Missing notifications in my iCal

Hi
We are three people how share a calendar on icloud for a project we are doing. I started the calender and invited the two others. Now the problem is, that I don't get any notifications in my iCal or on my iPhone when they change/update/add notes to our events. It is a bit annoying, because then I might not see the notes we leave for each other. Can somebody help me on how to make it work. On my iPhone I have the "new invitation alerts" on and also "shared calender alerts".

I have the same problem!!  This was first asked some time ago and I have been searching for an answer, but have not found one.  COULD SOMEONE FROM APPLE PLEASE ANSWER THIS??!!  It is a real pain and a black mark on an otherwise great product.
I have tried sync-ing via the cable and via wireless.  No difference.  My SW versions are:  iPad: 5.1.1, iTunes: 10.6.3, OSX: 10.6.8.  My iPad is an iPad1; my computer is a MacBook Pro.

  • IOS 8.2 causing missed notifications

Since I purchased my iPhone 6 I have really not had any problems with any of iOS updates.  Just installed the Apple Watch update (8.2) and suddenly random things are being difficult.  Bluetooth Siri requests mistranscribe or only catch half my words in my car (paired to a Kenwood head unit).  Siri will tell me "I'm really sorry about this, but I can't take any requests right now...." until I restart my phone.  But most annoyingly, I will find when I restart my phone that I have several notifications waiting for me that won't come through until I restart my phone.  It has missed VM from Google Voice, Texts, iMessages, from Mail (exchange and Google), and a few other apps.  All of this is new since the 8.2 update which I installed about a week ago, I think (I waited a few days to see if I heard any bad side-effects).  I performed an OTA update.

This kind of stuff is the reason I jumped from Android - I need my phone to just work; it's primary function is a tool, not a toy.  I do not want to be the developer's test subject.  I CAN'T EVEN REVERT TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION ANYMORE BECAUSE APPLE/iTUNES HAS STOPPED ALLOWING THE BACKUP TO INSTALL THE PREVIOUS OS. That's news to me, I don't know how long that's been going on... At least that would be possible with an Android. At least I have more control when they screw stuff up.Whatever. I feel like I'm being pushed out the door because Apple thinks I'm a fanboy and I'll buy anything that's shiny and has an apple logo. Competition is looking pretty enticing right now.

Does anyone else see these same missed notifications until they reboot the phone?  Any solutions, or just wait for 8.2.1?

  • My FaceTime wit work.when people FaceTime me all I get is a missed notification. And when I try to FaceTime someone it tells me to connect to wifi please help..

When I try using FaceTime it doesn't seem to work. When someone face times me all I get is a missed notification. An when I try to FaceTime someone it tells me to connect to wifi please help.

Alright, when you are attempting to FaceTime someone, are you connected to WiFi? With the iPhone 4, it does not support using FaceTime over the cellular network, you will need to be connected to Wi-fi.

  • Facebook App - Problems with Newsfeed & Missing Notifications/Messages

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I continue to have two frustrating problems with my Facebook for Blackberry app that I installed directly via RIM's website:
    1. I am always missing notifications & messages on my blackberry. Sometimes they come through and other times they do not. Right now my blackberry said I had no new notifications or messages, but when I logged onto my Facebook account on my PC it showed I had 2 new messages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook app three different times (each time also removing & reinstalling my battery). After doing this, it seems to work consistently for a short while (maybe a week or two) and then starts missing notifications & messages all over again. This is incredibly unreliable and frustrating - RIM really needs to fix this.
    2. My second problem is that on my blackberry Facebook app I continue to see posts from apps that my friends interact with in my newsfeed that I have blocked on my main Facebook page (i.e. games like Farmville, Hidden Chronicles, various horoscope apps, etc). If I have blocked them on my regular Facebook account and they do not show up in my newsfeed when I'm logged into Facebook on a computer, why am I seeing them on my newsfeed on my blackberry? Again, this is a very annoying problem and really needs to be fixed.
I hope someone in the forum can help me wth these issues.
    These two problems are

I haven't tried the older version of skype yet. But I did try one thing that worked, it's just not ideal. Basically I set up a new account through skype and then logged in through that account. Everything worked perfectly fine. I could send and receive messages and everything updated like it was supposed to. Altough I obviously had to readd all my contacts and group chats, which was a pain. I logged out of that account and logged back into my original one and it was still having the same problems. I have absolutely no idea why a new account will work fine but my old account won't. But if you want to keep the updated version of skype and don't mind all of the hassle of making a new account, that's one sort of solution.

  • Missing a calendar in iCal after syncing with MobileMe....

i am having some problems with iCal ...i am missing one my Calendars in iCal and wasn't sure how to get it back. I downloaded the calendars file and calendar.plist from my Time Machine backup...the missing calendar showed up at first, but it seemed to disappear right away (i assume after syncing with MobileMe.) Not sure what would be the easiest way to bring it back.......

It's possible to restore from Time Machine, though it's a slightly complicated process. Please follow very carefully the steps described here:

  • How to stop email notifications in icloud/ical?

My coworkers and I share numerous calendars using icloud.  Recently we have began to receive a deluge of email notifcations for every change, tweak, or addition made to the shared calendars.  We have been using shared icloud ical calendars for over 8 months and have NEVER had this issue until it started earlier this week.  Help!  My email inbox has become literally overrun with ical notification emails.
    Thanks!

I started getting this same problem today.  I received hundreds of emails.  In one case, a single event on the calendar was updated, but it sent me notifications for every event on the calendar.
I've never turned on the notifications for calendar changes. I tried to disable it to no avail. I went into iCloud calender and the option for change notification was not checked.  Just to be sure, I checked it, waited, and then unchecked it hoping to reset a setting. It had no effect. Eventually, I had to unsubscribe from the calendar.
Anybody know if Apple rolled something out?

  • Invitee option is missing from events in iCal

    Hi,
I'm having a hard time figuring out a solution to my issue and would appreciate any help someone could offer.
I use iCal on OS 10.7.5 on my mac. And, I use the Calendar app on OS 8.1.3 on my iPhone.
I recently moved from using Apple to sync my calendars to using Google instead.
The calendars sync to each device perfectly.
BUT, while on my iPhone I have the option to invite people to events, I do not have that option on my desktop.
On my desktop, if I add an event to a calendar On My Mac, the option shows up. But if I add an event to a calendar under Shared (one of the Google Calendar calendars), the Add invitees link is missing.
Any idea how to get it back?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Meeting invites no longer show in the notifications pane of iCal

I have been using Snow Leopard since it was released to the public and after a recent update I noticed that I could never see the Exchange meeting invites in the notifications pane. When I looked closer I saw that all the meeting invites were automatically added to the calendar, but they were colored grey (indicating that I had not yet accepted them).
I have searched the web for a solution, but there was just one entry of a similar problem, no solution though. I backed up the plist files for iCal and deleted the ones in System-Winson-Library-Prefrences
as well as the Cache entries for iCal.
Restarted iCal and got a colleague to send another meeting invite to my Microsoft Exchange Calendar. And the issue was still there.
There is no issue though with my iPhone which syncs with the same Exchange Calendar. I get to see the event notification.
I am totally lost and would appreciate help in this regard. This has been driving me bonkers all week!

Looks like 10.6.3 update solves this
    iCal fixes provided for:
changing the invitation list for a single instance of a recurring event will no longer "un-book" the location of the meeting.
an issue in which new invitations on a Microsoft Exchange server might not appear in the Notification pane.
properly showing recurring Microsoft Exchange events which have a set end date. For details, see this article.

  • IOS 7 Missed Notifications won't clear in the Missed section of Notification Center

I've litterally tried everything! Anytime I get a missed call it shows up under the missed section of notification center. I then tap it and call the person back but afterwards it still stays in the Missed section of Notification Center, it does not clear after I acknowledged it. This is clearly a bug, but it doesnt happen on other people's iphone (JUST MINE!) I've tried every possibility...I had my phone swapped out, Restored my phone as a NEW iphone and I even created a brand new iCloud email address for my contacts...the only thing i can possibly think is that it has something to do with my apple id or something. because the only time i don't have the issue is when i restore my phone my phone as a NEW iphone and i DONT log onto my apple id then the issue wont occur, but i need my apple id logged in for all my purchases and what not. So im thinking it has something to do with my @icloud.com address. I looked online and saw some other people were having a similar issue, and yes when i restart my phone the missed calls clear, but i should not have to do this every single time i want to get rid of a notificaion. If anyone at Apple is reading this.....PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. Does anybody out there have a fix?
P.S. I am using a brand new iphone 5s running the newest version of iOS (7.0.2)

I have the same issue. It is a bug that apple needs to address. I have realised what causes the problem is that. When you open the Phone app and view the missed calls. This removes the missed calls from the Notification Center "All" tab, but the Missed Call stays in the "Missed" tab. Few quick fixes I have tried is. Clearing the missed calls from Notification Center "All" tab before accesing the Phone app. Then going to the Phone app to call the people back. Also you can clear the Missed Calls from "Misses" tab by going to Settings>Notification Center>Phone then turn OFF then turn ON  "Show in Notification Center" Hope this helps.

  • Missed notifications ios7 & iPhone 5

    Hey all,
I did a quick search and figured I'd ask. I has a sms failure notification on the missed tab. I went in the messages app and resent the message and everything was cool. However, I could not clear the notification off the bar. I even clicked on it and it took me to the message, however there were no other failures.
The only way I could clear it was a reboot.
Any insights into any other way to clear the missed tab?

I think I figured it out, to a degree. I found that the only music that was deleted was any music purchased from iTunes since the day I purchased my iPhone 5. After I got home that day and plugged my phone in to my computer, the songs that were not visible on my iTunes app were still there on my phone, but the dates were all corrupted (all said they were added on some strange old date).
My guess is they got corrupted during iTunes wifi sync. I have since turned it off and haven't had this issue come up again. Good luck!

  • Missing "Invitees" option in iCal

I'm trying to schedule some appointments in iCal, but the "Invitees" option is missing when the schedule appointment window opens. It's on my iPhone in iCal and I use it all the time. I don't recall ever doing anything to activate that feature, so I'm a bit puzzled.
    Anyone have any thoughts?
    Thx

  • Missing tasks in my ical after last update yesterday

    Hi
1/3 of my calendar is missing from ical and MobileMe calendar and on my iphone4 and even when i try to get them back from time machine, they are still missing.
    What to do???
is it possible that they have a copy from before the update at MobileMe and how to get it.
I have some very important calendar in ical.
    Please help!

I have to say that is a completely stupid thing Apple has done - they have solved a problem that didn't exist.
I plug my iPhone into my laptop and - bam - everything is synced.  No fuss, no muss.  To force everyone to (1) use iCloud or (2) use another syncing service is inefficient and pointless - not exactly the Apple way which I thought was the whole point of Apple's/Jobs' vision. Perhaps Apple is competing with Google to try to get as much information about us as possible?
Just called Apple at 1.800.694.7466 and they told me the issue isn't with Mavericks per se but with iTunes 11.1.5.
According the helpful woman I spoke to, no one at Apple knows why Apple decided to remove the ability to sync everything via USB.  She hears complaints about the change and knows it makes life difficult for folks.
She also recommended contacting www.apple.com/feedback about the change.  She says Apple does in fact have a group of people who do read the comments.

  • Missing shared calendars using iCal and OS X Mountain Lion

My wife and I sharing our family calendars using iCloud. I created some of them and shared them ith my wife and she created others as well and shared them with me. Up here, business as usual :-)
I'm not sure about the concrete time it happens, but for a while I'm missing the calenders of my wife in the +-Menu of iCal and today my wife told me, shes missing my cals, too.
Using our mobile devices (iPad, iPod) we are both able to create new events in every calender. A new event created in my own calendars is editable and can be moved into one of the shared cals of my wife.
Anyone out there having a solution for this?
    Thanks
    Stephan

The following is a summary of other posts: It helped some of us. Try it out!
    1. Make a backup ( a) Time Machine, b) Export > Archive iCal) Close iCal
    2. In Finder hold down alt-Key while choosing "Go to..." menu
    3. Select Library
    4. In the folder Calendar delete the files
    Calendar Sync Changes
    Calendar Cache
    5. In the folder Preferences delete the files
    com.apple.CalendarAgent.plist
    com.apple.iCal.helper.plist
    com.apple.iCal.plist
    com.apple.iCalExternalSync.plist
    com.apple.syncserver.plist
(not sure which one is the bad guy, but it did not hurt to erase all of them)
    6. Start iCal, it will update itself.

  • Mac notifications are showing ical events that are not selected

Notifications are showing up even though I do not have the calander selected in iCal.  I am using CalDev to link to my Google calendar.

    Ok now we know
I have emptied trash, restarted, shut down the computer, turned off photo stream and manually deleted everything off there through the icloud website. The events still show up in itunes after everything.
and it is not a update issue - what were the results of checking the issues identified in the link OT posted?

  • Perhaps I should have posted here - Notification delays with iCal

I posted this in SL - but now realize there is a separate area just for iCal so here goes again:
==>I really find it hard to believe that we are all the way to SL 10.6.4 but the alarm (notification reminder delays) on iCal cannot be configured. For example: I set an alarm (notification of an event) to go off to remind me to finish a rapport that is due in 3 days. So I set the alarm for 10am Tuesday; and the notification can be the same time; in the past, future - anytime notification I wish. THAT PART IS SUPER!
BUT BUT BUT - when the alarm goes off, I now realize that I can't work on that today - it is 10 am and I want to work on it at 8am tomorrow, so would like click on the notification to remind me in 12 hours for example; or in 18 hours time. BUT MY CHOICES are still only 1, 5, 15 and 30 minutes; 1 hour, 2 hours or 1 day or 1 week. But I really want to set anytime; or if limited to choices, at least to have 4, 8, 12 and 18 hours in addition to the others!!!!
This should be easy to incorporate. Is there anyway using TERMINAL to adjust this? I like the idea of Mail, Address Book and iCal working together, but iCal has some weak points... this is one. (I use notifications constantly - 10-30 times/day I am notified. It's fast, it works - but I need more choices of times for the delays).
    Thanks for any comments.
    Best regards,
