Server Navigator the skin jar containing the images is deployed correctly into the application.
I wrote a short script performing an HTTPRequest on every image. These are the results:
    79 requests respond 404
    268 requests respond 200
I did not recognise any pattern whatsoever. The number and files are always the same.
The web.xml states that org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.webapp.ResourceServlet is responsible for loading the resources, so I added the trinidad sources to my application. Debugging an not found request showed that all kind of ResourceLoaders searching for the image unsuccessfully, while the other images are somehow cached.
Does anyone know, why these images are not loaded?

    Update:
I downloaded all available version of the standalone Oracle ADF Faces Skin Editor from here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html
Versions 11.1.2.0 and 11.1.2.1 deploy the skin properly. Means all images are under /META-INF/adf
Versions 11.1.2.2 and 11.1.2.3 show the afore described problems, where some images are not in the correct folder. Additionally the deployment log shows following message twice, which is not shown at all by the older two version:
Archive contains no entry for: resources/skinBundle.class
Seems there was a bug introduced with Version 11.1.2.2. In JDeveloper I only tested with version 11.1.2.3 where the bug exists. Does not have tried with other versions of JDeveloper, yet. Can anyone confirm this bug?

  • None of my installed personas include the navigation toolbar in the theme

Regardless of which persona I have downloaded, none include the persona theme over the navigation toolbar. Instead I have a grey strip from the default skin (just that one toolbar) that cuts through the middle of the theme. I have changed the tabs around from resting on top to the old position underneath without any result. I have tried switching on and off the menu bar option again with no result! I have also tried re-booting... still no result! Until I upgraded to FF4.0 I hadn't used persona's before. An interesting thing is that when I change to a normal theme the bar changes colour! It just doesn't like persona's!

No, what you're experiencing is not normal.
Try booting whilst holding down the Shift key - this will allow you to boot into Safe Mode, disabling third-party kernel extensions, etc. Your Mac will be slow to boot and will operate sluggishly. That's normal. If you can get in using Safe Mode then you have some start-up item that doesn't play well with Mavericks.

  • Navigation toolbar cannot accept flexible space

I customize the navigation toolbar to include a flexible space at the end of the URL field. The purpose is to ensude that all the standard buttons are avaialble to the right of that field. I hit DONE and there is no change to the toolbar other then the 'X" ( stop this site) is missing and not accessible. The "x" become accessible only if I move it to the left of the URL. I can only get 4 radio buttons to the right of the URL??

Have given up and returned to FF 3.6.16. Like the FF4 concept but not ready for launch.

  • How do I restore The mebu bar, navigation toolbar and the address bar?

I simply have no menu bar, navigation toolbar and address bar. I've tried all the usual procedures but I can't get those back.

To restore the menu bar see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Menu+bar+is+missing
Once the menu bar is back, use the Toolbars entry on the View menu to display other toolbars.

  • After upgrading to FF 20.0 (Ubuntu Linux), some of the icons to the right of the Search Box on the Navigation toolbar disappeared - Springpad, Evernote, etc.

After upgrading to FF 20.0 some of the icons (not Favicons) to the right of the Search Box on the Navigation toolbar keep disappearing. The icons are Springpad Clipper extension, Evernote, Ghostery, Greasemonkey, Pocket. Each time I start FF some (or all) of them are missing. I tried a "Reset Firefox". The first time after the reset, after syncing, all the icons appeared. The second time (now) the Springpad icon has disappeared.
