"@" missing on screensaver - e71 NAM

I just noticed something since I updated to 9.6.0.12 (the one with improved html): when the phone has the screensaver on (dimmed display with the time and date) and a new email message comes in, the "@" does not display on the screensaver.
It used to display the "@" on the screensaver in previous versions.
I wonder if this is a bug or a new feature.

Duplicate or missing preference panes — what you thought to be folders in System Preferences — are usually caused by cache corruption. To resolve this:
1. Quit System Preferences if it is open.
2. Open your Home > Library > Caches folder.
3. Trash the following two files therein:
• com.apple.preferencepanes.cache
• com.apple.preferencepanes.searchindexcache
4. Empty the Trash.
5. Launch System Preferences and all should be well.

ORA-01506: missing or illegal database name

Hi Gurus/Experts,
I am implementing dataguard for digaster consideration for my primary database mydb. I have changed some initilization parameter for this implementation and while doing this when I changed a paraneter like below:
SQL> alter system set db_file_name_convert="'/u01/app/oracle/oradata/mydb_un', '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/orcl_un'" scope=spfile;
System altered.
Because this parameter is static so I have restart my database with startup force option. But I am getting belwo error.:

As of now I do not have standby INIT file and one which INIT file which I am showing here that's for my primary database i.e mydb. I would like to let you know I am planning to implement dataguard where mydb would be my primary database ad orcl would be my stabd by database. Before creating standby database I am preparing all initilization parameter in my primary database.
I have started my database with SYSDBA but still getting the same error. Please check below:

Some tagged faces in iPhoto 11 missing under person's name

A few days ago I sent my mom a couple of photos of my dad. I went to his name in Faces and found some and e-mailed them to her.
She asked me if I could make some prints of them so this evening I went back into iPhoto and clicked on his name again under Faces. I couldn't find one of the photos I had sent her. I was able to find it under the tagged face of another person in the photo. I checked and my dad is tagged in the photo but it no longer shows up under his Faces photos. It was there just a few days ago.
I tried repairing and rebuilding the iPhoto database and the missing photo is still not under his name.
I'm wondering what happened and also how many other photos are missing from their tagged names.

actually - I just found out on another thread that perhaps "file path" was never on the information panel anyway. I wonder if I am confusing it with the info panel I see in iphoto library Manager.
And I just hovered my mouse over the "at the beach" file name in the information panel, and discovered the origianal file name showed up. And if you hover your mouse of the date, you see "taken, modified and and imported".
Still wish I could see the file path, but now wondering if I ever did in iPhoto. But hope this reply of my own helps others that may be wondering where some of the stuff went.

Also tried:

Any suggestions on what I could do?

Excel 2010 missing default suggested file name in Save As dialog box

I’m using Excel 2010 running on Windows 7 (32 bit). When I open a certain file which produces the following message: "A file is in a different file format than its extension indicates", and then go to “Save As” (or “Save”) the
file, the default suggested file name is missing (blank). This didn't occur in previous versions of Excel.
In previous versions, Excel would automatically populate the original file name in to the File Name field.
I have searched all over the net, looking for a way to change Excel so that it will once again populate the file name in this situation.
To reproduce:
Create a new blank workbook
save as type “Web Page”, (i.e. File name: “Blank Example.html”)
Close workbook
In windows, rename file from .html to .xls (i.e. rename “Blank Example.html” to “Blank Example.xls”)
In Excel open renamed file (i.e. “Blank Example.xls”) and click “Yes” when prompted with the “A file is in a different file format than its extension indicates” message.
Do a “Save As” and you will notice that the File Name is blank. In previous versions, this field would contain the current workbook file name
(i.e. “Blank Example.xls”)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In order to re-produce this, you need to answer "yes" to the rename file prompt and then continue with step 5 (above).
The reason for this is not an exercise in futility - I assure you. At my work and elsewhere, when web developers have created features to permit the end user to save web data in Excel format, often times the Excel files are saved locally in Excel's
html format (but with the .xls
extension).
(I actually prefer the .xls
extension, because it is easier to just double-click the file to open in Excel, rather than to select the open-with and then select Excel. a file with the .html extension will default open in your default browser. Now, I could change my default program
for the .html extension, but that would only solve a part of the problem and would not really address the bigger issue and that being that Microsoft changed a behavior in Excel and may not even be aware that it was a much used feature. )
To continue, when I go to open the resulting Excel file, I am prompted with the message that the file type does not match the extension (which is fine and not bothersome to me). It's at this point when I go to save the file that I get really annoyed.
In previous versions of Excel, the default file name would be pre-filled with the current name of the file and the default file type would state that it is a Web html file. I would just change the file type to Excel Workbook and hit enter to save.
I would be prompted with "Are you sure you want to overwrite your existing file?" message and I would click "yes" and that would be that.
However, in Excel 2010, because the default file name is blank, I then need to re-type the name into the field to save the file.

Missing photo links - changing name of external Hard Drive location

I have searched for the answer to this high and low without success if someone can help...
I have a large collection of photos that I store on an external firewire hard drive (too many to store on my macbook pro). My iphoto library is on my Mac and when importing photos to iphoto I did not import the files so the originals remain on the external hard drive and are therefore linked to in iphoto.
I did it this way, rather than storing the library database on the external drive, so that I could access the information and thumbnails when travelling and not connected to my external drive.
I've upgraded my external hard drive and it will have a different name. I need to transfer all the photos across to the new hard drive.
Is there a quick way to reconnect all my original photos when transferred to the new hard drive or a better way to transfer them? Having tried to copy them across manually, obviously as expected I get a missing photo exclamation mark and am asked to browse to the file to relink. This is OK to reconnect one or two photos, but would take me forever with 17,000.
I remember Adobe Photo Album had a command reconnect missing files, and it would go off and search for the files you may have moved location (or changed the directory name in which they were held). Is such a function available in iphoto? I've tried the iphoto re-build functions, but this doesn't look in other attached volumes for the photos.
Alternatively, is there a way to edit the iphoto library database to do a search and replace of the Volume name to the new name and reconnect the link to then photos? e.g. Can you manually edit the albumdata.xml file (and would this be the file to edit) for example, and rebuild the database with Photo Library Manager?
Can you re-import all the photos from the new location, and rebuild the links that way, or does this create duplicate entries and not merge album, keyword event data etc for each photo?
My last resort is re-importing all the photos again, but of course I'd loose all my keywords, albums, events and other info I've spent a long time entering into iphoto.

I just wanted to close this off to say that my solution worked fine and my iphoto libraries are up and running in perfect order again. And to summarise the solution so you don't have to read the entire post above.
This solution is for those wanting to have the iphoto library on your Mac and store the original photos linked elsewhere on an external / network drive (i.e. not imported into the iphoto library). Then you want to change the location where the originals are stored (say for example you get a new bigger external Hard Drive - like I did), and that new location will have a different name. Most people recommend importing the photos into the iphoto library, keeping everything together, and this can then be moved anywhere and accessed.
So to summarise, if you are moving original photos linked into iphoto:
1. Back up everything you can first...
2. First try moving the files (not copying and deleting) - the aliases may reconnect, especially if they are on your main HD. You may need to manually reconnect one file in each sub-directory.
3. Move your photos to your external HD / network drive. Note if the new place has the same name as your old external HD then the aliases probably won't need to be fixed.
4. Download and install File Buddy or similar Alias 'fixer'
5. Go to your iphoto Library, right click, "Show Package Contents"
6. Copy the "Originals" directory to another location so that file buddy can read it.
7. Run File buddy, fixing the aliases in your copy of the Originals folder, pointing to where you've moved your photos too (restrict the directories as much as possible where you point file buddy to search for the missing files to speed it up). You will only have issues if you have multiple copies of the same file - i.e. that have the same file name and creation date, and file buddy will give you a list of these. This in itself is a good check to see you don't have the same file in two places - I only had issues with folders of photos that I'd been given from family in which there were multiple copies of the same photo. I've now cleaned these up, saved space and ran file buddy again to finish the job off.
8. Finally, move this now fixed "Originals" folder back into your iphoto library (package contents) - writing over / replacing the original "Originals" directory.
All being well, should be fixed!
Just to share with you the benefits I find of having my photos stored on an external HD and the iphoto library on my Macbook:
-- Saves space on my limited internal HD
-- others can access the photos, set up and manage their own iphoto libraries pointing at the same originals, and we don't need two copies of the original files
-- I can access the iphoto library and manage albums, add keywords, titles, etc when not connected to the External HD, though you're limited to viewing the (not too small) thumbnail pictures iphoto stores in its library
I'm loving iphoto even more now, it makes managing and viewing my 1000's of photos a pleasure.

Missing Cosmos ScreenSaver

Cosmos.slideSaver is still installed under /System/Library/Screen Savers/Cosmos.slideSaver, but this screensaver is no longer an option in Mountain Lion.
Does anyone know how to get it back?

New firmware for E71 NAM

Hi, I just checked to see if there was an update for my E71 -2 NAM Product code 0570274 and was wondering if it has been noticed by anyone else. The original version is 100.07.06. The new version is Ver 200.21.118 I am a bit of a chicken with this update stuff so I think I will wait and see what some of the experts do.

I installed the the 200 firmware a couple of days ago as it eventually became available in the UK through O2. Fair play to O2 it takes them a while but they always release the firmware updates, eventually unlike 3...
The only problem I have been having is to do with the date. In the 100 firmware if you used Workday alarms the date didn't change correctly when you got to the weekend. To fix this you used everyday alarm instead and just deactivated it when you didn't need it. Now when the alarm goes off the phone advances 2 days!!
The work around for this is either leave your phone on all the time, which I may do or install a program called 'freetimebox', which a few people say eliminates the problem. Going to try that tonight.
To be honest I am glad I updated as the camera performance is a lot better. The great thing about this place is that people will normally find work arounds to problems. In my opinion it's always worth upgrading. To date I've had N80, N82 and E71, updated all of them through NSU and never had any problems. By that I mean the phone dying on me or something.....touch wood!

What I miss on my E71

1. Currency converter, Yes, I know there is at least one that could be downloaded, but I would like to have one that could be automatically synchronized. Perhaps there is such software?
2. WPA2 capability’s, in the specs, it says that the E71 is capable of this, but regardless of that it can’t find our company network (where WPA2 is standard).
3. Also miss the 802.11 N capability’s’, it would be really nice if the unit where capable of the faster bandwidth of this standard.
4. Nokia Spy phone, The old Nokia phones could a software be added that enable the phone to be used as a silent recording and listening station, just by phoning it from another phone. I have found similar software from www.thespyphone.com, but really, who pays $ 395 for a cool function? And is the software safe to use?
5. GPS tracking device, it would be nice to be able to track a stolen telephone remotely trough the GPS. That it could be permanently looked remotely trough 3d part software I found out.
6. Better calculator. I have found the Calcium Calculator, but regardless of what I do, I get the certificate error when I try to install it.
7. Phone on a touch screen, loves that there is a real QWERTY-keyboard, but for a man with large hands, these small keys can be pretty annoying when one wants to make a regular phone call.
8. Biometric logon trough fingerprint recognition. This is (combined with a good SSO-program) a feature that I love on my laptops.
9. Additional SIM-card capabilities. To be able to have and use (our simply trough software swap) an additional SIM-card in the phone (for example for private use), at the same time, as the business one would be lovely.

Worldmate standard comes built in. Go to the installation folder and install it. It contains an automatic update feature for currencies.
it contains a world clock, currency converter, weather and a world map.
You need to go pro for advanced features.

There is a missing letter of Path name or file name when vivado SDK linking object files

I used vivado SDK 2014.3 to complie the third source code and could get *.o files. But when linking them, there was an error to show that No such file or directory. I found that there was lack of letter in path name of object file. It's a SDK bug or I don't set up correctly?

E-Recruitment business partner objects missing First and Last Name

Hi,
We are on Netweaver 2004s and ERecruitment EHP3...it's installed on production but not activated. We are finding a bunch of BP records that exist where there is no First and Last Name on them, however the CP object does have this data. We can't figure out what is causing this to happen to some candidates? It appears to only be the case on External/Unregistered Candidates.

Missing Keyboard - Duplicate Last name in contacts - Background randomly back to default

My husband and I both just got the HTC incredible 2. I got the same phone so that we would have a better chance at troubleshooting if anything came up. I still can't figure out either of these.
First of all there is NO keyboard anywhere on his phone. He cannot type anything anywhere, contacts or otherwise. When we go under settings and keyboard, there is nothing listed.
At the same time that the keyboard dissapeared the background on the phone changed from his chosen map design, to the rainbow default background. And we are unable to restore the other one.
Second problem also happened on his old phone, a Gzone Ravine. His contacts will randomly have 2 last names. Ex: John Doe Doe. He will fix it and it will happen to other contacts, or the same one again. Totally random. He believes it is something with the backup assistant. When they transferred his contacts from to the droid with the assitant the problem was not there. However after a couple days the duplicate last names started showing up again.
Has anyone known of a bug or virus attached wiht the backup assistant?

For the first issue it sounds like a call to tech support is in order. Honestly, a factory reset might help but if it's brand new shouldn't need that yet. I would say if you are within your 14 days go back to where you bought it and exchange for a new one. If you are outside of 14 days I would definately say tech support.
As far as backup assistant goes I would check and see what it says for the names on My Verizon. Make sure everything is correct on both sides and then snyc it.

Yosemite install, all folders missing with just folder names show, but can't open.

I've just done a clean install for a relative to Yosemite. It all went well, but I'v noticed all folders on all hard drives are missing. Just the title of the folder is
showing, but I can't open them where the folder icon would be.

Do you have a backup you could restore the older version from?
Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X - Yosemite
Revert Yosemite to Mavericks
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

Sorry, but what's the problem? Your post is not clear. On my E71, the dedicated volume keys on the side of the phone adjust the volume of the song playing in the music player app. I've never had a problem with this. If you have a problem then there is something wrong with your phone. You could try reinstalling the firmware, or take your phone for a service.

E71 NAM firmware, why no update yet

Why does it take so long for Nokia to release the firmware updates for unlocked NAM phones?
There was a firmware release in March and it's still not available for my NAM product code.

oh Great Does it fix many of the things from Mavericks? And what if you have installed things in Mavericks like a thing that adds folder functions and stuf like that. And i have a Mac Pro 2.66 Gzh Quad Core IntelXeon. from 2009. 10GB
I heard that yosemete is not good for the older macs. I wonder if mine is considered old
