Missing one of my email folders

yes when i go into my hotmail email account one of my folders is missing, it contains alot of important messages, any suggestions where it went, i know i did not delete them, thank you

That is a sad news to hear, but I am afraid that mozilla community won't be able to help you as it seems to be a problem with your email service provider. I recommend you to have a question posted to Hotmail.
Thank you

  • Move email folders from one account to another . Both on Thunderbird

We have our email email on Thunderbird client at one domain name. We are switching the domain name (or rather shortening it) . How do I move the 500+ email folders to new domain without manual copy and paste?

Some possible options in no particular order:
    (1) Copy the folders to a SUB Thumb Drive.
    (2) Use Dropbox
    (3) If your Macs are compatible with AirDrop see list:
MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)
    iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
Activate AirDrop on both Macs to Move/Copy your Mail Folders.

How do i move all of my email folders to remote disk, not one email at a time?

Do the contacts that are not in iCloud belong to an external account such as Gmail, Yahoo or an Exchange account?  Or, do they belong to On My iPhone?

  • My email folders on iCloud mail are missing

I have a new IPad Mini. All of my email folders are now missing after restoring from ICloud backup.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Force-close the Mail app (double-tap the home button, swipe up on the Mail app to close it, tap the home button again), then reset it (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.  Check Mail.
If the folder still aren't there, but they appear in Mail on iCoud.com, sign out of your account: Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Delete from My iPad and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in and check your Mail.

  • Missing Email Folders

How do i get my email folders to appear in my email on the verizon iphone 4? The only ones I see are the inbox and trash. I tried rebooting but that didn't help. Thanks.

"If I'm considering gmail or yahoo, how do I know if they are iMAP or Exchange? I've never heard those terms before."
gmail offer both pop3, imap and exchange free
you don't really need to change your current mail account just set it to auto forward all mails to the gmail account

  • In Thunderbird, how can I import more than one set of sub-folders from my old email program?

I recently changed to Thunderbird from Microsoft Outlook Express (which I still have installed), on which I had two separate "identities", each having its own address book and set of sub-folders. The installation process successfully set up two new sets of files in Thunderbird (Inbox, etc.), one set for each of my previous identities, and successfully retrieved all the data from both address books, combining them in the process, but it has only retrieved one set of sub-folders. Is there any way I can copy the other set of folders across?

I am pretty sure I answered this question this morning. posted more than once on the same subject have we?

  • Email folders missing

It is hard to believe that the guys from apple hasn't considered the need for email folders. Please do something soon. How can anyone keep track of the mail after just a few days?

They appear to have conisdered ti, and with IOS 5 in the Autumn, you will be able (from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#more) to :
Even add and delete mailbox folders on the fly
Until then if it's an IMAP type account then you should be able to login to your account on a browser and create them there, and they should then appears in the Mail app. If it's a POP type account then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got.

  • ICloud email folders, emails have disappeared

    Hello
I have a GMail email account and a me.com email account. I decided to create email archive folders under my me.com account (ie: emails from friends, work etc) so I can archive some emails and clear out my inbox. I then started dragging and dropping emails from both my gmail and me.com accounts into these email folders in iCloud. There was a lot of emails (circa 7000 odd). Anyway after I had completed this excercise my inbox was clear, however when I went into the email folders in Icloud most of the emails were not there. It seems to have removed the most important emails too so I am now in a bit of a panic.
Previous to doing this I had completed the following to remove the annoying all mail folder on mac mail:
"Went into the GMAIL account via my browser and gone into settings, labels, then uncheck  "show in IMAP" for the all mail folder."
Has anyone else had this problem and if so any ideas what I can do?
    Thanks
    Neil

A friend has done this before, with MobileMe as well as iCloud and hasnt had a problem.
I have checked both carefully (I did this before I posted the query) I have logged into GMAIl via my browser and checked there, I have checked Gmail on my iphone mail app and I have checked gmail on the mail app on my macbook air, Additionally I have done the same with icloud. They are not there.
I thought I was archiving (ie creating folders within iCloud tpo store emails, thereby clearing up my inbox). If there is another way to archive, I would suggest that providing information on how to do this would be more helpful than your response.
It's far safer (and faster) to archive to a local folder rather than one connected via the internet, and if your mail is truly missing from the servers (.me and gmail websites) as well as your devices I have to assume that it is gone, sorry.
As to how to archive locally:
In mail: Right Click on any mailbox you wish to archive and select: Export Mailbox.

  • Exchange email folders and sub-folders: iPhone only pulling main "inbox"

    Hello.
I've got iPhone set to access my Exchange email via IMAP. My work computer is an Win XP PRo, running Outlook 2007. My Outlook email folders are organized via rules that most important emails are automatically routed to specific folders (such as from a particular client or staff member).
My problem is The iPhone is only checking for mail in my main inbox. The only way I can get it to check for mail in my sub-folders is to click on the folder. This is a big problem, as I am missing notifications, and have over 35 subfolders!
I've tried and tried to find a setting I can change, or something...but cannot. Does anyone have any recommendations either via iPhone settings or my Outlook rules settings?
    Thanks so much in advance!
    Sovi

Thanks for posting that thread. My problem is slightly different in that it won't pull the mail *at all* -- even to the inbox. The mail is only pulled if/when I click on the sub-folder. At that point, the mail goes go to the correct sub-folder.
For obvious reasons this is an issue -- I miss lots of mail!
I (we) can't be the only ones using sub-folders with this issue.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • I clicked to open one of my mail folders and when it opened, it immediately deleted all of the items in it!  Why and can I get them back???

In my email app, I clicked to open one of my mail folders.  When it opened, it immediately deleted all of the emails inside that folder.  This happened with all the others too.  How can I stop this and is it possible to get that mail back.

Did you try to open teh fle by double-clicking its icon? If the file was made with an older version of Office, you may get that message. Try opeing PP and, from its "File" menu, see if you can open the ppt. I've foundthat often gets around that message and then yo ucan save the file from the newer version.
If that doesn't work, consider asking in the Microsoft Office: Mac forums here:
    Office for Mac forums
PowerPoint is not an Apple product and it seems a lot of people around here avoid Office.

  • After migrating to new mac, email folders are lost.

I used Migration Assistant to transfer files and data from my old MacBook Air to my new MacBook Air. Everything seems to have transferred just fine, except for my email folders. I have tried plugging in Time Machine to restore them from my backups on my old mac, but the new mac doesn't recognize backups on the old one, so I can't access it through Time Machine while in the mail program. So then I tried searching for my mail files, which (according to what I've read) should be in Library/Mail, but I have no Mail folder that I can find by that path (or, really, by any other). I believe both macs are running Mountain Lion.

That Library folder is actually the one in your home folder, which is hidden. You can view it by clicking the Go menu in Finder while holding the Option key down - you'll then see a shortcut to Library.
The mail is held in ~/Library/Mail/V2, inside folders named for each mail account. You should be able to use the File - Import Mailboxes menu in Mail to retrieve them.
