Missing Photos Tab

Any suggestions for how to fix the fact that my iphone does not show a photos tab in itunes?
As a matter of fact, it looks like itunes is just cut off within its frame. The summary tab vertically ends midway through the check for update button.
I am on a macbook and am running the latest mac os 10.6.1, itunes 9.02 and iphone software 3.1.2. iphone is 16GB 3gs model.
I had this same problem in itunes 9.01. Already tried deleting itunes and re-installing it. still no photos tab.
iphoto does open up and display the photos on my phone but that is the only action I get.

I had this problem on my Dell with Vista. After spending 5 1/2 hours, talking with Apple reps, googling for answers, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and installing other photo programs, I came up with a simple idea that actually fixed the problem. It should have been my first fix rather than one that came to me 5 1/2 hours later. Always looking for a difficult answer when many times it is simple.
For those who are having this problem, go to "Controls" on your PC, find where to adjust screen resolution and slide the resolution bar gradually increasing resolution and amount of info that will appear on your computer screen. Before accepting, take a look at your iTunes page. The photo tab should appear in the extreme right hand corner. If not, keep adjusting until it does.

  • Missing "photo" tab in iTunes.

    Hi guys,
I've just about tried everything on the web and I can't believe i can't find any answers!
I have no means of syncing photos from my PC to my iPhone using iTunes because the "Photos" tab does not appear. It has nothing to do with my screen resolution, or my iPhone not being connected properly... its just not there.
There are 8 tabs (from left to right) , namely "Summary", "Info", "Applications", "Ringtones", "Music", "Films", TV Programmes" and lastly "Podcasts".
I tried removing iTunes and reinstalling it but that doesn't work. Anyone with previous experience that has successfully repaired this issue?
I'm using Windows XP by the way.
    HELP!!!!!

Thanks for the info, you're right, it must be the size of the expanded window for itunes. If you can't see the black border around the tabs on the far left and far right side, you can't be sure that all tabs are shown.

  • IPhone 3g, Photos tab missing in iTunes

I've got a 3G iPhone and when I sync it with my computer there's not a photos tab anymore. I have the latest version 3.1.3 for the iPhone and I've been told that there should be a photo tab so I don't know what the problem is. Can someone help?

I have possibly the same problem. I noticed one thing, if you resize the window smaller there is no scroll bar to get to hidden tab. You also cannot use the keyboard to get to hidden tabs. You can also not make the iTunes window larger that the current resolution. The last tab I can see is actually 'Photo' wiht the 's' cut off but I seem to remember with some of my clients there was an advanced tab at the end with at least backup options.
    My tabs are as following...
Summary, Info, Applications, Ringtones, Music, Films, TV Programmes, Podcasts, iTunes U, Photo
Hmmm, I thought of another way to get more room for the tabs, I moved the left vertical scroll bar all the way to the left. It seems that 'Photos' is the last tab. There should still be some way to go through to hidden tabs when your window is smaller. And where is the backup option? Not the option to encrypt the backup, since there is no backup yet.

  • Ipod photo tab missing.

    Good evening fellow Ipod users
Now, I have read a post like this before, but there is a difference.
My Ipod has never displayed a photo tab.
I've had it since around august 2007 and I've tried reinstalling itunes and resetting my ipod and everything I can think of but the photos tab just will not come up.
    Anyone help? Greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance!

Head to Settings -> Main Menu (something along those lines) and make sure the Photos option has a check mark next to it.

  • Where is the photo tab in itunes 11

updated to new itunes 11 but the photo tab (which is usually on the top with summary, videos etc) is missing. how do i transfer photos form windows back to iphone?

I am having problems with this too. I have tried changing my screen resolution, and I can't find a way to resize the window. Grabbing the bottom, right corner of the screen didn't work either. I have read about 5 forums on this and can't seem to figure it out. Seems like a common problem. How else have you all suceeded in finding this tab?

  • How to import the photos from the Photos tab in the Photos app in iOS 7?

I use iPhone 4 with iOS 7. I have done the following steps:
Connected my iPhone to my Mac.
    Opened iPhoto.
Clicked on my iPhone in the left sidebar.
Clicked the blue button, offering to import X photos.
I chose to delete the photos from my iPhone, when I was prompted at the end of the import.
However, I noticed the following - there were photos, that was not offered for an import. Now, on my iPhone when I open the Photos app and go to albums my Camera Roll album is empty, but when I go to Photos App -> Photos I see the photos I imported, as well as many many photos that were not imported, but are also not in the Camera Roll album (it's empty, as noted). So:
    1. How do I get the photos from Photos app -> Photos tab?
    2. How do I delete them from there when I have them.
One more thing - isn't it annoying that one has to delete the same photo from so many places -> Camera Roll Album, My Photo Stream. Photos Tab. I mean - if I take a picture by mistake, shouldn't it be possible to just delete it from one place and never see it again?

It seems I was wrong. I just had missed seeing the photos in iPhoto. Sorry for the confusion.

  • I don't have Photo tab

I have the latest version of iTunes. I read that I could put pictures on to my iPod by clicking one of 4 buttons in the bottom right of the iTunes window. I only have 2 buttons. One is "Eject iPod" and the other is "Quickly browse your iTunes library". I also read that if I went to Preferences I could find and iPod tab. I don't have an iPod tab.
*If it helps, I took a screen shot to show the places where I am missing these buttons. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/jdshahi/iPodHelp.jpg
I would really appreciate any help!

You are mixing up adding photos with adding album artwork and the four buttons are on the left not the right. The fourth button in shows or hides the artwork pane. Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod when using iTunes 7:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view. if you want to include full size photos so you can move them from one computer to another check the the "Include Full Resolution photos" box.

  • PHOTO TAB NOT VISIBLE

I have the current version of Itunes and am wanting to sync my iphone but exclude certain photos, as am close to exceeding my capacity.  I do not have a "photos" tab in Itunes and have tried showing/not showing sidebar, etc.  Photos tab is not listed anywhere.  Thanks for the help.

You will not see a Photo tab as you're Nano has not been updated/optimized for the Mac. Check your Nano software in "About" and see if it's still formatted as Fat32. If so, there's your problem. The solution in one of the Apple KB is to do a archive and install. Why, beacuse most likely you are missing the "iPodDriver.kext" file.

  • I can't see the photo tab when trying to sync my iphone from itunes

For some reason, all the tabs are not showing on itunes when trying to sync my iphone. The 'photos' tab in particular is missing. It shows I can scroll to the right to possibly see the rest of the tabs, but when I scroll across to the right, it moves the whole page across, but nothing from itunes moves across with the page. Sorry, it's hard to explain. I hope you can help.

Sorry, it's probably really easy to do, but I'm not sure how to change it. I have a Mac book. Can you help? It's strange that it seems to be the only tab missing, and only when I connect my iphone to sync, it doesn't happen when I sync my ipod. It's weird, and it never used to disappear. I need the photo tab back
Sorry, and thanks to anyone that can help

  • ITunes does not show my iPhoto photos and albums in iPod Photos tab

When I connect my iPod to my Mac, iTunes displays the iPod device. However, under the Photos tab, when I select the "Sync photos from" checkbox, and select "iPhoto" from the dropdown list, the "All photos and albums" radio button below it shows "(0 photos)". Also, the "Selected albums (0 photos)" radio button is grayed out, and doesn't display any of my albums or photos in the list below.
So, basically, iTunes acts as if I don't have anything in iPhoto at all. I did an experiment, and moved my iPhoto Library out of the Pictures folder, launched iPhoto, and created a new iPhoto Library. I also added some albums and photos. These appeared in iTunes just fine! But when I moved my original iPhoto Library folder back, iTunes went back to displaying nothing.
I also tried rebuilding my iPhoto libary (launch holding down the Cmd-Opt keys, and selecting all items to rebuild. This did not fix anything in iTunes.

Have you checked for non-ascii characters in your Album Names, Picture Titles or Keywords? Specifically, be wary of any characters apart from the 326 letters of the alphabet and the basic 0 - 9. !@£$%^&*() can all cause problems.
Also, have a look at this thread,
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=778068&tstart=0
About half way down there's a post from Dave E which contains the following:
Sal, I had a similar problem once. I'm sorry you had to go through so much of this but maybe what I discovered can still help you.
    - View your albumdata.xml file in some text editor, like TextEdit.
    - Do a Find (cmd f) for "List of Keywords"
    - The XML under that looks kind of like this:
    <dict>
    <key>1</key>
    <string>Favorite</string>
    <key>6</key>
    <string>Birthday</string>
    <key>3</key>
    </dict>
You will probably have more keywords, this is just an example. But see the format - everything that has <something> ends with </something>.
When I had the problem, the example above looked like:
    <dict>
    <key>1</key>
    <string>Favorite <key>6</key>
    <string>Birthday</string>
    <key>3</key>
    </dict>
Notice the line return and </string> are missing for "Favorite". This happened to one of my keywords, and I don't know what caused it, but I deleted that keyword (and the one after it) from within iPhoto's preferences, and typed them in again.
The problem went away. Maybe some bogus character got into the keywords to make the XML go bad.

  • Missing Applications Tab

When I log on to iTunes, I am missing the tab for APPLICATIONS. I only have the following tabs: Summary, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Photos, Info. How do I add the APPLICATIONS tab so I can then transfer the games I've purchased in my library to my ipod touch?

One thing that might help out.
Along with neuroanatomist's post asking sure that you are running os 2.0.
Are you running windows 2000 as it shows in your profile at the bottom of your post?
If so, the minimum system requirements for ipod touch and iphone are win xp sp2 or vista.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT4236 I can't see a photos tab on my itunes screen -is it hidden somewhere?

I have new ipad 2 just purchased.  I have updated to the latest versions of ios 5.1  iTunes says my software is up to date, but under the device my ipad only shows 'music', 'movies', 'tv shows' and then categories of music such as classical etc.  My understanding is that to enable me to load photos from my pc (not a mac) I should be able to see a 'photos' tab.  Have I missed setting up something?

You are looking on the wrong side of iTunes - the Photos tab appears on the right-hand side of the iTunes window when you've selected the iPad under 'Devices' on the left-hand side i.e. the same as the other tabs that you use to sync content the iPad.
