Missing pdf file

Hi
I was working on a PDF file for a long time, just highlighting some text and using sticky notes. I have used to save the file frequently at the same location. Suddenly I found out that the file is missing from that location. Tried to search it on other locations or at recycle bin but with no success.
Can anyone help me with that please?

That sounds strange. businesscircle_logosgray.pdf is the spiral image above the word "Company" in the template. I assume you deleted it, when you made your own templates. It is supposed to be a place holder to replace with another image.
I would probably try recreating your new template and keep the image just in case. You could also try creating a new blank template and paste everything from the business template except that image. Hope you manage to sort it out.

Reinstall the program. This is caused by incompatible updates to Acrobat/ Adobe Reader that introduce new versions of the globally shared PDF libraries.

  • Missing PDF file icons

I installed generic Microsoft drivers for a new moniter, and all of my Acrobat file icons disappeared.  Actually, all of my Adobe program icons disappeared as well, but I've been able to find some of them on my system.  But while I still have the file icons for Illustrator and Photoshop (CS2), I can't seem to find how to get the PDF file icons back.  I've tried changing the opening program to something else and changing back, that didn't help.  I even tried to change the file type in the Explorer window and that didn't help.  I can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere, so I was hoping someone here knows what to do.  I'm running Acrobat 7 on WinXP SE2.

The Acrobat subscription is about $19.99 per month for Pro. You can also purchase the full product for $499. Your answer may vary depending on your OS (PC or MAC). If something just changed, you might try a repair (open Acrobat and go to Help>repair. Then do updates also.). For more help, provide info on the version of Acrobat and the OS details.

  • Missing .pdf file when loading template

    Hey everybody,
I just switched from a PC to a Mac and found Pages pretty cool. I'm running the trial and made a few templates based on the business letter template that was included with the pre-installed Pages 2 on my MacBook. When opening my template I end up with a window showing me an error message that the file "businesscircle_logosgray.pdf" is missing. My template then opens up correctly but the error message is showing up every time I open it. When I copy its contents into an empty document and save it to another template it works 2 - 3 times but then I get the same error. The business letter template opens perfectly without any errors.
Is there any way to solve that problem?
    Thank you in advance

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 can't make pdf files in 2003 Word

    Hello, Can you help me?
I purchased Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro four years ago when I went onto Windows 7 as I needed the 64 bit version. Prior to this I had Adobe Acrobat 7.
Recently I have been unable to make PDF files in Word although it is working in all the other Word applications and through the HP scanner.
It also won’t make PDF files through the Adobe programme and comes up with the message “Missing PDF files”and the repair command fails to save the problem.
I am using Word 2003 but prior to now the programme has worked without a problem.
Can you tell me how to solve the problem as I need the facility as I manage numerous websites for different charities.
My serial number is 1118-1780-5717-0649-5947-1289 and I am reluctant to unload the programme incase I can’t reload it.
I have tried to load Acrobat 7 onto my laptop which still has Windows Vista on it.  The serial number for this is 1016-1284-2194-6099-0208-1387 but it refuses to activate this.  Can you advise me on this ?
    I am desperate..
    Many thanks, Sheila

  • Error message: Missing PDF maker files in Word 2007

OK, I am beyond frustrated. I have had nothing but trouble with Windows Vista and Adobe Acrobat. Please help!!!
What happens: first, the pdf addin for Word 2007 suddenly becomes disabled, for no apparent reason. Forget about trying to re-enable it through the Add-Ins menu, because Word tells me that the "connected state of Office Add-Ins registered in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE cannot be changed". This is a problem for me, because I use a special font (Vietnamese) that sometimes gets corrupted when running pdf maker. The only consistent way I have found to avoid this problem is to run the pdf maker as "Quick PDF" and as far as I can see that option is only available through the pdf addin in Word, I have never been able to find it when I open the Acrobat program and create a pdf from there.
Second problem: shortly after the pdf addin becomes disabled, my Acrobat program loses the ability to create pdfs altogether. I get the error message "Missing PDF maker files". Yes, I have tried repairing the installation and re-starting my computer per the instructions given. It doesn't fix the problem. I also tried looking in the Knowledge Database on this website, but it appears that the instructions they have to fix the problem there are for earlier versions of Word, not 2007, because my version of word does not look like the version of Word in their little videos.
This is the second time this has happened. The first time I resolved the problem by a) re-installing Acrobat, which is a pain because it involves calling Adobe and wading through their customer service to get a new installation number, and b) paying a computer repair service to dig deep into the guts of my computer and convince it to change the Office Add-ins to allow the pdf addin again. It worked for about 6 months, and now I have the same problem again. For some reason Vista is spontaneously disabling Acrobat.
I simply cannot deal with this every few months. We all know that Vista is a crappy program, but I run a business and I need a program that works with whatever crappy program Microsoft puts out. Please, can anyone give me suggestions about how to re-enable these functions when Vista disables them?
    Thanks in advance!
    Alycia

  • Saving a report as a PDF file - missing bitmaps

    Reports 6.0.8.11.3 - Oracle 8.0.5
I have reports that include graphic logos displayed into REPEATING FRAMES - they are stored into long raw fields, and the format specified for the frames in the reports is OLE2.
ALL IS OK AS LONG AS I PREVIEW AND PRINT THE REPORTS AS USUAL.
If I specify FORMAT=PDF and try to save a PDF file copy of those reports, they are perfect, but the logos are missing.
I tried to specify an IMAGE format for the repeating frames, but the problem persists and I get an "unsupported data type" error message.
Is there a workaround? Sadly, I must use the PDF format, so I ask Your help to know whether there is a way to include raster graphics into a PDF generated by Oracle Reports.
    Thank You so much.

    Hi Cesare,
From the on-line help, PDF Restrictions:
"OLE objects are ignored when generating PDF or HTML, but space is reserved for these objects in the output."
However, raster images are supported if they come from a file or the database. So, if you have actual image files, you can include them by reading them in from file. See the help topic on "image" for all the various options for including images in a report, dynamically or statically.
    regards,
    Stewart

  • How do I reattach missing AI files using a PDF document

Thanks in advance for reading this!
I am converting an InDesign document to ePub and mobi. The document also exists as a PDF file (which, as you may know, can not be converted effectively to ePub).
The InDesign file has been supplied to me with missing .ai links for charts and graphs. There are lo-res  images in their places.
I could manually import individual charts from the PDF file  into Illustrator, but there are dozens of them and relinking will be a huge job as it is. Any suggestions on how to transform all charts and graphs in the PDF file to .ai files OR import them directly into InDesign?
    Many thanks

You print to the Adobe PDF printer. AA X was substantially modified to meet the newer needs of OFFICE 2007 and 2010, making PDF Maker incompatible with OFFICE 2003. You should still be able to print just fine, but the features you may want will not be available unless you upgrade MS too.

  • Missing text in PDF file

    Hi,
I've just receive pdf file. When I open it it doens't show some text. Not all, just some of the text. When I open the same file in Gmail, the text is there. What is the problem with preview? I don't have anything like Adobe Acrobat. Just Mac OS X.
And also I don't see the text in iPhone/iPad.
    In Windows, everything is ok.
Can I fix it somehow? The file I've received was invoice and some important text was missing...
    Thanks for any advice

Given it's a problem on both platforms suggests the PDF has a specific incompatibility with Apple's core PDF rendering technologies. While it still could be a font, the only way to address this for the iPad and iPhone would be to edit and re-save the PDF.
Adobe Reader is available for iOS, so if it ultimately is a matter of viewing the PDF then this may be the only option. The alternative is to have the creator make another version that uses different fonts or otherwise tweaks it to display properly.
There are other PDF viewers available as well, so Adobe's is not the only solution. It's just one example of what you can do to view the PDFs.

    Hi Ryan,
This is not an Acrobat related issue, it is related to your local user profile, I will recommend you to contact your network administrator so that he can help you to create a shared user profile on the network.

  • PDF file pages missing when viewed in Adobe Reader XI

    Hi All,
I have been made aware of a recent issue when viewing scanned PDF files in Adobe Reader XI. Pages are missing when the PDF file is viewed in Adobe Reader v.11.0.x though all pages are visible when file is viewed in Adobe Reader 10.1.5?
I can confirm I have checked Show large images option under Preferences -> Page -> Display, though this doesn't appear to have made a difference. I have been able to replicate this same issue on several other machines.
All machines checked and tested are running Windows 7 (64-bit).
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Never heard of such an issue.  Can you share such a PDF with the forum?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1408375

  • Installed Adobe Pro X now unable to convert PDF - Missing PDFMaker Files

    Hello,
I installed the trial version of Adobe Pro X and now I am unable to convert a Microsoft Word.doc file to .pdf.  The error message is 'Missing PDFMaker Files.  Do you want to run the installer to repair mode?'  I ran the installer, twice, with the same resulting error message.  (Am currently using Windows XP Pro along with Microsoft 2003 - and will upgrade in the new year.)  I searched this issue, and found the following:
To manage your Disabled Items list in a Microsoft Office application:
Open the Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, Publisher).
Choose Help > About [the application name].
    Click Disabled Items.
Select Adobe PDF from the list, and then click Enable.
Quit the Microsoft Office application, and then restart it.
However, there are no applications in the list, including Adobe.
    I also tried this:
If the error message continues to appear after you enable Adobe PDF, check the security level for macros in Microsoft Word:
Choose Tools > Macro > Security.
In the Security dialog, click the Security tab.
    Choose Medium or High.
    Do one of the following:
If you chose Medium, then click OK.
If you chose High, then continue with steps 5 through 7.
    Click the Trusted Publishers tab.
Check Trust all installed add-ins and templates.
    Click OK.
And Adobe is already there, so no change here.
I have uninstalled the trial version, deleted what visible remnants I could find, restarted the computer, installed the trial version again and am getting the same error message.
Is there a solution to this problem?  Or, should I just return to my Adobe Pro 7?
    Thank you in advance!
    Laura

I recently bought and installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro thinking that X Pro was compatable with Windows XP. I am unable to convert any Microsoft Office 2003 file into a PDF. I receive the same error message as above ( "Missing PDFMaker Files") and tried running it in repair mode as suggested. No change.
    I've tried this stuff:
    Click OK.
    But there is no change.
    Please help!!!

  • Xref table is missing when a pdf file is created with acrobat distiller 9.0.0

    Hi
I created a pdf file with the new acrobat distiller 9.0.0 and i noticed that the xref table is missing in it.
Whereas the pdf files which created in older version (acrobat distiller 7.0.5) had the xref tables.
As i have written a perl script to open the pdf files (used a ready made module downloaded form cpan.org). The script works fine with all old pdf files but fails when it tries to open the pdf files created with distiller 9.0.0.
Could i know is any thing changed on acrobat distiller 9.0.0 ?
    Thanks
