Missing Option in DHCP Network Wizard

When I tried the DHCP Address Wizard, part of the DHCP Manager, there's a "Generate Client Names" option. It looks like it would be convenient, but it's grayed out. Are there any plans to update the package to make it work?

The server is running as an Open Directory with the DHCP / DNS / AFP and Print Services.
All Clients can log in and Easily work.
What does the log mean?

Hey there,
Check out this older log from Camelot. He gives a great explanation for what these logs mean. Really, they are nothing to be worried about. Its your server just letting you know which options are not configured.
However, if these items, such as dhcpnetinfo_servertag, are configured and that message is still showing up, then you know there is an issue somewhere.

Missing network wizard for C410

I want to setup wireless network on the C410 printer...
Go to control panel on printer; I choose settings (spanner icon); Network then Advanced...
Menu only shows 2 options - Link Speed & IP settings.
Where is the option for running the wireless network wizard?
If I print the network config page it lists a number of available wireless networks - including my own.
I work in IT - mostly information management - but have spent a lot of time tinkering with PCs, servers and o/s systems so I'm happy to delve into the technical if needs must...
Would greatly appreciate some help!

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see by your post that you would like to setup the printer on the wireless network.
I can help you with that.
Depending on which Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One Printer - C410 model you have, the wireless button on the printer will automatically run the wizard. You may or not have the wireless setup wizard under, setup, network, advanced setup, wireless setup wizard.
I have provided a document for setting up the wireless connection.
Installing the Printer Software in Windows for a Wireless Network Connection.
If you don't have those options available then setup the wireless from the USB connection.
If you previously installed the software for a USB connection and now want to change to a wireless network connection.
Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, click HP, click the folder for your printer and then click the icon for your printer. The printer software opens.
Click Printer Setup & Software Selection.
Click Convert a USB connected printer to wireless, and then follow the on-screen instructions to set up the HP product on a wireless network. Once the printer has been set up on the wireless network, there is no need to continue with the steps in this document.

Im having problems connecting to my corporate intranet DHCP network and investigating I realize the DHCP server requires a fixed DHCP Option 60 (vendor-class-identifier) with the value "MSFT 5.0".
Please, How can I configure this option in my osx DHCP client?

So you Mac is supporting Windows 2000 or older Microsoft operating systems? That is what Microsoft DHCP Vendor and User Classes. The 10.6.x system shouldn't need and changing.

Multiple dhcp networks

Thanks in advance for helping! I am trying to setup an OS X server to provide a DHCP address to systems using multiple DHCP networks.
I have previously only had to provide DHCP services for a single simple network like:   192.168.14.xx      (192.168.14.50 - 192.168.14.199)
Now that I need to provide DHCP for multiple networks like:    192.168.14.xx,   192.168.15.xx, and etc.
I am not sure how to make sure that the IP address provided is for the correct network.

There are two ways to do this. If you have a network at 192.168.14.0/24 and you want to add another class C 192.168.15.0/24 you can simply expand your network to a /23. This would give you a contiguous block of addresses from 192.168.14.1 through 192.168.15.254. Now technically, you are using a class C range but applying class b subnet. Regardless, it should work. If you need to expand beyond this then you end up with trouble. If your base network is 192.168.14.0 and you go to a /22 then the base is shifted down to 192.168.12.0/22. This may cause issues if you have a log of devices in the center of your 14 network.
The second option is to define VLans and tag them. This will require work on the switches, the creation of virtual interfaces on OS X and then the creation of DHCP ranges based on the VLan.
In this case, your 10.8 server can span the VLans and then server devices on each of them.

In Firefox Nightly (what will become Firefox 20), per-window private browsing has been added, so the menu item under the Tools menu is gone. It's been replaced by New Private Window under the File menu. I don't suppose it's very likely that you're using such a cutting-edge test version of Firefox though.
If that doesn't solve the problem, since it's a different issue, it would be best if you would ask a new question.

Push a custom DHCP option in DHCP Offer

Hi,
I have Windows 2008 R2 acting as a DHCP server. I'd like to push a
custom option (created under Scope/Predefined Options and Values/DHCP Standard options)
during DHCP Offer.
Currently options in DHCP Offer are: 53, 1, 58, 59, 51, 54, 6, 255.
The reply (DHCP Request) contains: 53, 61, 50,54, 12, 81, 60, 55, 255.
How can I configure the DHCP server so the Offer contains my custom option?

Hi,
You can add or remove options to and from the predefined list of standard options as needed. Although options are made available in this way, they are not assigned values until administratively configured at either the server, scope, or reservation.
Once you have manually defined an option, then expand Scope –
Scope Options(or Server options), right click and select
Configure Options, select the checkbox of manually added option in
Available Options list. Then click Apply –
OK to save the change.

Are you referring to DHCP Option Codes? If so then this can be done with the DHCP server included with Mac OS X Server. However Apple do not provide a tool for doing this nor for encoding the values in the required format.
What you will need to do is edit the DHCP Server configuration file manually using a text editor. This configuration file is located at /etc/bootpd.plist before you do this I advise having a read of the Unix man page for bootpd (the DHCP server software Apple use).
You can use a utility I have written to generate the required information and then paste this in to /etc/bootpd.plist it can be downloaded from -

InDesign is from a technical viewpoint a Plugin Activator.
Every function is a plugin.
With CC and higher you can change the language in the CC app preferences.
When you change the language, additonal plugins, necessary for that language are installed, with the MENA (Middle East North Africa) versions RTL functionality is added into your primary version.
InDesign chooses to start the program in the same language as you OS is set up, RTL functionality appears translated into your normal User Interface.
After installing a MENA version you can switch back to your main language.

Your earlier phone must have been originally intended for sale in another country and must have been purchased from somewhere other than an authorized Apple retailer. Phones that are intended to be sold in the UAE have FaceTime permanently disabled. The option is not there and cannot be made to work.

Computer crashing and nvidia control panel missing options

Hey, I bought 2x msi gtx 970 and put them in sli mode. They worked fine for a while but yesterday I started having problems. I was playing shadow of mordor and suddenly my screen went black and my computer restarted. It worked fine afterwards tho. Then today I played some LoL and after playing for like 15 minutes or so it happened again. But now also after the computer restarted my nvidia control panel was missing options. There were only setup g-sync, set up stereostopic 3d and view rating for games. I'm not sure if this happened yesterday too. I tried reinstalling the drivers (tho I'm not 100% sure I did a perfectly clean install) and the options came back but the crash happened again and the options disappeared also again. I have 850w corsair tx850 so I think that should be enough power? My mobo is asus P8Z77V-Deluxe and cpu intel i7 3770k @ 4.3ghz. So what is the problem?
EDIT: after I restarted my computer again the options in the control panel reappeared
EDIT2: I ran furmark with both sli on and sli off for about 50 minutes and oddly enough my computer didn't crash. Everything ran well. Here's some statistics from sli: GPU1: 1316MHz @ 99% load, temp 80 C, voltage 1.193V, GPU2: started at 1303MHz and then dropped to 1277MHz @ 97% load, temp 62 C, voltage 1.206V. Another weird thing is that the crashes in lol kept happening even after this and always around 15-20 mins to the game. I would say it's an issue with lol but it happened once with shadow of mordor too. I haven't played any other games. Also it's weird that this started happening only recently, not from the beginning. I do recall downloading some update to geforce experience recently, don't know if that matters.
Also I'd like to know that are those temperatures normal for air cooling in sli and/or are they too high?
EDIT3: Just noticed that everytime I try to run pci-express render test on gpu-z my computer crashes instantly and apparently trying to run furmark now also crashes the computer

Temps are completely fine for SLI on air. Top card always is much hotter than the other. However you could reapply thermal paste on both cards, run single card for 1h and record its temps, then do the same for the 2nd card (in single card mode so the other is out of the PC) and use the cooler one on top.
I feel so dumb right now. Seems like one power cord from the psu to my gpu wasn't properly attached and now that it's completely connected everything seems to work. I'll update this thread if that didn't fix the problem. But anyways thanks for your fast response

Network pane is missing features like dhcp button

Hi,
I originally posted this in the Airport forum, but now I think it may be an OS problem instead
I have a semi wireless network with an Airport Extreme base station and an Airport express. My G4 dual 450 is connected to the base station with an ethernet cable (no airport card in this part).
All the rest of the network is up and running, but the G4 acts as though it is not plugged in. My network status pane says so!
I bought a new ethernet cable (prematurely) and when that didn't work, I took my PB and turned off it's airport card and plugged it into the base station and it worked.
So I'm suspecting my system on the G4. It's Built-in Ethernet pane, under TCP/IP is missing some bits. The Configure IPv4 drop down only has "using PPP" and "manually' in it; there is not "Renew DHCP License" button or DHCP Client ID field.
But might it be a hardware problem (in the G4) causing this?
I thought of reinstalling OS 10.4 from my disk, but then, if that didn't solve my problem, I would not be able to do the upgrades to 10.4.7 without an internet connection. But perhaps there is a corrupted .plist that may be causing this?

I actually found that old Hardware Test CD from when I bought this Mac about 6 years ago, never used it before! It booted up in the old OS 9 style and I ran the test....found no hardware problems.
I ethernetted my PB to the G4, but did NOT get a connection....still I wonder if the configuration is wrong, maybe that would prevent the network from coming up?
I checked the ethernet port in my system utilities, and it came up OK, nothing odd except that it said it was PPP
Finally I talked to a friend who said something very similar happened to him and it was solved by reinstalling the OS
So I am currently doing an archive and install........
OK, sheesh. so I do an archive and install and the network pane still showed the same. Dang
So, I ran through my network panes again....and saw that my checkbox under the PPPoE pane was checked. So I unchecked it. And, of course, my TCP/IP pane came back to normal and I hit "Apply".....and it's all working now.
So how much work do I have to do to clean up after my archive and install?? I don't want to think about it right now. More importantly......how did that checkbox get checked for PPPoE?????

Filter Option is missing on Developer Toolbar Network Tab

In Other Browser, We have option to filter our network requests.
In IE also we have that but while we filter by any text, It straightly giving us the first result's detail.
Instead of giving us all the filtered result.
By not having that feature, we need to relay on count which they gave at top & need to travel each indivdual result to find our own interested one.
Instead, If they can provide such filtered list in one left side & by click of any of that give us result on right side(again right side they are not having Preview Tab, which quite important to check row data) would be much user friendly.

HP LaserJet P2015dn printer driver missing .To implement in network.

Recently i had format my SUSE linux PC which is Motherboard problem.
My printer was connected in that PC only.
After changing the Motherboard ,then i connect the printer(HP LaserJet P2015dn ).i can able to access.but in our network nobody able to access.
Then i searched last one week for driver for corresponding HP LaserJet P2015dn printer.It was not fixing my problem.
Eventhough i can't find my printer IP address.i heard that while putting driver software only, it will ask the new IP address.
i gave new IP also but it not pinging .
My question is:
1.Please provide the link for driver(HP LaserJet P2015dn) and how to install.
2.provide the steps to find the old IP address for this printer.

I hate to hear you are having issues. Please Click Here for available software for this unit. Due to the variety of Linux systems and supported printers for those types of systems, you may be redirected to other sites. For this type of OS you may need to download an updated version of HPLIP or install it if missing. Please Click Here to determine if you need to install or update HPLIP. Please see the steps below to navigate previous software link and confirm the current IP address. If you are not able to ping the printer's current IP address skip to the user guide link to troubleshoot networking issues.
From driver/software page:
1. Click Linux
2. Scroll down and click obtain software(under pink band)
3. Click the link in middle of page labeled, 'Download Linux drivers from HP Linux Imaging and Printing Web site'
4. Click hplip link(this will redirect you to the HPLIP download)
5. Determine if HPLIP download/update is required from link above
6. If required click download
7. Answer initial installation questions
8. Follow prompts to install HPLIP and printer

Missing hostname in DHCP Client Table???

I give up. I've searched the internet for an answer to why my mac's hostname does not show up in my WRT54G's DHCP Client Table and come up empty. I see host names for my windows and linux boxes, but not my macbook pro. Anyone have a clue?

I have a BEFSR81 with the latest firmware (2.51.3) and I have also noticed missing hostnames in the DHCP Client Table. I have a couple of scenarios that this appears to happen.
The first case is if the router is power cycled, the DHCP Client Table will obviously be empty, but even waiting up to 24 hour later for a default renewal, the hostnames are not updated and most remain empty. The only way to get the hostnames to appear is to reboot the machines where the hostname field is empty.
The second case is that some of my network devices never have hostnames in the router's DHCP Client Table.
The last case is when the entire network (machines as well as the router) is restarted. The router is started first and there are no Clients in the DHCP Client table. Then the clients are started and the DHCP Client Table fills up. After 24 hours, the client table will slowly degrade to have several missing hostnames, but the machines are still there and they are at the same address.
Is this a known problem with this router?
I had a Vonage router (Linksys RT31P2) and never had these problems. On the RT31P2, the DHCP Client table always had all the hostnames.
