Missing PCI to Cardbus Bridge driver

HI, all.
I just bought a Lenovo T30 on eBay, with WinXp Pro installed.
The service partition is gone, as nothing happens when I try to invoke system recovery when the IBM screen appears at startup.
In Device Manager, the PCI to Cardbus Bridge is highlighted with a question mark, and a request for a driver appears every time I start Windows. I can't find a driver anywhere.
The system also doesn't detect the mini-PCI wireless card I just installed. Are the two problems related?
I tried installing and running System Update, but it stops with an error: "Not enough disk space"
Could anyone help me solve these problems?

Yes, sure. I'm trying to use all of five PCI slots, and after slot chnge I,m setting Reset Configuration data in BIOS.
result is the same in all Card positions. Card is detected, but not working corectly.
I'm trying to resolve any hardware conflicts by disabling all od internal mothebrord components like IEE1394 Audio, Serial Ata and others - no cahnges, no solutions ....

Missing file for VIA4.43 driver update

I just downloaded the 4in1443v.exe driver and ran the 'normal' install. I then found that one of the installations leaves windows searching for a driver file - you know, where you have to point it to a file location to find a .inf file. This was looking for the driver for the "VIA Standard PCI to ISA Bridge". What on earth am I supposed to do here? I don't know where to seartch for this file. If I cancel, I go through the same ritual on every reboot. Should I have this file somewhere?
System is a K7TTurbo2, Athlon Tbird 1.4GHz, 256RAM, Windows98 SE

Bas gave me a great tip for this.
Most of these programs are exe. now to make it easier for us (yeh, whatever).
Extract or "unzip" the exe. file with WinRar into a seperate folder and on reboot, point to that folder.
Should install without a problem.

I have configured my iMac with Boot Camp. Have installed Windows. Missing the nvidia geforce 8800gs driver. The install disc # 1 won't run and none of the nvidia drivers work. The nvidia driver from their site does not work. Any suggestions.

Those .plist files are used by many applications to hold customizations. That one you show for the application Dashboard contains your choices for the different widgets you use and will remember your settings for which widgets you want to be active.
Any changes you make to your Dashboard setting will be updated to that .plist file, for next time.
The .plist file is involved, but it does not contain the widgets themselves (which are like little web apps), but rather choices you make about which ones you choose to use and personal settings etc..
If you add a widget, then open Dashboard, that .plist should automatically get updated. You won't need to copy it over.

I'm trying to use a JDBC-ODBC bridge driver but I don't know what is the URL I need to put inside a the "getConnection (String URL, String userid, String passwd)" method.

but maybe Edgar should know that he first has to add a ODBC datasource.
in WINNT
Goto System ODBC Datasources and try to connect to your DB.
If the test is working than you can use the name you have chosen
as URL

Can't find jdbc-odbc bridge driver

I've installed sdk 2.0 (v1.4.1) and am getting the runtime error:
"Exception in thread main java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError <prog name>/class" from the java prompt.
I suspect it is the jdbc-odbc bridge driver that is the problem. It should have downloaded with the SD 2.0 installation, but I can't find it on my NT PC.
Any ideas?

I suspect you are using,java <program_name>.class to execute your program.
Then it will try to find the promram 'class' in the package '<program_name>'.
You need to use, java <program_name>, thats all.
For eaxample if you have Prg1.java, then use,
'javac Prg1.java' to compile it and 'java Prg1' to run it.

I'm a 4th year computer science student and have a final year project to do using databases. My problem is finding a JDBC:ODBC driver/bridge(what's the difference?).Every tutorial on the web says use the
sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver, that's all well and good but where do I get it?I've tried downloading JDBC API's but still no joy. When I do finally find a driver do I need to copy it to the folder where the rest of my project is,
(that's what I had to do for a mysql driver I had to use before). I want to use Microsoft Access with the project for portability and ease of alteration, do I need to set up an ODBC driver for my database as well as using the JDBC:ODBC bridge?
That probably came out like complete double dutch but I hope someone out there can make sense of it and help me.

Basic info on your particular problem:
JDBC defines an 'interface' that allows one to access databases. That usually consists of serveral parts: the database, the interface layer, the jdbc driver and jdbc itself.
JDBC comes with java. In addition a single jdbc driver, the 'jdbc-odbc bridge' driver comes with java. To use that particular driver you also need the 'interface layer' which for MS Acess will mostly already be available to you - basically the ODBC shell (not part of java) and the MS Access ODBC driver (also not part of java.)
Keep in mind that the jdbc-odbc bridge driver uses the ODBC that is already on the box. ODBC itself is not part of the driver.
You will probably need to configure ODBC for use as a 'DSN' (Data Source Name?). To do that you go to the control panel and use the ODBC (Data Sources) applet. Pick 'System DSN' (a panel in the dialog), push 'Add' and follow the prompts by picking a MS Access driver. You can either use 'create' or 'select' at the end to create or use an existing database.
If this seems like too much work then search the JDBC forum using "DSN-less" as the search string. The discussions there will tell you how to set up a connect string without creating a DSN.

I'm implementing a web site for a small company, so will be using MS Access for the database.
Will a JDBC-ODBC Bridge driver be suitable?
I ask this as I have heard that JDBC-ODBC Bridge drivers are only suitable for testing purposes - not commercial use.

Ideally, you should use a third-party driver in your implementation. Not that there's anything wrong with the JDBC-ODBC Driver, but like you said, Sun never really intended it to be used for mainstream applications. It was developed to serve as a generic driver until third party drivers could be developed and released. Now that there's plenty of good third party drivers out there, the use of the JdbcOdbcDriver is really not recommended. Here's a list of current drivers available for MS Access.

For connecting to mysql i need to use com.mysql.jdbc.driver too in the same code.
How to do that?

Weblogic -Sybase Bridge driver Problem

I am using the weblogic server 6.1 (in production mode)with sybase anyware 6.0
and
i am using the bridge driver to connect to database.
I have tried using the own implementation of coonection pool and also the poool
functionality provided by the weblogic.
It some times give s me the error as follows:
1) Authentication violation
--Only when i am firing the delete or insert or update queries.
2) too many connection to the the database ,database rejected the connection.
Can u give the sample code where in i can use connection pool.
I am creating the one datasource instance in the init method of my main controller
servlet and then i am pasing this datasource to the constuctor of the util classes
and the action classes.
The problem is that also sometimes calls the destroy method of the controller
servlet and which again creates a new datasource.
Is there any timeout setting to be done for the post request which can solve this
problem.

I am geeting the datasource look up properly.
But i am getting the following errors sometime:
1) too many connections to the database.
2)authentication violation.

2)authentication violation.Create a small standalone java program that
successfuly connects to the server and use those
settings to setup the connection pool.
Just FYI, JDBC-ODBC driver is unsupported,
and not thread-safe. You will likely not be able
to use it in production. I'd try to switch to a
fat Sybase server and corresponding JDBC driver.

I'm looking for a PCI Simple communications controller driver suitable on Windows 7 x64.
Does this have anything to do with Bluetooth? Because the Bluetooth is not working 100%, Nokia Suite does not recognize the Bluetooth device on my laptop.
The Bluetooth symbol is in the taskbar, but only when i use "fn"+f12(wireless com.) after startup
