Missing Photos after Upgrading to 1.5.3

I wanted to ask anyone if they've had the problem I've had after upgrading to ver. 1.5.3. Once this upgrade was done, and I opened Aperture, I noticed that lots of photos seems to be missing. Seemed to be from July of 2006 to current. These photos were stored in several projects that I created simply listed as months (ie. 0701-Photos) meaning Jan of 2007 photos, etc.
These projects and their photos are not to be seen now. I'm hoping there're on my hard drive somewhere. I've tried to rebuild library but no luck.
If anyone has any ideas... Please! Thanks!

If you have an updated Vault try recovering from there.
If not, in the Finder ctrl+click on Aperture's Library and 'show package contents'. In there you'll see the projects. Ctrl+click on one with missing images and 'show package contents' again. If you can see the masters there they should be recovered by rebuilding the Library.
Check also that you don't have anything written on the searching box on the top right of the browser, by default should say 'Unrated or Better'. You might have written something and it's showing the filtered results.

  • Missing photos after upgrade from iPhoto 08 to 11

I just updated iPhoto from '08 (v7.1.5) to '11 (v9.5) and I opened a copy of my old '08 library.  Unfortunately iPhoto '11 does not show any events or photos from this library.  If I view the contents of the library in Finder I see that it still contains a 40 GB 'Originals' folder, but the 'Masters' folder is empty.  Is there a more involved upgrade procedure - that is, instead of simply choosing the old '08 library upon start up?
I saw this earlier question https://discussions.apple.com/message/23844703#23844703. Though the problem sounds similar the solutions was to give up on importing and adding the photos manually.  There must be a way to preserve my albums, no?
    Thanks.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Missing Airdrop after upgrade to Mavericks  ( runing 8 g i5 mac pro)

Actually, the Evernote extension thing was just a coincidence.
It seems the real culprit is the firewire mixer connected to the laptop. After a reboot, I often have to shut the mixer off and then turn it back on before things start working properly.
Chrome is not the only software affected either. So far, I've discovered iTunes and Safari are also basically crippled after a reboot until I turn the mixer off.
Something is wrong with Maverick's implementation of FireWire, I'm afraid. I've written about cracking and popping noises I get from QuickTime when playing audio over FireWire.
    Something just ain't right.

  • Has anybody lost imported photos after upgrading to Lion? (iphoto11)

Has anybody lost imported photos after upgrading to Lion? (iphoto11)

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • What happened to my photos after upgrading to IOS 8

What happened to my photos after upgrading to IOS 8.0.2? How do I recover them?j

    Hi arnpa,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you've updated your iOS device to iOS 8, the photos should still be on the device. The photos will be organized differently than they were previously, though.
In iOS 8, the Photos app organizes photos by date instead of by device or photo source. Here are some questions you might have about Photos after updating to iOS 8.
Where can I find the Camera Roll?
The Photos app in iOS 8 doesn't separate photos and videos based on how they were added to your device. Instead of a Camera Roll, your photos and videos (even ones that you didn't take with or save to your device) are organized by date in Photos.
When you open the Photos app and tap the Photos tab, you'll see your photos and videos listed by Moments, Collections, and Years. Tap Moments to see individual photos organized by date and location, tap Collections to zoom out to a more condensed view, and then tap Years to zoom out even more. Tap a collection or year to zoom back in.
And you'll now have a Recently Added album, which shows the photos and videos added to your device in the last 30 days, organized by date. To see your Recently Added album, tap Albums > Recently Added.
Where can I find the My Photo Stream album?
In iOS 8, there's no longer a separate My Photo Stream album. Instead, photos that were in the My Photo Stream album are now in the Recently Added album.
If you were using iPhoto for iOS, make sure that you migrated your photos.

  • Can't import photos after upgrade to Tiger 10.4.8

After upgrading from Panther to Tiger I can no longer import photos to iPhoto 4 from my camera. I get error messages that say "Unreadable files: 240. The following files could not be imported (they may be unrecognized file type or the file may not contain valid data). When I go to the directory they are located in, I see a bunch of JPG files, but when I try to open them I get a message from Preview saying it may be corrup or a file format Preview doesn't recognize.
I can view the photos that were in iPhoto prior to the OS upgrade without any problem.

Hi, hope I've caught this discussion before it's ended.
Been getting "Unreadable files. The following files could not be imported (they may be unrecognized file type or the file may not contain valid data" ... but then ...
Was having problems with my hard drive and was about to back up my iPhoto Library when I checked the folder size with 'Apple i' and the 'lock' option was ticked. I definitely didn't option it. I've added images to iPhoto with this option unchecked and they've all gone in fine. Fantastic.
I too think my problems started after Tiger upgrade back last Autumn, loaded some pics in iPhoto at that time, deleted from camera and went back to iPhoto - none there!
Try this option, hope it works for someone else.

  • Missing features after upgrade

I updated my 3GS to 4.0 and lost cell data (though it will show full bars and 3G), as well as MMS. I then got the iPhone 4 and restored from my 3GS backup. Now, I am missing those features as well FaceTime (which isn't even showing up in the phone settings). Anyone know what's going on?
Most important is obviously that I'm able to access the data network. I'd rather not restore entirely because I'd then lose camera roll, text history, etc.

Hello, I had the same problem yesterday after upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After searching the web I found this solution (source: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01114052#SelectiveUpdate) which worked for me:      Step 4: Selectively update the imaging device driverIf a webcam driver is recognized after running the scan for new hardware in Device Manager, verify it is the latest version of the driver. note:If there is an HP webcam driver on the product page for your model and OS, use that driver, otherwise use the Microsoft USB Video Device driver. In the Device Manager, under Imaging Devices, expand the list of webcam drivers, right-click the webcam driver, and then select Properties.Figure : Webcam PropertiesMake a note of the existing name of the webcam driver (Example: HP Webcam), as it may change after the update. On the Webcam Properties window, select Update Driver....When prompted, select the option to Browse the computer for desired driver. When prompted, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer option.De-select the Show compatible hardware checkbox, select Microsoft in the Manufacturer pane, select USB Video Device in the Model pane, and then click Next to install the desired webcam driver.Allow the installation of the USB Video Device, and then click Close.View the Imaging devices option in the Device Manager to verify the presence of a webcam driver.   Hope this works for you too. Regards,

  • Can't find photos after upgrading to Windows 7

Bridge was working fine in Vista but after upgrading to Windows 7, I cannot find any of my photo files with bridge.  Photoshop CS4 find them OK and so does Lightroom but for some reason Bridge does not list them under Folders.  If I click on Libraries it says "no files".  It does not list Pictures or My Pictures.  I am totally stumped.

    If I am in Photoshop
    and go File>Open I get a list:
    Recent Places
    Desktop
    Libraries
    Computer
    Network
I click on Libraries and get a list:
    Documents
    Pictures
    Music
    Videos
I click on Pictures and that is where all my picture files are stored  (Used to be My Pictures in XP)
This also works in Lightroom if I Click on Import/Choose Files
Howeve,r from within Bridge, if I click on Libraries it says "No items to Display"
Also, within Bridge, If I click on the Files menu, the work Open is grayed out.

  • Organizer 10 missing thumbnails after upgrade

After upgrading from Elements 7 to 10, I'm missing 1400 thumbnails in Organizer 10 that are still present in Organizer 7. Is there some way to find the missing images and get them viewable in Organizer 10? Thank you.

Well, I figured how to fix the problem manually, fairly quickly. Clicked on Display, then folder location. In the My Pictures section, it was was easy to identify the 20-30 folders (out of about 100) whose images had not been imported into organizer. Right clicked each one, one at a a time, and clicked to import images. Voila.  Took about 10 minutes, and all the images are now in Organizer 10. Thanks for the ideas to help me.

  • Missing photos after migration from iPhoto to Photos

Last week I upgraded my desktop MacPro from OS 10.9.latest to OS 10.10.3. When I first opened Photos, it did the migration from iPhotos without apparent problem. But I have noticed that many (hundreds at least) of the photos from my pre-migration iPhoto library are now not in Photos. I mounted my pre-upgrade backup drive on a laptop running OS 10.9.latest, and can find specific missing photos OK on the backup. But if I search the main drive on my desktop Mac, for example for "P1440608", I get no results. I have tried rebuilding the Photos library with no change - the missing photos are still missing.
One option is to erase my MacPro main drive and restore from the backup drive to OS 10.9.latest. This should put me back to where I was. Is there a viable alternative? Please note that my iPhoto version was 8.1.2. It will not open in OS 10.10.3, and the App Store will not let me upgrade to the most recent version. I do have Time Machine plus external bootable (SuperDuper) backup of the desktop MacPro, plus that laptop running OS 10.9.latest as resources available.

Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How or where can I retrieve my photos from as they have disappeared after upgrading to ios5

Your photos should be backed up on your computer's hard drive, and that hard drive should be backed up to another medium. If you have a camera, you don't keep all your photos in it, do you?
