Missing pages

Hello everyone,
recent minor changes to content but not the setup of my website bring up the error message "404 - page not found" to only two of the four pages. The first welcome page and the last page can be accessed but not the two in the middle.
I use iWeb 08, publish to a folder and upload via cyberduck. Has worked perfect so far but no longer does so now. When visiting the site locally in the "Web site" folder on my mac (or even pc) everything works fine, the two links can be accessed without problems. Only after uploading them the error message comes up. I uploaded from pc using FileZilla as an alternative but no changes.
Any suggestions are welcome!

Tom,
your suspicion was correct, there seems to be a problem with handling the German Umlauts. After renaming the links now work and the pages are found. Still unsanswered is why this problem only came up now after a new upload of the practically identical setup and why all links worked fine before... One of the million mysteries, I guess.
Thanks a lot though.

  • Missing page while converting Postscript files to PDF using Distiller 9.

    Hi
Due to some incorrect hexadecimal code in the post script, one of the pages is not getting created in the full pdf. So, we can say that the page is missing in the complete pdf file.
Here is my snapshot of the issue:
    1. Offending command issue on a particular post script data is coming up due to some incorrect hexadecimal data.
    2. If I run the postscript through Distiller 8, report is getting generated without any missing data.
    3. Whereas, if I run it throught Distiller 9.1.3, Distiller is ignoring the page due to following warning.
%%[ Error: typecheck; OffendingCommand: xshow ]%%
    Stack:
    41
    ( À
    4. If I run the same Postscript file in Distiller 9.3 (latest version), issue is going away.
    5. But I have another Report pdf with the same  issue but this time with a different hexadecimal exception.
%%[ Error: typecheck; OffendingCommand: xshow ]%%
    Stack:
    49
    (à øÀ øÀ øÿ€ üÿ€ üÿ€ üÿ€ üÿ€ þÿ€ þÿ€ þÿ€ þÿÀ þÀ þà þø?þ?ÿÿþ?ÿÿþ ÿÿþ ÿÿþ ÿýþ ÿùþ?ðà øÀ øÀ øÿ€ üÿ€ üÿ€ üÿ€ üÿ€ þÿ€ þÿ€ þÿ€ þÿÀ þÀ þà þø?þ?ÿÿþ?ÿÿþ ÿÿþ ÿÿþ ÿýþ ÿùþ ü%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
So, either way, even if I upgrade my version of Acrobat from 9.1.3 to 9.3, issue doesnt go away. I think the new Acrobat Distiller is buggy and introducing new problems when compared to Acrobat Distiller 9.
    1. Works fine Distiller 8.0
    2. More problems with 9.1.3
    3. Lesser problems with 9.3 but I cant upgrade to 9.3 unless i see all the missing page problem going away.
Can someone urgently look into this?
    Regards
    Hari

I am calling Distiller using command line.
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrodist.exe" /f/Q/N C:\Reporter\debug\report.dst
report.dst contains the the names of the post script files.
(I have already contacted Distiller server forum and I was told to post the request in Acrobat forum)

  • Indexing - Out of Sequence and Missing Page Numbers

I have a 296 page book. This is an on-going project and has been updated many times.
Two new sections have been added to this book. I have marked words for indexing.
My problem is that many of the page numbers are repeated or out-of-sequence.
    For example: Intake Manifolds 66, 67, 68, 69, 68, 87, 68, 69, 186, 189, 203
This is one item that is not in the new sections, so this should not have changed.
I also have noticed missing page numbers. I verified a 'Helmets & Accessories' marker on page 248 of the new section, but it doesn't show up in the index at all.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? I have searched the net for others having the same issues, but I haven't found many.
    IDCS4 on Mac Pro.
    Thanks.
    Randy

We are having the same problem! I'm using ID CS4 6.0.1 on a 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5 running OS X 10.5.6. For example, see below. The * represents a missing page number.
    Axle, Rear
    Alignment 163
    Fastener Torque 15
Magnetic Drain Plugs 28, 51, 27, 45 [note how out of sequence these are!!]
    Preventive Maintenance *, 145
CS3 was finally fixed by an Adobe patch, and as far as indexing big books went, became as solid as a rock. But now they have broken it again!! It is killing us, because we've switched 20 computers to CS4 only and updated all of our files, so we can't go back!
The only thing that seems to work is to find problem files and open the Index palette and click the Update Preview button. THEN you run your index, and sometimes it's fixed. A couple of "bad" files can spoil the whole barrel, but it's impossible to figure out which ones are bad, or even why they're bad. And when you finally fix one problem, by using the Update Preview button or by blowing away index markers and re-doing them, and getting rid of unused topics, the SAME PROBLEM will appear in other places related to other files in your book, that were "good" before!!!

  • Check for missing pages

At work we are using a scanner with a feeder to digitalize many of our company documents. On the first manual check I found there to be a few missing pages. If there a way to automate the "missing page check". Can i write a script to check for missing pages. I am fairly new to acrobat and OCR, but I am knowledgeable in programming. Any help would be appreciated.

The script as follows will give you the total number of pages in a document:
    console.println("There are " + this.numPages + " pages in this document");
Also go the the following link for the Adobe Development Centre - Documentation and References - Acrobat 9.1 SDK Documentation
There is a Javascript for API Reference which will give you some guidance.

  • Missing pages in ibook

I recently bought the latest volume of Robert Caro's biography of LBJ. In reading the book I have encountered missing pages and incorrect footnote links. Does anyone know if there are "updates" to digital books that a purchaser can download?

Some books do get updates, but it might just have been a problem with your download.
If you haven't already done so then you can try deleting the book from the iPad via the Edit button at the top right of the bookshelf and then re-download by going into the ibookstore (via the Store button at the top left of the bookshelf) and then the Purchased tab. If it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • Book missing pages

Purchased 2 books from iTunes book store recently and found both have quite a few missing pages, and errors such as "blacked-out" graphics. What would be a good way to get the missing pages back to continue my reading, and to correct the errors in the e-book? Also what's the best way to prevent the errors happening when downloading books or other products from Apple Store? Would appreciate any helpful advice.
    -Grant

Have you tried deleting the 2 ibooks and re-downloading them ? If they still download with missing chapters and/or graphics then you could use the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1933

  • Why do I loose page content from a tab when I switch to another tab? I have to refresh to restore the missing page content.

When I have multiple tabs open, I loose some or most of the page display contents when I leave that tab and then come back to it. I have to either refresh the tab to get the full page display back, OR I can click another tab and then quickly click back to the tab with missing page display. This will restore the display of all page content.

Could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
[[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • 404 missing page error in infoview

After logging in to infoview, the user gets a 404 missing page error in infoview when they try to schedule a report. Can you please let me know if the source for this error is a firewall issue?
    Thanks.

We have tried clearing out cache. That did not help. I will check on browser version. Also have few more users unable to schedule. Permissions are okay. They ran one report on the schedule and it completed. But when they scheduled 10 reports to run on one server group which has one adaptive job server and one webi server, the reports did not run. They were scheduled in 30 minute intervals to run starting 12 in the night. All failed immediatly - my take on this is at least the first one should have run since theere was a 3o minute ineterval between that one and the second report. (But it ran during the day when scheduled to run)
Got a Unexpected exception caught. Reason: [java.lang.NullPointerException: i_statusInfo is null.] error. Usually that error is a memory error, right? Even if it was , not sure why the first one did not run. I had scheduling issues on another webiserver as well and I also have a trace log for that server. Looks like attachments cannot be uploaded. Can be it emailed to you?

  • BO Explorer - 404 missing page

We have an Edge standard licence.  BO is installed using all defaults (i.e. WACS).  BO Explorer now installed but url computer-name:6405/polestar returns a missing page.  What is missing from the polestar or BO instal?

    Hi,
Did you get any option to select the Application Server on which you want Explorer to be deployed while installation.
As far as i know, WACS will be considered when the users have the BOE deployed on .Net application server and CMC is not available in .Net. So, to access the CMC a Java based application Server will be used ie, WACS but for other applications it uses the normal .Net application server.
So, check whether the Explorer has been deployed either in IIS or in WACS server.

  • Automator download URL missing pages?

I've just learned automator and created some automator script to download a daily epaper and convert it to pdf. everything works fine except the 'download URL' part, where it misses some pages. The missing pages are always the same on a given day, but varies daily (eg. yesterday its missing page 3, today its missing page 4 on 2 script runs). I've checked the availability of the pages thru web browser and they exists. Anyone with similar experiences or have any solutions on this? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

i'm using custom variables because the web folder varies with current date. I've checked the 'Get Value of Variable' result and all the URLs are there. I've tried typing the exact address on web browser and the image load up fine, so there should be no problem with the URLs.
I'll try the Get Link URLs from Webpages action and let u know the result. Thanks for ur help.

  • Very intermittent missing page regions / report rows / page item values

My goals in making this posting are twofold:
    1. I'm looking to see if anyone else has experienced this type of issue before.
    2. I'm looking for ideas about what can be done to debug such an infrequent bug with serious implications.
    Synopsis
I'm having a weird problem where very infrequently I will load a page and I'll notice that one or more page regions, report rows, or page item values are missing. If I reload the page the missing parts appear as they normally should.
By "very infrequently" I would say it happens to me somewhere between 1 in 100 and 1 in 1000 page loads, of course at my last project demonstration in happened twice in 10 minutes to my demo participants. I've attempted to debug this, but most of the techniques I know of involve reloading the page or reposting the form data and (of course) everything looks fine then.
    Environment
    * This has happened on multiple different pages, under ApEx 3.1 (Linux) and 3.2 (Solaris).
    * I believe that so far I've only ever seen this under Firefox 3/3.5 under OSX, but since I do the vast majority of my development with this browser it's not reasonable to conclude that it only happens under Firefox.
    Logs
    * No application errors during this timeframe.
    * Nothing of significance in the database alerts log (just thread notes and log sequences).
    * Nothing of significance in the webserver log (just the usual mod_ossl connection errors).
    Thanks for your attention,
    Jason
Edited by: Jason G on Jul 24, 2009 12:43 PM

Well, thanks for reading the post anyway.
While working through some debugging steps I realized that I was populating some of the regions as the page rendered using AJAX -- this would pause the page rendering until the AJAX request returned. I believe that a hanging AJAX call was the likely culprit of the very intermittent symptoms I was seeing.
I moved the AJAX calls to the last region of the page and added a javascript function that "watches the page load" by checking for regions by ID and looking at javascript boolean flags to let me know when the page is fully rendered. If this process takes longer than 5 seconds it notifies the user that something happened and offers to reload the page for them in an effort to fix the issue.
So far, so good -- but it will take a lot of testing to convince me that this case is solved. I hope my documenting this is helpful for others in similar situations.
    Good luck,
    Jason

  • Missing pages in PDF export

In Indesign CS4, when I export a 48 page document to PDF the last few pages are always missing. I've trying anything but I can't make it print the whole document.

I don't run Vista, so what I know is based on other posts, but the first thing to check is which folder did you install into? For Vista 64 it's important to install in the default location, which means most things should be in the (x86) Program files folder.
Next, can you EXPORT the file successfully, and are you printing, rather than exporting, for a particular reason?
Is it always the same number of pages missing? Is there anything common about the first page that's missing in the prints? Any .eps images? What about fonts?
What happens if you try exporting the document to .inx or .idml, then open those in ID and print to PDF?

  • Missing pages in printed document

Some topics are missing in the printed document. What could be the reason for this? I have tried and tried but could not get those pages printed.

    Welcome to the RH forums.
Perhaps you could give us some additional information which would help us here. What version of RH are you using? Is the problem only in one project or on one PC? Is it the same pages that are always missing? Are they always missing from the start, middle, end? That sort of thing.
For a start, check that you have included all the required pages correctly. Check out this link.  Also check to see if you have any Conditional Build Tags that could be filtering out the topics you are expecting to see.
