Missing popup - FIND VARIANT
Hi,
I created a Z program and has selection screen variants for 3 users. When I press the variant button on selection screen, popup FIND VARIANT is not displayed to search a variant with search parameters (Variant, Environement, Created by..etc.).
Instead it is displaying popup list with columns VARIANT NAME and SHORT DESCRIPTION.
How I can get to display the FIND VARIANT popup with search parameters.
Please help.
Thanks,
minisap
If all the variants are in your name then there will not be any FIND VARIANT option get displayed. For testing this ask some other user to create a variant under his name and save . then you will get FIND VARIANT option

My icons are missing from finder and Safari.
Not sure what I have done. My icons are missing from finder and Safari, tired the customise tool bar option with no joy, please help.
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

IMovie won't open and Library Folder is missing in Finder
A few days ago, I downloaded the recent iMovie program. I even used it to make a video. Today I wanted to make another one but iMovie won't open at all. The wheel just spins and spins and nothing opens. So, I went into Finder and noticed my Library folder was missing. How did that happen? Is that why iMovie won't open?
I searched the Discussion Forums and saw how to find the Library folder in Lion. (Press Option and hit the Go button in the menu bar.) But, I have Maverick. I tried this anyway but I have no idea what/where the Go button is.
How do I find, or replace if necessary, my Library folder and get iMovie to open? I have a mid-2007 iMac that's been upgraded from Snow Leopard, so I don't want to put the Install Disk in and lose everything. Help? Thanks. Sorry for the confusion with the Library Folder. It's just been a long day all around.
Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I know it's older but it's never caused me a day's trouble since I've owned it. I hate to replace it until the next upgrade.
ETA: I just opened the Activity Monitor in Utilities and it says, out of 4GB of Memory, that 3.88GB are Used. I don't understand this because I have very, very few things loaded onto my iMac at all. I've always had tons of memory left. I don't have any music on my PC at all. No movies, either. My dock only has Finder, Launchpad, Dashboard, Safari, Firefox, TextEdit and System Preferences.
Here's a report from my Activity Monitor. Any suggestions? I have no idea what some of these things are, like: CalendarAgent (I don't use calendar at all),

For a week or so, my "media" folder has been missing from my Bookmarks list. It's a long folder, so I did not want to reenter all the URLs. I followed the troubleshooting info and checked all the bookmark backup files. No joy. I also ran a word search for "Media".
No relevant hits.
Neither "explorer" nor "Total Commander" could find the profile Folder. They did find a "Favorites" folder which included the lost folder.
Is there any easy way for me to "reload" the lost folder?
Also, there was a reference to Norton 360 - could it be the problem?
I wouldn't think it would affect only one folder.IE stores favorites as separate files and folders on the hard drive. Firefox stores all the bookmarks and history in one SQLite database file called places.sqlite, so you won't find anything if you do a search on your hard drive.

Newly created photoshop images/icons missing in finder in Snow Leopard
Ever since installing Snow Leopard, whenever I create a new image in Photoshop and save it to a file, and then I go into that file to look for it, it is missing. The only way I can find the file is if I enter the name of the image in the finder window and do a search - then it says that the image is in the image folder - where I put it - but when I go there, it isn't there. So the only way to find and then open that newly created image, is to remember what I called it, and then enter it's name in the finder serach window. Crazy, Huh? What could be causing that, and how can I fix that?
The other problem that I notice with Snow Leopard is that the newly created icon images in finder are all blurry. The blurriness seems to be random. Some are, some are not. I did a search for that in the forum and it seems that just about everyone is experiencing this problem. You would think after a year of complaints that Apple would do something about this, but they have not. They are completly ignoring the problem. What version of CS? what Mac even is this?
CS4 or later (CS5.x probably to be current).

Recently, I have noticed that files are missing from the finder view. The files are still there (they show up in a "find" or spotlight search and will list if the directory is accessed over the network.) It is as if the files are hidden.
I have tried several ways to refresh the window, none do anything.
If I know the filename and "search it" in the finder window, it will show up. After I "cancel" the search parameters, the file/folder is visible again.
The first time I noticed this, I had a complete list of files in a window. I clicked on the one that I needed, and it vanished from view. This happened on several other files as well.
Any ideas?I found the solution to my own problem. It is an issue with ChronoSync, a third party sync program. They are fixing the problem in the next version of the program (a beta is available now, which seems to have fixed things).

Files Missing in Finder but Listed in Terminal
I have a bunch of Videos on an External Drive. When I double click them to open, they disappear suddenly. However, QuickTime launches and even Plays the file
The missing files show up in Terminal.
Copying the Videos folder does not solve this. Finder does not see these files even after setting it show show Hidden Files.
I have unmounted the drive, remounted it, restarted my computer, but no luck.
How do I get Finder to show my missing files again ?For some reason, I now see all my files in Finder.
I have no idea why or how this happened.
I hope to move on from this experience now. -
Quicktime file info missing in Finder column view???
In the Finder column view my PowerMac G4 running OS X 10.3.9 shows all QuickTime audio and video file info along with the playable thumbnail video or music bar, including duration/running time and (for movies) dimension/aspect ratio in pixels.
However, on my much newer iBook G4 from 2 years ago running OS X 10.4.10, those two helpful stats are missing. From what I've been told this helpful file date and aspect ratio data is indeed possible with 10.4 Tiger as it is in Panther but I can't see how to show them via either View preferences, QuickTime prefs, Apple's document files or even these message boards. If anyone could please help me I'd really appreciate it, thanks!!!Oh, sorry.
No, I am running Quicktime 7.2 on both computers. I always install the latest updates when Software Update informs me of one and Quicktime doesn't use different versions for Panther & Tiger as far as I know.
This has been this way for a long time and the only difference at any time in the past has been 10.3.x vs 10.4.x. I sort of accepted it was something not available in Tiger's Finder column view (since I don't remember doing anything specific in Panther to show that extra info) but then after someone pointed out to me that that should be something one can adjust (and after using common sense) I realized Tiger wouldn't disable or take away info provided in the earlier versions, in a sense downgrading something users may rely on.
I don't think I asked: are you (or anyone reading this) showing the duration and dimensions of Quicktime audio and movie files in Finder column view under Tiger? ...or under Panther? Again, I'm referring to those that can be played directly in the preview in column view. Thanks. -
Variable created in TVARVC missing for some variants
HI All,
I have created a table variable in TVARVC table using tcode STVARV , up on creating a custom variant i could see the table variable displayed in help, however when creating for a variant transported from other system , i could not find the table variable in the help provided. do i have to maintain entries in any other tables, please provide a solution.
Thanks in advance,
Regards.
Praveen.
Edited by: praveen kumar on Feb 21, 2011 7:24 AMI found the answer ,
Note that changes to the values of table TVARVC affect all variants that use these particular variables.
The transactions STVARV and STVARVC are available for maintaining the table variants. With transaction STVARV you can maintain the entries in table TAVRVC for the current client (display/change/add). Transaction STVARVC only allows you to maintain the entries in client 000.

Alerts subtab is missing Cannot find the Health Monitoring add-in
I'm running a Windows Server 2012 R2 with Essentials Services. I ended up switching domains with this server. I completely uninstalled Essentials server and all the dependent components with no reported errors.
I reinstalled everything with no errors. Now when I go to the dashboard I'm getting the following errors.
Alerts subtab is missing - Title
Cannot find the Health Monitoring add-in. Please verify and make sure that the add-in is correctly installed.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing Essentials a couple of times but with no luck.
Is there a way to repair this problem without wiping everything and starting over?
James GlennBelow is what I found in the logs that seemed pertinent.
Those Dlls are there. I'm wondering if its a security issue?

More Submenu is Missing in Finder Context Menu
The tutorial on how to use automator at
http://macosxautomation.com/automator/examples/ex03/index.html
has the following paragraph
At the bottom of the Finder Contextual Menu is a sub-menu named More. Choose Automator > Create Workflow... from the sub-menu. A new Automator window will open, displaying a workflow that begins with an action that lists the items that were selected in the Finder.
More submenu is missing on my Snow Leopard. Is there any other way to get the same functionality besides opening Automator directly.
My main concern is how do I know that I have Automator workflow assigned to the folder that's applied every time when I add files. For a Service, they are stored in your user/Library/Services. You should also have a Workflows folder in Library. I couldn't tell if I was just putting them there or that was the default. Mine is organized by Applications, and inside that there is a Folder Actions folder.
For your example, did you create a Folder Action for the Trash folder? What file does it update the modification date for?
For your question about know what it is working on, there are various ways to designate the files that it acts on depending on the type of workflow it is. A service passes whatever was right-clicked, including a multiple selection. In a standard workflow you would use a particular action like Get Selected Finder Items or Get Specified Finder Items. In a Folder Action, it gets what was added to the folder. The Automator interface only works on Adding, but if you use Applescript, you can create a folder action that handles Opening, closing, or moving a folder window, and when deleting files from a folder.

"Rename" missing from Finder context menu
The Rename feature on the Finder Context menu has been very useful to me.
Got an error message while trying to rename several folders.
Now the Rename feature is missing from the Finder context menu.
OS 10.10 Yosemite, 27" iMac
Just recently purchased at Thunderbolt hard drive enclosure (Akitio Thunder2 Quad enclosure) and the error happened while renaming files on the Thunderbolt drive. Now the rename feature is missing from all drives.
I've tried:
rebooting - no help
ejecting the Thunder2 quad and rebooting - no help
power down the Thunder2 and rebooting - no helpWelcome to the world of Mac. Some ‘light’ reading to help the transition. I don’t recommend trying to get through all of this at once.

A large number of photo files have disappeared from my iPhoto library in Finder view, but still appear in iPhoto itself. I've tried browsing in Photoshop and in the Finder, as well as searching, but no files appear in the year/month/date folder structure. What happened to my files??
Select a photo in iPhoto, Control-Click on it, and select "Show in Finder". That will show you were the actual file is.
Also, can you view them in full-screen mode? If not, then the file might really be missing, and iPhoto is just showing you the lower-resolution thumbnail from the data folders. -
When I open Finder, under devices I see my "Macintosh HD" and "iDisk", however, the icon with a small computer that says "Administrator's MacBook" is missing. Any ideas on how to get it back?
never mind
