Missing patterns in photoshop cs6
So I wanted to make this text in photoshop: http://www.iceflowstudios.com/2012/tutorials/photoshop-beer-text-st-patricks-day/
When I got to step 11 I noticed my patterns do not have clouds in them to give the foam the effect it needs. I know that clouds is supposed to come with the pattern pack included with photoshop. I do have creative suite 6 design standard but I am wondering why I do not see default patterns like clouds in my patterns.

Hi there -
Have you made sure that the correct Filter Gallery is loaded? When you Pattern Overlay in the Layer Styles dialog, click on the small gear icon when you go to pick a pattern. Click on Patterns.
You should now be able to select the Cloud pattern from the new list.
If you are still not seeing this pattern, post again - we may need to provide you with more technical assistance.

Missing icons from Photoshop CS6
I don't know if anyone has run into this problem, but there's a discussion going on about it in the Adobe Photoshop forums. Taking it here to see if it's an OS problem or a Photoshop problem.
When saving a file from Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, file icons will not be saved with any format (forget about the alpha channel docs) - png, tif, jpg, psd, etc. I booted from my Lion Installer flash drive, repaired permissions and disk and some icon previews reappeared. Some didn't. No generic icon or anything. My Photoshop prefs are set to save a preview on the icons, as are with the 3 other Mac users who have reported the same problem.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Does anyone have a solution. Adobe seems to be pointing the finger at Apple but, I have to admit, employees at Adobe seem stymied as well.

ClintonOk, this is going to sound dumb, but, I found a work-around (at least on my local mac) for the missing icons & previews.
The bad: I am having is when I save a CS6 .PSD, .TIF, .JPG, .ETC files, I get no icons or previews in finder...
The good: if I rename the file inside a search results window, then a preview & icon is genererated giving me a glimse of what the file contents are.
The bad: the new preview only shows up in the search results window, if I open the enclosing folder, the new preview is gone... where the renaming thing doesn't do anything with the preview or icon...
The sad face: Apple? Adobe? Anyone?
My first copy of PhotoShop was a beta of 1.0 that I got from Nikon way back in the "oh no you can't do that on a Mac" days and have been using Apple products before that... I have never seen such a blant UI issue that has gone on for so long without a fix. Shame, shame, shame... -
Msvcp100.dll is missing when opening Photoshop CS6
When I click to open Photoshop, I get this message about 5 or 6 times and then Photoshop opens. It has been working fine for a long time.

My solution, uninstall the NIK update that appeared unanounced in my programs on 10/30. Reinstall from original .exe file received from Google in May, all is well again. Where did this update come from??????? -
I am suddenly unable to save or retrieve patterns in PS CS6
my computer crashed and was serviced. Now I'm unable to save or retrieve the latest saved patterns in Photoshop CS6, or save new ones. The program freezes and I get an error message "cannot load the patterns because of a disk problem". When I save patterns,
they don't show up on the pull down menu at all. What can I do? I'm told I need a new hard drive for my computer but I want to save all the patterns and other presets before I do that. Please help. Thank youMoving this discussion to the Photoshop General Discussion forum.

Missing 3d tools in Photoshop CS6 extended
Hi everyone, I thought that I would seek help here before I endure the agony of Adobe technical help. I just installed the upgrade to CS6 Design and Web Premium yesterday. Received my email for the free upgrade yesterday morning and all went fine for the download and install as far as I can tell.
Both the flash screen as well as the about Photoshop screen show CS6 extended, yet I have no 3D tools at all, either in the menu or toolbar. This is the case both with my laptop and desktop.
I have the latest drivers for my video cards and "use graphic processor" is checked in preferences. Am I just being stupid and missing something (entirely possible), or does anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions.

3D Tools missing Photoshop CS6 Extended
Hi gang
I'm having the no 3D Tools problem on my laptop. I have the latest CS6 update installed. I'm thinking it's some video driver or card issue. Any help is much appriciated

There is the issue: 256 MB is not enough for 3D. You need at least 512MB for the current version of Photoshop CS6 (13.1)

Photoshop CS6 Startup Script Missing from Bridge CC
Hi. After downloading a Photoshop CS6 update, Camera Raw unlinked from Bridge CS6. I have a full CC subscription so I downloaded Bridge CC and that solved the problem. Now Photoshop does not appear in the 'tools' menu. It is missing from the Startup Script list in preferences as well. Where can I find or download the photoshop script?

restart Bridge holding down option (Mac) or ctrl (Win) key ad from the menu choose reset references. Try again. BTW, the start up scripts from the needed applications for Bridge Tool menu are in Bridge preferences / Start up scripts, they should show and have a checkmark in front of them. -
I am missing the add objects section from the fly out menu in Photoshop CS6. 3d workspace
I am missing the "add objects" section from the fly out menu in Photoshop CS6. I am in the 3D workspace of Photoshop. "Scene" is highlighted and I have clicked on the little fly out menu in the upper right hand corner of that panel. The whole section that should contain, Add objects, delete objects, duplicate objects, all the way through reverse order is missing. The add lights section above and render section below it is there. I am not new to Photoshop, but I am new to the 3D section of Photoshops work space.
I do know about creating a new layer in the layers tab and merging the objects together trick. But I kind of would like for the program to work correctly as I am sure that doing it that way will cause some sort of problems later in the work process.

Photoshop says that my software is up to date. I use Photoshop daily and everything else works just fine. I have looked through this forum and there is someone else who had the same issue as me but their question was not given a solution. So that is why I choose to post it again.

Mark.I've made tests with four different 3rd party tools: OpenGL Extension Viewer, GPU Caps Viewer, Compute4Cash OpenCL Diagnostic Tool and Mudlord's Glide3x wrapper tester. All those tools report no problems with my video card driver and OpenGL/CL.
I have contacted nVidia and based on reports from the tools and visual tests from GPU Caps Viewer nVidia support doesn't see a problem with my driver.
I found sniffer_gpu.exe which according to Adobe Help pages is a kind of diagnostic tool and determines whether Photoshop uses the graphic card OpenCL or not. Here is the output:

On the other hand, I have your word that there is no problem with Photoshop not recognizing OpenCL for my card and that nVidia driver has problems. Can you justify this somehow? Perhaps you could provide more details on technical level, or another utility to run and extract details, to at least identify the problem Photoshop has and hopefully solve it on either side.
P.S. During tests there were two things which I noticed, but they are probably not related to the issue:
1. One tool reports the lack of Windows registry key SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows (NT)/CurrentVersion/OpenGLDrivers. But according to your previous statement, Photoshop only uses OS calls, no registry and according to nVidia, this key is not used in Windows 7.
2. During some tests GPU Caps Viewer reports that "OpenCL CPU not supported on the selected platform". This is not complaining about GPU, only about CPU. But Photoshop is complaining about GPU, so it shouldn't be relevant. -
What is missing from Photoshop CS6 ???
I tried the new PhotoShop CS6 (beta) but aside from some innovations of which my favorite is the interface (The interface is one of the best innovation that Adobe have made finally an interface that does not make you eyes hurt) and content aware move tool (content aware is definitely the best technology in Photoshop, may in the future in Photoshop CS20 will be voice-activated and will do exactly what you say even to draw for you) and maybe the new brushis, nothing that new, especially for those who draw in Photoshop concept artists, Ilustrators and so on ... etc
In my opinion what is missing from the famous Photoshop CS 6 and should have been is :
1 : Live symmetry drawing (horizontal and vertical) even the simplest programs like Alchemy / Sketchbook Pro and new Painter 12 has the function they have gone beyond the horizontal and vertical with the function of Kaleidoscope. I really like how the brush works in Alchemy especially in symmetry, in Sketchbook Pro are not so good in symmetry, unless thei are round but if you have a strange shapes thei tend to function as a parallel very strange but it is ther why the famous Photoshop does not have this function ??? I hoped that in PS CS6 (beta) to be, but no, I do hope maybe in the CS7 will be,
2: I would like to make several sets of brushes, but in different windows on the screen at the same time not only a big one something like Corel Painter 12
3: If you put a 3d function why do you tried to do something like the Google SketchUP fast, simple to use and easy to learn, or a simplified version of ZBrush sculpture in 3d clay ???
Ok now let's talk about Bridge CS6: same functions, nothing so new, I hope that in the cs6 to implement something like the function of ACDSee Photo Manager 12 for example:
Preview Thumbnails in a files, shortcuts that can be modified, such as double click I want to open fullscreen preview not send in photoshop or Camera Raw etc, why not the same as Photoshop, to make what I want to what I want, preview window to have the option of framing the image even if it is small or large (fit image, reduce or enlarge) the same for full screen mode the image will be framed by the edges of the screen (fit image height or widthand reduce or enlarge) from there if you want 100%, 200% etc. and many others
What is right, there are many other features that I like and love in Bridge much more than ACDSee 12 such as preview multiple images at the same time in preview window and Review Mode (one of my favorite) and many others but ... ... I have adobe photoshop CS6 and I am trying to use the analysis tools but all of them except for the ruler tool are unavailable. Am I missing certain plug ins?

Photoshop cs6 will not open "missing componants"
I have been getting this error pop up when trying to open photoshop "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." Why do i get this error when trying to open photoshop cs6 on my Mac (mountain lion) it has worked previously. How can i fix this???

I had to replace the hard drive on my computer. I am now trying to download Adobe Photoshop CS6, previously purchased. I get an error that files are missing after waiting for the whole download. I have Windows7

I am able to click on a pic in iphoto to edit it and opens automatically in photoshop CS6. However when I am done editing and save I can not save back into Iphoto. Can any one help wiht this?
Thanks Terence. What a relief. I still don't understand what the book I read was talking about then. Here's a quote from the section I was referring to in "iPhoto 08: The Missing Manual" book, p 91 (ISBN: 0596-516185):
"Note, however, that the instant you edit a TIFF-format photo (Chapter 7), iPhoto converts it into JPEG.
That's fine if you plan to order prints or a photo book (Chapter 11) from iPhoto, since JPEG files are required for those purposes. After my test results, I thought maybe this was something that had changed from iPhoto 08 to iPhoto 09, so I went to the bookstore yesterday and checked the same book for iPhoto 09, and there it was, the same quote! (on a different page, of course).

Screen mode with floating windows missing in Photoshop cs6?
Hi,
How can I show two images open in Photoshop CS6 - next to each other?
Going through the screen modes by pressing F like in Photoshop CS5 doesn't get me there. That screen mode with the floating windows seems to be missing.
I need it for comparisions and for dragging layers between the two images.
Is the floating window screen mode achievable in CS6 or how else can I put two opened images next to each other on Photoshop's workspace?

It's so amusing: you get a new version of Photoshop and one of your well-known features is not where it used to be. Immediately an ancient fear takes over that the feature might have gone away.
Which is, of course, never happening. There's even "sharpen" and "sharpen more" available in Photoshop.
Bottom line: the new way of doing things are actually even better. You just need to pull the images off their tabs. -
Shared menu missing when saving from Photoshop CS6
I'm using Yosemite on an iMac and I am currently connected to two servers. I can open and save files from just about every application except Photoshop CS6. For example, I click File > Open and the shared menu isn't there with the servers listed underneath. Also, if I try to Save As, that dialog box is missing the shared menu with the servers listed as well. I've been working around it by opening files from Finder, or by opening recent folders from those servers, but if the server I need to save to isn't recent, it becomes a problem. I'm a graphic designer and I work with Photoshop a lot, so I really need this to work. Is there a preference I'm not seeing that will put the shared menu back on the Open and Save As dialog boxes?
I take that back. I just downloaded the update 10.10.1 and the shared menu is back. Thank you! That makes my life so much easier!
