Missing plugin message in all browsers

Hello,
Has anybody else encountered this?  Today when using Chrome all of a sudden instead of videos I got a message that says missing plugin.  Of course, Chrome claims that Adobe is automatic.  I tried both IE and Firefox, and they both said I needed to install the plugin.  I did reinstall Flash, still getting the same message.  I have unistalled and reinstalled Flash about 12 times today, and uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome and no effect, still getting the same problem.  I tried disabling Flash in Chrome and installing, still didn't work. Please help!
I have Windows XP Pro, and I use Chrome for the most part.  I have the lastest version of everything I am sure, since I reinstalled it all today.  Thanks!!!!

Thanks. Now since FF is complete as far as Flash Player is concerned is it working? Test here if you can see the Flash Player logo animate? http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If not, what version of FF did you have Installed before 4.0? Was Flash Player working then?
Have you updated Flash Player each time Adobe updated it? The version before this latest was 10.2.152.32, do you recall having that version before updating to the current version?
With all of these questions, I'm trying to determine if you had a Flash Player problem prior to this latest update with IE or FF?
Also did you have a problem with the FF previous version.
Flash Player updated  & within a day FF came out with 4.0. That makes it difficult to determine which may be causing an issue.
Flash Player works thru the browsers and FF is the new browser.
When updating Flash Player the last time, did you receive any error messages pertaining to IE or FF?
Do you have any Anti-Virus other than Avast and did you have a clean Uninstall of any previous AV?
We will probably Uninstall and Install, but if any issue was present prior to these updates, then unless they are identified they may well cause an issue.
Thanks,

Supposedly a problem with Adobe to which Apple Support is unable to propose a solution.
Anyone know whether there is in fact a solution to this?

  • Adobe Flash Player Plugin crashes in ALL browsers while accessing webcam

    Hi,
I am struggling to get my adobe flash player plug-in working while accessing webcam.
It simply crashes in all browsers. I googled this issue and realized many users are facing this issue.
However I did not get any solution to fix this. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling plug-in multiple times but of no use.
    Following are specifications:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32 Bit) SP3
Browsers: Internet Explorer (8.0), Chrome (8.0), Mozilla Firefix (3.0)
    Webcam: Dell monitor inbuilt webcam
    Flash Player version: 10,1,102,64
Please note, the webcam is accessible through other applications (e.g. Yahoo! Messenger, Skype, Windows Explorer)
Also, Adobe Flash player doesn’t give any trouble while playing streaming videos on YouTube etc.
Trouble is only when flash player tries to access webcam through any browser (eg. while "Record from Webcam" on YouTube)
An interesting observation I like to note here, the device list that appears in the plug-in window is blank for both video/audio devices (See the area encircled  RED in the image below)
Not sure, but just suspecting could this be potential reason for crash?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Struggler

    Hello all,
My doubt was correct. It was all due to the blank device list. After lot of struggle I found this solution worked for me:
    1. As soon as the plug-in tries to access webcam, it will show you "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    2. Click Deny then Close to close it
    3. Now press tab key on keyboard. It will highlight (in yellow) and show list of devices in video device dropdown control (This could be little bit tricky and you need to put little bit more efforts to see the list). You can now select your webcam as device here.
    4. Press Tab key again to go audio dropdown and select audio device.
    5. Then right click and bring up "Adobe Flash Player Settings" again.
    6. Under Microphone and Camera tabs, make sure we select same devices we selected in 3 & 4 above
    7. Come back to privacy tab and this time chose "Allow" and then close "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    8. You should now see the camera images in the plug-in
Conclusion: This is a workaround worked for me. Plug-in is quite unstable and there is definitely something here Adobe Flash Player plug-in developers need to do about.
Hope this workaround helps many other users.
    Thanks,

  • How to avoid missing plugin message

    Hello,
Is there a flag or parameter to put in my plugin (indesign cs6) to ensure that documents handled with my plugin does not request it if opened on other machines with indesign but not having the plugin ?!
In other words to avoid that our customers had the message "missing required plugin..."
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Bartek,
you're right, everything is explained in the SDK ! Yet I did a search but I did not use the right keywords .
I am not an expert in plugins development but I inherited maintenance of a plugin and I'm learning on the job.
I will try to get out following the SDK and I will keep you informed !
    Thanks very much,
    Nabil

  • Missing Plugin messages appear when launching FCPX

Whenever I launch FCP X I have about 30 annoying messages that pop up telling me that plugins are missing for example I have one that reads "FXTiles will not be available in Final Cut Pro. FX Tiles requires Final Cut Pro 10.0.3" how do I get rid of these annoying messages? Someone please help!

    Hi Nathan,
Final Cut Pro 10.0.3 is out of date.
The easiest way to get rid of the warning message is to simply update Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5.  You can upgrade free of charge using the App Store application on your Mac.

  • Quicktime plugin crashes in all browsers in XP

I'm unable to play any Quicktime videos in the browser (using trailers.apple.com as a test). In both Chrome and IE, it doesn't even get to start playing the video, the browser just says that the plugin crashed.
I also notice that if I go to Control Panel -> Quicktime, clicking on the Streaming tab results in a runtime error and the preferences window closes.
I AM able to play .mov files if I open them from the filesystem in Explorer.
I have XP SP3 with the latest patches. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktime. I have tried disabling DirectDraw and Direct3D, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone know what this is, or know how to diagnose it further?

i run win 7.0...  i window security essentials complete scan. took 4 hours but found this malware installed by 3rd party.  havent gotten shockwave error since reboot.  will keep posted.  this didnt show up in any other virus scan...

  • FLASH PLAYER MISSING PLUGIN PLEASE HELP!!

Since the Last Safari Update,I've been constantly getting a missing plugin message whenever FlashPlayer was required.
I have tried uninstaling/installing FlashPlayer from the adobe website. But still always asked to download the latest version. And later did disk permission repair/check, nothing worked. I even disabled som of the plugins i had read in the discussion that might cause some problems such as the java cocoa plugin, but flash player's plugin is still missing.
    PLEASE HELP!

Latest version of Flash is 10.3.181.26
It installs in Macintosh HD/Library/Internet plug-ins and is available to all browsers.
Make sure you're getting the right one; there is  one for Firefox, Safari and Opera and a seperate one for Chrome.
Best to install with all browsers closed (note - you have to open and authorise the installer - it doesn't install automatically on download).
If a browser's open, quit and reopen it to enable the plug-in.
Be wary of error messages claiming you don't have the right plug-in. Don't follow links from them, they're often used to redirect you to malware sites.
And ensure JavaScript is enabled when trying to view Flash; it won't work without it.

  • PSD files missing plugin

When I drag and drop a picture from Aperture that was processed through photoshop and a filter (like Nik) and it is saved as a PSD, when that image is pulled over to FCPX, I get a missing plugin message.  When I do the same process, but as a tiff it seems to be ok.
    Thoughts?

Was the PSD an 8-bit RGB? I don't have any problems importing images with Smart Objects that have filters applied:
The above contains 2 smart objects with artistic filters, masks, adjustment layers (levels, hue-saturation). All of these filters and adjustment layers are still available in the saved PSD file - nothing was rasterized. It imports into FCPX as a 2-layered PSD and each layer is individually accessible.
    Rasterizing is a "destructive" edit.
PSDs must be 8-bit RGB mode in order to receive "full support" in FCPX.

  • [SOLVED]Flashplugin causing all browsers to either crash

    Hi guys,
i recently installed arch on old machine i was given. after some initial problems with the radeon driver and x11, i now have openbox up and running.
as this is an old machine, with only 512mb of ram i've tried using low-overhead browsers at first. i use luakit on my other machine and have no problems there, so i've tried initially  using luakit on this one.
i've installed flashplugin, nearly every gstreamer plugin imaginable, and totem-plugin. the latter two plugins are for the many types of streaming sites i visit. but i digress...
my real issue seems to be with the flashplugin.
every time i run luakit and visit a site that uses flash, like youtube for instance i'll get an immediate crash with an an error
Illegal instruction ( core dumped )
every time i run midori and visit a flash site i get the same crash and error
Illegal instruction ( core dumped )
so we move up the bloat ladder...
epiphany immediately freezes up and crashes.
chromium doesn't crash but every flash-embedded page with have a
    missing plugin
message where each flash video should be.
so now with chromium i've moved out of the realms of it just being a webkit issue. but i haven't got the foggiest of where to look to try and find the problem.
flashplugin is most definitely installed. i should also point out that my graphics card is an old radeon 9200 128mb agp. but still, it should be able to play flash videos surely?
thanks for your time, i'm open to suggestions.

  • Missing Plugin

when I try to watch a video on the Apple Site I get a missing plugin message.  I'm running all the current software on Lion 10.7.3 .  Please help me solve this problem.  I am able to view it on Firefox though which doesn't make sense.

vst plug-ins will not work in Logic pro, unless you have a vst-to-au-wrapper, since the plug-in format of logic pro is audio units - i.e au.
As a registered user of absynth, you should be able to download the au-version from their website.

  • Help! - "missing plugin" victim here (Chrome).

    Hi all,
I get this "missing plugin" error on all the flash objects such as youtube clips and other videos etc. I am using Chrome and have checked that adobe flash is enabled in about:plugins and it is.
    What's going on?
Btw, flash is working fine in other browsers such as FF.

Hi, If you haven't looked at this website, then it may be helpful.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/839/cpsid_83950.html
If you have followed the information in that site and still have a problem, then the only thing that may work, is to Uninstall Chrome and Re-Install it.
    Thanks,

    Hi
I tried to email a video i recorded in photobooth. However when mail opens i get a 'missing plugin' message in the mail instead of the video? I read elsewhere that this could be to do with Java preferences?

.xhtml is not a valid extension.

My ITunes got corrupted and I kept getting a message when updating iTunes64msi missing so I uninstalled all files and I thought I removed all registry values but  when reinstalling I get an older version is installed and cannot be removed. I need a solution.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
