Missing Nike App (even after switching "on")

Hi All,
Firstly i can confirm i have the following:
* iPod touch 2nd, Firmware version 2.2.1 (5H11a)
* The "Nike + iPod" settings panel is present under in the "Settings" app
* and the "Nike + iPod" switch at the top of said settings panel is in the "ON" position
All that said and several reboots and iTunes syncs of the iPod touch later, i still can't see the Nike App on my iPod touch.
I can confirm that i did once have the app when i first got the iPod touch as i remember playing around with it.
Alas, now i actually need it, it is no more.
(And yes i've discounted "Not seeing the wood-for-the-trees" by clearing off a bunch of "dead" apps, but even with only 3 palletes of apps, still not present.)

Ok so the brute force approach was the way to go: Re-install the Firmware.
However, with a clean install and not restoring the backup yet the Nike App was indeed present after turning it on, however after restoring the last backup actually disappeared again!
I can only conclude that in the restore data is a bad setting/thing/evil troll that found it's way back on the device and put it back exactly to how it was before, warts-and-all.
So far, manually restoring each individual app, podcast etc seems to have worked after many subsequent iTunes syncs.

The problems mostly happen when I am using X-Y compare in Library mode. It shows black rectancles over the tops of the sections that contain the photos and these flash. They aren't always the same size, but are only on the top of the section - never big enough to completely cover the photos. Then I get anywhere from one to about four or five extra windows stacked on top of the Lightroom Icon at the bottom of my screen (I use Windows 8) opening and closing, though there isn't enough time for me to click on them and read them because my computer gets so slow that my mouse actin is delayed by a few seconds. I have had used D Link router before, and I faced problems to connect my computer.
Now I bought Netgear, and it shows strongly better than the f.... D Link...
Try:
Settings>>WiFi, and then turn off Ask for Conection;
Or:
Settings>>Privacity, be sure the Location Service is turn on;
Or:
In Settings>>General>>Reset, select "Reset all Adjusts". (Sorry, but it will change some personal adjustments, but will not delete anything at all)

My iPad wont let me install apps even after typing in my password

Yester day i got my ipad mini 2 and signed into my apple account. I go search for an app like youtube and click the "get" button after clicking install they asked my sign in, i click "use existing account" then type in the email and password. then the button just turns back to "get" ! it wont let me get any apps and it doesnt tell me if my password or username is wrong. i type in the worng password to check and it tells me it is wrong. so i type in the correct password and it does nothing. PLease help!

It sounds like you are entering your Apple ID email and password but the Get button just reverts to Get with no error message at all. I would start by quitting the iTunes Store, Settings, and App Store apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
Then sign into your Apple ID in Settings > iTunes and App Stores and try downloading some apps again. That should get you going.

TS3048 unable to connect to keyboard. System does not detect keyboard even after switching on and off. Mouse working fine. Earlier was working fine. Keyboard is not detectable by I mac . Tried a different keyboard same problem.

Changed batteries of keyboard -initially connected but now does not connect. Used a diffeerent keyboard -same result. Keyboard not seen in bluetooth devices.Switching on and off as well as re booting has not helped. Keyboard light continues to blink.

You may also want to try resetting your computer's PRAM and NVRAM.
To resolve this issue:
1. Turn the Apple Wireless Keyboard off.
- For an aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard, hold the keyboard's power button for more than 3 seconds.
- For a white Apple Wireless Keyboard, turn over the keyboard, and turn the power switch to the off position.
2. Click the "Continue" button as the Setup Assistant instructs.
3. Power the Apple Wireless Keyboard back on.
4. Enter the 8-digit passkey and press Return. Important: You MUST press Return after you enter the 8 digit code.

A third party app keeps showing in my podcast app even after restoring as a new phone. Why?

A third party app that I've used for a long time through iTunes to download a specific podcast not available through the iTunes store has gotten a bit messed up. I've used this for 3+ years with no problem. Lately though the name of the podcast will show up as an empty folder even though I've downloaded and synced it up. The episodes may stay for about 24 hours but then the app disappears from inside of iTunes and all the episodes are deleted. I've removed the app, reinstalled it, etc., and the same thing happens. I restored the phone from a back up, same problem. I even set the phone up as new and this same empty folder was on the iPhone immediately. That I don't understand...how is that even possible?
I'm not sure why wiping the phone and setting up as new made the folder appear. Not sure what role, if any, iCloud plays in seeing this sort of app?

I solved this through a combo of reinstalling the app and removing it but the real kicker is to make sure to go into the iPhone if you have any phantom podcasts and go to settings/general/usage/manage storage and see what is there for podcasts. Delete it from this location to start over. I found this file was larger than justified compared to what was in the podcast folder. Somehow this had gotten corrupted.
I'm sharing in case others need a solution. Of course, the one respondent on here already knew this info so this is for all the other folks out there.

Itunes missing required files - even after installing quick time 7

PLEASE help- i have been having so much trouble with itunes lately.
first of all, i can't open itunes because " some of its required files are missing."
so, i reinstall itines with newest version of quick time 7.
when setting up itunes after this installation, a pop up box tells me that "Quick Time installation failed. Error Code: -3"
so, i go to click on itunes 'just to check' and the same "missing files' message appears yet AGAIN.
someone please tlel me what do to next.
i'd greatly appreciate your help!

Missing HD Space even after Erase and Install

Ok, so I own a 2.4GHz MBP, 200GB HD 7,200RPM, 4GB of memory... Penryn model that my brother purchased for the each of us back in about August of last year (2008). So recently my brother upgraded to the Unibody and gave me his MBP so that I can give it to my wife. So now, I have 2 of the same exact MBP's.
So the problem that I'm having is that when I did a Erase and Install on the MBP that was given to me, it didn't have the same amount of HD space as the one I originally had. I only know this, because I recently did an Erase and Install on my original MBP and because I wanted a fresh MBP. When I did the Erase and Install on my original MBP, I noticed that it had about 174GB of HD space left.
Now with the MBP that I just received, I did the same exact Erase and Install to my new MBP and it only has 171.71GB of HD space.
Also, I notice after doing the Erase and Install again on the new MBP. I noticed that when I did the Customize portion it stated that I am going to be need 9.2GB of available space and that I have 185GB of available space. So after I did the Erase and Install, shouldn't it have about 174GB of space like my original MBP. And that's why I know my new MBP is missing HD space.
So my question is that, why am I missing HD space on my new MBP after Erase and Install and what can I do to get it right. Why wouldn't have the two computers have the same specs after Erase and Install has been done exactly the same way? (The only reason I did the Erase and Install on the new MBP is so that I can configure it for my wife with her login and info.)
Sorry for the long read... but here are the cliff notes.
1. I have 2 MBP that are exactly the same.
2. I did an Erase and Install on both MBP.
3. After Erase and Install, one of them has about 3GB less HD space.
If anyone can help me, please let me know. I will post replies here as well.
Otherwise, I will be taking it back to Apple since it's still under warranty.

How could you possibly know this without using the drives? IOW, how & when are you checking the drives' capacity & the used & available space of each?
Again, I've noticed that the HD space specifies that it has 185.99GB of available space after the OS, but once you add certain things, it specifies that it will be using 9.2GB of the available 185.99GB.
What do you mean by "185.99GB of available space after the OS"? What are the "certain things" & what is the "it" that specifies 9.2GB will be used?
If you really mean each drive is showing a *total capacity* of 185.99 GB (before or after installing anything), this is right for a "200 GB" drive. That is because the drive capacity specification is given in decimal based gigabytes but the computer reports capacity in binary based ones. (See paragraph 3 in my post at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9389432&#9389432 or search this forum for the word "gibibyte" for more about that.) This number should not change when something is installed -- it is the total capacity of the drive.
If the "certain thing" that says 9.2 GB (or whatever) is the installer application, be advised that it is telling you +the free space needed for the installation+, which is not that same thing as +the space used by the installed files+ once the process is complete. This is because the installer requires temporary file space to assemble the files it will install, hold the results of pre- & post- installation checks, & so on. This temporary space is eventually freed up once the files are in place. In part because of this, the reported space needed is only an estimate, & is always more than the space used by the installed files. (IOW, if it says 9.2 GB are needed for the installation, you should always see less than this used by the sum of all the files installed.)
Thus, as I have already explained as best as I know how, you need to look not just at the free space of each drive but at the total capacity, the number of files & folders used on each volume, & the partition map if you want to make a meaningful comparison of the two drives. I have already explained how to do this using Disk Utility. If you are not willing to do that but instead rely on what appear to be flawed inferences from other things, I can't help you any more than I already have.

I am currently using my brothers apple account for my iphone. now i have created a new account; if i sync my iphone with the new account will i lose all my apps? is there any way i can keep my apps even after syncing and manage from my new account?

No, all content that you download from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, it can't be transferred to another account

Why is my ipod touch saying there is insufficient memory to take a picture or download a new app, even after I have deleted lots of pictures and apps?

My ipod touch memory doesn't seem to be working correctly. I tried to take a photo and it said there was insufficient memory. I deleted all my pictures but it still said the same. I cannot take pictures or download any apps or the latest systme update despite having now deleted several apps and all my photos.

- Sometimes when you delete items and do other things files get put in the "other"category and use up storage. If the "other" is >0.75 GB or so then restore the iPod.

Why does CC still fail to update Apps even after the latest version (1.1.1.220)

I haven't been able to update several software for weeks and thought the latest Createive Cloud update on 8/20/13 (1.1.1.220) would solve the problem, it did not. I keep getting errors "Update Failed" Error encountered during installation. (U44M1P7) Is this a CC issue or an Internet connection issue I should take up with Comcast? Either way I cannot upload the upgrades I need and pay for.

For the products opening as trials, is there a "License This Software" button available? If there is, you should be able to sign in with your Adobe ID and not have it open as a trial.
You can install CS6 versions, if you click the More Information link below the product name in Creative Cloud for desktop app, that opens the product page where you can select to download the CS6 version.

No arabic keyboard on al mawrid app even after selecting one. £30 app now useless!

Use the Al Mawrid Dictionary app to help me study. For some reason I cannot select the arabic keyboard as there is now no globe symbol on the keyboard. all other apps still have this symbol. Have tried resetting and reloading the app but no joy.£30 app so very frustrated.

Have you tried contacting the people who make the app? They are the ones who are most likely to be able to solve any problems it has (and probably the only people who can).
If you select the Arabic keyboard for another app like Notes before starting this one, does the keyboard appear in Arabic as you need it to?

Apple store won't let me buy an app even after putting in my password

Just bought the mini. Bought a free app, then tried to upgrade it by purchasing one through App Store. Put in id and pw but it says i can't purchase and I need to contact apple support. Thoughts?
